FCW TV 8/28

Your hosts are Matt Martlaro & S. William Regal. Regal notes that Norman Smiley is injured and won't be able to fulfill his duties as General Manager, so Maxine Perez is now the sole G.M. of FCW...funny how that worked out. Your ring announcer is Sonia Yung.

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the FCW 15 Title, twenty-minute time limit: Their previous encounter went to a zero-to-zero draw, so they extended the time limit for this one. Seth comes out and immediately tries to pull Ambrose to the floor, then yanks him into the ring to kick-start the matchup. They brawl on the floor and Rollins gives him the ringside tour, sending Dean into the ring apron and steps before they finally get back between the ropes. Seth controls the action, looking to dish out retribution for Dean's previous disrespect of the championship. Ambrose is able to turn the tide, then shoulderblocks Rollins off the apron to send him flying into the guardrail. Good time for an ad break!

Ambrose has command of the matchup for several minutes...the five-minute mark passes with no falls exchanged. Seth floats over to land on top of a back suplex attempt, scoring a quickie near-fall...but a climb to the top rope is cut off by Ambrose. Superplex...hits! Another commercial break?...

We're back and past the ten-minute mark...still 0-0. Rollins fires off a jumping enzuigiri out of nowhere, leaving both men down. El Big Comeback by Seth...Flatliner into the turnbuckles! Advanced Curbstomp misses and Dean goes for the Midnight Special, but Seth escapes the move with a sunset flip...for two. Backslide...for two. Dean's attempted O'Connor Roll is blocked, but he avoids a springboard move by Rollins and kicks out the leg. Ambrose suddenly zeroes in on the leg, tying it up on the middle rope and delivering a running dropkick to the leg. Dragonscrew legwhip sets up a figure-four leglock in the middle of the ring...Seth's in big trouble as Dean bridges to add pressure to the hold. Rollins is able to reverse the hold and now the pressure is reversed, but Dean turns it back around...Seth barely reaches the ropes to escape.

Fifteen minutes have passed and we STILL have no falls...another figure-four attempt is countered into a small package by Seth...for two. Seth kicks him away with another enzuigiri, then desperately covers...for two. Regal notes the presence of Prince Iaueka in the crowd, saying he battled him over the WCW T.V. Title in the past...and he's in awe of the matchup as well. Ambrose makes the mistake of climbing the turnbuckles to pummel a cornered Rollins...Seth powers out and delivers a turnbuckle powerbomb! Avada Kedavra...no, Dean levels him with a lariat! Midnight Special...HITS! Cover...for 2 1/2! Three minutes to go!

Seth escapes another Midnight Special attempt...flash rollup attempt is rolled through by Ambrose, but Seth nails him with Avada Kedavra! However, Ambrose falls through the ropes and Seth has to bring him back in the ring. Cover...Dean gets a foot on the rope. Cover again..hand on the rope! Seth pulls him to mid-ring to cover this time...for 2 1/2! Two minutes to go. Rollins goes to the top rope for a moonsault but Ambrose shoves him to the floor and he hits the guardrail! Dean follows him out and dumps him on the broadcast table as the clock ticks down...he teases a Midnight Special on the table but Seth fights out and they brawl on top of the table until they both collapse to the floor as the clock runs out! It's another 0-0 draw!

(Footnote: It's worth noting that this match was taped on the SAME NIGHT as the previous encounter.) Regal has high praise for the match and the competitors, saying they're setting a new standard in wrestling...well said.

Richie Steamboat vs. Brad Maddox: Steamboat has had issues with Maddox in recent weeks...Maddox scored a cheap win over him and gloated about it to no end, leading to Richie shutting him up with a superkick. Maddox enters in street clothes and flanked by two unnamed bodyguards...he complains that he suffered a concussion from that dastardly unprovoked attack and isn't cleared to compete. Steamboat gets sick of Maddox's trash-talking and levels him with ANOTHER superkick, then kicks down one of the bodyguards for good measure. The other bodyguard stares down Steamboat, but Richie grabs the microphone and says the other bodyguard gets to carry them out. However, that last man standing goes to check on his boss and eats a superkick anyway...hah!

Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews new Tag Team Champions Donny Marlow & C.J. Parker. They're still in celebratory mode, but they're ready to take on all challengers.

Earlier today: Martlaro interviewed Ricardo Rodriguez and his new entourage: Conor O'Brian, Tito Colon, Kenneth Cameron, & Raquel Diaz. Ricardo claims that Alberto Del Rio actually works for HIM, not the other way around, and he claims all the credit for Del Rio's success. Hmm. Ricardo dubs the group "Ascension" and vows they'll make an impact in both FCW and WWE.

Heavyweight Champion Bo Rotundo vs. Leo Kruger, non-title lumberjack^H^H^Hhuman cage match: Regal puts over last week's match ending in a big way...Bo wants revenge but he might be concerned about falling victim to the sleeperhold once again. Kruger's the first to involuntarily leave the ring as Bo backdrops him over the ropes, but it's on the heel side and the lumberjacks return him to the ring without incident. Rotundo sends Kruger out on the face side, but they're sportsmen so they do the same as their counterparts. Kruger delivers a shinbuster out of nowhere and focuses his attack on the champion's leg. Martlaro condemns Kruger's actions last week, saying he could have won the title if he hadn't gotten disqualified...Regal says that wrestling needs "bad guys" and things would be boring otherwise. Kruger throws Rotundo out on the heel side...notably Bo throws the first punch at Conor O'Brian and gets back in the ring on his own accord. That seemed to fire up the champion, but Kruger takes out the leg once again.

The match degenerates into a slugfest until Kruger dropkicks the leg, staying on the bad limb. Martlaro points out that Rotundo may have trouble delivering the spear with a bad leg...psychology~! Bo holds himself up on the ropes to fire back, but Leo delivers a FOOT DDT~! and rips off the kneepad to increase the damage. Spinning toehold(OLDSCHOOL~!) but Bo kicks Kruger off and out of the ring...to the heel side. This leads to an argument on the floor as the heels are giving him time to recover...but while the referee is sorting this out, O'Brian jumps in the ring and levels Rotundo with IT'S THE BIG FOOT! Well, Bo shouldn't have taken the first shot earlier. Leo re-enters the ring and grabs the barely-conscious Rotundo in the sleeperhold...and that's enough to score the victory for Kruger in this non-title matchup!

The faces check on Rotundo as the commentators wonder if Kruger's earned himself another title shot...I'd say that's a safe bet. So long from the Sunshine State!
