-Shayna Baszyer d. Dakota Kai with the Kirifuda Clutch(sleeper with bodyscissors) to retain the NXT Women's Title (5:31).  Baszler reapplied the hold after the bell, leading to Nikki Cross making the save.  Baszler backed away and turned to leave, but Nikki grabbed the title belt from her shoulder and brought it back to the ring, daring Shayna to come and get it.  Nikki challenged Shayna to put the title on the line against her right then and there, recruiting Dakota to officiate...Shayna tried to attack Nikki, but Nikki dropped her with the Purge(swinging fisherman buster) and Dakota made a three-count.  Nikki promptly grabbed the belt and celebrated with it in the audience.

WLW Special Comment

Now, as promised, a special comment about the World League Wrestling show on Saturday, May 5th at the Race Wrestling Arena in Troy, Missouri.

DISCLAIMER:  I'm biased.  Deal with it.

I wasn't sure if I'd be able to go home between the Dynamo Pro matches at the Cinco De Mayo Festival and WLW...as it turned out, it was more efficient to go straight to Troy from Cherokee Street.  Myself and Ben Simon carpooled as usual as we continued our nefarious plans for Midwest wrestling domination...MWAHAHAHA!  Err...anywho, moving on now.

Sadly, Ultimo Dragon's appearance scheduled for June 2nd has since been cancelled...it would have been cool to see him in person.  Nonetheless, gears are turning as it relates to WLW's recent storylines...more on that as we proceed.

Your ring announcer was Dane Horst; your referee was Martin Kattich.

The show kicked off with Kyle Roberts and Superstar Steve Fender being called out to the ring.  Roberts and Scott Steiner had won the Tag Team Titles from Fender and Brandon Espinosa at the Night Of Champions event, but management had reviewed the match video and reversed the decision after the fact, returning the titles to Fender & Espy.  This was due to Steiner not being cleared to officially participate in the match, as well as the use of a steel chair in the finish.  Whether Steiner & Roberts' title reign "counts" in the official championship history is a matter best left to the Internet nitwits, I suppose.  Espy wasn't around to claim his title belt, but Fender was more than happy to hold onto it for him.  Fender attacked Roberts as everyone was taking their leave, but Karim Brigante arrived to run him off.  Roberts only partially appreciated the support, especially since he and Karim were scheduled for a match against each other...and on that note, we had our opener.

"K.B. Violence" Karim Brigante vs. Kyle Roberts for the MWR Missouri Title:  A sombrero came into play in the early going(Cinco De Mayo, you know), but things got serious pretty quickly despite the two both being fan favorites.  This happened to be the only match of the night where the time limit was announced and then noted during the bout, for reference.  Brigante nearly picked up the win after his signature pop-up forearm smash, but Roberts got a foot on the bottom rope.  When he attempted the move again, Roberts countered with a mid-air rana for a close near-fall.  Roberts fought out of a superplex attempt and hit the frog splash, but the 15:00 time limit expired to make it a draw.

Jr. Heavyweight Champion Jayden Dominic Rose vs. "The Wrestler For The People" Rex Fults, non-title:  Rex didn't quite make the weight limit for a title shot at Rose, it would seem.  While Rose had the edge in speed and experience, Rex had raw power and size on his side.  Rex seemed to have things going his way, but Jaden Roller made a grand entrance to antagonize his rival...thanks to the distraction, Rose capitalized with a roundhouse kick to the head and won in 10:51.  Cue verbal exchange between the two, leading to Rex challenging Roller to face him right then and there...

"The Wrestler For The People" Rex Fults vs. "The Heartthrob" Jaden Roller:  It didn't seem like a wise move for a worn-down Rex to challenge a totally fresh Roller, but Rex was motivated to redeem himself after back-to-back losses to The Heartthrob.  In fact, he had an assist from "The Mouth Of The South" Jimmy Hart at Night Of Champions and STILL couldn't get the job done (though Roller's tactics were questionable in the result of that bout).  Rex refused to stay down and took Roller far past what he was likely expecting...Jaden finally had enough and took a walk for the countout loss in 11:57.  That set up a lumberjack match for the June 2nd show...

Intermission~!  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Hot dog(pretty much my dinner for the night), bottle of water, Mountain Dew, Pepsi.

Miss Monica Passeri vs. Stacey O'Brien for the Women's Title:  The championship had been dormant for a while as Monica was back in Italy for several months; she had ended Lucy Mendez's ten-month reign last August.  Stacey didn't come out when her music was played, so they rang the bell and the referee started a ten-count for a potential forfeit...however, Stacey entered the ring from the other side(she may have been hiding under the ring; I didn't catch how she appeared) and attacked Monica from behind, throwing her shoulder-first into the ringpost.  The official checked to make sure Monica could continue, but as soon as he signaled for the match to continue, Stacey hit a Codebreaker for the quick win in 1:22...we have a NEWWWWW WLW Women's Champion!  Hopefully this means that they'll do more with the belt, but it was disappointing to see the match go as short as it did.

Heavyweight Champion "The Hybrid Ace" Jon Webb vs. Tag Team Champion "Superstar" Steve Fender:  I thought this had been announced as a title match, but it was clarified before the bell that it was non-title...I'm not sure why, as Fender is a former Heavyweight Champion and would be considered a worthy challenger.  They got a good amount of time, at any rate; Webb focused on the arm in the early going, but Fender turned the tide and attempted to slow down the champion by attacking the ribs.  Webb rallied but was cut off on the top rope by Fender who delivered a belly-to-belly superplex followed by a swandive headbutt off the top...he nearly scored the win, but Brandon Espinosa's music hit and Fender was distracted (he'd earlier claimed that Espy was "running late").  That allowed Webb to get the rollup pin in 21:37...it was a good match, but the champion didn't look all that strong.  I guess you go the underdog route when the top champion is on the smaller side, though...

At any rate, the weekend rolled on...more on that next time around:  Same Pat-Time, Same Pat-Channel.

June looks like this:
-Saturday 6/2:  World League Wrestling in Troy, Missouri
-Saturday 6/9:  Mid-Missouri Wrestling Alliance in St. Louis, MO(South Broadway Athletic Club)
-Friday 6/15:  Dynamo Pro Wrestling in St. Louis, MO(FUBAR)
-Saturday 6/16:  Pro Wrestling Championship Series in Alton, IL; Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling in East Carondelet; IL; World Powerhouse Wrestling in Collinsville, IL
-Sunday 6/17:  Glory Pro Wrestling/Resurgence in Swansea, IL
-Sunday 6/24:  Wrestling Over Everything in Centreville, IL

That's my special comment for this, the twenty-seventh wrestling show I've attended in the year 2018.  Good night, good luck, and #yaywrestling.

-PB, Watching Wrestling Wrong Since 1991

P.S. We are all marks.

WWE Raw

-Commentators:  Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman, & Corey Graves.
-Finn Bálor d. Braun Strowman by DQ when Kevin Owens(who had been doing commentary) interfered (7:56 aired).  Owens tried to do more damage to both competitors with a ladder, but Strowman got it away from him and Owens ran away.
-Jinder Mahal(w/ Sunil Singh) d. Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins by DQ; Singh interfered repeatedly and Mahal used a chair behind the referee's back, leading to Rollins losing his temper and attacking Mahal with the chair for the disqualification (9:07 aired).  Seth fought off both men with the chair, but was then hit from behind by "The Drifter" Elias Samson's guitar.
-Raw Women's Champion Nia Jax vs. Michelle Webb(non-title) never officially started as Nia turned it into a dominant "exhibition", powering out of an armbar attempt before destroying her would-be opponent; this was for the viewing benefit of guest commentator Ronda Rousey.
-Raw Tag Team Champions The Deleters Of Worlds("Broken/Woken" Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt) d. The Ascension(Konnor O'Brian & Rick Viktor)(non-title); Hardy pinned Viktor after he and Wyatt hit the Kiss Of Deletion(double Sister Abigail) (4:46).
-Kevin Owens d. "The Glorious" Bobby Roode by blocking a sunset flip attempt (6:30 aired).  Braun Strowman chased Owens back to the ring and laid him out with the running powerslam, then slammed Roode to the mat as well.
-Drew McIntyre(w/ Dolph Ziggler) d. Chad Gable with the Claymore(flying boot) (4:45).
-Gauntlet Match:  Bayley Rose d. Liv Morgan with the Belly-To-Bayley Hugplex (0:11).  Bayley d. Sarah Logan via victory roll (1:48).  Ruby Riot d. Mickie James via rollup with a handful of tights (8:26 aired).  "The Boss" Sasha Banks d. Ruby with the Bank Statement(modified Crippler Crossface) after fighting off interference by Liv and Sarah (14:53 aired).
-Next week:  Finn Bálor vs. Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Roode, Nia Jax vs. Natalya Neidhart, and a tag team battle royal.

Dynamo Special Comment

Now, as promised, a special comment about the Dynamo Pro Wrestling event on the afternoon of Saturday, May 5th at the Cinco De Mayo Festival on Cherokee Street in St. Louis, Missouri.

DISCLAIMER:  I'm biased.  Deal with it.

We thought I was behind on these commentaries BEFORE...a short hospital stay for anemia will alter plans by a great margin.  It also derailed my plans to go to Pro Wrestling Resurgence in Swansea, IL this past Sunday...I will have to catch up through either YouTube or DVD.  In the meantime, let's set the not-so-wayback machine for my loaded four-show weekend earlier this month.

Cinco De Mayo has produced some outstanding exposure for local wrestling, starting with the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Alliance holding matches there for a few years before Dynamo picked up the spot.  It always draws a good crowd to check out the shows, often turning the heads of people who wouldn't otherwise get a chance to watch independent wrestling.

Your ring announcers were Chris Roedel & Luke Roberts(who showed exceptional bravery by wearing a Chicago Cubs cap); your referee was Jay King.

Camaro Jackson vs. "The Gypsy Warrior" Orion Creed:  Riding the momentum of his win the previous evening over D'Mone Solavino, Jackson hoped to make it two in a row against Creed.  It was a battle of fan favorites with the crowd support evenly split between the two...it could have gone either way, but Jackson got the pinfall with a fireman's-carry Michinoku Driver in 8:14.

Outtkast vs. Jimmi LaFleur:  These two have been on opposite sides of a recent tag feud, with LaFleur aligning with fellow newcomer Tony Esteem and Outtkast joining forces with Ricky Rodriguez.  Esteem & LaFleur got the best of the previous night's tag match, so Outtkast was looking for payback...Rodriguez and Esteem would face each other later in the afternoon.  Outtkast has been through the wars for many years(despite a hiatus between the end of Gateway Championship Wrestling and his return to action with Dynamo) and it's starting to catch up to him a bit...with his high-impact and high-risk style, it's not really a surprise.  LaFleur was game but the experience edge was just too much for him; Outtkast beat him with the Case Study in 8:07.

"The Spanish Red Devil" Ricky Rodriguez vs. Roy "The Strangler" Lewis:  Other than Outtkast, the first half of the show prominently featured a lot of newer faces...it's good to see the new blood of the Midwest get a chance to shine.  I anticipated Ricky getting a moment in the sun in honor of the holiday, but I was slightly off base in that regard.  He was definitely popular with the fans who took an interest in the festivities...he got off a good run of offense, but Lewis rolled through a cross-bodyblock off the top rope and held the tights for the cheap win in 8:56.

Battle Royal:  The winner would get a Heavyweight Title shot at Makaze in the second half of the show.  The three resident female competitors were included in the competition as well, which made for an interesting dynamic.  Several rookie entrants made their in-ring debuts in this battle royal, those being William Myers and Mynakin.  Tag Team Champion Viktor Von Stein made a point to set up the ladies for elimination and then let them go in a mocking manner...that's not nice.  Mynakin was the first one out at the hands of Adrian Surge, then Von Stein threw out Myers to take out the rookie contingent.  Von Stein eliminated Outtkast as well, then Orion Creed avenged his prior loss by throwing out Camaro Jackson.  The women finally had enough of Von Stein's bullying and put aside their individual differences to triple-team him out of the ring.  Of course that alliance didn't last long as Rahne Victoria turned on her compatriots...Rahne threw out Creed and then eliminated Tootie Lynn Ramsey before being tossed by Savanna Stone.  Savanna could have stayed in the fight, but Rahne decided to get a parting shot by shoving Savanna off the top rope to the outside...OUCH.  The final four were Surge, Jackal, Jimmi LaFleur, and Tony Esteem...the recent tag team partners joined forces, leading to Esteem eliminating Surge.  That left Jackal on his own, but he withstood the assault to eliminate LaFleur and then Esteem for the win in 9:35!  That meant Makaze would defend his title against Jackal later in the afternoon...

Intermission~!  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  There was a unique set of concessions available at the Cinco De Mayo Festival and I indulged in a waffles-and-chocolate-ice-cream sandwich.  There was a convenience store near the site of the wrestling matches, so I got a Gatorade there in my effort to cut back on soda.  The effort hit a snag, as usual, as I got a Vess cola later in the afternoon.

Savanna Stone vs. Tootie Lynn Ramsey vs. Rahne Victoria:  This stemmed from the interactions in the battle royal, not to mention the already-existing issues between the three.  Savanna's arm was hurt from the bad fall earlier in the day but she toughed it out here.  I'll sound like a broken record in my praise of the local women's wrestling scene, but I can only hope that another local promotion(besides World League Wrestling) starts up a women's championship.  On top of that, they're only a year into their respective careers (even less in Tootie's case) and have plenty of time to learn and grow as competitors.  Since the fan favorites Savanna and Tootie won their tag match pretty decisively the previous evening, things balanced out with Rahne getting the duke in this one...she had no qualms about targeting Savanna's injury.  Rahne dropped Savanna with a spinebuster, then powerbombed Tootie onto Savanna for good measure...she covered both women for the three-count in 7:06, reaffirming her claim to being the "Empress Of Evil" in Dynamo's ranks.

"The Spanish Red Devil" Ricky Rodriguez vs. Tony Esteem:  After suffering a tough loss earlier in the day, Rodriguez hoped to rebound against one of his recent rivals.  Would the fan support be enough to carry him to victory?  Well...not quite, thanks to some underhanded tactics on the part of Esteem.  Rodriguez seemed to be on the way to a hard-fought win, but a well-timed mule kick by Esteem allowed him to deliver a headlock driver for the screwy victory in 5:19.

"Lights Out" Adrian Surge vs. Tag Team Champion Viktor Von Stein:  Surge had an uphill battle against a larger opponent, but after missing out on a title opportunity in the battle royal, he was looking for a huge win to maintain his momentum in the championship picture.  He had beaten Makaze in a non-title bout the previous evening in Glen Carbon, so he had definitely made his case for a future title opportunity.  This was one of the longer matches of the afternoon as Surge tried everything in his arsenal to knock the big guy down...he even delivered an RKO OUTTA NOWHERE for a near-fall.  Surge teased a chokeslam on the big guy, which didn't seem like a sound strategy...but after several attempts, Surge was finally able to chokeslam Von Stein and get the pinfall in 11:58!  Adding insult to injury, Surge delivered a post-match RKO to Von Stein and encouraged referee Jay King to make a pin cover while he counted three.

"The Wind Of Destruction" Makaze vs. Jackal for the Heavyweight Title:  A burlesque fire dancer accompanied Makaze to the ring; the champion was fresh while Jackal had to go through the battle royal to earn the title shot.  It had been quite some time since these two last crossed paths in the ring...times change and both guys have added new wrinkles to their game plans.  In particular, Makaze has developed a recent tendency to sink to previously-unseen depths in order to achieve victory.  With the level of experience brought to the table by both competitors, neither was likely to make a huge mistake...Jackal came close to scoring the upset on a few occasions, but got caught with a superkick as he charged into the corner.  Makaze took advantage of the situation and covered with feet on the ropes for the cheap pin in 8:33.  The champ hung onto his title, but Jackal dropped him with the Killswitch #2(step-up Tomakazi) to end the afternoon on a high note.

Dynamo had a fun weekend all around...things would continue for me with World League Wrestling and then Glory Pro Wrestling over the following few days.  More on that in future commentaries...

June looks like this:
-Saturday 6/2:  World League Wrestling in Troy, Missouri
-Saturday 6/9:  Mid-Missouri Wrestling Alliance in St. Louis, MO(South Broadway Athletic Club)
-Friday 6/15:  Dynamo Pro Wrestling in St. Louis, MO(FUBAR)
-Saturday 6/16:  Pro Wrestling Championship Series in Alton, IL; Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling in East Carondelet; IL; World Powerhouse Wrestling in Collinsville, IL
-Sunday 6/17:  Glory Pro Wrestling/Resurgence in Swansea, IL
-Sunday 6/24:  Wrestling Over Everything in Centreville, IL

That's my special comment for this, the twenty-sixth wrestling show I've attended in the year 2018.  Good night, good luck, and #yaywrestling.

Comedy Part 803: Hey Guys, Guess I'm Up

Location:  Hey Guys Comedy
Emcee:  Jake Beckman
Headliner:  Mike Merryfield

I stopped by the club this evening to check out the show since I'd worked with Mike a few times in the past.  They didn't have a feature scheduled, but Bruce Veach asked at the last minute if I wanted to do a guest set...sure, why not?  I went up and did a strong five minutes which went over really well with the audience...can't ask for much more than that.  Bruce's main piece of advice has been that I do better when I don't overthink my set...that seems to be the case from my experience.  With several longer sets under my belt, I hope to get booked for a feature set at an area club in the near future.

Dynamo Special Comment

Now, as promised, a special comment about the Dynamo Pro Wrestling show on Friday, May 4th at the Sports Academy in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

DISCLAIMER:  I'm biased.  Deal with it.

It was a very full weekend with four shows on my personal schedule...I felt it after the fact.  Now that I'm forty years old, I may have to slow down...at the very least, I need to get in better shape.  I'm around 233 pounds at last check and already have high blood pressure (on top of allergy season kicking my behind), so I need to shape up.  I've finished up my mandatory overtime at my job, so I have a bit more spare time (even if I just spend it in bed).

Since this show took place on May 4th, it was "May The Fourth Be With You" night with the Star Wars motif in play...I did find a T-shirt that fit the theme, though I probably need to drop some poundage in the future so it'll fit better.

Your ring announcer was Chris Roedel; your referees were Scott Ramsey & Jay King; your video commentators were Luke Roberts & Patrick Brandmeyer.

Billy McNeil vs. "The Caramel Bear" C.J. Shine vs. Jace Sparkle:  Newcomer Sparkle was announced as hailing from San Francisco and had glitter in his goatee, along with largely pink attire complete with tutu; he entered to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper.  While Shine was coming off a turn on tag team partner Outtkast at the previous show, he seemed to be in a better mood on this night.  McNeil was making his return to Dynamo after a long absence.  Sparkle's obnoxious attitude made him the clear rulebreaker in this one with Shine somewhere in the middle.  As is often the case in this style of matchup, alliances were formed and quickly broke down because THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE...I noted on commentary that "Shine & Sparkle" would be a good tag team name and of course they turned on each other right around that time.  McNeil picked up the pinfall over Sparkle with an elbowdrop off the top rope to the back of a bent-over Sparkle in 8:57.

Adrian Surge came out and said that he wants a Heavyweight Title shot at Makaze, stemming from Makaze going out of his way to cost Surge the D-1 Title ladder match a few weeks prior.  This brought out the champion; the war of words led to a grudge match for the night's main event, though Makaze said the belt would NOT be at stake.  Aww.

Jackal & "The Spanish Red Devil" Ricky Rodriguez vs. Tony Esteem & Jimmi LaFleur:  With Esteem having recovered from his recent bout of poison ivy(of all things), these two teams finally met in a proper tag bout.  Rodriguez had a bandaged shoulder and it turned out to be a bullseye for the opponents to target (PSYCHOLOGY~!).  Jackal rallied near the end of the match, but made the mistake of tagging his wounded partner back into the fray...Esteem and LaFleur isolated him and Esteem got the pin after they hit a sideslam/top-rope elbowdrop combo in 9:36.

Camaro Jackson vs. "The Nephilim" D'Mone Solavino:  Jackson had his Star Wars T-shirt for the evening's festivities.  Solavino opted for a pair of black angel's wings; I'd seen his name on lineups for Cape Championship Wrestling but this was my first time seeing him in person.  If you like counter-wrestling, this was the match for you...and hey, I like counter-wrestling.  The Nephilim took control and focused his attack on the back after delivering an Alabama Slam...he even busted out an inverted Gory Special at one point.  After mostly sticking to a ground game, Solavino went aerial with a rana only for Jackson to counter into a sunset flip for the surprise pin in 10:45!  Nicely done.

Savanna Stone & Tootie Lynn Ramsey vs. Miss Monica Passeri & Rahne Victoria:  It would be safe to say that these four women know each other very well.  The rulebreaking duo isolated Tootie for several minutes, focusing their attack on her arm(PSYCHOLOGY~! as one of Monica's signature moves is the Fujiwara armbar).  Hot tag Savanna, bonzo gonzo, and the fan favorites hit stereo spears for simultaneous pins(Savanna on Monica and Tootie on Rahne, for reference) in 8:45.  This time around Tootie's win over Rahne was totally clean (as she used the ropes in March in a case of fighting fire with fire).

"K.B. Violence" Karim Brigante vs. The Snitch:  Brigante came out with the MWR Missouri Title but it was a non-title match.  Snitch had a surprisingly reserved soliloquy for Chris Roedel on this night.  While both competitors went in as rulebreakers, Snitch's attitude tipped the scales of fan support in favor of Brigante...Brigante had the advantage in size and power, so Snitch sought to neutralize that by clipping the knee and working on the leg (PSYCHOLOGY~!).  Brigante was able to limp his way through a comeback, but his knee gave out when he attempted his pop-up forearm smash finisher...that led to Snitch rolling him up for the upset victory in 7:26!  Snitch tried to leave with the MWR Missouri Title, only for Chris Roedel to inform him that the belt was not at stake...so Karim put a stop to his antics by dropping him with the pop-up forearm on the second try.  Perhaps we'll see a rematch on the Missouri side of the river with the title on the line...

Intermission~!  Official Ben Simon Concession Count(tm):  Hot dog and water...technically the concessions were acquired before the show since I'd had zero dinner between work and the event, but oh well.

Outtkast vs. Tag Team Champion Viktor Von Stein:  The Agents Of Chaos had gotten involved in Outtkast's D-1 Title tournament match, costing him a win over The Snitch...so the former titleholder was looking for payback.  Oddly, only Von Stein of the Agents was present at the Dynamo shows for the weekend and Xavier Shadowz was absent.  Outtkast's straight-ahead brawling style wasn't as effective as usual against his larger opponent, but he was able to wear the big man down over the course of the matchup.  With Von Stein's usual backup not in the house, it was up to The Snitch to run interference.  (I saw him lurking near the broadcast position but wasn't sure if he'd get directly involved...)  The masked man occupied the referee as the fight spilled out of the ring...Outtkast took the opportunity to swing at Von Stein with a chair, but Von Stein avoided the attack and Kast struck the ringpost.  The official turned around after hearing the sound of someone/something being hit with the chair...and Von Stein dropped to the floor, acting like Kast had hit him with the weapon.  That led to a rather underhanded DQ victory for Von Stein in 8:59...aww...

Mike Outlaw vs. "The Heartthrob" Jaden Roller:  I had to get in a dumb joke about Roller's recent televised exploits, saying that he sometimes looks like he just stepped out of someone's conga line.  With both guys in the hunt for the Heavyweight Title, the outcome of this bout would go a long way in determining who would move up the ladder of contention and who would suffer a setback.  Roller had a game plan as he targeted the ribs of Outlaw(PSYCHOLOGY~!)...this hampered Outlaw's comeback attempts as he had trouble drawing a full breath.  They had a fairly lengthy matchup compared to the other bouts on the show...Outlaw finally got a rally going, but Roller knocked him off the middle rope when he attempted his springboard European uppercut.  After that, Jaden rolled him up with feet on the ropes for the cheap win in 13:10...I suspect there will be another day for Outlaw, especially as it relates to The Heartthrob.

Heavyweight Champion "The Wind Of Destruction" Makaze vs. "Lights Out" Adrian Surge, non-title:  Both guys were in the Star Wars midset for the night; Surge had the Jedi robe and a toy lightsaber, while Makaze opted for his own style of robe, a Darth Vader mask, and a kendo stick in lieu of a lightsaber.  It didn't take long for this grudge match to get out of hand as the two brawled out of the ring and all over the Sports Academy...Surge even threw Makaze into the soccer goal at one point!  While Makaze had a huge experience advantage, Surge had a lot of momentum on his side...and while the title may not have been at stake, Surge picked up a huge win with his signature spinebuster in 11:58!  That definitely puts Surge in position for a future title opportunity...

I've got a lot of catching up to do, so I'll keep things moving...see ya next time:  Same Pat-Time, Same Pat-Channel.

That's my special comment for this, the twenty-fifth wrestling show I've attended in the year 2018.  Good night, good luck, and #yaywrestling.
