WWE NXT6

Commentators:  Tony Luftman, S. William Regal, & Jim Ross(for the main event).  Ring announcer:  Summer Rae.

Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. Michael McGillicutty & Johnny Curtis:  A blind tag on the heel side allows them to take the advantage over Jey Uso.  However, those two seem to have communication issues as MM is all business while Curtis wants to pose and posture.  A missed Stinger Splash by McGillicutty allows Jimmy to get the hot tag...the grass hut is afire!  MM takes a Buh-Buh Bomb and Umaga Smash, then Curtis eats a superkick and MM takes an alley-oop Samoan Drop.  Jey tags back in for the Headshrinker Splash and Jey gets the pin on McGillicutty.  After the match the Ascension's music hits and they're seen watching from a high perch in the arena...

Xavier Woods vs. Leo Kruger:  Xavier lives!  However, Kruger's been on a roll and this NXT debut may be a bit rocky for him.  Woods' tights say "OVER 9000", I must note.  Leo dominates most of the contest...Xavier hits his forward-roll clothesline but whiffs on a missile dropkick.  Leo wraps it up with Kruger's End(Shortcut/corkscrew snapmare driver).

Byron Saxton interviews Big E Langston about the five-count...he waxes poetic about the number five until he's interrupted by...Vickie Guerrero?  She is scouting for new talent(as we saw with Heath last week)...innuendo abounds until Big E blows her off with a well-timed chalk-up.  Ha ha.

Jinder Mahal wants a shot at Seth Rollins' NXT Title(after losing the tournament final to him).  Justin Gabriel also wants a title shot because...why not?  (Jinder reminds him that he lost in the first round of the tournament.)  Drew McIntyre ALSO wants a title shot...he does hold a previous (clean) win over Rollins.  Bo Dallas ALSO wants a title shot because the other guys had their shots and he feels it's his turn.  General Manager Dusty Rhodes rules that there will be a four-corner match next week for the next title shot...that'll work.

C.J. Parker vs. Roman Reigns:  Reigns used to be known as Leakee and is the son of Wild Samoan Sika...this is his re-debut after an injury layoff(plus his first NXT appearance).  Reigns targets the arm in short order with strikes and then a single-arm DDT.  Parker fights back but gets caught with a Flying Jalapeno...Roman finishes with a Protobomb(called the Moment Of Silence according to the NXT website).

Antonio Cesaro vs. Tyson Kidd for the U.S. Title:  On an odd side note, I only recently discovered that WWE referee Ryan Tran(officiating this matchup) used to wrestle in my neck of the woods as Bao Nguyen...okay, on to the match which was set up last week.  J.R. replaces Luftman for this one...YAY WRESTLING~!  Kidd gets a victory roll off an early test-of-strength exchange, then gets a heel hook out of the kickout before Cesaro reaches the ropes.  Small package for two, jackknife pin for two...backslide is blocked but Kidd gets an O'Connor Roll for two, reversed by Cesaro for two, re-reversed into a rollup by Tyson for two.  Oklahoma roll gets two, then Kidd dropkicks him for two before armdragging him into an armbar...whew!

Antonio slows the pace a bit with a bearhug, then teases the Neutralizer only to get backdropped...Cesaro rolls through for a sunset flip but Kidd rolls through THAT for a basement dropkick.  Cue the educated feet...Kidd gets the slingshot rolling prawn for a near-fall.  Slingshot somersault rana...for 2 1/2.  Inside-out slingshot legdrop to the back of the head...then the running punt from the apron!  Back in for the springboard elbowdrop...for 2 1/2.  Sharpshooter is blocked and Cesaro catches him off the ropes with the pop-up European uppercut!  Neutralizer ends it and Cesaro retains the U.S. Title...yup, this was a good match.

Next week:  Justin Gabriel vs. Bo Dallas vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Drew McIntyre.
