Saturday CHWA Results From Edwardsville, IL

-Ring announcer:  Chris Roedel.  Referees:  Arvonta Thurman, Jeb, & Will Schultz.  Commentators:  Patrick Brandmeyer & Luke Roberts.
-Logan Simmons d. Jake Gold after a flying knee strike (5:35).
-Alexis Valentine d. Alister Crow(w/ Ramsey Rancid & Waylon Phoenix banned from ringside) via pump kick (9:51).
-Gateway To Glory Tournament:  Jalon Strong d. Chameleon with the Cahokia Cutter(double-jump springboard Cutter) (8:48).  Afterwards an unidentified masked man confronted Strong while Heavyweight/Independent Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason watched from the entranceway.  (It was announced that this year's Gateway To Glory Tournament will crown a new 1-Up Champion.)
-The STL Connection(Andrew "The Wolf" Wilder & "The Black Panther" Johnathan Zulu) won a four-corner match with Switchblaze("Switchblade" Garrett Shanks & "The Incinerator" Shawn Blaze), Malicious Intent(Alister Crow & Waylon Phoenix)(w/ Ramsey Rancid & masked follower), and "The Arcane Assassin" Killian Kayne & Xavier Dea'Vaul.  Rancid was scheduled to team with Waylon, but as "punishment" for losing earlier in the night, Rancid ordered Crow to take his place.  Shanks & Blaze, still upset over not getting their contractual rematch for the Tag Team Titles against Navi Kai & "The Man On Fire" Kai Phoenix, walked out on the match partway through.  In the end, Wilder hit the Call Of The Wild(inverted swinging neckbreaker) on Dea'Vaul and Zulu followed up with a splash off the top rope for the three-count (14:00).  The win earned Wilder & Zulu a title shot at Navi Kai & Kai Phoenix at the June 20th show.
-Jackal d. "The One-Man Zoo" L-Ride(w/ Rocky Baxter) via Killswitch #2(turnbuckle-walk Unprettier) (7:28).
-"The Fairy Tail Villain" Angelo Grimsley d. "Captain Bad Attitude" James Brady by DQ when Brady refused to break on the ropes and shoved the official when he tried to intervene (6:52).  Brady wasn't done as he taped Grimsley's arms to the rope to continue the beating, leading to referees and security attempting to restore order.  However, the two kept charging at each other and having to be restrained...in the midst of it all, Brady challenged Grimsley to an unsanctioned match at the June 20th show.
-Gateway To Glory Tournament:  Ron A.G.T.G. d. Evonias after a double-jump middle-rope Cutter (6:42).  As Ron was celebrating his win with ringside fans, Big Daddy Dion shockingly emerged from the fans to attack him!  Dion was in attendance despite no longer working for CHWA, earning him a few choice words from Sadie Blaze for his actions...
-Heavyweight/International Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason celebrated his title win by himself (Kai Phoenix was not in the buidling), leading to a confrontation with Sadie Blaze.  Blaze didn't care for Mason wasting everybody's time...he noted that Mason was not contractually obligated to defend his Heavyweight Title at the event, but he COULD order a defense of his Internatioanl Title...
-Shylo Nights d. Heavyweight/International Champion "The Anomaly" I.P. Mason to win the International Title (the Heavyweight Title was not stake).  As Mason grew frustrated with the match, he started blatantly abusing referee Arvonta Thurman and daring him to disqualify him (thus ensuring a title retention).  Instead, Arvonta called out to Chris Roedel to announce it as a no-DQ match instead...then delivered a Stunner to Mason!  From there, Mason's past sins came back to bite him as Logan Simmons laid him out with a flying knee strike, "The Mother Of Butterflies" Madi Monarch dropped him with a shotgun knee strike to the back, and Alexis Valentine planting him with the Taste The Painbow(Angel's Wings)!  The wrestlers set up Mason on the table and Shylo delivered a moonsault off the second rope to drive the champion through it, scoring the pinfall to capture the gold (11:55)!
-NOTES:  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Cheesebuger, Mountain Dew, and water.  Picked up an Alexis Valentine hand fan, which will take some practice to consistently snap open.  Two matches are already set up for June 20th, as well as the next two Gateway To Glory Tournament bouts (participants to be announced).  Despite the holiday weekend, atteandance was pretty solid in my opinion.
