WWE NXT
Commentators: Tony Dawson(still around for this taping), Alex Riley, & Renee Young(for the opener). Ring announcer: Byron Saxton.
Santino Marella & Emma Tayla vs. Johnny Fandango & Summer Rae: Renee interviews Emma during her entrance, setting up Santino's appearance as her partner. The two aren't quite on the same page in terms of dance moves and power-walking. The pose-off shockingly goes in favor of the face team, as does the dance-off...the fans inform Fandango that "You Got Served". Things settle into Actual Wrestling(tm) for a short time with Santino getting the upper hand...but the faces have trouble grasping the difference between a tag and a high-five.
Fandango takes control as I note that the ladies haven't really been in the match yet(other than a few cheapshots from Summer)...but Santino keeps rolling out of range for the guillotine legdrop. Marella gets a backslide out of nowhere for two, then Emma finally gets a hot tag and goes to town on Summer! Tarantula sets up the low cross-body in the corner...for two. Santino gives her a lesson in Cobra striking but Summer takes her over in a flying bodyscissors...CATFIIIIIGHT~! The faces do stereo splits, stereo hiptosses, and stereo saluting headbutts...then Santino finishes Fandango with the Cobra!
The Ascension: Future NXT Tag Champs?
Kassius Ohno vs. Luke Harper: The Wyatt Family attacked Ohno and put him on the shelf several months ago, but now Ohno's back and looking for revenge. Harper is notably flying solo tonight without Bray Wyatt or Erick Rowan in his corner...he's announced as hailing from Snakebite, Florida. Ohno gets in a few good shots but Harper overpowers him for most of the bout. Kassius rallies and hits a swinging dropkick through the ropes, but runs into IT'S THE BIG FOOT back in the ring. Avalanche, discus lariat, pin.
Backstage: Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady are still gunning for the gold. They're such big stars that they take media showers! They trash Lefort's Legionnaires...Cassady feels like they spend too much time at the local taco stand. They probably don't like the hard-shell tacos cuz they're S-A-W-F-T...SAWFT~!
Next week: Mojo Rawley debuts. He doesn't get hyped...he stays hyped!
Corey Graves & Adrian Neville vs. The Ascension(Conor O'Brian & Rick Victor) for the NXT Tag Team Titles: The champs enter separately...hmm. The commentators wonder if Graves is still hurting from the recent beatdown at the hands of O'Brian & Victor. Neville brings the FLIPPIES~! against Victor but O'Brian's a bit tougher to handle. Graves gets the tag and goes on offense, but he runs into a Flapjack and that puts the Twilight Twosome in control.
O'Brian targets the achy-breaky ribs with a bodyscissors...Riley compares the Ascension to the Road Warriors which is a BIT much. Graves finally avoids a blind charge by Victor that hits only ringpost...hot tag to Neville! Educated feet! Both challengers end up on the floor...and he nails the twisting plancha! He throws Victor back into the ring for a springboard dropkick...that gets two. Adrian stuns him with a roundhouse kick from the apron...Red Arrow(corkscrew shooting star press) MISSES as O'Brian pulls his partner out of the way. Victor goes for the pin...but Graves breaks it up. Graves pulls his partner to the corner so he can tag in...but runs into a flying knee strike from Victor! O'Brian gets the tag...TOTAL ASCENSION hits and O'Brian gets the pin for NEWWWWW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!
Next week: Rob Van Dam pays a visit to NXT.
NXT Champion Bo Dallas is here to introduce his namesake invitational...if someone can beat him, that person will get a title shot in two weeks.
NXT Champion Bo Dallas vs. "This Guy"(non-title): The first volunteer doesn't even get an introduction...the fans oblige with chants of "Let's Go This Guy". They follow the Code Of Honor and This Guy gets an early rollup for two...the champ's not smiling any more. The fans start a "This Guy" chant...heh. Bo turns up the aggression and finishes in short order with the spear.
Bo says he feels great...any other volunteers? Enter Leo Kruger...this could be a bit tougher. Antonio Cesaro comes out as well, leading to an argument over who gets the next shot at the champ. The fans want a triple threat...Cesaro takes the first cheapshot and beats Kruger out of the ring, so Dallas high-knees Cesaro to the floor. How about...El Local?
NXT Champion Bo Dallas vs. El Local(non-title): Local looks...a bit different than usual. Bo goes for an immediate spear but Local leapfrogs him and Bo eats turnbuckle. CORNER OLE KICK~! and El Local gets the pin just like that! That was a surprise...but the fans think they know who's under the mask. Local pulls off the hood...and yup, it's Sami Zayn! I THOUGHT El Local was looking a bit...generic...

-Samoa Joe d. Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray(w/ Brooke Tessmacher)(non-title) by DQ; the referee was knocked down but recovered in time to see Ray hit Joe with a chain. A.J. Styles(who had been ejected from the building by Dixie Carter earlier in the night) jumped the guardrail to save Joe from a post-match piledriver on the floor.
