AAPW Collision #23

Commentators:  Kevin Hunsperger & Chris Hagstrom.

Team Overkill(Matt Cage & Christian Rose)(w/ Zakk Sawyer) vs. Brandon Espinosa & Ace Hawkins for the Tag Team Titles:  The champs do not care for streamers.  We're still getting everyone on the same page as to whether Espinosa & Hawkins are still known as "Minor Threat".  These teams have fought before, though the outcome of that match was apparently a bit controversial(courtesy of a Greco-Roman BELT to the head).  YAY WRESTLING~!  That only lasts for a few minutes though...tempers flare as Hawkins gets a blind tag and wails on Rose.  The challengers make some quick tags and work on Rose...I approve of BOTH tag teams sporting matching ring attire, by the way.  Sawyer makes a nuisance of himself, distracting Ace long enough for an eyerake by Rose, a slingshot-through-the-ropes Stunner by Cage, and IT'S THE BIG FOOT from Rose!  Yeahhhhh, that'll alter the momentum just a bit.

Hawkins is left in the wrong part of town...even Sawyer gets in a few shots while the ref is tied up with Espinosa.  Ace gets a few hope spots but the champs cut him off as Zakk polishes up one of the belts.  Hawkins gets Rose in a victory roll for two, but the kickout conveniently propels Ace right to his corner for the hot tag!  Espinosa is a house afire...uranagi backbreaker on Cage!  Rude Awakening on Rose with Ace adding a top-rope splash!  Cover...Cage saves.  No one's sure who's legal as all four men are battling...but a double clothesline sends Cage to the floor.  Rose throws Hawkins shoulder-first into the ringpost and tries to roll up Espinosa with feet on the ropes...for two!  The challengers double up on Rose but Sawyer pulls Hawkins out of the ring as they set up to finish.  Zakk throws in the title belt and Espinosa gets BELTed by Rose...right in front of the ref, so that's a DQ.  Espinosa & Hawkins win...but Cage & Rose are still the champions.

Heavyweight Champion isn't worried about Heath Hatton tonight...sure.

Chocolate Thunder vs. Roscoe Dwayne Harris of The Convoy(w/ Jimmy Wayne Faygo):  The truckers hail from "The Open Road".  This will be more of a size-and-power battle than our previous matchup, I would suspect.  Harris gets the idea that he can do a guillotine legdrop...he can, but Thunder's not there when he lands.  Thunder whips Harris into a spinebuster but Faygo runs in for the DQ...I'm sensing a trend on this show.  The save is made by Farmer Billy Hills...he and Thunder whip The Convoy members into each other and clear the ring in short order.  Sounds like a tag match in the making...why not?  Bull Bronson comes out...oh, he and Hills are in our next contest.  Very convenient.

Farmer Billy Hills vs. Bull Bronson:  Another battle of the big men...I hope this doesn't come down to cardiovascular conditioning(no offense).  A mid-ring collision leads to the fight spilling out of the ring...Hills reverses a whip into the guardrail and then introduces Bull to the ringpost.  The farmer appears to have the momentum...wow, a dropkick!  Bronson is said to be undefeated in AAPW but he's in trouble now...whoops, IT'S THE BIG FOOT, down goes the farmer.  Legdrop O' Doom...only gets two?!?  The boot and legdrop ALWAYS work on TV!  Bull grabs a chinlock but Hills comes back with a Rude Awakening, then rallies with a series of elbowsmashes...what will it take to put Bull down?  Hills goes to the second rope...but jumps off into a huge clothesline.  It's Bronson's turn to climb the ropes...Vader Bomb hits and that's the ballgame.

More from the special interview with Shane Rich...he puts a diplomatic spin on his feud with Edmund "Livewire" McGuire(since he was the heel in that situation).  At the end of the day, only one can be "the best".

Mike Masters vs. Heath Hatton for the Heavyweight Title:  Livewire's already set for the next title shot, as we saw on the previous episode.  Heath goes for an immediate rollup and gets a fast two-count...Masters claims a hair pull, ha ha.  (See, he's bald...)  Hatton gets the better of the early action, but Masters hangs onto the ref while in a waistlock and delivers an undetected mulekick.  Masters takes control with eye rakes and choking on the ropes(HEEL~!)...Hatton fires back but gets thrown out of the ring.  Heath introduces the champ to the guardrail a time or three while he's out there...but Masters finally turns it around by backdropping Hatton over the rail.

Heath stays in the fight as the commentators mention Heath's upcoming shot at NWA Champion Adam Pearce...he brings Masters back in the ring but the champ cuts him off.  The fans rally behind Heath and he regains some momentum...Flying Jalapeno gets two.  Third floor...but Masters shoves the ref into the ropes to knock Hatton off balance.  They fight on the turnbuckles and Masters finally gets a superplex...for two!  Heath fights out of a Death Valley Driver and hits his falling DDT finisher...but can't cover right away and only gets 2.9.  Back to the top rope...missile dropkick misses!  Masters locks on the Sharpshooter and pulls him to the middle of the ring...but Hatton powers out of the hold and gets his own Sharpshooter!  Gaylord Stevens(manager of Hatton rival Ax Allwardt) suddenly appears and jumps up on the apron to argue with the ref...and Allwardt enters from the other side to knock out Heath with a chain!  Masters reapplies the Sharpshooter and NOW the official turns around...the arm drops thrice and Masters retains the title.
