Midweek wrestling

TNA XPlosion

-Commentators:  Mike Tenay & Jeremy Borash.
-Velvet Sky d. Brooke Tessmacher with the In Yo' Face(sitout Pedigree).

WWE NXT

Commentators:  Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, & Lord Tensai.  Ring announcers:  Alexa Bliss & Howard Finkel(!)(for the main event).

Chief Operating Officer Triple H starts the show...he invites the fans to chant "NXT" instead of "Triple H".  It's the 200th episode of the show...WOO~!  He drops the names of some of the people who got started here:  Damien Sandow, Antonio Cesaro, The Shield, The Wyatt Family...and after some "Five" chants, he adds Big E Langston to that list.  He congratulations to the wrestlers and the fans who made it possible...but since no one came here to see him talk(HA!), let's get to the action...ARE YOU READY?

Tyson Kidd & Sami Zayn vs. Antonio Cesaro & Leo Kruger:  Feuds all around in this one.  The fans chant "OLE~!"(obviously fans of Los Matadores), then go into dueling "We The People"/"Sami Zayn" chants after that...so of course Kidd and Kruger start.  YAY WRESTLING~!  Zayn tags in, Leo tags out...cue "Match Of The Year" and "This Is Awesome" chants before Zayn and Cesaro even make contact!  The two have a spirited exchange before Kidd re-enters with a slingshot rolling prawn cradle(for two)...but Cesaro catches him in mid-leapfrog for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker!

Kidd fights his way out of the heel corner but Leo plants him with a major spinebuster...for two.  Antonio tags in and hits the deadlift gutwrench suplex...for two.  The fans want Sami but he'll need to get a tag first...Cesaro boots Zayn off the apron in response.  Kidd finally fires back and low-bridges Kruger out of the ring, then avoids a Cesaro charge...and finally fends off Kruger long enough to tag in Zayn!  The house is on fire and he cleans house, hitting a Steamboat Press...for two.  Leo raises a knee to stop the corner boot but runs into a Blue Thunder Bomb...Antonio saves.  Cesaro tries to get rid of Kidd only to end up on the floor himself...then Kidd follows up with a Homicide-style rolling suicide dive!  The legal men are left in the ring...and the CORNER BOOT hits to give Zayn the win over Kruger!

Backstage:  Natalya Neidhart is watching her husband Tyson Kidd's match on the monitor...Emma Tayla dances her way into the picture and annoys Nattie a bit.  Emma gets the same impression that Paige did a few weeks ago; she feels like Nattie's a bit less social since she "got famous"(WATCH TOTAL DIVAS SUNDAY NIGHTS ON E!).  Natalya jokes about how Emma became number-one contender through a dance contest rather than a wrestling match...this all sets up a match to determine Paige's next challenger.

Flashback to February 23, 2010 and the first episode of NXT...some dork named Daniel Bryan debuted against then-World Champion Chris Jericho.  Whatever happened to that guy?

NXT Women's Champion Paige Knight vs. Summer Rae(w/ Sasha Banks)(non-title):  I believe it was a match with Paige that sparked Sasha's heel turn.  Paige goes right after Sasha and yanks her around by the hair...Sasha fires up with a series of rapid-fire chops.  A brief distraction by Summer allows Sasha to snap Paige's neck off the top rope, then stomp her down in the corner.  Sasha grabs a sleeper to wear her down...Paige fights out but Sasha slaps her.  Sasha goes for her ropewalk armdrag but Paige blocks it and Sasha hits the mat hard...I smell a comeback!  Paige hits a series of short-arm clotheslines and then a dropkick, but Summer trips her behind the referee's back.  Sasha runs in with a boot but misses, hitting Summer by mistake...KICK WHAM PAIGE TURNER and that's the ballgame!

Backstage:  Enzo Amore(in a wheelchair) chats with Colin Cassady about his injury...they hear Aiden English warming up his singing voice and pay him a visit.  Words are exchanged as I note the brand-new "SAWFT" T-shirts...outstanding.  Enzo says Big Cass has great pipes as well...sounds like a singing contest to me.

Flashback to the debut at Full Sail University(June 20, 2012):  Bo Dallas made his debut and Tyson Kidd won the main event against Michael McGillicutty(whatever happened to THAT guy?).

NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension(Konnor O'Brian & Rick Viktor) vs. The American Pitbulls(Derek Billington & Jon Cahill)(non-title):  This is the answer to an open challenge...I don't know, those Pitbulls look more like Wolves to me.  Tensai relates his experience with the two in Japan:  "These two can go".  Viktor starts with Davey Richards...okay, the commentators say he's Billington so Eddie Edwards is Cahill.  (Davey was inspired by Dynamite Kid, whose real name is Tom Billington...I see what they did there.)  The Pitbulls work together for a double Japanese armdrag on Konnor and Cahill lowbridges Viktor out, but Konnor drops Billington with a Flapjack.  Billington tries to flip out of a back suplex attempt by Viktor but nearly lands on his head...ouch.  Billington whiffs on one enzuigiri but hits the second, finally making the tag to Cahill...the house is on fire!  Cahill nails a Shining Wizard on Viktor but Konnor saves...then gets low-bridged out of the ring.  Viktor gets backdropped out to join him...and the Pitbulls hit stereo suicide dives!  Cahill throws Viktor in for a two-count...tag to Billington for a swandive headbutt and another near-fall.  Viktor mows him down with a flying boot to halt that momentum...tag to Konnor, Viktor bashes Cahill off the apron, Fall Of Man(legsweep/flying European uppercut), Konnor pins Billington for the win.

Quite the debut appearance for our intrepid would-be challengers...but Hunico & Donny Camacho show up to stake their claim to another title shot.  Cahill tries for some post-match retribution only to get double-hiptossed into a double powerbomb, then he takes the Fall Of Man as well.

Backstage:  Devin Taylor interviews Kofi Kingston, but he's interrupted by Lana Perry.  Lana issues a challenge in notEnglish on behalf of Alexander Rusev...next week is looking pretty stacked to me.

Speaking of which, next week's main event:  S. William Regal vs. Antonio Cesaro!

Bo Dallas vs. Adrian Neville for the NXT Title, lumberjack match:  Bo retained his title on a countout loss two weeks ago, so we have this match to keep both men in the ring.  Hey, Howard Finkel!  I don't recognize the lumberjacks besides Tyler Breeze.  Bo tries to bail early, gets tossed back in the ring, and Adrian gets a bridging O'Connor Roll for a close early near-fall.  Dallas throws Neville to the floor and Breeze teases a cheapshot, so he gets slapped...NOT THE FACE~!

Flashback to 8/29/12:  Seth Rollins beat Jinder Mahal to become the first NXT Champion.  Name the guys in the victory celebration that aren't around any more!

Anywho, back to our main event...Adrian unleashes the educated feet but gets thrown through the ropes.  The lumberjacks do their job as advertised...meanwhile, Breeze is still seething over the slap from earlier.  Bo hooks a CRAVATE~! and the fans creatively chant "BO-ring"...then "Drop The Title".  Bo wipes out Neville with a huge short-arm clothesline...for two.  The turnbuckle-walk BO-dog is blocked...Neville with kicks, flying forearms, and a basement dropkick for two.  Spear setup is stopped by a dropkick, then Adrian follows up with an enzuigiri and standing shooting star press...for two!  Fans:  "We Will Riot"...no, you won't.  Neville slams Bo and goes up for the Red Arrow(corkscrew shooting star press) only for Bo to roll out to the floor.  The lumberjacks stop him from taking a powder and Neville takes out everyone with a somersault plancha!  Neville throws Bo back in the ring and sets up his finisher again...but Breeze pulls Dallas out of the way!  Bo quickly covers Neville and gets the pin just like that...Bo Dallas is still your NXT Champion!

Bo celebrates, it's Neville's turn to seethe, and Breeze checks his face with the camera phone as we wrap up episode #200...
