Midweek wrestling viewing

WWE NXT5.com

Byron Saxton opens the show to complain about his mentor-in-name-only Yoshi Tatsu...he dubs himself "Big League" Byron.  Hey, has a nice ring to it.  Emcee Maryse Ouellet is offended at being considered just another diva...then announces that Byron will have to team with Yoshi tonight.  Oh yeah, and the next elimination is next week...

Yoshi Tatsu & Byron Saxton vs. Tyson Kidd & Lucky Cannon:  Lucky kisses Maryse on the cheek on the way out, something Yoshi doesn't take too well.  Cannon's been more successful than his mentor Kidd lately, when you think about it.  Yoshi starts the match and stays in the ring for a long time as the heels keep him isolated.  Yoshi fights out of a superplex attempt by Lucky and delivers a spinning heel kick off the top rope...both men go to tag and Byron backs away from his corner...shock!.  Yoshi decides to fire up on his own, but Saxton tags himself into the match...he gets into a shoving match with his mentor, causing him to stumble backwards right into a takedown by Kidd into the Sharpshooter!  Byron struggles to escape the hold but finally taps out as Yoshi decides not to bother with a save.  Post-match, Byron piefaces his "partner" and eats a big roundhouse kick in response.

Conor O'Brian(w/ Vladimir Kozlov) vs. J.T.G.:  With J's protege eliminated, he's forced to take out his frustrations on Vlad's student.  Regal is aghast at J.T.G.'s continued presence on the show...then wonders if he's brought out a mean streak in the former Cryme Tyme member that will do him some good.  J.T.G. spends too much time posturing to Kozlov and Regal and gets small-packaged for the upset win...bwahahaha.  J.T.G. attacks O'Brian after the match but Kozlov headbutts him out of the ring.

Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young(w/ Chavo Guerrero Jr.), no-DQ match:  Hornswoggle opts to stay backstage disguised as a piece of luggage.  This show is so much better without the "challenges", I must note.  It's a cat-and-mouse game for a while until a cheapshot by Chavo(no-DQ!) puts Young in command.  They keep referring to the Hornswoggle abuse from last week as "bullying" even though Hornswoggle's usually the instigator in his situations.  Chavo blatantly breaks up a pin after a shoulderbreaker(no-DQ!) and Chavo goes under the ring to get a chain...that brings the midget out to the ring even as O'Neil suffers a double-team assault from the opposition.  Hornswoggle distracts the heels long enough for O'Neil to double-clothesline the pair, then use his mentor as a battering ram.  O'Neil hits the Clash Of The Titus, then Hornswoggle adds the tadpole splash before Titus gets the three-count.

TNA XPlosion

Your hosts are Jeremy Borash and Taz...hey, it's Desmond Wolfe!  He appoints himself the  new Commissioner Of XPlosion...wow, what an honor.  He announces a tournament where the winner can challenge for any title that he chooses...that'll work.  Wolfe joins the commentary team...

Suicide vs. "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero:  Fine competitive matchup between these two...Dinero takes the win with the Elijah Express.  Pope hits on Brother Devon's wife after the match...that brings out Devon to take exception.  Pope backs off as Devon warns him to stay away from his family...
