NXT + Impact

WWE NXT

Commentators:  Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, Lord Tensai, & Renee Young(for the women's match).  Ring announcer:  Eden Rhodes.

Sin Cara vs. Alexander Rusev(w/ Lana Perry):  Sin Cara saved Xavier Woods from a post-match attack by Rusev two weeks ago, so we have this bout.  The masked man tries to stick and move, but he doesn't hit a moonsault press too cleanly...when he tries to jump off the ropes again, Rusev meets him in mid-air with a dropkick to the ribs!  Rusev dominates the action from there...Sin Cara gets off a tornado DDT out of nowhere but can't capitalize with a pin attempt.  Middle-rope springboard cross-body gets two.  Flying headscissors and rope-handspring elbow...get two.  Rusev fends him off with a big foot to the gut, then blocks a victory roll attempt by dumping Sin Cara off his shoulders onto his face.  That puts him in prime position for the Accolade camel clutch...there's the tapout.  Lana orders him to relase the hold, then to reapply it...why not?  Another referee has to help convince him to cut it out...Lana finally signals for him to back off.

Emma Tayla vs. Alicia Fox:  Emma is riding high after her initial appearances on WWE television...but Alicia's a former Women's Champion and will be a tough test for her.  Even Tensai does the Emma dance!  Alicia tries it herself but doesn't care for it...time for some YAY WRESTLING~!  Alicia hits a major dropkick to take control...Emma tries for the Dil-Emma(Tarantula) but Alicia blocks it and snaps her neck off the top rope.  Northern Lights suplex...gets two.  They trade shots and Emma gets an O'Connor Roll for a near-fall...then Fox's blind charge hits only turnbuckles.  Emma hits a low cross-body with Alicia slumped in the corner, then catapults her to mid-ring and transitions into the Emma Lock(inverted STF) for the submission!

Emma gets the microphone...once Paige Knight returns from her injury, she's officially challenging her to a rematch for the NXT Women's Title.  Time for more dancing...but Sasha Banks runs in only to get thrown out of the ring.  Summer Rae jumps in as well and Alicia re-enters for fun...Charlotte Flair isn't far behind.  Natalya Neidhart and Bayley Rose run in to help and the heels bail...except for Summer who's left alone.  Emma tosses Summer by the hair and the good girls claim a clean house.

Mason Ryan vs. Sylvester Lefort:  These two had a dispute during Lefort's backstage "auditions"...I don't see this ending well for the Frenchman.  Ryan agreed to be Lefort's client if Sylvester wins here...yeah.  A cheapshot on the break only serves to fire up Ryan...a Stungun, IT'S THE BIG FOOT, and cobra clutch slam end it in short order.

Backstage, Aiden English sits in his director's chair.  He threatened a man in a wheelchair and he's proud of it.  He ran over his foot with his wheelchair so he had it coming.  "The curtain has fallen" on that issue so English is looking ahead to his match tonight.  "Oh Canada...I hope I make you cry..."

Backstage:  Sylvester Lefort didn't want to work with Mason Ryan anyway...he vows revenge.

Tyson Kidd vs. Aiden English:  "Spotlight PLEASE!"  Aiden sings his way to the ring as usual.  YAY WRESTLING~!  Kidd gets an early monkeyflip but his the ropes painfully on a missed cross-body...English takes over from there.  He grabs a chinlock and trash-talks the fans, but he runs into a headscissors out of the corner by Kidd.  Kidd unloads with the educated feet but runs into a knee to the head and snap suplex...for two.  Colin Cassady makes his way to ringside and tries on Aiden's beret and scarf for size...Aiden yells at Big Cass but Kidd has climbed to the top rope behind him.  Cass throws the beret past English...and when English turns around, he runs right into Kidd's Buff Blockbuster!  That'll do it...Tensai calls the finisher "No-Kidding", okay.

Adrian Neville vs. Corey Graves:  These guys were once NXT Tag Team Champions but that seems like a long time ago.  Graves turned on Neville, leading to a series of matches that ended with Graves on the injured list with a concussion.  Graves stalls in the ropes, but Neville blocks a cheapshot kick and brings the FLIPPIES~!  Adrian chases him out of the ring and Graves hits him on re-entry, but Neville battles back as things devolve into a slugfest.  Adrian finally takes him down with a headlock, but Graves gets in a cheapshot for real this time.  Neville returns fire and Graves goes to the floor again, but this time Adrian follows him out with a twisting somersault plancha!  Graves gets back in the ring first and is able to kick out Neville's knee on re-entry...that JUST might ground him.

Cue the leg work from Graves as he looks for the Lucky 13(Fuller Leglock).  but Neville gets a surprise rollup for two.  Graves immediately dropkicks the knee and gets his own two-count, then maintains his focus on the leg.  FOOT DDT~! gets two.  Adrian kicks his way out of a leghold but runs into a fireman's-carry backbreaker...for two.  Graves covers for a few more two-counts before sending Neville floorward...he teases a piledriver on the floor(!) but gets backdropped!  Neville drags himself back into the ring(SELLING~!) as Corey is close behind.  Adrian fights back but he can't take to the air like he usually can...the commentators note that he's focusing on the head due to Graves' previous concussion.  Adrian gets off a dropkick from the second rope but only gets two.  Graves kicks out the knee and then legdives him, but Adrian rolls to the ropes to avoid a potential Lucky 13.  Graves pulls him up but eats a big roundhouse kick from the apron...Corey is down and Adrian pulls himself to the top rope.  Red Arrow(corkscrew shooting star press)...HITS and that's the ballgame!

Neville gets a hard-fought win but what shape will he be in for his title match?  Enter NXT Champion Bo Dallas...he takes off his suit jacket, but Chief Operating Officer Triple H makes his presence known before anything can happen.  HHH says that the end-of-February special is a big deal, so he wants What's Best For Business(tm):  A ladder match!
