WWE NXT
Commentators: Tony Dawson & S. William Regal. Ring announcer: Kendall Skye.
Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady declare themselves to not be SAWFT before seeking to entertain the fans with some dancing. That brings out the real dancing duo: Tons Of Funk(Brodus Clay & Lord Tensai). Is this a match? The heels look to retreat but Mason Ryan scares them back into the ring for a whooping. Cassady gets hit with the stereo splashes off the ropes, then Ryan drops Amore with a cobra clutch slam. Ryan goes to leave but Brodus & Tensai invite him to join the dance party...like there weren't enough parallels between him and Rob Terry.
Backstage: General Manager Dusty Rhodes meets with Women's Champion Paige Knight and Emma Tayla, congratulating them on last week's match. Summer Rae intrudes and complains about being left out of the title picture...she proposes a dance-off between herself and Emma, why not?
Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks: Both ladies are fan favorites though Charlotte seems to have a slight edge in support. YAY WRESTLING~! to start and Sasha gets the upper hand, but Charlotte shows off her athleticism with her unique bridging rollup for a two-count. Sasha fires up and walks the ropes for a flying armdrag, then gets her own near-fall with a Gedo Clutch. Charlotte performs a textbook Flair Flip before ramming Sasha face-first into the turnbuckle, then re-enters for a flying clothesline and her flippy Cutter finisher to end it. WHOO~!s abound.
Backstage: Renee Young interviews Tyler Breeze(who's admiring his selfie collection). C.J. Parker walks through the background of the promo and decides to Photobomb the interview in delightfully cheesy fashion. Tyler Breeze has left the building...hey, it worked for Shawn Michaels.
Aiden English & Mickey Keegan vs. The Wyatt Familiy(Luke Harper & Erick Rowan)(w/ Bray Wyatt): Despite their heel status, the newest graduates to the main roster get a strong positive reception. Cue domination...for the second week in a row, English gets the brunt of the abuse. Discus lariat by Harper, big splash by Rowan, and it's over in a hurry. Bray picks up English, gives him the kiss on the forehead, and plants him with the Sister Abigail. The fans want One More Time(tm) but Bray has some enlightenment to deliver. He says goodbye to NXT, but all you need to do to find the family is Follow The Buzzards. "Time is on my side..."
Tag Team Champion Corey Graves(w/ Adrian Neville) vs. Scott Dawson(w/ Sylvester Lefort): Don't look for a lot of finesse here...just two guys with roughhouse styles in the ring. Dawson dominates for a few minutes, but Graves legdives him out of nowhere and hooks the Lucky 13(Fuller Leglock) for the tapout! The champs show off the belts, but cue THE SHIELD...they've got some belts of their own, see. U.S. Champion Dean Ambrose says Neville just took Kassius Ohno's spot and he considers that an injustice...how about a match next week? That'll work...Adrian proposes that it be a title match and Ambrose is fine with that.
NXT Champion Bo Dallas & Sami Zayn vs. Antonio Cesaro & Leo Kruger: Bo is deemed "controversial" by the video package hyping next week's show...yup, he's John Cena Jr. Zayn(OLE~!) starts with Leo as the international flavor of the bout is noted(U.S. & Canada against Switzerland & South Africa). Fans do NOT want Dallas to get the tag but Bo tags himself into the match...now it's Bo-Cesaro and the fans chant "We The People". Zayn gets a tag and makes a beeline for rival Cesaro before Kruger cuts him off...that leaves Sami in the proverbial wrong part of town.
Regal notes that punches are automatic DQs in a lot of European wrestling, thus the emphasis on the forearm uppercuts. Zayn desperately needs to make the tag, but the fans still don't want to see Bo in the match...that's harsh. Sami finally victory-rolls Kruger to maneuver into the hot tag to Dallas...the house is on fire whether the fans like it or not! Bo plants Leo with the turnbuckle-walk bulldog but Antonio breaks up the pin. Zayn clotheslines Cesaro to the floor and they brawl up the entrance ramp, fighting all the way to the backstage area! Meanwhile, Dallas hits the snap belly-to-belly suplex on Kruger only for Leo to roll out to the floor to escape defeat. Bo throws him back into the ring but charges right into a knee out of the corner...SLICE~!(lariat) hits and Kruger pins the champion!
Next week: Bo Dallas vs. Leo Kruger for the NXT Title, Dean Ambrose vs. Adrian Neville for the U.S. Title, and Emma Tayla vs. Summer Rae in a dance-off.
