NXT + Impact

WWE NXT

Commentators:  Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, & Alex Riley.  Ring announcer:  Kendall Skye(I think).

Bayley Rose(w/ Natalya Neidhart) vs. Summer Rae(w/ Sasha Banks):  Fortunately, Bayley has backup with Sasha lurking outside the ring.  Summer offers a hug but the fans say NO~!...Bayley yanks the headband out of Summer's hair in response.  When Summer bends over to pick it up, Bayley sunset-flips her for two...okay then.  Bayley pulls Summer off the ropes and Summer begs off before delivering a cheapshot kick during the ref break.  Summer gets rid of Bayley's headband and boot-chokes her in the corner, then dances her way into a kick combo and faceplant...for two.  Summer gets a straitjacket hold(!) but Bayley stomps the foot to escape...time for a rally!  Flying elbow gets two, another off the second rope gets two.  Bayley holds the ropes to avoid a spinning kick by Summer, then hits the "Belly-To-Bayley Hugplex"...for the upset win!  Riley refers to her as the Doctor Of Huganomics...har.

Backstage, Devin Taylor interviews Xavier Woods about his recent main-roster debut.  He's psyched to be on Episode #200...whoops, that was a few weeks ago.  Kane is reportedly in the building and wants a word with Woods, but he's not worried due to being OVER 9000~!

Colin Cassady vs. Aiden English:  This stems from last week's sing-off and Big Cass is fired up.  "SPOTLIGHT NOW!"  The fans assert that Aiden is S-A-W-F-T.  Cassady comes out swinging and dominates English, but a missed Stinger Splash allows English to level him from behind.  Cass returns fire with a backdrop, high knee, and big elbowdrop...for two.  Aiden begs off in the ropes and the referee has to get between the two...that allows Aiden to kick Cassady in the knee.  After that, English finishes with the Director's Cut(cobra clutch Side Effect).  English declines the encore but the fans throw roses anyway.

Backstage, Devin interviews Adrian Neville about his title shot at NXT Champion Bo Dallas.  Adrian gets a cellphone call...it's from Tyler Breeze, who happens to be in the same room.  See, he doesn't want to look at his ugly face...Breeze apologizes for that title loss, not that he had anything to do with it or anything.  Neville says he'll play the waiting game and will see him in the ring next week.  Breeze:  "'Man That Gravity Forgot'...more like 'Man That Mother Nature Forgot To Make Good-Looking'..."

Xavier Woods hits the ring and then Director Of Operations Kane comes out...it's funny to see Kane in a suit, tie, and GLASSES.  The Authority didn't forget about Woods starting a petition to get The Big Show rehired, see...it's time for some punishment.

Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev(w/ Lana Perry & Kane):  Xavier doesn't waste time and goes right after Rusev...only to run into a Samoan Drop.  Byron's a bit more heelish on commentary, I must note.  Woods manages to rally on offense but can't knock the big guy down...until he finally hits the Honor Roll(forward-flip flying clothesline).  Rusev blocks Lost In The Woods(Eat-The-Feet), throws Woods off into the ropes, and runs him over on the rebound...so much for that.  Accolade camel clutch is applied and Woods has nowhere to go but Tapout City.

"Last week" backstage:  Kofi Kingston says he lost to Rusev because he underestimated his opponent and got distracted by Lana.  It won't happen again...and he challenges Rusev to a rematch.

Tyson Kidd vs. Baron Corbin(no relation to Darin):  Corbin has the edge in size and power, but Kidd's got the experience and speed.  Corbin actually controls most of the bout, but Kidd drop-toeholds him into the turnbuckles to get an opening.  Cue the educated feet, then an inside-out slingshot legdrop with Corbin draped over the bottom rope.  Kidd re-enters with a Buff Blockbuster off the top rope and that's the ballgame!

The Ascension(Konnor O'Brian & Rick Viktor) vs. Hunico & Donny Camacho, (Texas) Tornado Match for the NXT Tag Team Titles:  For those who came in late, a tornado match simply means no tags are necessary and all four wrestlers are in play at once...also, it's no-countout-no-DQ.  Hunico & Camacho bust out the lowrider bicycles for this special occasion...oddly, I see Byron in the ring during the challengers' entrance.  (Thought Kendall sounded overdubbed...also, no shots of the announcers during this show.)  Random thought:  Ascension could use a goth chick valet.  Shelly "Ariel" Martinez is probably out and Raquel Diaz got her own thing...so who would fit that?  Paige Knight fits the look but she has her own thing going as well.  Food for thought.

Anywho, the bell hits and the brawl is on, Hunico with Viktor and Camacho with Konnor.  The fans want tables but I don't think they'll get them.  The referee honestly seems to be at a loss about what to do...his only job is to count pins and look for submissions.  Hunico rolls up Viktor into his deadlift powerbomb, then Camacho hits a legdrop off the second rope...but Konnor breaks up the pin.  Hunico dropkicks Konnor out of play and the challengers hold the high ground for the moment...

The fight spills out of the ring and one of the bikes gets wrecked in the chaos.  The good guys try for Infuriating Enemy Pummels in the corners but both get powerbombed...for stereo near-falls.  Now the champs are in firm control...but Hunico re-enters the fray with a cross-body off the top on both opponents.  The challengers unload with dropkicks, then Hunico takes out both Ascension members with an Asai moonsault...for two.  Camacho Samoan-Drops Konnor and Hunico follows up with the swanton bomb...but Viktor breaks up that pin attempt.  Viktor gets double-clotheslined out of the ring and Hunico swings through the ropes for a kick, but Viktor stops Camacho's suicide dive with one big forearm smash!  Konnor grabs Hunico in a full nelson slam, then Viktor re-enters for the Fall Of Man(legsweep/flying European uppercut combo) and Konnor gets the pin.  The champs retain...who's left to challenge them?  After this loss, I don't think we'll be seeing Hunico's face for a while...

TNA Impact

Commentators:  Mike Tenay & Taz.

Tag Team Champions The Bro Mans(Robbie Eckos & Jessie Godderz)(w/ Shiima Xion) d. Eric Young & Joseph Park(non-title).  Women's Champion Gail Kim & Lei'D Tapa attacked O.D.B. backstage and Young left the match to check on her.  Park was left on his own and was pinned by Robbie after the Bro Down(Hart Attack).  The Bro Mans hit their finisher again after the match, this time onto a piece of guardrail.  (The story of the night was Dixie Carter trying to eliminate anyone who might help A.J. Styles in the main event.)

Samoa Joe vs. Ethan Carter III ended in a no-contest when Rockstar Spud interfered and EC3 took out Joe's knee with a ring wrench.

Sting found James Storm and Phil Gunner both knocked out backstage and confronted Dixie about the night's incidents...

Kurt Angle won a handicap cage match with Bad Influence(Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) when he pinned Kazarian after the Olympic Slam.  Afterwards, Kurt left the building due to some kind of "emergency"...hmm...

Bobby Roode d. Sting in a cage match.  EC3 & Spud distracted Sting and Spud passed in a police baton; Roode hit Sting twice with the baton and walked out the door for the win.

Brutus Magnus d. A.J. Styles in a no-DQ match to become the undisputed Heavyweight Champion.  EC3 and Spud ran in almost immediately but Sting came out to even things up a bit.  The run-ins continued at the behest of Dixie with The Bro Mans & Shiima Xion followed by Bad Influence.  Referee Earl Hebner didn't want to count A.J. down so Dixie sent in Brian Hebner...but he was eventually knocked down.  A.J. hit the Styles Clash and Earl tried to go back in and count, but he was stopped by Daniels & Kazarian.  Finally Bobby Roode ran in and laid out Styles with three Death Valley Drivers...Dixie sent in a third referee to make the three-count.
