-Backstage:  Mercedes Martinez was interviewed about her participation in last week's battle royal...she's disappointed that she won't be in the NXT Women's Title match.  When asked about who might be the next champion, she made a point to put down Ember Moon as someone who can't seem to win the big matches...
-"Next Level" Fabian Aichner d. Johnny Gargano with an abdominal stretch cradle (6:47 aired).
-Backstage:  NXT Champion Drew McIntyre signed his side of the Takeover contract in General Manager S. William Regal's office
-Earlier today:  The Street Profits(Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) went out of their way to admire someone's car...it turned out to be the vehicle of Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss.
-Drew made his entrance for Andrade "Cien" Almas' side of the contract signing, but Almas(w/ Zelina Vega) blindsided him on the entrance stage before signing the contract.
-Earlier today:  Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were in a bad mood over Billie not winning last week's battle royal...they added that they were not impressed by Kairi Sane.  Kairi walked past the two and gave them an elbows-up as a sign of things to come...Kairi faces Billie on next week's show.
-The Authors Of Pain(Akam Dhinsa & Rezar Selmani)(w/ Paul Ellering) d. NXT Tag Team Champions Sanity(Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe) by DQ when Adam Cole & reDRagon(Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) interfered (7:29 aired).  Killian Dain and Roderick Strong joined the brawl as Strong rejected Cole's offer to join his group.  Regal announced that Sanity, Cole/reDRagon, and Strong/Authors would face each other at Takeover in WAR GAMES.

-Dezmond Xavier won a non-title six-way match with "Rebourne" Matt Sydal, Sonjay Dutt, Umberto Garza Jr., Petey Williams, and X-Division Champion Trevor Lee(w/ "The Skywalker" Andrew Everett & Caleb Konley) when he pinned Lee after the handspring Pele kick (7:13 aired).
-Johnny Impact & Tag Team Champions Ohio Vs. Everything(Jake & Dave Crist) d. Heavyweight Champion Eli Drake & The Latin-American XChange(w/ Chris Adonis, Konnan, & Diamante Zuniga) when Impact pinned Santana with a re-entry sunset flip (joined in progress after several minutes of brawling before the opening bell; 5:12 aired).
