NXT/CWC/LU

WWE NXT

-Commentators:  Tom Phillips & Corey Graves.
-TM-61(Nick Miller & Shane Thorne) d. Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari when Miller pinned Daivari after the Thunder Valley(double-military press into a double spinebuster) (8:00 aired).
-Earlier today:  Tom did a sitdown interview with NXT Women's Champion Asuka Urai; she said that she respects Bayley Rose, but she proved that she was the better competitor.  Asuka is still undefeated...has she "cleared out" the NXT women's division?  Asuka said that no one on the current NXT roster is ready to challenge her for the title...
-Backstage:  Dasha Fuentes interviewed Steve Cutler about his opportunity tonight against the NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
-Ember Moon d. Leah Von after the O-Face(flying Stone Cold Stunner off the top rope) (2:46).
-Backstage:  Dasha interviewed "No Way" Jose Valenzuela about last week's disrespect from Bobby Roode...he won't let that discourage him; he's even wearing white after Labor Day!
-Backstage:  Tommaso Ciampa was being checked out by the trainer and had a chat with Johnny Gargano; Gargano said that if they were both ready to roll, they'd get an opportunity on next week's two-hour Cruiserweight Classic finale special.
-Austin Aries d. Andrade Almas via Last Chancery (8:14 aired).
-Coming soon:  Sanity.
-NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura d. Steve Cutler(non-title) after the Kinshasa(flying knee strike) (3:28); Samoa Joe did commentary.  Joe was oddly humble on commentary and, despite a post-match staredown from the ring, he left the broadcast area and went backstage without incident.
-Next week:  No Way Jose vs. Roode.

WWE Cruiserweight Classic

-Commentators:  Mauro Ranallo & Daniel Bryan.
-Zack Sabre Jr. d. Noam Dar with a modified Rings Of Saturn using his legs to apply the hold(since Dar had injured Sabre's arm earlier in the match) (15:45).
-T.J. Perkins d. Rich Swann with the TJP Clutch(crossed-leg kneebar) (17:03).
-Next week's semifinals are Sabre vs. Gran Metalik and T.J.P. vs. Kota Ibushi; the winners will meet in the finals to determine the first Cruiserweight Classic Tournament winner.

Lucha Underground Season 3 Episode 1

-Commentators:  Matt Striker & Vampiro.
-Promoter Dario Cueto was working out in his cell...but a police officer commented that he must have "friends in high places" as he's free to go.  He reclaims his belongings(giant key included) before being picked up by Councilman Delgado in a limousine.  Delgado's mysterious boss declares that he had better not have to solve Dario's problems for him again...
-As the commentators introduced themselves, Vampiro declared that he's no longer anyone's master or mentor...he plans to focus on calling the action.
-Dario(w/ Heavyweight Champion Matanza Cueto) officially opened the show.  He announced that the main event for the night would be Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Pentagon Dark.  As for Matanza, he would defend his title against a challenger he has not yet faced in one-on-one competition...to be decided by a spin of the wheel(dubbed "Dario's Dial Of Doom").  (He conveniently left Rey out of the running, as he had lost to Matanza in Aztec Warfare.)  The spin of the wheel gave us our championship bout...
-Matanza Cueto(w/ Dario Cueto) d. Son Of Havoc with the Wrath Of The Gods(rewind powerslam) to retain the Heavyweight Title (7:26).
-Backstage in Dario's office:  Johnny Mundo, Jack Evans, & P.J. Black(w/ Taya Valkyrie) paid a visit.  Mundo wanted his shot at Matanza...Dario said that Mundo's name was on the wheel, but fortune wasn't on his side.  On top of that, he and his buddies lost the Trios Titles at Ultima Lucha Dos...Mundo blamed that on Angélico and he noted that they "took care of him" (with footage of the quartet beating him down in the parking lot and slamming his injured leg in a car door).  They all get a good laugh out of that...but Dario still wouldn't give him a title shot.  Mundo altered his strategy, demanding a match with Sexy Star for the Gift Of The Gods Title so he could use that title to challenge Matanza.  Cueto noted that Mundo had still lost at Ultima Lucha...but Taya hadn't, so she gets the title shot at Sexy Star instead.
-Ivelisse Velez spoke her mind in the ring...she said that Catrina Perez had cost her matches at both editions of Ultima Lucha, so she wanted to face Catrina at Ultima Lucha Tres so she could get her first Ultima Lucha win AND deal with Catrina in one shot.  Catrina BAMFed into the balcony to accept her challenge...
-Sexy Star d. Taya Valkyrie to retain the Gift Of The Gods Title; Jack Evans & P.J. Black distracted the ref as Johnny Mundo attempted to interfere, but Taya hit Mundo by mistake and Sexy got the pin with a small package (4:33).  Mundo and company attacked Sexy Star afterwards, but Trios Champions Fenix, Drago, & Aero Star made the save.
-Backstage in Dario's office:  Dario met with Marty Martinez...Cueto commented that he is an innocent man and he doesn't want anyone talking about his "unfortunate vacation".  Marty was looking for an opportunity, but Dario noted that he's still got Killshot's dogtags and Killshot wants to get them back.  Next week, it will be Killshot vs. Marty The Moth in a "Weapons Of Mass Destruction Match".
-Rey Misterio Jr. d. Pentagon Dark; Pentagon left the ring to hurt threats at Vampiro, causing him to leave the broadcast table.  That allowed Rey to mount a comeback and win after a 619 and Canadian Destroyer (8:18).  Pentagon got some post-match vengeance by pulling Rey off the turnbuckles into a Razor's Edge, then threatened to snap Rey's arm until Dragon Azteca Jr. ran him off.
-Backstage:  Prince Puma was brooding over his loss to Rey at Ultima Lucha Dos...Vampiro approached him, saying he'd been there and offered his guidance.  Vampiro said that Puma hadn't been the same since his title loss to Mil Muertes, so his problems went further back than the Rey feud and he had to redeem himself against Mil to exorcise his demons.  Puma wondered if Vampiro wanted him to fight Pentagon on his behalf, but Vampiro laughed off that suggestion and said he just wanted to help Puma...
