Saturday STL-Area Show Results

Saturday DPW results from Wood River, IL:

-"The Incredible Primal Prodigy" Matt Kenway (Look At Him) d. "The Cowboy" Ric Maverick with an Anaconda Vise (5:09).
-The Snitch d. C.J. Shine after pushing the referee into the ropes to knock Shine off balance on the top rope, causing him to crotch himself on the turnbuckles; Snitch got the pinfall with his feet on the ropes (9:01).  Shine got some post-match retribution with a dropkick off the top rope.
-Rocket Mapache d. Orange Lazarus after a Codebreaker and flying boot (6:42).
-Makaze d. "The Alternative" Ozzie Gallagher after a mule kick that went unseen by the referee(paying Gallagher back to the low blows in their two previous matches) (16:43).  Makaze and Gallagher traded words after the match and Gallagher demanded one more match with Makaze's mask on the line...Makaze agreed for the September 17th show, but only if Gallagher's hair was at stake.
-Tag Team Champion Jon Webb fought Brandon Espinosa to a time-limit draw; Webb hit the Sliced Bread #2 but the time limit expired before he could get the pinfall (15:00).  Espinosa said he had a busy night and couldn't wrestle five more minutes, but he had no problem with facing Webb again (especially if it happened in Missouri and he could put his MWR Missouri Title on the line).
-"The Don Mega" Shorty Biggs d. Outtkast to win the D-1 Title; Outtkast got a near-fall after his corkscrew moonsault senton, but missed his second attempt at the move.  Shorty capitalized with a Paydirt and fireman's-carry Michinoku Driver for the win over his Bumrush Brother tag team partner (16:05).  Shorty was happy to give his tag team partner his return match for the title...it sounds like it'll take place at the September 17th show.
-Mike Outlaw d. "Dirdey" Jake Dirden to win the Heavyweight Title for the second time.  Dirden nearly won by countout after throwing Outlaw over some ringside chairs, but he barely beat the ten-count.  The referee was knocked down and Dirden delivered a chokeslam, but there was no one to count the pin attempt.  Dirden brought in a chair, but Outlaw dropkicked it back into his face and delivered the High Noon(top-rope elbowdrop) for a close near-fall.  An errant Dirden boot felled the referee again and Outlaw hit a middle-rope springboard European uppercut, but Dirden took him out with the chair and a second referee ran in to count...two.  Dirden wedged the chair in the corner as the second referee helped the first official back to the dressing room area...but Outlaw reversed an Irish whip into the corner chair, then whacked Dirden twice with the chair.  Outlaw followed up with the Mafia Kick and the second referee returned to count...two.  Outlaw didn't waste time and dropped Dirden with a second Mafia Kick, then hit a second High Noon to finally get the win for the title (21:08)!  Outlaw was ecstatic to regain the championship after a year-plus of Dirden dodging him...but he said he wouldn't be the same kind of champion and offered Dirden a rematch whenever he wanted it.  The two shook hands to end the show.

Saturday SICW results from East Carondelet, IL (I arrived late but got the early results from Doug Byrd & Drew Abbenhaus):

-Bobby D d. "The Enforcer" Jimmy D (5:11).
-Karim Brigante d. "The Freestyle Phenom" Jay Howard(w/ Roy Lewis & J.A. Fair) after a roaring elbow (6:13).
-"Volatile" Curtis Wylde & "Unstable" Dave Vaughn(w/ Wyldefyre) d. "Your Canadian Hero" Sean Vincent & Johnny Blade when Wyldefyre tripped Blade, allowing Vaughn to capitalize with a double-underhook DDT for the win (9:49).
-Waco(w/ Big Daddy) d. Moondog Rover after a distraction by Big Daddy allowed Waco to roll up Moondog with a handful of denim (5:47).
-"The Tokyo Monster" Kahagas(w/ Travis Cook) won a triple threat match with Big Jim Hoffarth and "Night Train/Gorgeous/Great One" Gary Jackson to become the top contender to the Classic Title; Hoffarth avalanched Jackson in the corner while aiming for Kahagas, leading to Kahagas taking advantage with a roundhouse kick to the head of Hoffarth before pinning Jackson (5:55).
-"Ironman" Ken Kasa & "Dead Sexy" Daniel Gunner d. Brandon Espinosa & "The Icon" Chris Hargas by DQ; the referee warned Travis Cook's team against delivering the spike piledriver on Gunner, so Espinosa blatantly decked the ref before they hit the move on Gunner (9:53).  Gunner had to be stretchered out of the ring.
-Miss Monica Passeri d. Paloma Starr after an X-Factor (8:07).  Curtis Wylde & Wyldefyre confronted Monica after the match, saying that Wyldefyre was the dominant woman in the promotion.  That brought out Karim Brigante to support Monica, setting up a mixed tag match for September 17th.
-Ron Powers d. Attila Khan(w/ Travis Cook) in a no-DQ match to retain the Classic Title; Khan was left bloody after Powers abused him with chairs and the ticket table.  Khan attempted to wedge a garbage can in the turnbuckles, but Powers avalanched him from behind and finished him with an RKO (4:34).  Chaos erupted post-match as Cook's proteges(Espinosa, Hargas, & Kahagas) stormed the ring to attack Powers; Ron got backup in the form of Ken Kasa and Gary Jackson as they held off the Travis Cook Organization.  The show ended with a staredown between Powers and Kahagas, who will face each other for the Classic Title on September 17th.

-The Alpha Class("The Millenial" Danny Adams & Paco Gonzalez) won a triple threat match with The Submission Squad(Evan Gelistico & Pierre Abernathy) and 2.0(A.J. Williams & Da'Marius Jones); Adams pinned Jones after a buzzsaw kick to the back of the head by Paco (12:06).

-"Risky Business" Everett Connors d. "The Incredible Primal Prodigy" Matt Kenway (Look At Him) after a hanging piledriver (7:09).
-Moose d. Kevin Lee Davidson after the Gamebreaker(windup short-arm discus lariat) (13:11).
