Saturday SICW Results From Belleville, IL

-Ring announcer:  Drew Abbenhaus.  Referees:  Nick Ridenour, Freddy Jack Funkhouser, & Bill Henson.
-The night started with a ten-bell salute for "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey, Cauliflower Alley Club Executive Vice-President Rich Ingling, and "Flying" Fred Curry.
-"The Soul Survivor" Jayson Breed d. "#Trending" Trent Daniels after the DDT (7:27).
-Drew interviewed Tag Team Champion "The Night Train" Gary Jackson...it was revealed that "The Silverback" Joe Helms was not cleared to compete due to blood clots in his lungs.  That brought out Lucky P. Larsen, Esquire to proclaim that the L.A. Hustlers("The Notorious" Bradley Diggs & "Ruffshot" Lamont Potts) would return in May, then hurl insults at Jackson until The Night Train decked him.  That brought out "Superstar" Steve Fender & Ax Allwardt to attack Jackson...The Big Texan hit the ring and the rulebreakers bailed, but the damage had been done.  Jackson's status was left questionable for his match later in the show with Texan as his partner.
-"The Dragonfly" Chris Exodus(w/ Brandon Espinosa) d. "Your Canadian Hero" Sean Vincent by countout.  Vincent seemingly had the match won at one point but Espinosa pulled the referee out of the ring; when Vincent left the ring to confront Espinosa, Exodus dropped him with a kick to the back of the head from the ring apron.  As a result, Vincent was unable to beat the ten-count (10:36).
-Ax Allwardt(w/ Lucky P. Larsen, Esquire) d. "Volatile" Curtis Wylde(w/ Wyldefyre).  Lucky caused a distraction by antagonizing Wyldefyre at ringside, allowing Ax to capitalize on the situation and win with the piledriver (8:10).
-Promoter Herb Simmons and Drew Abbenhaus hyped the list of legends and other special guests who will be in the house for next month's Fanfest.
-Bobby D d. "Superstar" Steve Fender(w/ Lucky P. Larsen, Esquire) via German Suplex (10:29).
-"The Airborne Magician" Billy McNeil d. Brandon Espinosa by DQ when Chris Exodus attacked McNeil (9:41).  The Gateway Saints(Sean Vincent & Jayson Breed) ran off the members of Dysfunction after the bell.
-Central States Champion "Big Nasty" Glenn Williams & "The Northern Saint" Tony Flood d. The Big Texan and (late-arriving) "The Night Train" Gary Jackson to win the Tag Team Titles.  Texan offered to defend the belts by himself (with Jackson & Helms' blessing), but the injured Jackson made his way out to the ring late in the bout.  However, the rulebreakers focused their attack on Jackson until Texan threw in the towel to prevent further damage being done (15:48).
-"Strictly Business" Brandon Barretta d. "Italian Grit" Joe Vinetti with the headlock driver to retain the Classic Title (16:18).  The battle of the Top Guns saw Vinetti enter to Highway To The Danger Zone(the team's old theme music), followed by Barretta wearing his old Top Guns-era singlet to the ring.
-NOTES:  Some show days go differently than others...in this case, I spend most of the day napping and woke up at around 6:15 with belltime at 7.  Thankfully the show was just on the other side of Belleville...on top of that, I had the presence of mind to bring my phone charger as my smartphone was down to about 5%!  I kept charging it when I could during the show and it lasted long enough to get photos of the whole show.  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Hamburger, cherry Ski, and Mr. Pibb.  Due to Easter, there's no TV taping tomorrow so no worries about sleeping too late...what, like I did today?  HAHAHAHA...err, anyway.
