Wednesday Wrestling

WWE NXT UK

-Commentators:  Vic Joseph & Nigel McGuinness.
-El Ligero d. "The Wild Boar" Mike Hitchman after a middle-rope springboard into a tornado DDT (4:52).
-Dakota Kai d. Killer Kelly with the sunset flip-into-backcracker (4:10).
-Coming soon:  Eddie Dennis.
-"Liverpool's #1" Zack Gibson made his entrance and got a ton of boos...he won the second United Kingdom Tournament and, despite being worn down, took United Kingdom Champion "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne to the limit.  With all sides even, he believed that he would win the title from Dunne...but the heckling from the fans threw him off his game and led to his defeat.  He never got a proper rematch and "The Scottish Supernova" Noam Dar was just handed an opportunity he didn't deserve.  That brought out Dar for a confrontation, but General Manager Johnny Saint ordered both of them back to his office RIGHT NOW.  (When Johnny Saint tells you to do something, you do it.)
-Backstage:  Travis Banks was interviewed about his experience in NXT UK...his primary goal is to get some payback on Joe & Mark Coffey.
-Ashton Smith d. Tucker Gallagher with the Ash Cloud(inverted facelock spun into DDT) (4:15).
-Debuting on NXT UK next week:  Danny Burch.
-Tyler Bate d. "The Last King Of Scotland" Wolfgang Young with the Tylerdriver '97(tigerdriver) (10:23).
-Next week:  Noam Dar vs. Zack Gibson.

-Mustafa Ali d. Hideo Itami in a falls-count-anywhere match after a 450 Splash off the top rope to smash Itami through a table on the floor (15:23).

WWE NXT

-Commentators:  Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, & "Showtime" Percy Watson.
-Earlier today:  General Manager S. William Regal advised the security guards that if Aleister Black made an appearance, he was to be escorted to Regal's office immediately.
-The Undisputed Era(Adam Cole, NXT Tag Team Champions Roderick Strong & Kyle O'Reilly, & Bobby Fish) kicked off the show...Cole said that NXT North American Champion Ricochet still had his "property", noting that Ricochet defeated "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne but not himself.  As Cole ranted about deserving a one-on-one rematch, he was interrupted by Ethan Carter III...after a lively debate over who did and didn't deserve a title shot, Cole challenged EC3 to face him right then and there.
-Ethan Carter III d. Adam Cole(w/ NXT Tag Team Champions Roderick Strong & Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) via rollup (6:55).  The Era gang-attacked EC3 after the match.
-Outside the building:  Nikki Cross paid a visit to the security guards, saying "He's coming..."
-"The Blasian Baddie" Mia Yim d. Aliyah Areebi after the Sole Food (3:41).
-Backstage:  Bianca Belair complained to Regal about not yet getting an NXT Women's Title shot...then the Undisputed Era got in his face about EC3.  Regal retorted that they needed to be reprimanded for their actions against The War Raiders(Todd Hanson & Raymond Rowe) as well as EC3.  Next week, it'll be The War Raiders against Cole & Fish.
-Kassius Ohno d. Justin Xavier after a rolling elbow to the back of the head (3:07).  After the match, Nikki Cross made her entrance and laughed, saying "he's coming..."
-Debuting next week:  "The King Of Bros" Matt Riddle.
-Before Regal could announce the challenger for the NXT Title at the next Takeover, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa interrupted to hear the announcement in person.  Next out was "The Velveteen Dream" Patrick Clark, who said the people wanted an "experience" at Wargames and wanted Regal to say HIS name.  Cue Lars Sullivan, who believed he deserved the next title shot as well...Lars didn't think much of Dream's retort and throttled him.  Cue Nikki Cross to herald the arrival of "him", who turned out to be Aleister Black running roughshod over the security guards on a beeline for the ring.  Ciampa wisely retreated from the ring as Black entered, dropping Sullivan with the Black Mass(spinning kick) before confronting Regal:  "Where is he?"  Regal had no idea who Black was wanting, but Black turned around into a superkick from Johnny Gargano!  The show closed with Gargano's statement:  "I'm right here!"  I guess that answers the question of who attacked Aleister Black...

WWE Mae Young Classic Tournament

-Commentators:  Michael Cole, Renee Young, & Beth Phoenix.
-Semifinal:  Toni Storm d. Meiko Satomura after the second Storm Zero v2.0(tigerdriver) of the match (13:07).  Last year's tournament winner Kairi Sane congratulated Storm on her win.
-Semifinal:  "The Genius Of The Sky" Io Shirai d. Rhea Ripley with the moonsault (12:54).  Kairi congratulated Shirai as well, along with Sara Amato and Toni Storm.
-Your tournament final to take place at Evolution:  Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm!

Lucha Underground Season 4 Episode 20

-Commentators:  Matt Striker & Vampiro.
-"The Savage" Jake Strong won a seven-way dance with "The One-Man Army" Dante Fox, Shawn Hernandez, "The Darewolf" P.J. Black, Aero Star, "Big Bad" Steve Pain(w/ Famous B), and King Cuerno to win the Gift Of The Gods Title.  Eliminations:  Fox pinned Hernandez with a backslide (2:28).  Strong made Black tap out to the anklelock (5:59 aired), after which Strong snapped Black's ankle.  Aero Star pinned Steve after a cross-bodyblock off a forklift(commandeered by Drago) (11:57 aired).  Strong made Aero Star tap out to the anklelock (15:58 aired); Cuerno saved Aero Star from an ankle-breaking and had some communication with him as he assisted him to the backstage area.  Fox pinned Cuerno after the Foxcatcher(straitjacket fisherman buster) (27:47 aired).  Strong made Fox tap out to the anklelock (31:30 aired) and snapped his ankle.
-Elsewhere:  Johnny Mundo met with Aero Star, who told him that no amount of training could prepare him for Matanza Cueto.  Aero Star said he could help him, bringing in Drago with a little gift:  The Gauntlet Of The Gods!  (Cuerno had the gauntlet at the end of Season 3 and seemingly passed it on to Aero Star at some point...that explained Cuerno's communication with Aero Star during the earlier match.  Aero Star was doing this as a favor to Mundo for helping him to free Drago from the Reptile Tribe.)  Mundo tried on the gauntlet and seemed to enjoy the power boost it offered...Drago asked Aero Star if this was a good idea, with Aero Star simply saying that "only time will tell"...
-Next two weeks:  Ultima Lucha Cuatro!  Lineup:
-Marty "The Moth" Martinez vs. Pentagon Dark - LU Title - Cero Miedo Match
-Johnny Mundo vs. Matanza Cueto
