Commentators: Jim Ross & Tom Phillips. Ring announcer: Byron Saxton.
Tag Team Champions Hell No are in the house. Daniel Bryan has sold T-shirts, won titles, and grown an "immaculate beard"...he just requests that people not say "YES" or "goat face". Of course, this leads to his usual "discussion" with Kane.
Trent Barreta vs. Leo Kruger: It was heavily implied that Kruger attacked Barreta backstage last week...Trent's got bandaged ribs tonight. Barreta goes right after Leo like someone looking for payback, but an early Whisper In The Wind attempt goes awry as Kruger yanks him down onto the turnbuckle ribs-first. Bandages are a target in the wrestling ring and Kruger wastes no time in attacking the midsection. Leo makes the mistake of going to the second rope and gets dropkicked in mid-air...the achy-breaky ribs are a problem but Trent still tries to mount an offensive. Kruger cuts him off with a drop to the mat, then finishes with Kruger's End.
Xavier Woods vs. Memo Montenegro(w/o entrance): Phillips speculates that Montenegro had a privileged upbringing similar to Alberto Del Rio, wink wink. The match ends surprisingly quickly with Xavier getting the duke after a forward roll into a flying clothesline...time for some post-match dancing, including the dreaded reverse Worm.
Audrey Marie vs. Emma Tayla: The Australian Emma is making her NXT debut...she worked a few SHIMMER shows as Tenille, if I remember right. Audrey is a bit heelish in this one...and the match ends up being halfway decent, go figure. Audrey gets the win with the Last Roundup(swinging uranagi).
Backstage, Tony Dawson is set to interview Roman Reigns but he reads a "press release" from him instead. I'm sure someone thought "Reigns Check" was hilarious.
Michael Cole returns to his most favoritest show to conduct a face-to-face interview with NXT Champion Seth Rollins and top contender Jinder Mahal. Cole uses Kerwin White's old theme...really? Yes, this WAS taped prior to Rollins' WWE debut as part of The Shield...not to mention Mahal's alignment with the 3-Man Band. The title match will take place in two weeks, for the record. It doesn't take long for Mahal to hijack the interview...sorry, that's racially insensitive. Mahal vows to "humble" Rollins...appropriate for someone using the camel clutch. Seth gets all fired up in response...and it looks like they don't want to wait for the title match. Cole tries to restore order but Jinder takes a cheapshot, then locks on the camel clutch. Finally referees arrive to settle things down, but the damage has been done.
Hell No(Kane & Daniel Bryan) vs. Michael McGillicutty & Johnny "Not Yet Fandango" Curtis for the Tag Team Titles: J.R. notes that Curtis earned a Tag Title shot by winning NXT4 and this is his official "cash-in"(despite not teaming with then-mentor "R-Truth" Ron Killings)...CONTINUITY~! Curtis seems to be practicing his dance moves to go along with his new theme music. The fans want the champs to Hug It Out(tm) but they decline. Both sides show good teamwork...MM and Curtis have teamed up a few times in the past, of course. Bryan takes some abuse but Kane appropriately does the house-afire bit after getting the, ahem, hot tag. Bryan tags himself back into the match and nearly gets his signals crossed with Kane, but they get it together long enough for Kane to chokeslam Curtis. Meanwhile, Bryan takes MM down in the No Lock for the tapout win...will they hug it out now? Sure, why not, it's the holiday season...
