Saturday CHWA Results From Edwardsville, IL

-Ring announcer:  Chris Roedel.  Referees:  Will Schuiltz & Hadley Hardin.  Commentators:  Patrick Brandmeyer, Luke Roberts, Tom Simon, The Guido, & "The Human Wrecking Ball" Pete Madden (two at a time, thankfully).
-Gateway To Glory Tournament Semifinal:  Jalon Strong d. "Parasyte" Tyler Nyte after the Cahokia Cutter(double-jump springboard somersault Cutter) (7:49).  The masked man from recent events entered the ring after the referee was knocked down, but delivered a cheapshot to Parasyte instead of targeting Strong.
-Jake Gold d. Navi Kai via rollup with a handful of tights (5:34 plus Gold's stalling on the floor before the opening bell).  Navi was visibly frustrated over the loss and how it occurred.
-Shylo Nights d. Rosaleen Grimm with a rollup to retain the International Title (6:52).  Big Daddy Dion attacked Shylo as she was walking back through the curtain and vowed to get payback on her for what he claimed she "took" from him.
-Gateway To Glory Tournament Semifinal:  Ramsey Rancid(w/ Waylon Phoenix, Alister Crow, & masked follower) d. "The Mother Of Butterflies" Madi Monarch after the Eat Defeat (4:52).
-The STL Connection(Andrew "The Wolf" Wilder & "The Black Panther" Johnathan Zulu) d. Chameleon & Nasty Juan Sanchez; Zulu pinned Chameleon after Wilder's Call Of The Wild(inverted swinging neckbreaker) followed by Zulu's splash off the second rope (7:30).  Switchblaze("Switchblade" Garrett Shanks & "The Incinerator" Shawn Blaze) attacked the champs after the bell.
-"The Anomaly" I.P. Mason(w/ "The Man On Fire" Kai Phoenix) d. "The Arkayne Assassin" Killian Kayne with the Cyberdriver(fireman's-carry Michinoku Driver) after running him into an exposed turnbuckle to retain the Undisputed CHWA Title (8:10).
-"The Silverback" Jabari King won a triple threat match with Anthony "Worldwide" Lopes and Quest Parker when he pinned Quest after the Black Thunder Bomb(belly-to-back powerbomb) (8:08).
-"The One-Man Zoo" L-Ride & "The Themme Fatale" Alexis Valentine d. Malicious Intent("The Rectifier" Waylon Phoenix & "The Victim Claimer" Alister Crow) when Valentine pinned Waylon after the Bootz The House Down(pump kick) (8:32).  Waylon & Crow beat down their opponents after the bell until ringside security attempted to restore order...only to take some abuse as well.
-Xavier Dea'Vaul won a triple threat match with Logan Simmons and "The Man On Fire" Kai Phoenix(w/ Heavyweight Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason) when he pinned Pheonix after a package piledriver (3:43).  Simmons entered the match in pirate attire and vowed to put a muzzle on Phoenix...and after the match was over, he did just that.  On top of that, Xavier recovered his book that had been stolen by Phoenix.
-Gateway To Glory Tournament Final:  Jalon Strong d. Ramsey Rancid(w/ Waylon Phoenix & Alister Crow) to win the tournament and become the new 1-Up Champion.  The referee was knocked down late in the match which brought Waylon and Crow into the ring.  However, Alexis Valentine and Killian Kayne ran out to back up Strong...and THAT brought out I.P. Mason and Kai Phoenix.  Enter L-Ride and Madi Monarch and the sides were even with everyone brawling, finally ending with the legal participants left in the ring.  Jalon was able to deliver the Cahokia Cutter and Sadie Blaze arn into the ring to make the three-count himself (13:23)!  Jalon wasted no time in calling his shot...he challenged Mason to a title match at John Holt Yo in October!
-NOTES:  Next show is Saturday 8/22.  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Chicken tenders with barbecue sauce, Mountain Dew, water.  I called all but one match (which was Luke and Tom on mic).  Attendance has continued to be solid as the consistent storylines have been clicking...John Holt Yo is coming up in October and a lot of major stories have been established going into that weekend.
