-NXT North American Champion Adam Cole d. Sean Maluta(non-title) after the Last Shot v2.0(Shining Wizard to the back of the head) (2:15). Cole spoke his mind after the match and was met by Ricochet...Ricochet felt like Cole was running from his toughest challengers and wanted to face him for the belt at Takeover Brooklyn. Cole simply responded that he wouldn't lower himself to facing Ricochet...even after Ricochet reasserted his view that Cole is a coward, he refused to get back in the ring to answer Ricochet's challenge. NXT Tag Team Champions Roderick Strong & Kyle O'Reilly arrived to back up Cole, but then The War Raiders(Todd Hanson & Raymond Rowe) stopped them from leaving...they tried to go through the crowd, but one exit was blocked by Moustache Mountain(Tyler Bate & Trent Seven)! The Undisputed Era trio finally made their getaway...
-Earlier today, backstage: General Manager S. William Regal presided over the contract signing for the Takeover bout between NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane. Shayna objected to the portrayal of it as a rematch from the Mae Young Classic finals, saying she had beaten Kairi since then and she was a different competitor now. Kairi simply told Shayna that they both know that she can beat her.
-Lacey Evans d. Tenilla Price with the Woman's Right(knockout punch) (2:04).
-Backstage: Bianca Belair was interviewed; she said she didn't feel a need to prove herself like the other women and she'll get what she deserves(the title) once she returns to action from her recent injury.
-Backstage: Shayna got into a confrontation with Candice LeRae over her strong comments about the rest of the NXT women's division.
-Tommaso Ciampa d. Aleister Black to win the NXT Title. The referee was knocked down and Ciampa brought the belt into the ring, but Johnny Gargano ran in to stop him with a superkick. Gargano tried to pull the belt away from Ciampa, but accidentally struck Black with it in the process; Ciampa threw Gargano out of the ring and delivered a sitout Pedigree as the referee recovered to make the three-count (22:19)!
-Next week: Ethan Carter III vs. Kona Reeves.
