Dynamo Special Comment

Now, as promised, a special comment about Saturday's Dynamo Pro Wrestling show at the Stratford Inn in Fenton, Missouri.

Decent turnout to the show; Dynamo is still working on building their audience at this venue. Hopefully the weather issues are in the past, but now it's GOOD weather that may become a factor.

A few minor card changes: Kevin X was absent so Executive Director Mark Bland added Ricky Cruz to the Outtkast-Bradley Charles match, making it a triple threat. Mike Sydal was scheduled to face Mark Sterling, but Sydal instead faced Jeremy Wyatt while Sterling fought Da'Marius Jones.

Your ring announcer was Chris Roedel, your timekeeper was Ben Simon, and your referees were Michael Crase and Jay King.

Jack Gamble & "The Littlest Viking" Jake Parnell vs. The Black Hand Warriors(Michael Magnuson & David DeLorean)(w/ Travis Cook): Oddly, Parnell(now billed as hailing from "The Land Of The Ice & Snow") hasn't teamed with Alexandre Rudolph in this area since embracing the viking character. I think the Bruiser Brody homages are officially out of hand at this point. :) I had wondered about Gamble's allegiances after his actions at a recent WLW show. A miscommunication during the match led to Parnell's defeat at 9:39; DeLorean pinned him after a Vertebreaker(!) from Magnuson. Chaos broke loose after the bell and Travis uncharacteristically took some initiative by entering the ring with a makeshift weapon(a baking pan). The good guys held the high ground...but then Gamble turned on Parnell to officially join the Warriors(as far as Dynamo is concerned). Gamble finished the beatdown with a Canadian Destroyer, so the bar for big moves was set pretty high in the opening segment.

Evan "Money" Morris vs. Ace Hawkins: Solid matchup that resulted in Evan's first win in Dynamo...Espinosa's interference backfired and Morris got the win with an O'Connor Roll in 9:02.

Brandon Aarons vs. Brandon Espinosa(w/ Ace Hawkins): Babewatch explodes! Another solid bout here; Ace got involved a few times and Espy picked up the victory after the jumping DDT in 6:18. The post-match abuse was broken up by Evan Money...tag match in our future? Espinosa's had a few WWE tryouts lately, which is cool to hear...sounds like he had a REALLY busy week.

Mark Bland got another earful from Ricky Cruz(Lucy Mendez was absent as she was wrestling elsewhere this weekend)...that led to the triple threat matchup. There were a few notable absences from this show: Shorty Biggs, Dan Walsh, and Brandon Gallagher. (I only know of Gallagher wrestling somewhere else.)

Tag Team Champion Outtkast vs. Showtime Bradley Charles vs. Ricky Cruz: SBC was in the tweener role for the night. The finish came out of nowhere at 5:53 when Ricky cut off an attempted Kast dive onto SBC with a Roderick Strong-style flying boot for the win. Per Ricky's demands, he's finally earned himself another title shot and it'll happen at next Saturday's Glen Carbon show.

Da'Marius Jones vs. "The Fittest Wrestler On Earth" Mark Sterling: Forgive me for the brevity...I watched a LOT of wrestling this weekend. Another good matchup with Sterling winning via Air Raid Crash in 8:30. Some of these match times may be slightly off; I didn't hear them too clearly at times.

Mike Sydal vs. Jeremy Wyatt: These two have faced each other a few times...Wyatt focused on the leg to slow down the high-flyer(PSYCHOLOGY~!). Yogasault missed and Wyatt got the win with his hanging Sicilian Crab in a bit over twelve minutes.

"Dirdey" Jake Dirden vs. Elvis Aliaga for the Heavyweight Title: This was the third meeting between the two. Dirden defeated Aliaga in January, then the two fought to a no-contest in February. Since then, Aliaga lost the WLW Heavyweight Title to Leland Race but has still had his sights set on Dynamo gold. (Don't think the Black Hand Warriors had their WLW Tag Titles with them on this night.) Of note, Aliaga is aligned with the Warriors in WLW but not in Dynamo. This came off as a battle of fan favorites as Dirden's been gaining crowd support in recent months. In my opinion, this was the best bout of the three as they're more familiar with each other at this point. Aliaga nearly had it won with the TCB(Falcon Arrow) but Wyatt ran in for the DQ/no-contest in 17:36(thanks Ben). Cruz joined him, leading to Dirden/Aliaga briefly joining forces to clear the ring. Mutual respect and all that...but will this lead to a four-way match for the title or a tag match? Elvis still wants da belt too...

Wow...that was a busy couple of days. Espinosa was on all three shows. Dirden/Hawkins/Da'Marius/Parnell were on two. Productive weekend, I will say...

Upcoming:
-Saturday 4/10: Dynamo in Glen Carbon, IL; MMWA in St. Louis, MO(South Broadway)
-Saturday 4/17: SICW in East Carondelet, IL(Jim Cornette appearing, Bobby Heenan questionable due to health issues)
-Tuesday 4/27: Dynamo in St. Louis, MO(Off Broadway)
-Saturday 4/31: Pro Wrestling Championship Series in Granite City, IL

Okay, no more wrestling shows until AT LEAST next weekend, okay? Patrick needs sleep badly...

Good night, good luck, and #yaywrestling.
