I hadn't signed up for this year's contest, so Bruce Veach asked me to host the Wednesday night contest shows. That meant keeping time, minimal introductions, and performing for several minutes while the judges' votes were tallied. I'm still working on the Tide pod joke and it hasn't been working as well in recent times...I imagine it's becoming less topical as time goes on. Congrats to the four who advanced to the next round: Shon Don, Tom Brown, Johnny Pants, and Spencer Tegtmeyer! Also, two comedians advanced to the wildcard night: Jerry Wuhl and Gary Schultz!
