With shows on the same night, Ben Simon was the ring announcer for MMWA at South Broadway while Drew Abbenhaus did the honors at SICW. Gary Jackson worked both shows(the opener at SICW and the elimination tag at MMWA) so he wasn't in the Belleville Rumble.
I didn't get why the opener got almost fifteen minutes just to end in a cheap DQ. They're pushing dissension between Texan and Waco...well, it's not like there are Tag Team Titles.
It looked like Flanagan might cost Powers his match to Rudolph, but the inteference finally backfired at the end of the match. After that, Powers teased interfering in Flanagan's bout with Jake Dirden, but he never directly got involved and they just brawled to a double countout.
It's enough that Chaz Wesson and Ax Allwardt both refer to themselves as "Old School Warriors", but they even had nearly-identical ring attire on this show!
It seems like Travis Cook always sticks his nose into the business of the visiting guests...that earned him some guitar abuse later in the night.
The only people on the card who weren't in the Belleville Rumble were Gary Jackson, Classic Champion Ken Kasa, and Daniel Eads(a last-minute substitution for the injured Adam Raw).
Travis was not in Kasa's corner due to the beating he took from the Honky Tonk Man, so the champion requested a moment of silence in his manager's honor...the fans did not oblige.
I THINK I got most of the battle royal eliminations right...Powers, Flanagan, and Cruz all went out right in a row. Good ending with Dirden going over the top but catching himself on the apron...he fought back against Vaughn before backdropping him to the floor from the apron for the win.
I'm going to a family outing next Saturday so I may not make it to the next SICW show in East Carondelet. Hey, I go to wrestling shows all the time...I don't see my family nearly enough these days. The weekend after that is CSCW in Swansea(as well as Dynamo in Pittsfield). No plans to go to Raw in St. Louis tonight...just heard Daniel Bryan on 105.7 The Point this morning. Bwahahaha...
