Not much to say about this show, honestly...it was a good event. It ran a bit longer than usual but that wasn't too big of a deal.
Props to Drew Abbenhaus for his ring announcing debut...nicely done. Ben Simon was filling in on camera duty with the usual operator absent.
The turnout was a bit lower than the previous month's standing-room-only crowd; there was a picnic in Dupo that evening which may have been a factor.
Bobby D's DQ win over Alexandre Rudolph was a slight surprise, but Bobby's been on a pretty good run of success lately.
Heath Hatton and Ax Allwardt have faced each other in Pro Wrestling Collision so I figured they'd work well together. Good heel work as the referee stopped Ax from using a chain as a weapon, so he pulled out a smaller chain to hit Hatton behind the official's back.
As expected, quite a few people weren't happy with how Ken Kasa won the Classic Title...including people like Ron Powers and Flash Flanagan who felt like they should have had the title shot instead.
Joker made his SICW debut against Waco...it was a fairly quick bout with Waco Cheating To Win(tm).
I thought I had heard Gary Jackson vs. The Big Texan would be on the card, but it was Jackson vs. Jake Parnell instead. I've liked Parnell's heel work so far.
Dave Vaughn can finish with a few different moves these days...the spear may not look as effective against larger opponents like Adam Raw. It took two spears to put Raw down for the count...it was the longest match of the night up to that point.
The building marquee was delightfully straightforward: "WRESTLING THIS SAT MIDGETS". :-D They got more ring time than anyone up to that point...I guess you couldn't exactly cut them short. *ducks thrown objects* In all seriousness, it was an entertaining match...Beautiful Bobby Dean and Little Kato are veterans and have been wrestling each other for a long time now. It seemed like they couldn't decide who the heel would be, but the fans enjoyed the bout nonetheless...they also sold a lot of merchandise during the second intermission.
Solid tag match with Cruz & Hargas against Powers & Flanagan...gotta consider Hargas among the contenders to Kasa's title.
Fine main event...outside distraction led to Kasa getting the flash pin to retain his title. Good setup for the GCS Stadium shows...either Herb or Travis will be getting an unwanted haircut!
FIST Combat on Friday, nothing on Saturday...will have to check up on the August schedule.
