Dynamo Special Comment

Dynamo has been drawing some good crowds to its most recent shows...good for them. It's a business at the end of the day and the goal is to make money by selling tickets(not to mention merchandise and concessions).

I hadn't realized that it was the fifth anniversary show for Dynamo, as ring announcer Luke Roberts mentioned at the top of the show. They'd run in a few different area venues in that time before making Glen Carbon their home base.

Only three matches were announced ahead of time(and one of those was announced in the days before the show).

When the First United Church of Karrington(fun with acronyms~!) came out with the Tag Title belts in a briefcase, I immediately joked about the return of the old D.N.S. briefcase from the GCW days...heh. Never did find out what was in THAT briefcase...

Think that was Jackal's first win since returning to action with Dynamo...good for him. Oddly, his original finisher(Sliced Bread #2) was named the Killswitch, then his turnbuckle-walk Tomakazi became the Killswitch #2. Now Christian Cage's Unprettier is known as the Killswitch...odd how that worked out.

Dunno if the Rudolph/Karrington interaction was a tease of a face turn for Rudolph...we shall see.

Jake Dirden has been solid considering he's only had a handful of matches...was surprised to see him get the upset win over Sean Vincent. Oddly, Vincent was the face in the matchup while Dirden(who worked face in his previous outing) was the heel.

Hadn't seen Miss Natural at a live show before...almost didn't recognize her as her hair was different(brownish with higlights instead of black like usual). The intergender tag match started out with a lot of comedy spots before Jeff Strong and Miss Natural isolated Makaze. The green mist is a cool spot for MsChif but it seems odd for her to use it in every match, particularly when she's in the face role.

In a rare case of a prediction of mine coming to pass, I noticed at the previous show that they set up Cruz vs. Pearce without mentioning the NWA World Title being on the line. I wondered if that meant Pearce would be dropping the title in the interim...as it turned out, Pearce would lose it to Colt Cabana right after that. Cruz picked up a pretty huge win here...it could easily set up a championship match down the line if Pearce eventually regains the Ten Pounds Of Gold(tm).

Fun eight-man main event punctuated by Trent Stone's heel turn on Dan Walsh. Stone was conspicuous by his absence at the previous show and one could speculate(kayfabe-wise) that perhaps Karrington's crew got in his ear during that time. He didn't seem to interact with Karrington and company after the match, so he could have just as easily acted on his own accord...he's had heel runs in the past. Walsh will be kept busy with his former partner while other contenders go after Karrington's NWA Missouri Title...

Rough few weeks on the injury front as both Mat Fitchett(quadricep) and Davey Vega(ankle) went on the shelf...Vega is still scheduled for the next St. Louis Anarchy show but Fitchett will be out of action for several months. On top of that, Michael Strider announced his retirement after defeating Pearce at Metro Pro last Saturday...I wish that guy would have gotten a break on a bigger stage at some point.

For the rest of June...looks like MMWA, IHW, and MECW. I had heard somewhere that IHW might be off but only from one source...if that's the case, then I'll probably go to SICW that night.
