WWE Raw
-Commentators: Jerry Lawler & Voldemort.
-World Champion Daniel Bryan(w/ A.J. Lee) d. WWE Champion C.M. Punk(n/t) by DQ; the commentators were joined by Raw General Manager Johnny Ace(w/ David Otunga) and Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long(w/ Santino Marella). Otunga tried to get involved only to be stopped by Santino, sparking a ringside argument between the GMs. The referee tried to separate them and Bryan attempted to walk away, only to be nailed by Sheamus O'Shaunessy and tossed back in the ring. Punk hit the Go 2 Sleep, but Ace stopped the referee from making a three-count and told him about Sheamus' interference, leading to the disqualification. Punk left with his belt as the GMs continued their "discussion"...but Chris Jericho(who had verbally sparred with Punk before the match) jumped Punk in the aisle and slammed him on the entrance stage before locking him in the Walls Of Jericho.
-Kelly K d. Nikki Bella(w/ Brie) by reversing an O'Connor Roll and bridging for the pin.
-John Cena d. Mike Mizanin via STF.
-Primo & Epico Colon(w/ Rosa Mendes) won a triple threat match with Dolph Ziggler & U.S. Champion Jack Swagger and "R-Truth" Ron Killings & Kofi Kingston to retain the Tag Team Titles; Epico stole the pin on Swagger after Kofi's Trouble In Paradise and Primo's backcracker. Kane showed up to chokeslam everyone after the match.
-Sheamus O'Shaunessy & The Big Show d. Mark Henry & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes; Cody ran away from Show after Show speared Henry. Sheamus tagged himself into the match and finished off Henry with the Brogue Kick.
-FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO RAW and all that...John Cena had something to say too.

NWA Anarchy TV #317
Commentators: Tim E.D. & John Johnson.
Nemesis corners Johnson to start the show, looking for revenge for the Ambassadors' previous attack on Shadow Jackson. Nemesis calls out Jacoby Boykins & Chris Mayne, but Johnson hits Nemesis with a cheapshot from behind...the Ambassadors take advantage of that situation. The locker room finally empties to chase off the heels.
The Hate Junkies(Dany Only & Stryknyn) vs. The Texas Tornadoes(Galan Ramirez & Jacob Kilgore): So who are the faces in this matchup? Oddly enough, it turns out to be the Hate Junkies as the Tornadoes dish out some double-team abuse on Stryknyn. Only gets a hot tag and cleans house while Stryknyn disposes of Kilgore on the floor...then Only brings Stryknyn back in for the Hate Crime(assisted superbomb) and pin on Ramirez. The fans approve!
Young Lions' Gauntlet Match: Each segment of the match has a five-minute time limit, so there can be a double-elimination through a time-limit draw...the winner gets a future title shot at new champion Anthony Henry. We start with tag team partners C.B. Gibson and Tommy Daniels...after some good competitive action, Gibson gets the three-count with a Code Red.
Gibson tries to help his partner but Daniels just rolls out of the ring...allowing the third entrant(The Vandal) to attack Gibson from behind. Daniels notably remains at ringside, then jumps up on the apron to argue with the referee...conveniently screwing up his partner's attempt to hit the ropes. Vandal bashes Gibson out of the ring...Daniels throws his partner back into the fray, leading to Vandal finishing the job with an Eye Of The Hurricane.
Competitor number four is Dustin Knight who hits the ring with a flurry of offense on Vandal...Vandal endures the assault, making a good impression in his Anarchy debut. However, Knight comes back to win with a flying neckbreaker.
Entry #5 is Andrew Pendleton III...they have a strong exchange leading to AP3 getting the cheap rollup with feet on the ropes.
#6 is Jacob Ashworth...he's not happy about Pendleton's underhanded tactics. AP3 offers a handshake but Ashworth sees the cheapshot coming a mile away. Pendleton blocks Ashes To Ashes(full nelson wheelbarrow faceplanet) but Jacob maneuvers into the inverted swinging neckbreaker instead and gets the three-count!
#7 is Skirra Corvus...so this is an interesting face vs. face finale. Corvus is fresh but Ashworth cuts him off with his power advantage. Ashworth tries to set up a superplex, but Corvus fights him off and nails the Steamboat Press for the three-count and the victory! The two shake hands after the match...Corvus has a future shot at the Young Lions' Title!
Slim J & Bryan Cassanova vs. Se7en & Lane Vasser(w/ Jeff G. Bailey) for the Tag Team Titles: Bailey enlightens us before the matchup...the agent/attorney took measures to bar Mikael Judas from the building for the night and also ensured that Brodie Ray Chase wouldn't get involved either. Slim J doesn't even wait for an opening bell before attacking his former protege Vasser and the champs control the opening minutes of the match. Chaos breaks loose quickly as powerhouses Cassanova and Se7en lock horns...Cassanova gets the better of that exchange and the champs stand tall in the ring. Once the heels regroup, Vasser overpowers Slim J in short order, putting the challengers in firm control. Slim J hits Vasser with the Screwdriver On The Rocks out of nowhere, giving him the opening to reach his corner...but Cassanova enters the ring before a tag...and turns on his partner! Cassanova drops Slim J with a TKO and Vasser makes the cover for the pin as Cassanova goes over to embrace Bailey...ladies and gentlemen, we have new Tag Team Champions AND we have a heel turn!
The newly-expanded NWA Elite commences with the post-match beatdown in earnest...Johnny Dangerous tries to make the save but is woefully overmatched by the manpower in the ring. The locker room empties but the faces get bulldozed(Tommy Daniels notably thinks better of trying to help). That's how we're closing the show this week...

Comedy Part 432: Bruce's Basketball Benefit Bash
Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Me
Lineup: Robert Friday, Brian Kinsella, Nick Branson, Aaron Brooks, Bruce Veach
Fun show last Friday night...felt like I had a decent enough set. I still have a lot to learn about being an emcee...I attended a workshop with Ryan Stout and Jeremy Essig on Sunday and picked up on a few things I neglected on Friday. Been busy lately so I haven't written nearly as much as I would like...haven't been on stage very often either. Of course, that's my own fault for a variety of reasons...there are plenty of weekly comedy shows in the area. I've been giving a lot of thought to taking a break from comedy so I can get my other affairs in order...with gas prices rising again, it would be a good idea to cut back on expenses.

-Commentators: Josh Mathews & S. William Regal. Emcee: Matt Striker.
-Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins interrupted Striker's opening segment, bringing out Tyson Kidd for a rebuttal...
-Tyson Kidd d. Tyler Reks(w/ Curt Hawkins) by blocking a legdrop between the legs(a la Bret Hart) and maneuvering Reks into the Sharpshooter. Hawkins was ejected from ringside midway through the match.
-Derrick Bateman & Maxine Perez have a "heart-to-heart" backstage before Derrick has a friendly conversation with Kaitlyn Bonin. Of course, Johnny Curtis has to chime in...so Kaitlyn hits him in the nuts. Ha ha.
-Kaitlyn visits Striker's office and is immediately followed by Maxine...sounds like a match for next week.
-Kidd talks to Trent Barreta on his cellphone backstage(he's apparently nursing an injury)...but he's interrupted by Michael McGillicutty storming into the locker room. Kidd tries to be diplomatic, but McGillicutty retorts that Kidd isn't actually from a wrestling family like he is. Okay, there's another match for next week...
-Titus O'Neil d. Alex Riley; guest commentator Darren Young nearly got involved early in the matchup, which brought out Percy Watson to pick up another headset. Riley pummeled O'Neil in the corner but Titus powerbombed him down to the mat and got the pin with feet on the ropes. Striker announced a grudge tag match for next week, also teasing a Major Announcement(tm)...

Comedy Part 431: Joe-Case Showdown
Location: Brennan's
Emcee: Joe Murray
After: J.C. Sibala
Before: Rob Durham
Haven't performed at Brennan's too often...did one of the debates and also did one of Matt Conty's shows a few months ago. Good crowd last night...though I probably shouldn't have done some of my bitter-about-women material to a largely female audience. Live and learn! I did learn to reword one of my jokes to make it more clear...will need to try that out at my next open-mic. Felt like I had a good set in general...haven't been on stage too often lately. I will be back on stage at Bruce Veach's benefit show on Friday at Comedy Etc....showtime is 10:15!

WWE Smackdown
-Commentators: Josh Mathews, Booker T, & Voldemort.
-The opening segment saw Mike Mizanin interrupt a promo by World Champion Daniel Bryan(w/ A.J. Lee), attempting to hog the credit for Bryan's success. This brought out Sheamus O'Shaunessy and Bryan was all too happy to bail when tempers flared between those two...
-Sheamus O'Shaunessy d. Mike Mizanin with the Celtic Cross.
-Dolph Ziggler & U.S. Champion Jack Swagger(w/ Vickie Guerrero) d. "R-Truth" Ron Killings & Kofi Kingston when Ziggler pinned Kofi after a thumb to the eye followed by the Zigzag.
-The Great Khali d. Drew McIntyre with the Punjabi Plunge.
-The Big Show vs. Mark Henry ended in a no-contest; Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes distrated Show with a video of his WrestleMania sumo match with Akebono, giving Henry the opening to deliver a bodyslam and big splash. However, Show kicked out of the ensuing pin cover and PUNCHed Henry out before chasing Cody to the back.
-David Otunga(w/ Raw General Manager Johnny Ace) d. Ezekiel Jackson(w/ Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long) via Verdict spinebuster.
-WWE Champion C.M. Punk fought World Champion Daniel Bryan to a double-pin finish. Bryan tried to walk out of the match only for Sheamus to throw him back in the ring, leading to Punk hitting a big roundhouse kick and scoring a pinfall. BUT WAIT~! Johnny Ace called outside interference and ordered a restart, remaining at ringside. Bryan went on to reverse an O'Connor Roll and hold the ropes for a tainted three-count(right in front of Ace, no less)...which brought out Long to order another restart. The actual finish happened when Bryan delivered a superplex and attempted to float over into a pinning combination, but Punk small-packaged him...and the referee counted BOTH men's shoulders down. This led to the unusual situation of each General Manager pleading the case of the other guy's champion...

SICW Special Comment
Very good crowd in East Carondelet...hadn't been to a show there since September but I've kept track of SICW through the TV show.
Opening tag match didn't have much flow to it...I think Raze and Archer had teamed before but I don't think LMC and Lyte had joined forces. I've said recently that tag team wrestling is becoming a lost art and I reluctantly stand by that statement. Look at how many local groups don't even bother to have Tag Titles. I sometimes wonder if the Missouri/Illinois Tag Titles would be better served on the SICW side as they have a deeper talent pool without the Missouri licensing concerns.
Big push for Hargas as he won the tag match despite miscommunication and then won the Wrestle Royal at the end of the night. He had trouble positioning the larger Rudolph for the F-5 and settled on a modified F-U instead...still an impressive feat of strength.
Slightly overbooked Powers-Cruz match but they've done a good job of building up that feud. Will the best-of-three-falls match next month be the end of it?
I know that MMWA and SICW are technically separate groups nowadays, but Chase King didn't get much momentum out of that T.V. Title win...
Key moments of the Wrestle Royal included gang-attacks to get rid of the biggest competitors(Texan and Rudolph), Hargas fighting with Vaughn and eventually eliminating him, and a revival of the recent Jackson-Hargas issue at the end. Hargas got the upset pin on Gary to close the night...it seemed like they were positioning Hargas to take the title from Powers, but now the feud with Cruz has taken center stage.
I've seen it happen during intermissions and after shows in the past...kids want to play around in the ring. That can be tough to control at shows with no guardrails/barricades, but the ring can be very dangerous and the organization could be held liable if a child gets hurt in that environment. Even trained wrestlers get hurt in there, you know?
I was feeling a bit under the weather this past week so I passed on the Sunday Bethalto show...can't get around as much these days. :P
St. Louis Anarchy next weekend...will need to take a look at the March schedule and see what's on tap...

-Bo Rotundo & Husky Harris d. Brad Maddox & Eli Cottonwood to win the vacant Tag Team Titles when Bo pinned Maddox after the spear. Maddox blamed Eli for the loss and got chokeslammed.

-Road Dog pays a visit to the FCW Arena and joins the commentary team for the main event, whatever that might be. Road Dog calls Byron "Jonathan Coachman Jr.", wow. Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger issues an open(non-title) challenge in lieu of his scheduled title defense against Leakee. If that person wins, Kruger will graciously grant that person a title shot in the near future...but if that person loses, he won't get any more opportunities. He throws a passing insult in Road Dog's direction before introducing his "hand-picked" opponent...
-Mike Dalton d. Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger in a non-title match; Dalton got several near-falls in a row and Kruger attempted to retreat, but Road Dog threw him back into the ring. That allowed Dalton to capitalize with KICK WHAM ELEVATED DDT for the upset victory!

-Seth Delay d. Skirra Corvus to retain the T.V. Title by rolling through a Steamboat Press and holding the tights.
-NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers enlightens us...he blames Heavyweight Champion Azrael for screwing up his shot at the NWA World Title. Commissioner Brodie Ray Chase makes his entrance...he orders Tempers to defend his title against Billy Buck in two weeks. Buck has no problem with the stipulation, but Brodie adds his own wrinkle...the title can change hands on a countout or DQ. Tempers agrees and Chase makes it official...then Buck superkicks him on the way out. Ha ha.
-Se7en & Lane Vasser(w/ Jeff G. Bailey) d. Tag Team Champions Slim J & Bryan Cassanova by DQ; Cassanova was MIA so Slim J fought by himself. However, the numbers caught up to Judas as Vasser attacked Judas from behind, setting him up for Se7en's chokeslam...Vasser hit Judas with his fireman's-carry spinebuster after that. Brodie Ray Chase finally brought several wrestlers to the ring to restore order, threatening to fine the NWA Elite members if they didn't back off.

Comedy Part 430: Back To The Stage
Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Aaron Brooks
Feature: Mike Brody
Headliner: Mike Toomey
Seemed like it had been a while since I'd been on stage...actually tried a few new jokes in my Friday night guest set. They seemed to work fairly well, but it was hard to get a read on the audience as they were very chatty at times. Still had a good time...been pondering a break in the near future depending on how much personal schedule shapes up. We shall see...

MMWA Special Comment
Packed house at the South Broadway Athletic Club on Saturday night...
The audio guy was having problems all night...the audience started singing the National Anthem on their own until he finally got it cued up. Heh.
Heavyweight Champion Brandon Espinosa received an award from the Missouri Wrestling Revival website for 2011 Wrestler Of The Year...in his acceptance speech, he took a few shots at local guys who had been critical of him in the past. As far as I'm personally concerned...let success be your best response in that situation.
The "one title at a time" rule is usually consistent, though I remember the T.V. Title being started with Gary Jackson when he was already Heavyweight Champion.
Selling is a regular critique on the independent level...particularly when a wrestler is back up fairly quickly after taking a big finishing move. I THINK Texan delivered some kind of foreign object shot but I may have missed it. That double-underhook powerbomb was almost an accidental Tiger Driver '91.
Archer nearly had Chase King beaten after his Michinoku Driver finisher but pulled him up...rarely a good move. King went on to win with Paydirt...which means another Espinosa protege holds a title in MMWA.
I really don't know who they're building up to challenge Espinosa other than Gary(who already has ye olde rematch clause). Fine matchup...Osborne attempted to use the Brodus Clay cross-bodyblock but didn't find the mark, leading to the small package finish. Funny early spot as Osborne threw Gary over the top rope to the floor and celebrated like he'd won(Battle Royal Champion!).
I was asked to do commentary with Tim Miller and Keith for Frankie D vs. Tony Raze...that was an interesting experience. I did my best to push the background of the match: Jimmy D originally resurfaced in MMWA as Raze's tag partner but then Raze won the belts with Texan, so Jimmy cost them the belts back to the Lumberjacks and brought in his brother Frankie as his new/old partner. Didn't catch Raze getting a foot on the bottom rope until after I was off-mic...but the referee missed it too(though the cover was fairly close to the ropes).
Espinosa tried to bring one of his OVW gimmicks to MMWA(putting a dress on his opponent) but Ace was having none of that. Another strong matchup between those two...though like I said, I don't see them building up many future challenges for Espy besides Gary.
Ring announcer Ben Simon informed me after the fact that Vaughn refused the no-DQ stipulation that Ricky Cruz wanted last month...okay then. Vaughn indirectly ends Cruz's undefeated streak in Midwest wrestling...technically Gary SHOULD have a beef with both guys as Vaughn's interference cost him the match but it was Cruz's distration of the referee that allowed it to happen in the first place.
Rest of the month looks like SICW(East Carondelet), the benefit show in Bethalto, and SLA...

FCW TV
Your hosts are Byron Saxton & S. William Regal, your ring announcer is Caylee Turner.
Kaitlyn Bonin & Audrey Marie vs. Women's Champion/Queen Raquel Diaz & Sofia Cortez: Sofia is former Tough Enough contestant Ivelisse Velez. Raquel and Sofia utilize some unique teamwork to isolate Audrey, then Sofia hits a nasty-looking Stungun. Sofia knocks Kaitlyn off the apron but Audrey attempts to rally despite the lack of a hot tag. Kaitlyn tangles with Raquel and they take the fight to the floor...meanwhile, Audrey pins Cortez with a bridging O'Connor Roll for the win.
Damien Sandow(w/ spotlight) enlightens us...he wants his rematch with new FCW 15 Champion Richie Steamboat whether the medallion's on the line or not.
Tag Team Champions Brad Maddox & Briley Pierce vs. Eli Cottonwood & Corey Graves, non-title: It's been a long time since we've seen Eli in the ring...this could be an interesting pairing. Byron informs Regal that Maddox has been a mentor to Briley...Regal notes that students usually turn on their teachers and he knows that from first-hand experience. The champs do okay against Graves with their tag team CONTINUITY~!...but Eli yanks Maddox out of the ring by the hair to stop their momentum. Brad is able to get away long enough to tag in Pierce and he rallies against Graves, but Eli tags himself into the match without Briley's knowledge. IT'S THE BIG FOOT, chokeslam, goodbye...that was decisive.
Abraham Washington pays a visit to Dr. James Bronson...Abe thinks it's a psychiatric examination, but Bronson puts on a rubber glove and Abe declares the appointment over.
Seth Rollins vs. Roman Leakee vs. Dean Ambrose; Winner gets the next shot at Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger. Regal knows Ambrose very well, of course...and it doesn't take long for Dean to notice Regal's presence at the broadcast table. Rivals Rollins and Ambrose work together against Leakee...that's an interesting alliance. However, Dean ends it by clotheslining Seth out of the ring and quickly small-packaging Leakee...for two. Seth returns fire by low-bridging Ambrose out of the ring, then springboards into the ring only to take a fist to the gut from Leakee. Ambrose re-enters and counters Leakee's Checkmate bulldog by taking him down into the Regal Stretch, greatly amusing a member of our broadcast team. Leakee barely reaches the ropes to escape...then Seth levels Dean with a springboard clothesline and sends Leakee out of the ring with Avada Kedavra! Seth covers Dean...for two. Ambrose blocks another Avada Kedavra attempt and drops Seth with an atomic facebuster...for two. Dean lowers the kneepad to set up for a knee trembler, but Seth avoids it and hits a jumping enzuigiri! Dean avoids an advanced curbstomp but Seth crosses everyone up by running the ropes into a suicide dive on Leakee. Seth re-enters with an enzuigiri from the apron on Dean...phoenix splash misses but Seth rolls through, kicking off a furious exchange of strikes between the two. Both turn to bash Leakee off the apron, then return their attention to each other. Ambrose hits Seth with the knee trembler, then follows up with a lariat and sets up for the Midnight Special. However, Leakee enters and picks up BOTH men on his shoulders at the same time for a Samoan Drop! Leakee clotheslines Rollins out of the ring, then plants Ambrose with the Checkmate bulldog for the victory!
Earlier today: Regal gave Danielle Moinet a tour of the facility...and General Manager Maxine Perez felt like Mr. Regal was taking too much of a "hands-on" approach.
Bo Rotundo vs. Nick Rogers: This is Bo's return to the ring after an injury caused a premature end to his Heavyweight Title reign. Rogers tries to attack the previously-lacerated kidney but that just ticks Rotundo off...and he finishes in short order with the spear.
FCW 15 Champion Richie Steamboat vs. Damien Sandow, non-title: Sandow is going old-school with no theme music...just "LIGHTS! SPOTLIGHT!" Thank you for your irrelevant opinion! It doesn't take long for tempers to flare...a missed corner splash allows Sandow to dump Richie on the top rope with a half-slingshot suplex. Steamboat fires back with an aerial assault, delivering the spinaround neckbreaker...but he can't make an immediate cover and Sandow kicks out of the pin attempt. Damien rolls out of the ring and Richie pulls him back in...but Damien gets a hold of a wrench from under the ring and nails Steamboat with it! Whoops, the referee sees it and that's a DQ...not that the title was on the line or anything. Sandow gloats about his actions and holds up the medallion before dropping it on the unconscious champion...
Next week: Leo Kruger vs. Roman Leakee for the Heavyweight Title. So long from the Sunshine State!

NWA Anarchy TV #314
Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson...time to wrap up Seasons' Beatings.
The Urban Assault Squad vs. The Hate Junkies, Hangman Match: Shadow Jackson & Nemesis rush the ring to attack Dany Only & Stryknyn...the only way to win this match is to hang both opponents over the top rope with nooses. Stryknyn attempts to retrieve one of the nooses but Nemesis gives him a back suplex on the entrance ramp. Nemesis brings that noose into the ring while Stryknyn re-enters with the other one. Stryknyn teases a piledriver on the floor but Shadow counters by catapulting him into the broadcast stand! Shadow hangs Only over the top rope but Stryknyn hands Only a chair to bash Shadow in the head. The Junkies throw multiple chairs into the ring and abuse Shadow until Nemesis finally gets back into the fight. However, Only back-suplexes Nemesis onto the pile of chairs and then hangs Jackson over the ropes...Stryknyn goes after Nemesis, but Nemesis hangs onto the ropes and fights back. The brawl continues outside the ring for several minutes...Nemesis and Only brawl on one side of the ring as a bloody Stryknyn DDTs Shadow on the floor! Only is left bloody from taking a chair to the head...and Shadow and Nemesis get their second wind. Shadow hits the Stunner on Only followed by a senton fron Nemesis, then Stryknyn gets the same treatment! Shadow hits the 1031 Spinebuster on Only, dropping him on Stryknyn...then Nemesis sentons both men at once! The hanging is a formality at this point...your winners, the Urban Assault Squad!
Adam Pearce vs. Heavyweight Champion Azrael vs. NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers, three-way dance for the NWA World Title: Pearce has no theme music because he's OLDSCHOOL~! Azrael gets the most positive crowd reaction during the introductions...hmm. Pearce politely suggests that Azrael and Tempers settle their own differences while he watches from the floor. However, Azrael and Tempers yank Pearce into the ring instead and it's two-on-one against the champ. They were Anarchy Tag Team Champions together, though they aren't exactly on the same page nowadays as only one can win this match. They double-clothesline Pearce to the floor and Shaun tells Azrael to bring him back in the ring...then rolls up Azrael for a near-fall. Ha ha.
Azrael doesn't take kindly to Tempers' actions and goes on the attack, only for Pearce to trip him up and yank him to the floor. That leaves Pearce and Tempers to battle in the ring...these two have fought in the past with the belt on the line. Azrael re-enters the fray as we get several sequences with each pairing in the match. Johnson notes the implications of a title change as Azrael or Tempers would have to forfeit their previous championship to take on the commitments of the NWA World Champion. Pearce gets Azrael in a sleeper and Tempers gets PEARCE in a sleeper, raising the question of how THIS would work...but Azrael rakes the eyes of both men to break it up. Pearce belly-to-belly suplexes Tempers, Azrael stuns Pearce with a jumping enzuigiri, Tempers drops Azrael with an overhead suplex, then Pearce levels Tempers with a huge LARIATOOOO that sends him clear out of the ring!
Now everyone is down...Johnson says that if Pearce is eliminated by countout or DQ, the belt doesn't change hands. Azrael sets up a superplex on Pearce but Tempers takes Azrael down from the ropes with a Russian legsweep...for two. Tempers tries for a top-rope Rude Awakening on Pearce but the champion elbows him away...and Azrael catches Tempers in the Ted Bundy(Hellevator) out of nowhere for the first elimination!
Azrael goes back after Pearce and hits another jumping enzuigiri...then the frog splash/elbowdrop! Cover...but Tempers puts Pearce's foot on the bottom rope! Tempers won't leave ringside and mouths off to Azrael...distracting him long enough for Pearce to regain his senses. Pearce keeps up the pressure but can't seem to keep Azrael down...however, a huge LARIATOOOOO finally does the job and Pearce retains the NWA World Title!
NWA Anarchy security members help Pearce to his feet...but Pearce grabs one and gives him a piledriver before celebrating with his belt. He gives the poor kid a SECOND piledriver...boo that man!

Comedy Part 429: Pardon The Interruption
Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Aaron Brooks
Feature: Chris Smith
Headliner: Mike Green
Should have asked a bit sooner about a guest set on Saturday's late show, but thankfully Art Vieluf was cool about it. I kept it short and sweet...don't think I tried anything overly new, just kept it to a quick solid set. Fun weekend of shows(I was there Friday and also watched both shows Saturday)...the late show was slightly marred by an unruly customer who threw a beer bottle at the wall as he was being ejected. Don't see that too often...though the Viking helmet may have been a tipoff about the guy's mindset...

Superstars & Smackdown
Quick note for local wrestling fans: The IHW show has been postponed until 3/24.
WWE Superstars.com
Your hosts are Josh Mathews, Matt Striker, & Scott Stanford.
Yoshi Tatsu vs. Jinder Mahal: Solid opener...Yoshi rallies but misses the spinning heel kick off the top rope. Mahal mows him down with a knee to the back of the head from behind, then finishes with the camel clutch.
Kelly K & Alicia Fox vs. The Bella Twins: Stanford calls it a half-rematch from the eight-woman tag at the Royal Rumble. Kelly gets the win with the K-2(Rocker Dropper) on...um...a Bella.
U.S. Champion Jack Swagger(w/ Vickie Guerrero) vs. "R-Truth" Ron Killings, non-title: R-Truth is a former U.S. Champion himself...of course, a win here would put him right back in title contention. Pretty big match for Superstars. YAY WRESTLING~! to start...of course Swagger is well-versed in that department but Truth does fine on his end of things. R-Truth gets a good run of offense including a huge plancha, but Vickie distracts him and Swagger kicks out his leg before landing a Swaggerbomb. Swagger keeps him down and works on the back, but Truth kicks his way back into things and victory-rolls him out of nowhere...for two. DDT...for two. Swagger reverses a whip into a leg takedown and anklelock attempt but R-Truth kicks him off and drop-toeholds him into a position for an axe kick attempt...which misses. Swagger nails a clothesline and flying shoulderblock, then goes for his second Swaggerbomb of the match...Truth gets the boot up but Swagger sees it coming and grabs him for an anklelock attempt! Undaunted, R-Truth rolls through to send Jack into the turnbuckles...Paydirt HITS and R-Truth beats the U.S. Champion!
WWE Smackdown
Your hosts are Josh Mathews, Booker T, & Voldemort.
General Manager Theodore Long announces the Elimination Chamber participants for Smackdown: World Champion Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, The Big Show, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Mark Henry, and Randy Orton. Mark Henry arrives to complain about not getting a one-on-one shot at the title...and he's perfectly willing to intimidate Long into giving him that shot. Long doesn't take kindly to that...so he takes him out of the Chamber match AND indefinitely suspends him for putting his hands on him! Henry decides to get his money's worth, but Sheamus O'Shaunessy makes the save and lays out Henry with the Brogue Kick! Sheamus still hasn't made his decision on his WrestleMania title shot and says he'll wait until after the Elimination Chamber for that. This brings out Cody...have there been any dual champions since The Ultimate Warrior? Anywho, Long decides an impromptu match is in order...
Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Sheamus O'Shaunessy, non-title: Fine matchup as I shift into coasting mode...Sheamus has been taking a few pages out of Fit Finlay's playbook lately as he's been using the Regal Roll. After a nice sequence of finisher evasions, Sheamus finishes with the actual Celtic Cross(Finlay's Air Raid Crash/Emerald Frosion finisher).
Justin Gabriel vs. Hunico(w/ Donny Camacho): The match doesn't even get started because Rhodes(still fuming at ringside) jumps Gabriel from behind. The heels triple-team Gabriel until The Great Khali makes the save. JUDO CHOPS~! Hunico takes the Punjabi Plunge as Rhodes wisely retreats. Later in the show, we're told that Khali has been granted Henry's spot in the Elimination Chamber because...um...I'll get back to you on that.
Tag Team Champions Primo & Epico Colon(w/ Rosa Mendes) vs. Santino Marella & Hacksaw Jim Duggan, non-title: Santino's on the hunt for a new regular tag team partner, as you may have guessed. Rosa's distraction allows Primo to get the win over Santino with the backcracker.
Even Voldemort is finally warming up to World Champion Daniel Bryan, thus cementing his heel turn. The Big Show interrupts his promo and Bryan finally pushes him too far, earning himself a chokeslam. A neckbraced A.J. Lee comes out to stand up for her man, stopping Show from delivering the PUNCH and taking Bryan out of the ring...
Tamina Snuka & Aksana Raudoniene vs. Women's Champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya Neidhart: Even Beth is getting tired of Natalya's recent losing streak as she tags herself into the match, finishing Aksana quickly with the Glam Slam. Nattie looks for post-match retribution with the Sharpshooter on Aksana, but Tamina superkicks her and delivers a Superfly Splash for fun.
Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett, no-DQ match: Hard-hitting hardcore-style matchup...a table comes into play but Wade fights out of Randy's superplex attempt to shove him backwards through the table. Both men use chairs at different points in the match...Wade powers out of an RKO attempt to hit the Bossman Slam but Orton gets a foot on the bottom rope. Barrett looks to finish with a pumphandle slam but Randy escapes the move to hit the RKO...then delivers a second RKO onto the chair for the win.
Next week: Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton.
