SICW Special Comment

It was another packed house in East Carondelet for SICW's monthly offering. Didn't make it last month but it looks like they had a full venue for Hacksaw Jim Duggan's appearance. Promoter Herb Simmons was even joking that they'll need a bigger building at the rate they're going. :)

Jake Parnell worked as a face at last month's show(where he faced Alexandre Rudolph) and he was a face again for his match with Waco. Given the outcome of the main event, will Waco maintain his character?

The tag match was scheduled to have Flash Flanagan teaming with Bull Bronson, but Ax Allwardt teamed with Bronson and Flanagan wrestled Brandon Gallagher in a separate match. I had a feeling they would move toward a Ricky Cruz-Bronson feud and we're already getting a no-DQ match in December. Bronson had set up to Vaderbomb Eads after the match but Cruz hit him in the back with a chair...only for Bull to shrug it off and confront him. Eep.

Still seems odd to see Gallagher as a face. Good bout with Flanagan and it had a finish one would normally expect out of someone like Low-Ki(Tree Of Woe double-stomp).

Bobby D vs. Joker was a decent little brawl.

Is Flash Flanagan's SICW time just about up? Well, he was technically "fired"...but I imagine Ron Powers will give him an official sendoff at the next show.

Kasa escaped with the title by the skin of his teeth...this is the second time Powers has had him beaten before someone interfered for the disqualification. However, it looks like Jake Dirden may be riding his recent momentum to a future championship opportunity...we shall see. Kasa doesn't have an opponent scheduled for December yet...just saying.

If Gary Jackson had lost to The Big Texan, it would have put a serious crimp in his challenge to Mepisto at the December MMWA show...heh. Neither outcome(Gary retiring or Texan unmasking) seemed likely at the time...and wrestling retirements are a running gag in their lack of permanence.

Notably, Texan had been getting increasingly positive reactions in East Carondelet despite his heel status...to the point where the crowd was almost 50/50 for this particular bout. It seemed like Waco's backfired interference, Texan's voluntary unmasking, and the handshake with his long-time rival solidified him as a face for good.

Dynamo is running a show at Off Broadway next Tuesday...it sounds like soccer season has the Glen Carbon Sports Academy booked solid for the next little while. From what I understand, they're also planning to run at the Stratford Inn in Fenton soon.

After the Dynamo show, December has St. Louis Anarchy's Yuletide Terror in December...and the monthly offerings from MMWA and SICW will most likely wrap up the year.

As always: #yaywrestling
