ROH + SICW

ROH TV

Commentators:  Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness.

The Briscoe Brothers vs. BLK OUT(Ruckus & BLK Jeez), Tag Team Title Tournament:  Ironically, BLK Jeez(aka Rashad Cameron) also competed on TNA Impact as part of the X-Division revival...something that led to Kenny King leaving ROH and causing the Tag Team Title vacancy in the first place.  If I have the brackets right, the winners will face Rhett Titus & Charlie Haas in the semifinals...the other semifinal will be Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino.  Kelly relates the factoid that Ruckus used to be MUCH bigger, but dropped a lot of weight and became a super-agile high-flyer.  Jeez takes out both Briscoes with a somersault plancha, then Ruckus dives onto both with a running shooting star press off the apron...nice!  Impressive showing by BLK OUT, but Mark & Jay are the big favorites in the tournament as the former seven-time Tag Champs.  Jay cuts off a late rally with a big forearm smash on Ruckus, then lays him out with a Rude Awakening to set up Mark's Froggy-Bow!  Jay gets the pin and the Briscoes advance in the tournament!

Veda Scott interviews Truth Martini about Rhino's upcoming Heavyweight Title at Kevin Steen.  He blows off concerns about dissension between Roderick Strong and Michael Elgin...as far as Kevin Steen and company are concerned, "truth will always outnumber SCUM".

Mike Sydal vs. Mike Bennett(w/ Maria Kanellis & Brutal Bob Evans):  Hey, I know that guy!  Maria's tiny shorts should be in the Tale Of The Tape, in my opinion.  Brutal Bob does guest commentary...he has some interesting perspectives.  Sydal gets an early flurry but Bennett dropkicks him off the ropes to the floor.  The commentators note that Todd Sinclair is officiating the match...Bennett and company once had issues with him over his officiating.  Sinclair personally stops Bennett from doing a piledriver(illegal in ROH), resulting in Sydal getting a jackknife cradle for a close near-fall!  Sydal nails the flying double-knee drive off the second rope and standing moonsault...for another close two-count!  However, he takes too much time setting up his next move and runs into IT'S THE BIG FOOT.  TKO hits but Bennett pulls him up from the pin, then locks on a cobra clutch...but Mike Mondo comes out to ringside and plants a kiss on Maria!  Bennett goes out after Mondo and chases him around ringside, then back to the dressing room...oops, match still in progress.  The count reaches twenty and Sydal wins by countout!  Brutal Bob blows a gasket at the broadcast table...

Mike Posey vs. Tommaso Ciampa(w/ R.D. Evans):  I know Posey from the NWA Wildside/Anarchy promotion among other places...this could be a rough night for him.  Ciampa runs him over with IT'S THE BIG FOOT right out of the gate and it's mostly downhill from there for Posey.  The Barrister boasts about screwing over Prince Nana and taking every asset from him, including Ciampa.  A Panic Attack barrage(sans kneepad) leads to Project Ciampa and that's the ballgame...but out of nowhere, Nana shows up at the broadcast table and throttles R.D. Evans!  Ciampa runs up to the broadcast position but Nana hightails it out of there.

Adam Cole vs. Michael Elgin(w/ Truth Martini & Guardians Of Truth) for the T.V. Title:  The winner of this match defends against Mike Mondo at Death Before Dishonor...Elgin won the previous one-on-one encounter with Cole.  Elgin ignores his manager and does the pre-match handshake.  YAY WRESTLING~!  Endgame comes as they trade finisher teases but neither man can put the other away.  Second-rope sunset flip by Cole is rolled through for a turnbuckle powerbomb by Elgin...whoops, right into the referee.  The Guardians immediately jump in the ring to put the boots to Cole, but Elgin takes exception to those actions...then Heavyweight Champion Kevin Steen, Jimmy Jacobs, and Steve Corino arrive on the scene!  Jacobs & Corino brawl with the Guardians...leaving El Big Staredown between Steen and Elgin.  Oh boy.  They start fighting, but then Rhino enters the fray to attack Steen...THEN Roderick Strong gets involved and gets into a shoving match with Elgin.  Martini tries to play peacemaker and all hell is breaking loose as the show fades out...  (Oh yeah, no-contest.)

SICW Wrestling Explosion

Commentator:  Larry Matysik.

Ricky Cruz d. Ken Kasa(w/ Travis Cook) to retain the Classic Title.  Kasa repeatedly used his spiked facemask as a weapon with Cook distracting the referee, but the tactic finally backfired as the referee didn't see Cruz fight fire with fire with a low blow.  That set up the Cruz Control(swinging fisherman buster) for the win.  A frustrated Travis actually hit the referee from behind after the match, leading to promoter Herb Simmons suspending him and having him escorted out of the building by local police officers!

Flashback to August 1981:  Kerry Von Erich fought Ken Patera to a time-limit draw.
