-Commentators: Rich Brennan, Byron Saxton, & Corey Graves.
-The show started with the roster on the stage as Triple H spoke about the late "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. Dusty considered the NXT wrestlers his "kids", so they lost a family member. Cue ten-bell salute.
-Greg Hamilton interviewed Hideo Itami(w/ arm in sling) to start the show...he vowed to win the NXT Title when he returned to action. Of course, that caught the ear of the current champion Kevin Owens; he said that Itami was clearly going to be at the NXT Japan special to see him finish off Finn Bálor. Owens denied any involvement in Itami's injury, but wanted an apology for Itami calling him a bad person...heh. Itami reiterated his statement, so Owens decided he might as well do something to deserve the accusations and take care of Itami's good arm. Fortunately, Bálor cut him off before he could get to Itami...Owens tried to get away, but Finn pursued him only to be blindsided by Rhyno and kicked off the entrance stage.
-Enzo Amore & "Big Cass" Colin Cassady(w/ Carmella Van Damme) d. Jason Jordan & Sylvester Lefort when Enzo rolled up Jordan out of nowhere (2:36).
-After last week's show: Samoa Joe heard the fans chanting "Let Them Fight"...but he didn't get the fight he wanted when he faced Kevin Owens. He's ready to fight him again.
-"The Total Diva" Dana Brooke(w/ Emma Tayla) d. Cassie McIntosh with the Whiplash (3:34).
-Backstage: Devin Taylor interviewed Charlotte Flair about her feud with Dana.
-Finn Bálor video package: He likes Legos, as Sami Zayn discovered. Jason Albert met him in Japan and they've been friends ever since. New Japan Pro Wrestling gets some love here. Hey, TAKA Michinoku! Jushin Liger! Hiroshi Tanahashi! What's this "Bullet Club" thing, anyway?
-The Hype Bros(Zack Ryder & Mojo Rawley) d. Angelo Dawkins & Sawyer Fulton when Mojo pinned Dawkins after Mojo boosted Dawkins up into a second-rope Rough Ryder by Zack (4:01).
-Backstage: General Manager S. William Regal met with Eva Marie...she wanted to wrestle on NXT, but Regal told her that she'd have to prove herself first.
-Finn Bálor d. Rhyno; NXT Champion Kevin Owens did commentary and tried to distract Finn late in the match, but Finn still won with the Coup De Grace(top-rope double-stomp) (8:06 aired). Owens attacked Bálor after the bell and Rhyno joined in the assault, but Samoa Joe ran them off.
