Another really good and enthusiastic crowd at South Broadway...
The opener was solid for what it was...Osborne had a distinct size advantage over Wilder. Wilder looks decent for a guy who can count his matches on one hand, though he still needs gear. Probably went a bit longer than it should have, though the match was pretty one-sided. The gimmick of always throwing his opponent over the top rope since he's Battle Royal Champion is a nice touch.
Osborne and Hawkins had a busy Saturday as they worked AAPW in Harrisburg and then drove to St. Louis for this show...admirable work ethic on their part.
Kinda depressing to see LMC lose to Jimmy D...odd to push a tag team by having them win separate one-on-one matches.
The intermission setup was unusual as they took an intermission after the second match and then another after the fourth match...though they often do a mid-show intermission and then an intermission before the final match of the night.
Archer's title win was a slight surprise but it's been a little while since a solid heel has held the Jr. Heavyweight Title. Archer hadn't held a belt since the FTW No Limits Title several years ago.
Another good matchup between Espinosa and Gary Jackson...figured they'd have hyped the rematch a bit more beforehand. Odd post-match promo from Espinosa as he thanked the fans for their support of both himself and independent wrestling in general...then let us know that we still sucked. Ha ha.
Had heard that Ian Storm was returning to the ring but the name change was a slight surprise...had heard that he wanted a fresh start. He's gotten himself into great physical shape and looked sharp considering he hadn't wrestled in a couple of years. JOHN WU DROPKICK~!
Bill Murray had wrestled as Mark Merrik a few times but seems to be going by his real name now. That might be a tricky one to use since there's a more famous individual by that name...heh. The match with Frankie D was basically a squash.
The tag title match was...yeah.
Odd way to close the show...figured the non-title match meant Vaughn was winning though Chase King has picked up a few bigger victories recently. Fairly short match, but then it was 10:30 by the time it started...
Next weekend is SICW in East Carondelet...will need to check the May schedule and see what's on tap. Looks like St. Louis Anarchy on 5/5 and MECW on 5/12.
