Saturday(afternoon) Glory Pro Wrestling results from St. Charles, MO (Anime STL):
-Ring announcer: Ben SImon. Referee: Jerry Looney.
-"The Whole Thang" Rahim De La Suede d. "The Deliverer" Moses Powell with a bridging O'Connor Roll (7:43).
-"The Street Reaper" Mike Outlaw d. "The Top Of The Pyramid" Dante Paraoh after the corkscrew Stunner (9:08).
-The Hatekeepers("The Huntsman" Jay Marston, "The Cajun Kid" Shain Boucher, & Trip Jordy) d. "The Little Blue Dragon" Tootie Lynn Ramsey & The Revolution(Quest Parker & Anthony "Worldwide" Lopes) when Boucher rolled up Lopes for the pin after a cheapshot by Marston (8:27).
-Trent Daniels interrupted Ben Simon and demanded to face the Champion, feeling he was owed for being at Glory Pro shows on a regular basis in the past several months and rarely getting a match on the main card. Fortunately(?) for him, the champ was in a giving mood...
-"The Southern Flamingo" Kody "Koko" Lane d. "#Trending" Trent Daniels via double-underhook piledriver to retain the Crown Of Glory Title (0:45).
-"The Gentleman Barbarian" Bruss Hamilton d. "Uncle T" Solomon Tupu after a vertical-lift bodyslam (13:31).
-NOTES: Obviously couldn't make it to Anime STL on Friday due to being at St. Louis Anarchy. Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm): Well, not much since the lines were terribly long in the spot under the big tent where the wrestling took place. I found it easier to go inside the Convention Center and get a soda from the refreshment spot of the hotel. Funny to see bottles of water go for $3 or so while there was a water fountain in clear view. I thought I'd have the leeway to stop at home for a bit in between, but did some Transformers hunting and picked up two new ones: Powerglide and Liege Maximo. That means I have all of the newly-done Thirteen Primes (depending on whether the upcoming Vector Prime is much different from the character's previously-released figure. I went straight to CHWA after that. Planning to be back at Anime STL tomorrow afternoon! Next "regular" Glory Pro show is on May 31st.
Saturday CHWA results from Edwardsville, IL:
-Ring announcer: Chris Roedel. Referee: Jeb. Commentators: Patrick Brandmeyer & The Guido.
-General Manager Sadie Blaze kicked off the show by announcing a four-corner match for the now-vacant 1-Up Title. He got several volunteers, including International Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason who protested his lack of shots at the Undisputed Title...
-International Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason won a four-corner match with Xavier Dea'Vaul, "The Crowd Pleaser" Karti Marti, and Evonias to become the new 1-Up Champion, pinning Evonias after the fireman's-carry Michinoku Driver (9:58). Mason's Internatiopnal Title was not at stake.
-Logan Simmons wandered out to ringside, talking to someone on a Pikachu walkie-talkie...that brought out Switchblaze(Garrett Shanks & Shawn Blaze), who were in a bad mood over not getting their Tag Team Title rematch yet. They even went so far as to threaten The Guido if they didn't get their return bout. However, the person on the other end of the walkie-talkie made himself known...
-Switchblaze("Switchblade" Garrett Shanks & "The Incinerator" Shawn Blaze) d. Logan SImmons & Chameleon); Shanks pinned Simmons after he and Blaze hit the Magic Killer(double-team elevated neckbreaker) (7:13).
-Alexis Valentine d. "The Rectifier" Waylon Phoenix(w/ Ramsey Rancid & Alister Crow) after a pump kick (5:23). The rest of Malicious Intent got involved early, which led to Sadie Blaze and security officer Hardcore Andy forcibly ejecting them from ringside.
-"The Fairy Tale Villain" Angelo Grimsley d. Tag Team Champion "The Man On Fire" Kai Phoenix with a pump knee strike after pulling down his kneepad (9:12).
-Ron A.G.T.G. d. Killian Kayne after a double-jump flying Diamond Cutter (9:15).
-Malicious Intent(Ramsey Rancid & Alister Crow)(w/ Waylon Phoenix) d. "The Mother Of Butterflies" Madi Monarch & Shylo Nights; Sadie and Andy ejected Waylon from ringside right away. The more experienced team emerged victorious, with Crow pinning Madi after he and Rancid hit a Dominator/running neckbreaker drop combo (10:18).
-Jalon Strong d. "The One-Man Zoo" L-Ride(w/ Rocky Baxter) to win the Undisputed Title after hitting the Cahokia Cutter(double-jump somersault Cutter) (12:00). However, Jalon was barely able to celebrate his win before a masked individual attacked both him and L-Ride. The interloper revealed himself to be I.P. Mason (who made a big deal out of leaving the building with his gear at intermission)...and he decided to cash in his 1-Up Title right there! (My previous understanding of the belt's rules was that you couldn't cash in the belt and get the title shot on the same night, but we'll see what G.M. Sadie thinks...)
-International/1-Up Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason d. Jalon Strong to win the Undisputed Title via fireman's-carry Michinoku Driver (1:20). Tag Team Champion Kai Phoenix celebrated with Mason to close the show.
-NOTES: Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm): Water(the free H20 was greatly appreciated), chicken tenders with BBQ sauce, a Mountain Dew, and (at intermission) more water and a Pepsi. I realized that I barely ate on this day, just a breakfast biscuit in the morning and the chicken tenders here. Another strong attendance night in a streak of them, though the nicer weather may make a difference in the near future. Next show is May 23rd.
