Saturday SICW Results From East Carondelet, IL + Other Show Results

-Ring announcer:  Drew Abbenhaus.  Referees:  Nick Ridenour, Denny Thomas, & Bill Henson.
-"Superstar/Movie Star" Steve Fender d. "Astonishing" Austin Mulitalo by rolling through a cross-bodyblock off the top rope and holding the tights (9:13).  The match was initially scheduled to be Mulitalo vs. The Intern, but Fender paid off Intern and took his place.
-"The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant d. "The Tennessee Hangman" Larry Cooter after a running Stunner (5:02).
-Drew announced that SICW's monthly shows would take place at the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds in Belleville starting in February; the TV tapings will still be at the East Carondelet Community Center.
-The Top Guns(Brandon Barretta & Joe Vinetti) d. Waco & "Big Nasty" Glenn Williams when Vinetti pinned Williams via top-rope splash (5:20).
-Big Joe Helms(w/ "The Boss" Lucky P. Larsen, Esquire) d. Billy McNeil with a modified abdominal stretch cradle (8:57).
-"Volatile" Curtis Wylde(w/ Wyldefyre) d. Ax Allwardt by DQ when The L.A. Hustlers("Notorious" Bradley Diggs & "Ruffshot" Lamont Potts)(w/ "The Boss" Lucky P. Larsen, Esquire) attacked Wylde (5:49).  The Hustlers and Lucky focused their attack on Wylde's leg until Jayson Khaos ran them off.
-"The Kingpin" Rob Kowalski(w/ "The Boss" Lucky P. Larsen, Esquire & Big Joe Helms) d. Jayson Khaos with the K-Bomb(Vader Bomb) after a trip by Lucky (5:12).
-Flash Flanagan fought "The Purple Haze" Andrew Anderson(w/ Kevin Sullivan) to a double DQ when Anderson brought Sullivan's golden spike into the match and Flanagan brought in his kendo stick.  The fight got out of hand and Anderson & Sullivan went as far as to douse Flanagan with lighter fluid before the referee stopped them from setting Flanagan on fire!  The locker room emptied to separate the two and attempt to restore order.
-Central States Champion Bobby D & Tag Team Champions "The Night Train" Gary Jackson & The Big Texan d. Classic Champion Attila Khan, Sheik Jake Prater, & Payton Ayers(w/ Steven E) in an elimination tag match.  Eliminations:  Texan pinned Ayers after the lariat (5:39).  Prater pinned Jackson with a cross-bodyblock (10:59).  Prater pinned Bobby D after hitting him with the Central States Title belt behind the referee's back (13:40).  Texan pinned Prater after the lariat (14:36).  Texan pinned Khan after the lariat (18:17).

Notes:  It was a packed house in East Carondelet, which was cited as a reason for the move to the larger Belle-Clair Fairgrounds building.  It sounded like MMWA was close to sold out as well, so despite the issues with running against each other, neither group seems to have problems with drawing fans.  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Mountain Dew, cheeseburger, bottle of water, Pepsi, bag of Fritos.  (I slept most of Saturday so hadn't eaten much beforehand.)  Drew acknowledged the recent passing of Cody Vogt, who helped with the technical side of Party Animal Radio back in the day (featuring a wrestling program with Drew, Ben Simon, and Mike Gordon); unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to meet Cody in those days.  Picked up an autographed 8x10 of Kevin Sullivan and Purple Haze and also had the opportunity to meet Austin Mulitalo for the first time; had seen him on the All Star Wrestling program but this was my first chance to see him live.
