Saturday NGW Results From Mascoutah, IL + Other Show Results

-Ring announcer:  Phoenix Quinn.  Referees:  ? & ?.  Commentators:  The Gudo & James Alan Marks.
-Jose El Magnifico d. Savveon Ayers(w/ Karter Riley & Jason Halbert) via frog slpash (9:05).
-Jake Prater d. "The Modern Viking" Dir Kolthar after a running knee strike to the back (6:38).
-"The Shooter" Jerry Morgan d. Dangerous Dee(substituting for the absent Logan Ridge) with the Sharpshooter to retain the Lightning Division Title (12:06).  After the match, Heavyweight Champion "The King Of Chaos" Ricky Cruz, "The Standard" Chris Vance Jr., & Nikki Monroe made their way out and gave a thumbs-down signal...prompting Morgan(who had been a fan favorite in NGW) to attack Dee from behind and reapply the Sharpshooter.  That was Morgan's acceptance of the invitation to join Cruz's new stable.  Jose El Magnifico(who became top contender to Morgan's title with his earlier win) vowed to beat Morgan for the championship.
-Master Class(Dexter Roswell & Karter Riley)(w/ Savveon Ayers & Jason Halbert) d. D.B. Carter & Donnell Benjamin to retain the Tag Team Titles.  Miscommunication the side of the challengers led to Carter turning on Benjamin and joniing the Master Class stable; the beating ended with Roswell delivering a flying boot to Benjamin and scoring the pin (10:06).
-"The Standard" Chris Vance Jr.(w/ Nikki Monroe) d. "The Ticking Time Bomb Of Asskickery" Macellus Knyght after a mule kick behind the referee's back set up a DDT for the victory (with Nikki holding Knyght's foot from outside the ring) (13:05).
-"The Goddess Of the Night" Nyxx d. Lexxi Green after a jumping DDT to retain the Women's Title (7:22).
-"The King Of Chaos" Ricky Cruz d. "The Chairman" Curtis Payne by reversed decision to retain the Heavyweight Title.  The referee stopped Cruz from using the title belt as a weapon, but that allowed Cruz to bring Payne's chair into play...however, it backfired as Payne delivered Paydirt onto the chair to score the victory (10:42)!  Tihis brought out Chris Vance Jr. & Jrrry Morgan(w/ Nikki Monroe) who had previously been ejected from ringside for a huge beatdown on Payne.  Justin Savage called the rest of the dressing room out to ringside to restore order, but Cruz's group took a ringside photographer hostage to keep them at bay.  Morgan locked Camear Guy in the Sharpshooter and Cruz demanded a decision reversal due to the use of the chair, otherwise Vance would deliver a Blackout Stomp to the innocent bystander.  Savage seemed to relent and said Cruz could have his belt back, but Vance delivered the Blackout Stomp anyway...the other wrestlers finally jumped in the ring as Cruz and company retreated.
-NOTES:  Didn't feel up to making a long drive this weekend, so I made my way to New Genesis Wrestling for the first time in a while.  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Hot dog, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper.  The crowd was smaller but they were energetic for the whole show, incluidng the heel heat-heavy conclusion.  Pro Wrestling Epic and SICW had events earlier in the day, while there were also a couple of other shows in the evening for those willing to make longer dr ives (Midwest Throwdown Wrestling and Zero-One USA)...this area keeps me busy to say the least.  Next weekend looks like SICW in Herculaneum on Friday and then either SICW in Fairmont City/East St. Louis or Midwest Wrestling Coalition in Godfrey on Saturday.
-As always:  Good night, good luck, and #yaywrestling.
