WWE Raw

-Piper's Pit w/ John Cena: Rowdy Roddy Piper tried to convince Cena to go to the dark side but Cena was having none of it.
-Mike Mizanin d. John Morrison in a falls-count-anywhere match when the referee stopped the match after a Skull-Crushing Finale on the entrance stage.
-Kelly K & Alicia Fox d. The Bella Twins when Alicia pinned...heck if I know...after a somersault legdrop.
-U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler(w/ Vickie Guerrero) d. Randy Orton(n/t); Wade Barrett left the broadcast table and Randy dropkicked him off the apron, but that gave Dolph the opening to hit the Zigzag for the upset win.
-Zack Ryder d. Jack Swagger(w/ Vickie Guerrero) via Rough Ryder.
-C.M. Punk d. Alberto Del Rio(w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) to retain the WWE Title; General Manager Johnny Ace ruled that the title could change hands on a DQ. Ricardo had the referee distracted after Alberto removed a turnbuckle pad, but Punk turned the tables by dropping Del Rio face-first on the exposed turnbuckle to get the win.

NWA Anarchy TV #304

NWA World Champion Adam Pearce is coming to NWA Anarchy...

Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.

Seth Delay vs. Drew Haskins: Johnson's opinion of Delay has distinctly soured since Seth got involved in some of The Ambassadors' business recently. Delay picks up the victory by leapfrogging straight into a sunset flip pin.

Post-match, Delay calls out T.V. Champion Steven Walters about his Fright Night title defense against Adrian Hawkins. Seth feels like he should be in the match as well and acknowledges that he's getting some of his own medicine via Hawkins' use of the brass knuckles. Walters is skeptical of Seth's motives, but he doesn't have a problem with giving him another opportunity...the fans seem to approve as well.

Jacob Ashworth vs. Bobby Moore: Moore was once a Regular Guy and then a Technician, now he's flying solo. Moore targets the arm, taking the fight to the floor and wrapping the arm around the guardrail and ringpost. Ashworth makes the one-armed comeback but is cut off by a huge fist to the face...Bobby nearly gets the pin after that, but then locks on a cross-armbreaker in the middle of the ring! Ashworth is able to maneuver into a modified rollup for a two-count, escaping the predicament. Jacob tries for a dragon sleeper of sorts but Moore thumbs him in the eye on the rope break, then throws him shoulder-first into the ringpost before landing a flying boot for the upset victory!

Tommy Daniels & C.B. Gibson vs. The Hate Junkies(Stryknyn & Dany Only, w/ Dan Wilson): Daniels escapes the setup for the Hate Crime(assisted superbomb), but Stryknyn spears Daniels into next week as Only levels Gibson with the dreaded Zombie Lariat. The pinfall for Stryknyn is academic after that.

Tag Team Champion Bryan Cassanova vs. Jacoby Boykins(w/ John Johnson): Cassanova wastes no time in hitting the ring and going on the attack...Johnson barely gets out of dodge and retreats to the safety of the broadcast table. Boykins dominates but Cassanova fights out of a powerbomb attempt...he can't quite pick up Boykins for his finishing TKO but Chris Mayne runs in for the DQ anyway. The Ambassadors lay out Cassanova with a Samoan Drop/flying knee combo, then hold him up for Johnson to slap. It looks like more abuse is forthcoming but Walters & Delay hit the ring to run off the heels.

Heavyweight Champion Azrael(w/ Dan Wilson) vs. Shadow Jackson, non-title: The winner of this match gets the advantage for his team in Wargames...the other Wargames participants(Nemesis, Kimo, Hate Junkies) are all barred from ringside. The match tempo picks up in a hurry...Jackson uses his power advantage but Azrael takes him down with a flying knee off the second rope. Shadow fires up, but Azrael kicks out Shadow's previously-injured leg and goes to work on the limb. The fight spills out of the ring and Shadow ducks a chop attempt, causing Azrael to chop the ringpost. Jackson wastes no time in attacking the arm and hand, but Azrael turns the tide back in his favor. Shadow desperately rakes the eyes and rams Azrael's head into the ring apron...Azrael keeps up the pressure, but Jackson hits the 1031 Spinebuster out of nowhere! The Reverend is quick to jump up on the apron and distract the referee...Shadow goes after him, but the distraction is enough of an opening for Azrael to whack Shadow in the leg with The Rev's Staff Of Righteousness! Azrael locks on a leg grapevine...Jackson attempts to reach the ropes but can't quite make it and shockingly taps out! That gives the Wargames advantage to Azrael and the Hate Junkies...

ROH + SICW

ROH TV

-Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. The Briscoe Brothers ended in a no-contest; The Briscoes had been excessively double-teaming Alexander and abusing the referee, leading to Tag Team Champions Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas running them off with chairs.
-Michael Elgin(w/ Truth Martini) d. Sean Casey & Raphael Constantine in a handicap match, pinning Constantine after Alabama-Slamming both men at once.
-Jay Lethal fought El Generico to a fifteen-minute time-limit draw to retain the T.V. Title; Mike Bennett and Brutal Bob Evans watched from ringside with Bennett even trying on the belt at one point. Lethal decked Bennett, who responded by distracting the referee when Lethal appeared to have the victory after the Lethal Combination and Macho Elbow. As a result, the time limit expired with no winner...Lethal and Bennett fought outside the ring but Generico took out both men with a somersault plancha.

SICW Wrestling Explosion

-The main focus of the show was an interview with Ricky Cruz; back when Ron Powers wrestled in Puerto Rico, Powers ended the career of Cruz's brother and Ricky is out for revenge. Powers came out and said that he was a different guy back then and had no issue with Ricky. It seemed like the two would make amends, but Powers attacked Cruz from behind and rammed him into the ringpost. Cruz was left a bloody mess after Powers abused him with the timekeeper's table and whipped him with his belt before hanging him over the top rope with it.
-Flashback to April 1981: Kerry Von Erich d. Mike Blood with the stomach claw.

Comedy Part 409: Thankful For Guest Set

Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Bruce Veach
Feature: Mark Morfey
Headliner: Mark Sweeney

Went to Comedy Etc. for both the Friday and Saturday night shows...didn't ask about a guest set on Friday, but there was a good crowd at the late show on Saturday so I got some stage time. My set was hit-and-miss...some of the new material worked and other jokes didn't go over so well. Both shows had really good crowds, at any rate...haven't been on stage much lately since I've had my mind on other things. I have a job interview next Friday...who knows what my personal schedule will be like in the next few months.

WWE Smackdown

Your hosts are Josh Mathews, Booker T, & Michael Cole.

World Champion Mark Henry starts the show, walking to the ring with the aid of a crutch(The Big Show destoryed his leg with a chair after the Survivor Series match). Henry wonders what kind of sick individual deliberately injures an opponent...heh. He insinuates that he kicked Show in the KNEE and not the groin at the end of that match...Show simply pretended otherwise to escape a beating. Henry says he wanted to compete tonight but General Manager Theodore Long did not medically clear him to do so...that brings out Show. Show says that he just did to Henry what Henry did to him...Henry says it won't happen again and calls him the world's largest loser. Henry won't stop the trash-talking, so Show PUNCHes him out. BUT WAIT~! Daniel Bryan runs out with a referee and the Money-In-The-Bank briefcase to cash in!

Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan for the World Title: It takes the entire MITB ring announcement for Bryan to just roll Henry over onto his back and cover him for the three-count...we have a new World Champion! Cole whines and complains as usual...and Bryan climbs on the broadcast table to shove it in his face. However, Long comes out...Henry was not medically cleared to compete so the title change is overruled. Aww...Bryan reluctantly hands the belt back to Long who returns it to Henry. Long returns the briefcase to Bryan...since the match was overturned, the contract is still valid. In consolation, Long books Bryan in tonight's four-corner main event...the winner gets a World Title shot at Henry on next week's Smackdown(live on Tuesday).

Justin Gabriel vs. Hunico: We're told next week's World Title match will be a cage match, AND the winner will face Show at Tables Ladders & Chairs. Cole won't shut up about Bryan, saying he's proven himself to be a hypocrite and blew his shot tonight. Lots of flippies in this one...ever focused, Cole moves from mocking Bryan to mocking Booker. Hunico fights out of a superplex attempt with a well-placed eyerake and nails the Falling Star swanton bomb for the victory.

Kaitlyn Bonin & A.J. Lee vs. Women's Champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya Neidhart: Alicia Fox joins the broadcast team for this rematch from last week...Kaitlyn seemed frustrated after last week's loss. The match is surprisingly quick as A.J. gets a flurry of offense against Natalya only to be cut off and locked in the Sharpshooter for the tapout. Kaitlyn just watches her partner takes abuse and walks away as Beth & Nattie demand tears. Alicia has to enter the ring to defend A.J., causing Beth & Nattie to back off.

Replay of a vignette that first aired on Monday featuring fire...and a familiar-looking red mask. :-D

Back to Long's office...Mick Foley will be the special guest host on next Tuesday's special. Aksana Raudoniene pays another visit, but Henry quickly barges in to complain about defending his title while injured. Long wants a big main event for next week, see...Henry vows that bad things will happen to Long as a result.

Sheamus O'Shaunessy & Zack Ryder vs. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger(w/ Vickie Guerrero): The heels gloat about Dolph's "double victory" at Survivor Series(okay, technically his team did win even though Dolph was eliminated early in the matchup). The superior teamwork of Ziggler and Swagger comes into play as Sheamus takes a beating, then Ryder ends up on the wrong side of the ring. Sheamus has to break up Ziggler's pin cover after the wheelbarrow/Fameasser double-team. Zack finally returns fire by planting Swagger with a tornado DDT...hot tag to Sheamus. Swagger breaks up a Celtic Edge and Ryder tags himself into the match, leading to Swagger eating a Brogue Kick. Sheamus blocks a Zigzag attempt, then Ryder enters in grand fashion by hitting the Rough Ryder to pin the U.S. Champion again!

Backstage, Daniel Bryan and A.J. Lee have a heart-to-heart...though Wade Barrett rains on their parade.

Ted DiBiase Jr. vs. Heath Slater: Before the match, Jinder Mahal insults DiBiase from the TitanTron, saying he turned his back on his wealth and family to associate with "commoners". Slater takes the opportunity to attack from behind, posting DiBiase's shoulder and delivering a single-arm DDT or two. Ted Jr. makes the comeback to win with Dream Street and only Josh seems to notice as Cole and Booker are too busy sniping at each other...yay wrestling.

Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barrett, non-title: Winner challenges Mark Henry for the World Title in a cage match on next Tuesday's Smackdown special. Matt Striker does a brief backstage interview with Rhodes before the match regarding Rhodes throwing water in Booker's face on Monday's Raw. Orton and Wade pair off immediately, leaving Bryan to tangle with Rhodes. The faces clear the ring, leading to a big tease of Orton-Bryan...but they cut to commercial before it can go anywhere. Cody and Wade work as a team for the middle portion of the matchup, though Booker notes that only one of them can win. Bryan tries to set up a superplex on Rhodes, but Wade catches Bryan on his shoulders and Cody completes the Doomsday Device! Wade covers...but Cody breaks it up.

Barrett takes control and BOOTs Orton to the floor, then catches Bryan in the Bossman Slam only for Rhodes to break up another pin attempt. Rhodes dumps Wade out and nails the Beautiful Disaster kick on Bryan...for two. Bryan backdrops Cody out of the ring, then escapes an attack by Wade to level Cody with a suicide dive! Orton gets back in the ring to really against Wade, hitting the 3.0 backbreaker...but BRYAN breaks up a pin attempt and nails Orton with a huge buzzsaw kick. Cody Stunguns Bryan and tries to steal the pin on Randy...only getting two. Booker almost HOPES that Cody wins the match so he'll be stuck in a cage with an angry Mark Henry next week. Rhodes goes to the top but gets caught in the trademark Orton superplex, leaving both men down. However, Wade kicks Orton out of the ring and tries to steal the pin on Cody...but Bryan breaks it up with a swandive headbutt! Randy re-enters and has his pick of victims, tossing Barrett and Rhodes to the floor before planting Bryan with the hanging DDT. RKO? No, Wade pulls Randy out of the ring and DDTs him on the floor! Cody gets back in the ring and covers Bryan...for two! Out of nowhere, Bryan turns that around into the LeBell Lock and Cody taps out!

Cody snaps and attacks Bryan from behind after the match, only to eat an RKO from Orton. Orton gives Bryan a nod before exiting the ring...

Next week: Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan in a cage match for the World Title.

XPlosion, Superstars, Impact

TNA XPlosion

-Your hosts are Jeremy Borash & Taz.
-Eric Young vs. Christopher Daniels(n/t): We're starting the Maximum Impact Tournament...hope this has farther-reaching implications than the last contenders' tournament they did on this program. Apparently the winner gets a Heavyweight Title shot on the next European tour. Usual Young comedy spots in the early going...finally Daniels gets sick of it and takes over. Daniels maintains control, but takes too long going to the top rope and Young slams him to the mat. However, he jumps off the second rope and gets caught in a uranagi...but Young avoids the Best Moonsault Ever as Daniels lands on his feet. Piledriver? No, Daniels hangs onto the ref to block it, then double-legs Young in the corner and gets the Flair-style pin with feet on the ropes.
-For the record, our remaining first-round matches are Matt Morgan vs. Douglas Williams, Brother Devon vs. Samoa Joe, and Frankie Kazarian vs. Brutus Magnus(so do these XPlosion-earned title shots stack or does one just replace the previous one?).

WWE Superstars.com

Your hosts are Josh Mathews, Scott Stanford, & Matt Striker.

Ted DiBiase Jr. vs. Drew McIntyre: The latest grassroots campaign is the "DiBiase Posse" as Ted Jr. has been tailgating with fans before the shows. Stanford notes something these two have in common: Both have been Tag Champs with Cody Rhodes. He also notes that DiBiase has been growing out the facial hair for Mo-Vember...I am used to associating facial hair with a member of the DiBiase family. Ted goes uncharacteristically airborne with a nice suicide dive, but ringside is Drew's territory and he wheelbarrow-drops DiBiase face-first on the ring apron. I miss Drew's push. He controls the action(including a nice BOOT as Ted's coming off the ropes) but jumps off the second turnbuckle right into a dropkick. Ted Jr. rallies with a flying knee and misdirection clothesline, but has his own ill-fated leap from the second rope as he's met by a fist to the face! Cover...gets two. Counter-sequence ends in an atomic facebuster by McIntyre...for two. McIntyre hits several clotheslines in the corner, but goes for one too many and Ted ducks, maneuvering into Dream Street for the victory.

Alex Riley vs. Michael McGillicutty: This is a rematch from last week when Riley got the win...A-Ri still has his leg bandaged from a recent injury. McGillicutty takes control after Riley hits the ringpost shoulder-first, allowing MM to deliver a textbook dropkick. Riley returns fire with an STO and spinebuster, then the elevated DDT...for two. MM sends Riley to the floor with a yank of the tights, but Riley re-enters with a sunset flip...only for McGillicutty to kneel down on the move for his own pinning combination and the surprise three-count!

Trent Barreta vs. Jinder Mahal: Mahal enlightens us in Punjabi before the matchup. We'll get a consistent spelling for Trent's last name eventually. Trent goes high-risk too early and Mahal shoves him off the top rope, causing him to crash-land against the ringside barricade. Jinder targets the ribs after that...PSYCHOLOGY~! Barreta elbows out of a back-superplex attempt, delivering a Whisper In The Wind for a near-fall. Mahal takes another shot to the ribs, then blocks the Dudebuster DDT and...gets the submission win with the camel clutch? He made him humble~!

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Tyson Kidd: Somehow don't see this outcome being too suspenseful no matter how much the commentators talk up Kidd. Kidd escapes a press-slam attempt to clip the knee...but Zeke is JUST TOO STRONG. Kidd is able to target the knee and deliver an inside-out slingshot legdrop, then a springboard elbowdrop...for two. Zeke powers back but Kidd gets a tornado DDT(!)...for 2 1/2. Zeke finally gets a sustainted offensive, delivering a back suplex before locking on the torture rack...that'll be a tapout.

TNA Impact

-Your hosts are Mike Tenay & Taz.
-Matt Morgan & Tommy "Crimson" Mercer d. Mexican America(w/ Sarita Stock & Rosita Fly) to retain the Tag Team Titles when Crimson pinned Anarquia after a double chokeslam by the champs. This was basically a squash as they destroyed Anarquia and Shawn Hernandez never really got into the action.
-Velvet Sky, Tara Varon, & Brooke Tessmacher d. Winter Lea, Angelina Love, & Women's Tag Team Champion Madison Rayne; Rayne hit the Raynedrop(Zack Attack) on Velvet but the referee was outside the ring and unavailable to count. Madison got her title belt to use as a weapon, but Mickie James ran out and snapped her throat off the top rope(retaliation for a backstage attack by Madison and Women's Singles & Tag Champ Gail Kim). That allowed Velvet to hit her sitout Pedigree finisher for the win. The plot point was that Karen Angle-Jarrett set up this match and the women were offended because some of them left that other place to get away from this sort of exploitation...
-Eric Young(w/ Rudy Charles) d. T.V. Champion Robbie Eckos(w/ Rob Terry) via piledriver in a non-title loser-wears-a-turkey-suit match. Since Eckos was incapacitated by the piledriver, Terry was forced to don the costume.
-A.J. Styles, Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam, & Ken Anderson(w/ James Storm) d. Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode, Jeff Jarrett, Christopher Daniels, & Bully Ray(w/ Kurt Angle & Karen Angle-Jarrett) in an elimination tag match; Hardy didn't come out with his team due to injuries sustained in an altercation with Jarrett earlier in the show. Roode joined the commentary team for the first part of the match...Ray hit a uranagi on Anderson, so Roode ran down to tag himself into the match and steal the pin. Ha ha. That brought A.J. into the match with a flurry of offense, but Roode delivered a blatant low blow to get DQed and escape the situation. RVD got a hot tag and cleaned house, but Angle broke up a five-star frog splash behind the referee's back allowing Daniels to get a cheap rollup with a handful of tights. That seemingly left Styles alone against three opponents, but Hardy limped out to the ring to take part in the match and got the tag! Jeff pinned Daniels after a Twist Of Fate and then defeated Jarrett via small package. Jarrett attempted to hang around to double-team Hardy, but Styles made a blind tag as Hardy took out Double J...A.J. nailed a springboard forearm on Ray to notch the final three-count. The sole survivors were Styles and Hardy, but Roode BELTed both winners after the match.

WWE NXT5.com

-Your hosts are Matt Striker & S. William Regal.
-Darren Young kicks off the show. Regal refers to Young's finisher as the Gut Check, that'll work. Young is quickly joined by Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins...then Titus O'Neil & Percy Watson. About time someone asked what "the 'it' factor" is supposed to be. Titus decks Young and the heels decide to shift into retreat mode, so Striker announces O'Neil/Watson vs. Reks/Young for the main event.
-That new "Great White" T-shirt for Sheamus O'Shaunessy might not go over well in certain circles...
-Yoshi Tatsu vs. Johnny Curtis: Derrick Bateman & Maxine Perez join the broadcast team, so Striker and Regal grill them about relationship matters. Bateman and Maxine get into an argument and she walks away from ringside...something that does not escape Curtis' attention. The brief distraction allows Yoshi to mount a comeback, notching the victory with the spinning heel kick off the top rope. Bateman jumps in the ring after the match to "check on Curtis" before leaving the ring area...
-Owen Hart was one of my favorite wrestlers and it sucks that his main legacies seem to be a) how he died and b) injuring Steve Austin's neck...just saying.
-Backstage: Bateman and Maxine are arguing AGAIN...Curtis bugs Bateman afterwards.
-Jimmy Uso(w/ Jey Uso) vs. J.T.G.: The Usos enlighten us...they acknowledge past great Samoan wrestlers as their predecessors including Yokozuna(hmm, they usually don't acknowledge him as Samoan) and even Umaga(who's gone unmentioned on WWE TV since his death). The Usos have taken exception to Tamina's relationship with J.T.G. in recent weeks. J. escapes a Samoan Drop attempt but eats a close-range superkick...Jimmy follows up with the splash off the top for the win.
-Titus O'Neil & Percy Watson vs. Tyler Reks & Darren Young(w/ Curt Hawkins): Percy and Young start...once Percy tags Titus, Young rushes to tag out to Reks. The commentators talk about Bateman signing a short-term contract to compete on Smackdown...wonder what this does to the whole NXT dynamic? Yeah, I'm the only one who cares...though this could leave the door open for totally new arrivals to debut on this program. Regal jokes about how he's got abs in the new WWE '12 video game...heh. The momentum shifts a few times over the course of the matchup...but Reks and Young finally isolate Watson for a few minutes. Titus gets a hot tag and cleans house, overpowering D.Young...but Reks breaks up his pin attempt, bringing Percy back into the fray. Hawkins tries to insert himself into the matchup and Titus stops him, but the distraction is enough for Young to nail him from behind. One Gut Check later, D.Young gets the three-count on O'Neil to win the main event!

FCW TV

Your hosts are Matt Martlaro and Dusty Rhodes, your ring announcer is Eden Stiles.

Tag Team Champions Donny Marlow & C.J. Parker vs. Brad Maddox & Briley Pierce, non-title: Maddox gets the better of the opening exchange with Parker, then Briley enthusiastically tags himself in. They try a basic double-team as Pierce holds Parker for a double-axhandle off the top from Maddox...but C.J. pulls Pierce in the way of the shot. Ha ha. The heels finally get it together and isolate Marlow, focusing on the leg...but Briley misses a kneedrop and C.J. gets the hot tag! Parker seems more interested in bad-mouthing Maddox than focusing on Pierce, but he delivers a flying double-knee in the corner followed by a Regal Roll. Parker finishes at his leisure with a falling DDT and the champs emerge victorious. Maddox doesn't bother to make a save and seems...displeased. He helps his partner to his feet, then walks away as he flops back down to the mat. Heh.

Roman Leakee vs. Corey Graves(w/ Leah West): Interesting new pairing of Graves and West...we'll see if it's enough to put a dent in Leakee's momentum. Leah distracts the ref long enough for Graves to administer a major-league eye rake...in the meantime, Dusty has Martlaro positively befuddled up at the broadcast position. Leakee comes back with a unique version of the bulldog, then follows up with the Flying Jalapeno and Samoan Drop to get the duke.

Briley Pierce still works here and pulls double duty, interviewing Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger. He says he'll take on all comers...and that brings out Abraham Washington to accept that proposition. Kruger says he's the only true African in FCW...um, okay.

General Manager Maxine Perez confers with Norman Smiley backstage...S. William Regal wants to be in the six-man tag tonight, but Maxine doesn't think that's a good idea "at his age". Hmm. Queen Aksana Raudoniene enters to protest Richie Steamboat's involvement in tonight's falls-count-anywhere main event, saying it's too dangerous and he should be getting title matches. Maxine says Richie could very well earn a title shot if he wins tonight...the two ladies hug and take turns looking DEVIOUS~! for the camera.

Kevin Hackman vs. Big E Langston: Hackman(aka Andy Leavine) won Tough Enough but he's got a tough test ahead of him tonight. Hackman gets some early offense but whiffs badly on a dropkick and Langston begins his domination. Hackman comes back with IT'S THE BIG FOOT and a sideslam but launches a Macho Elbow that hits nothing but canvas. Langston finishes in short order with the Big Ending. James Bronson suddenly appears at ringside and has a staredown with Langston...then enters the ring to attack Hackman! Bronson locks on the Death Wish 2(reverse armbreaker) and the referee brigade hits the ring to restrain him. Bronson knocks aside at least a couple of referees...that doesn't seem like a wise career move.

Seth Rollins, Johnny Curtis, & Derrick Bateman vs. FCW 15 Champion Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose, & Antonio Cesaro: Quite a lineup of talent in this matchup. Regal wanted the third slot on the face team(presumably so he could get his hands on Ambrose again), but Maxine decided otherwise and put her boyfriend/fiancee in the spot. Rollins has major history with all three opponents. Curtis and Cesaro start...YAY WRESTLING~! Seth tags in, Cesaro tags out to Ambrose. Dean's shoulder is bandaged from his close encounter with Regal and the faces target the injury. Curtis gets caught in the wrong corner as Sandow enters the fray...Cesaro takes his eye off the ball to BOOT Rollins off the apron, but runs into a spinning heel kick from Curtis. Tag to Ambrose, tag to Bateman! Derrick cleans house and backdrops Dean out of the ring, then hiptosses Cesaro from the apron into the ring...where he eats a springboard clothesline from Rollins! Bateman clotheslines Antonio to the floor and Seth nails him with a suicide dive...then Curtis follows with a somersault dive off the top onto the heels! However, Bateman forgets who's legal and Ambrose nails him with a lariat, then measures him...for the knee trembler! Ambrose isn't done as he locks Bateman in the Regal Stretch, forcing Derrick to tap out! Looks like the Regal-Ambrose issue is far from over...

Husky Harris vs. Richie Steamboat, falls-count-anywhere match: The ring hasn't been able to contain this feud, so let's settle it like this. The nature of the gimmick match would seem to favor Husky but we'll see how it goes. The two are fairly tentative to start but hostilities boil over in a hurry...the referee isn't there to do much more than count a pin or acknowledge a submission/tapout. Husky tosses Steamboat to the floor but it's Richie that takes advantage, wrapping Husky's head up in the ring apron. Harris responds by introducing him to the steps and ringpost before getting a two-count on the floor. The fight travels beyond the guardrail to the interview area...Husky has control but Steamboat stops him with a low blow, covering for his own two-count. Richie throws Husky through the door and they take it outside...Steamboat reverses a whip into the wall and trash-talks him a bit, then goes for a trash can...but Husky throws dirt and gravel from the parking lot in Richie's face! Husky commandeers the trash can and bashes Steamboat across the back twice...that's enough for Husky to cover for the three-count!

After the match, a pickup truck pulls up to the combatants...Husky pulls down the tailgate and throws Steamboat in the back of the truck. Husky closes the tailgate and gets in the passenger side before the truck drives away...BUT WHO'S DRIVING?!?~!

So long from the Sunshine State!

-Wade Barrett d. Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston with the Wasteland; Randy Orton came out to observe the match.

WWE Survivor Series

-Dolph Ziggler(w/ Vickie Guerrero) d. John Morrison via Zigzag to retain the U.S. Title; Ziggler called out Zack Ryder after the match and the two fought, leading to Zack hitting the Rough Ryder.
-Beth Phoenix d. Eve Torres after a top-rope Glam Slam(!) to retain the Women's Title.
-Wade Barrett, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, & Hunico d. Randy Orton, Sheamus O'Shaunessy, Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara, & Mason Ryan in an elimination tag match. Orton quickly eliminated Ziggler with the RKO. Cara was eliminated due to injury when he got caught up on the ropes in executing a dive out of the ring. Rhodes pinned Ryan after a blind tag and the Crossrhodes, then Barrett pinned Kingston after the Wasteland. Sheamus cleans house but gets disqualified for beating down Swagger in the corner...he leaves, but not before leveling Swagger with the Brogue Kick. Orton simply has to enter the ring and cover Swagger for the pin, but it's three-on-one after that. Orton eliminates Hunico by catching him in mid-springboard move with an RKO, but the numbers finally catch up to him and Wade pins Orton after the Wasteland. Sole survivors: Barrett & Rhodes.
-The Big Show d. World Champion Mark Henry by DQ after a blatant low blow by Henry; Henry retained the title. Show delivered a Macho Elbow at one point!
-C.M. Punk(w/ personal ring announcer Howard Finkel) d. Alberto Del Rio(w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) with the Anaconda Vice to win the WWE Title.
-The Rock & John Cena d. Awesome Truth when Rock pinned Miz after the spinebuster and People's Elbow. Cena got a Rock Bottom after the match.

NWA Anarchy TV #303

NWA World Champion Adam Pearce is coming to Anarchy on December 17th...

Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.

Armed & Dangerous(Lane Vasser & Johnny Dangerous) vs. Gil Quest & J.C. Walker: Tim comments that Quest was trained by Homicide and Matt Striker. Quest & Walker do their best to keep Courageous in the ring and, more importantly, keep Vasser OUT of the ring. An enzuigiri on Walker gives Dangerous an opening to tag, but Quest distracts Lane and it doesn't happen. Dangerous gets off a huge missile dropkick on Quest...and Vasser FINALLY gets the tag! Cue the house afire, culminating in a fireman's-carry spinebuster on Walker for the victory.

Young Lions' Champion Bo Newsom(w/ Shaun Tempers) vs. Skirra Corvus, non-title: Given his status as a former titleholder and his recent run of success, it's not clear why Corvus doesn't rate a title shot. Nice sequence of counters ends in a tigerdriver by Newsom...for two. Tempers sticks his nose into the matchup, as you might expect. Corvus rallies but is cut off by a spinebuster...for two. Bo hangs Corvus from the Tree Of Woe and climbs the turnbuckles, but Corvus pulls himself up and delivers an overhead suplex! Corvus pulls himself back up onto the ropes...but misses the Steamboat Press and Bo capitalizes with the SMALL PACKAGE~! for the three-count.

The NWA North American Champion enlightens us after his partner's matchup...he plugs the battle royal at Fright Night where the winner earns a shot at his belt. Tempers brings up Anthony Henry(who recently pinned Newsom in a tag match) and that brings out Henry to hear it in person. Tempers says that Henry couldn't last five minutes with him...sounds like an impromptu match!

NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers(w/ Bo Newsom) vs. Anthony Henry, non-title five-minute challenge: Tempers decides to stall, which doesn't seem to benefit his cause since he only has five minutes to win. As for Henry, he only has to last the five minutes to earn a future title shot at Newsom. Tempers wrestles in his street clothes and outwrestles Henry once they do lock up...but Henry shows that he can hold his own on the mat. Tempers takes his time even as the clock ticks down, but finally shows more fire with a minute to go. Henry rallies but Tempers blocks the brainbuster...however, Henry kicks off the turnbuckles to escape the Rude Awakening and flips over to take Tempers down in the Texas Cloverleaf! The time limit expires and Henry is the winner, so Newsom wastes no time in delivering the post-match attack...the heels are sure they've left Henry laying, but Henry is able to get up and take out both men with a suicide dive!

Mike Posey enlightens us...he's been to WrestleMania, gosh darn it!

T.V. Champion Steven Walters vs. Chris Mayne, non-title: Johnson complains about his protege not getting a championship match, then does his best to explain why one-half of the Ambassadors is tuning up for the Tag Team Title shot at Fright Night with a singles match. The point becomes moot as Jacoby Boykins runs in for the DQ when things turn sour for Mayne...the save is made by, of all people, Seth Delay. However, he gets double-teamed by the Ambassadors until Tag Team Champion Bryan Cassanova hits the ring and the heels bail.

Brodie Ray Chase vs. Se7en(w/ Jeff G. Bailey): Chase once trained Mikael Judas and stood up for him after he was the victim of a fireball attack by Bailey. The Stray Cat can't seem to faze The Deadly Sin in the early going...but he goes a bit dirty with some shots to the throat and a double eyepoke. That works for a moment, but Se7en overpowers him with a sideslam. He uncharacteristically goes to the top rope but misses the clothesline(Johnson wonders if he's trying to emulate Judas)...Chase attempts to capitalize but Se7en easily powers out of a double-underhook DDT attempt. Brodie fights out of a chokeslam attempt but this seems to be a foregone conclusion...Se7en even pulls him up from a pin attempt after a couple of elbowdrops. Chase keeps fighting but finally gets caught with the chokeslam...and Se7en crosses the arms over the chest a la Judas to get the pin.

Sheamus capped off the show with the Celtic Edge on Rhodes.

Comedy Part 408: Best Of Comedy Etc.

Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Brian Kinsella
After: Brian Kinsella
Before: Robert Friday

Good lineup and good turnout for this Thursday night show...the rest of the show featured Dan Schmidt, Zachary Johnson, and Bruce Veach. I planned out my set fairly well...I forgot a few jokes I wanted to do, but I added a few others and it timed out just about right(ten minutes). Still want to see exactly how much time I'm capable of doing on stage...though a lot of that depends on how often I'll be able to attend shows in the near future. Hopefully some things will pan out in my favor...

Catching up on wrestling viewing...

WWE NXT5.com

-It's "Showtime With Percy Watson"(Titus O'Neil stands nearby)! Our opening-segment interruption is provided by Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins...their assertion that Reks "headlined pay-per-views" is a slight stretch. Derrick Bateman joins us as well...he says that Johnny Curtis' relationship with Maxine Perez went about as far as Curtis' Smackdown career. Ouch. Anywho, emcee Matt Striker decides to set up our card for tonight: O'Neil vs. Reks and Watson vs. Bateman.
-Oh, your hosts are Josh Mathews & S. William Regal.
-Percy Watson vs. Derrick Bateman: Titus joins the broadcast team for the matchup...fine matchup is capped off by the OH YEAH~! Showtime Splash, facebuster, and Percy-cution(fireman's-carry Flapjack) for the decisive victory. Maxine is conspicuous by her absence...
-Johnny Curtis chats with Maxine backstage...hmm. Apparently Maxine wasn't aware that her fiancee got stuck in an impromptu match...
-Yoshi Tatsu vs. J.T.G.(w/ Tamina Snuka): Josh hasn't been on NXT lately so he's trying to catch up on the storylines...meanwhile, Tamina distracts Yoshi long enough for J.T.G. to duck the big roundhouse kick. J takes the opportunity to throw Yoshi shoulder-first into the ringpost and get the cheap rollup pin with a handful of tights.
-Backstage: J.T.G. & Tamina cross paths with Jimmy & Jey Uso but blow them off...then they cross paths with Bateman, Curtis, and Maxine. Bateman even readies himself for a slap but she storms off instead. Curtis says to call him if he needs help with women...Derrick doesn't have his number, but Maxine does.
-Titus O'Neil(w/ Percy Watson) vs. Tyler Reks(w/ Curt Hawkins): Curt gets involved and Percy nails him, leading to the referee ejecting both cornermen. Reks cuts off a late rally by O'Neil, but jumps off the second rope right into the Clash Of The Titus and that's the ballgame. However, the celebration is short-lived as the returning Darren Young attacks him from behind and lays him out with the Strongbuster. Looks like we're back to three active rookies on this show...

TNA XPlosion

-Your hosts are Jeremy Borash & Taz.
-Frankie Kazarian vs. Phil Gunner: Technically Fortune is down to three people(with Christopher Daniels and Bobby Roode both going heel) so they may want to either change that "Fortune Four" theme or start recruiting. It's Fortune vs. Immortal and it feels so empty somehow. Solid matchup, at any rate...Kazarian elbows out of an F-5 attempt and hits the Wave Of The Future for a two-count. Gunner rolls out to regroup but eats a baseball slide...Kaz attempts a re-entry sunset flip but Gunner kneels down to block it and holds the ropes for the tainted victory.

WWE Superstars.com

-Your hosts are Josh Mathews, Scott Stanford, & Matt Striker. Did we lose Jack Korpela?
-Alex Riley vs. Drew McIntyre: Riley hits a modified DDT out of the corner mount and Drew rolls out to regroup, then sweeps Riley's leg as he steps through the ropes...A-Ri lands badly on the ring apron. Stanford notes the bandage on Riley's leg and McIntyre takes the cue to block a boot out of the corner, delivering a leg Stunner. Drew does more damage to the leg with the ringpost figure-four, but Riley kicks away from a spinning toehold sending Drew shoulder-first into the ringpost. El Big Comeback ensues but he can't hold him up for the TKO...IT'S THE BIG FOOT by McIntyre gets two. McIntyre backs him into the corner but Riley fights back, avoiding a Stinger Splash and picking McIntyre up from that perch to hit the TKO on the second try! That's enough for the three-count and Stanford calls the move the "Final Score"...must update finisher list. :)
-Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. Primo & Epico Colon: We have a team of twin brothers against a team of cousins in this one...the Usos were on the wrong end of a beatdown by these two as well as Hunico on Smackdown recently. Jimmy gets dropkicked off the apron by Primo, putting him in the wrong part of town(barrio?). Nice double-team as Primo actually suplexes Epico into the ring onto Jimmy Uso. Jimmy surprises Primo with a Samoan Drop off the ropes...and tags are made on both sides! Jey cleans house with gusto and Primo has to break up the pin attempt after the Umaga Smash. Jimmy nails Primo and the refeee has to get Jimmy out of there, but that gives Primo the opportunity to hit the lungblower on Jey. Jimmy dives off the apron onto Primo, but the damage has been done and Epico finishes off Jey with the backcracker.
-Trent Baretta vs. Tyson Kidd: Striker thinks about joining Twitter...scary thought. Good match, though a bit shorter than the previous two on the show. Baretta nearlys wins via Whisper In The Wind but Kidd escapes the pin attempt and blocks a Dudebuster DDT attempt. Trent hits a jumping enzuigiri and Gobstopper Knee...for two. Kidd dumps Baretta face-first onto the top turnbuckle and nails the brainbuster for the victory.

-Robbie Eckos(w/ Rob Terry) d. Brother Devon(w/ "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero) to retain the T.V. Title. Terry attacked Pope outside the ring, leading to Devon's sons jumping the guardrail to check on him. Eric Young chased off Terry with a chair, but the distraction was enough for Robbie to get the cheap rollup pin with a handful of denim.
-Brian Kendrick & Jesse Sorensen d. X-Division Champion Austin Aries & Kid Kash; Aries made Kash do most of the work and then walked out late in the match. Sorensen went on to pin Kash after the inverted swinging neckbreaker.
-Women's Gauntlet Match: Velvet Sky d. Rosita Fly after the double-underhook X-Factor. Velvet pinned Brooke Tessmacher after a bulldog. Angelina Love d. Velvet via rollup w/ tights. Mickie James d. Angelina with the crescent kick. Mickie d. Sarita Stock after the jumping DDT. Mickie d. Tara Varon via jumping DDT. Mickie d. Winter Lea after the crescent kick. Mickie d. O.D.B. with a Thesz press off the top rope but O.D.B. gave her a TKO after the match. Mickie d. Women's Tag Team Champion Madison Rayne via victory roll from the mat when Madison took too much time to capitalize after O.D.B.'s attack.
-Matt Morgan & Tommy "Crimson" Mercer d. Mexican America(w/ Sarita Stock & Rosita Fly) to win the Tag Team Titles when Morgan pinned Anarquia after the Carbon Footprint.
-Garrett Bischoff(w/ Sting) d. Phil Gunner(w/ Ric Flair & Eric Bischoff) after a DDT.

Comedy Part 407: Best-Of Eve

Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Landon Meyer
After: Landon Meyer
Before: Russ Reidel

Tried a few jokes that I hadn't done in a while...went up first after the emcee for the second night in a row. Obviously real life issues are taking precedence and comedy(among other things) may have to take a back seat...guess we'll see how things turn out in the next few weeks. Think I've got my set planned out well for tonight...did a test run at home and it timed out to right around ten minutes. Of course, best laid plans and all that...

FCW TV

Your hosts are Matt Martlaro & Byron Saxton.

Mike Dalton, Jason Jordan, & Colin Cassady vs. The Ascension(Conor O'Brian, Tito Colon, & Kenneth Cameron, w/ Raquel Diaz): Raquel can be heard throughout the arena again...Colon and Cameron take out the partners and O'Brian quickly finishes off Cassady via IT'S THE BIG FOOT. Wonder what the future holds for this group now that Colon has been promoted to the WWE's main roster...

Damien Sandow vs. Seth Rollins for the FCW 15 Title: Norman Smiley is sitting at ringside to observe the match along with some FCW newcomers from Japan. Of course, this is Seth's rematch after Sandow screwed him out of the medallion with a slight assist from Dean Ambrose. However, Seth barely gets out of the entrance curtain before he's attacked from behind by Antonio Cesaro! That's one way to make an impact...Cesaro gives Seth a rather painful taste of the ringpost and steps before the referees get him out of there. Several fan favorites help Rollins to his feet...it looks like the match may not happen, but Sandow points out that this is his mandatory title rematch and he's just out of luck if he doesn't wrestle now. That prompts Seth to enter the ring...this matchup WILL happen.

Seth's friends(Tag Team Champions Donny Marlow & C.J. Parker, Johnny Curtis, Roman Leakee) surround the ring to prevent another sneak attack. Meanwhile, Sandow targets the leg in the opening minutes of the matchup..but Seth counters a shinbreaker by going up and over into a sunset flip pin around the two-minute mark!

Sandow freaks out and goes back after the leg with gusto...we pass the five-minute mark with the score still 1-0. Sandow tries a variety of leglocks until Rollins kicks him out of the ring...but Damien takes out the leg again and wraps it around the ringpost. Ringpost figure-four! Back in the ring, Seth goes for quick rollups but can't get another fall. We hit the ten-minute mark with the score remaining the same...Seth guts it out to climb the turnbuckles for a flying clothesline, but Sandow ducks the Avada Kedavra and gets him in a half-crab! Rollins tries to reach the ropes, but Sandow pulls him back to the middle of the ring...and Seth finally submits at the eleven-minute mark.

We're only got a few minutes to go and the score is tied...Sandow goes back after the leg and eats an enzuigiri...for two. Two minutes to go...Damien dropkicks the bad knee, but Seth Flatliners him into the turnbuckles...for two. Seth climbs the turnbuckles but Sandow trips him up, sending him crashing to the mat. One minute to go and Sandow pummels Seth in the corner...but Seth attempts a turnbuckle powerbomb only for his leg to give out. A pin reversal sequence ends in another half-crab by Sandow...but Seth counters into a small package and the referee counts three at the time limit!

Rollins celebrates with his friends, but Smiley gets a call on his cellphone and a second referee relays the news: The final pinfall didn't happen before the time limit expired. Therefore, it's a 1-1 draw and Sandow retains the FCW 15 Title!

Briley Pierce still works here, but Antonio Cesaro grabs the microphone away from him to conduct his own interview. Seth Rollins is still at ringside and wants a piece of him, but referees and wrestlers hold him back.

Women's Champion Audrey Marie & Cameron Lynn vs. Queen Aksana Raudoniene & Caylee Turner: Okay, Lynn seems to be a face now...and Turner seems to still be a face despite teaming with Aksana. Also, the queen's crown is still active though it became REALLY redundant with the introduction of the FCW Women's Title. Aksana trips up Audrey at an opportune moment and abuses her at ringside, putting her side in control. Lynn tags into the match and gets in some offense...Marie tags back in and attempts a monkeyflip, but Aksana counters straight into the Devo Drop(spinebuster) to pin the champion.

Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews Calvin Raines...he vows to be a champion again some day.

Leo Kruger vs. Husky Harris vs. Richie Steamboat for the Heavyweight Title: Leo's banner is finally up on the wall, notably. It looks like Husky and Richie will focus on each other, but Steamboat wants the belt too and he trades chops with Leo. Kruger is content to lay low when the opportunity arises, letting the two rivals beat each other down...Kruger and Steamboat are never really on the same page, an unusual scenario in this style of matchup with two heels and one face. Husky nearly surprises Kruger with a small package while Steamboat is down on the arena floor but can't quite put him away. Martlaro notes that Kruger's sleeperhold may not be the best option here since the third man is available to break up the hold...and that's exactly what happens when Husky bashes him from behind as he tries to get it on Steamboat. Husky rallies against the champion with the Hundred Hand Slap and a pair of avalanches...Steamboat re-enters with a superkick that could hit one or the other and it stuns Husky. Steamboat looks to finish but Kruger dumps him out of the ring, then locks the sleeper on Harris for the tapout to retain the title!

The champion takes his leave, leaving Husky and Steamboat in the ring...and the fight starts back up between the two! The two brawl out of the ring and referees and wrestlers have to separate them once again...

So long from the Sunshine State!

Comedy Part 406: Mini-Road Trip

Location: Westport Funny Bone
Emcee: Sean O'Brien
After: Sean O'Brien
Before: Joe Murray

Rode with Kevin Bunetic out to the Funny Bone this week...trying to save a buck wherever I can. Haven't written much lately but I did try out a new line or two. Not on the list for Etc. but hoping I get added at the show so I can practice a few things before the Best-Of show on Thursday. Wondering if my personal comedy standards are getting too high...that can be good in a sense, but maybe it keeps me from trying out jokes that could be really good. It seems like I'm constantly asking myself "has this been done?"...when there are so many people out there trying to do comedy, it can be very difficult to be original. Wish I had the time and energy to do more shows and try out more material...real life and all that, but most of that is my own fault.

NWA Anarchy TV #302

Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.

Brodie Ray Chase is scheduled for a match, but Se7en attacks him and lays him out with a huge chokeslam. Se7en leaves the building as referees and wrestlers check on The Stray Cat...

Jacob Ashworth & Anthony Henry vs. NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers & Young Lions' Champion Bo Newsom: Ashworth was scheduled to team with Chase, but Henry volunteers to take his place. Ashworth takes himself and Tempers out of the match with a Cactus Clothesline and Bo looks to pin Henry with his infamous small package, but Henry rolls through and hits a brainbuster to pin the Young Lions' Champ!

Skirra Corvus vs. Gil Quest vs. John Skyler: It looks like a two-on-one situation to start, but Corvus clotheslines Skyler out of the ring before focusing on Quest. However, Skyler reinserts himself by clothesline Corvus on the arena floor. The teamwork finally breaks down over who gets the pinfall, as you might expect. Skyler double-crosses Quest, but Corvus dumps Skyler out of the ring as he sets up for a Lionsault. We get a Tower Of Doom spot as Quest powerbombs Skyler off the turnbuckles, but Corvus stays on the turnbuckles and takes out Quest with a Steamboat Press for the three-count as Skyler is just a bit too late to break up the pin.

Billy Buck vs. Bobby Moore: If I'm not mistaken, Moore recently got an upset win over Buck. Moore targets the back for most of the match, leaving Buck in bad shape...but Moore misses a running boot and Buck superkicks him to get the duke.

Kimo & The Urban Assault Squad vs. Heavyweight Champion Azrael & The Hate Junkies(w/ Dan Wilson): It doesn't take long for this one to break down into a full-scale fight...but they finally settle down into standard tag rules with Shadow Jackson squaring off with Azrael. Everyone gets a turn in the ring until the heel side takes control against Nemesis...Shadow tags back into the fray but falls victim to the Hate Junkies' assault. Jackson hits the 1031 Spinebuster out of nowhere on Dany Only, then tags out to Kimo...the house is on fire! The UAS and the Hate Junkies take it to the floor, but Only gets back in the ring to break up a nervehold by Kimo on Azrael...he finally accomplishes that goal with Stryknyn's assist. The referee finally calls it a double DQ and the referees hit the ring to restore order...but that's not going to work too well.

The locker room empties and even THAT doesn't stop the fight. It takes practically the whole roster to keep the sides separated...promoter Franklin Dove has to personally come out and order the fighting to stop. He decides to put a stop to it at Fright Night...with Wargames!

WWE Raw

-C.M. Punk took out Michael Cole with the Anaconda Vice, leaving Jim Ross to call the action with Jerry Lawler...thank God. Hey, Mick Foley's back!
-Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Hunico d. Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston & Sin Cara when Rhodes(now maskless) pinned Kingston after the Crossrhodes.
-Sadly, General Manager Johnny Ace brings Cole back out with his arm in a sling to retake his commentary spot.
-Mason Ryan d. U.S. Champion Dolph Zigger(w/ Vickie Guerrero)(n/t) by DQ when Vickie slapped Ryan. Dolph tried to run away but John Morrison threw him back in the ring to take a full nelson slam from Ryan.
-John Cena: This Is Your Life! Holy crap, "B-Squared" Bull Buchanan. The Rock finally comes out and gives Foley the Rock Bottom to end the segment.
-Sheamus O'Shaunessy d. Jack Swagger(w/ Vickie Guerrero) via Brogue Kick.
-Kelly K(w/ Eve Torres & Alicia Fox) d. Natalya Neidhart(w/ Women's Champion Beth Phoenix) by countering a Sharpshooter attempt with a small package pin.
-WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio & World Champion Mark Henry(w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) d. C.M. Punk & The Big Show; Alberto pinned Punk after Henry gave Punk the World's Strongest Slam. Alberto caught Punk in the cross-armbreaker after the match until Show ran him off.
-Randy Orton(w/ Sheamus O'Shaunessy, Kofi Kingston, Mason Ryan, & Sin Cara) d. Wade Barrett(w/ Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, & Hunico) by DQ when Rhodes attacked Orton to prevent an RKO attempt.
-Finally The Rock has come back to Raw...he calls out Awesome Truth, of course. This brings out John Cena, but the partners would rather snipe at each other than address their opponents. It finally turns into a fight and "R-Truth" Ron Killings takes a Rock Bottom...Cena prepares to give Miz the F-U, but Rock pulls Miz down from Cena's shoulders so he can do another Rock Bottom.

TNA Turning Point

-Robbie Eckos(w/ Rob Terry) d. Eric Young after a cheapshot by Terry to win the T.V. Title.
-Mexican America & Sarita Stock(w/ Rosita Fly) d. Ink Inc. & Toxxin Von Eerie to retain the Tag Team Titles after Sarita BELTed and pinned Toxxin.
-Austin Aries won a triple threat match with Jesse Sorensen and Kid Kash to retain the X-Division Title; Kash hit the Moneymaker on Sorensen but Aries put Jesse's foot on the bottom rope. That led to Aries rolling up Kash for the three-count.
-Rob Van Dam d. Christopher Daniels in a no-DQ match with the five-star frog splash.
-Matt Morgan fought Tommy "Crimson" Mercer to a double DQ when they both shoved the referee down.
-Ken Anderson & Abyss d. Bully Ray & Scott Steiner when Abyss pinned Steiner after the Blackhole Slam.
-Women's Tag Team Champion Gail Kim(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett) d. Velvet Sky via Eat-The-Feet to win the Women's Title.
-Jeff Hardy d. Jeff Jarrett(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett) via Twist Of Fate within seconds...Jarrett complained about a fast count and Hardy agreed to an immediate rematch...
-Jeff Hardy d. Jeff Jarrett(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett) by countering a figure-four attempt with a small package. Jarrett attacked with a chair after the match and gave Hardy the Stroke, then demanded that the referee make a pin count...but Hardy got him in a crucifix pin on the mat and the referee counted Jarrett down AGAIN.
-Bobby Roode d. A.J. Styles to retain the Heavyweight Title by countering the Styles Clash with a double-leg takedown and getting the pin while holding the tights.

MECW Special Comment

One of their better audience turnouts in quite some time, probably due to the magnitude of the main event...had never seen a 60-Minute Ironman Match in person before(had seen at least one 30-Minute Ironman when Dingo fought Cameron Cage).

Given the length of the main event, the rest of the show was surprisingly stacked. The flyer advertised a Tag Team Title defense with Justin Reno substituting for Mike Anthony(who had an Independent Title shot at Shawn Santel). However, Buddy Roberts Jr. was not there so that was scratched.

At the start of the show, Bailey Mannix mentioned the presence of old friend Billy Whack in the audience...this proved to be foreshadowing as Whack would side with Sinn Enterprises at the end of the show.

With Sinn Enterprises all over the show, it seemed like Myranda was at ringside for most of the card...not a complaint, mind you. She's officially the manager of Mizfitt Manners but comes out with any member of the stable these days.

Still no name for the big masked guy...Mr. K jokingly referred to him as "Unknown" so that's what I'm calling him for the moment. The finish wasn't too smooth and it was a surprise to see Reno lose, but it made more sense in light of the show ending.

Aiden Young had a busy night as he also worked the SICW show in East Carondelet. Will catch up on the happenings from that event via Wrestling Explosion.

Troy Seals is a newcomer who made his MECW debut at the previous show(against Eric Allen). He's in good shape and seems to know what he's doing in the ring...don't know much about his background at the moment.

Shorty Biggs made his MECW debut in an odd partnership with the returning Chris Logan...they tried to make the team work but it was not to be and that rivalry seems to have been resparked.

Mike Marvel was another newcomer who made his MECW debut last night...he had a good outing against Kharfu, though the fans didn't hear the ring introduction too clearly and had to settle for chanting "Let's Go New Guy". :)

Odd situation in the Independent Title match as it appeared Anthony had been DQed for blatantly BELTing Santel outside the ring...but it was announced as a double countout instead. They somehow decided on a restart that resulted in Santel winning clean only to be attacked by Kharfu afterwards. I can understand wanting "five more minutes" after a draw since you would want more time, but not for a double countout...in this case, it was two more minutes for whatever reason.

On that note, I really don't get Anthony's odd showings of sportsmanship with the handshakes, especially when he and Santel shook hands a minute or so after Anthony HIT HIM IN THE HEAD WITH A CHAMPIONSHIP BELT.

The bullrope match was a good one...it was a pin/submission finish instead of the "tag four corners" gimmick. McDarby teased a pumphandle slam on Myranda for interfering but settled on a spanking...heh.

Hey, another evil boss storyline. Haven't had one of those in almost two minutes.

Wasn't sure what to expect out of the main event...they went for a more hardcore-style match with a brawl outside the ring in the early stages of the match. I was afraid the fans would be burned out by the end of it(the show started around 7:30 and ended after 11:00) but they were energetic toward the end. Yay Monster Energy Drinks? :)

The powerbomb onto the ladder looked messy...ow.

The fall that put Allen up 3-2 came out of absolutely nowhere and the referee even had to check to be sure Mannix hadn't gotten his shoulder up. As the clock ticked down, it seemed like Mannix killed a lot of time considering he was behind on falls and his caree was on the line...but it just barely worked out as he tied it up with seconds to go.

Sorry to see Allen leave wrestling...I can sympathize with real-life issues taking precedence. I hope he's able to return at some point...but it was a heck of a way to go out if it truly was his last match. As for Bailey, they had been emphasizing his lengthy ring career for the past few shows so I had a hunch he was losing...he WON, but then dropped the title in the impromptu aftermath and was then "fired" by Sarin Sinn. That leaves a serious void on the face side of things in MECW...hopefully Sinn's "ownership" of the promotion will be overturned quickly.

In an odd coincidence, WLW ALSO did a show finish with a heel winning an impromputu title match after the scheduled main event...Jason Jones had won a previous tournament for a title shot of his choice and "cashed in" after Brian Breaker had already retained in a tough match against Ryan Drago. Also, Jeff Strong & Jack Gamble defeated former Tag Champs Steve Fender & Mark Sterling to win the vacant belts...not sure what happened to Eathon Wright or Cancun Kid(the previous titleholders).

Nothing next weekend for me, it looks like...WLW is running in Illinois but it's probably too long of a drive for me. Haven't been to a WLW show yet and I want to go to at least one of those shows, but finances will have to come first for a little while.

ROH + SICW

ROH TV

-The Young Bucks d. The Bravado Brothers when Matt Jackson pinned Lancelot Bravado after More Bang For Your Buck.
-The American Wolves(Heavyweight Champion Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) d. Roderick Strong & Michael Elgin(w/ Truth Martini); Elgin nearly upset Richards after a spiral bomb, but Edwards caught Elgin in a modified dragon sleeper and left him laying in the ring. That allowed Davey to make the cover for the three-count.

SICW Wrestling Explosion

-Chaz Wesson d. Mike Sydal; Sydal tried a half-turn cross-body off the second rope but Wesson rolled through for the pin.
-LaMarcus Clinton & Jeff Vernetti d. Max Archer in a handicap match; Archer controlled a lot of the match but Vernetti made a blind tag near the end. Archer picked up Vernetti for a slam, but LMC schoolboy-tripped him from behind and Vernetti fell on top for the three-count.
-Flashback to the spring of 1981: First we see Ted DiBiase defeat Chief Thundercloud with the figure-four leglock. Then we see highlights from an NWA Heavyweight Title match between champion Harley Race and Missouri Champion DiBiase; Race won the first fall with a modified Tombstone(!), but DiBiase won the second fall with the figure-four. In the final fall, the referee was knocked out of the ring and then Race backdropped DiBiase over the top rope. However, DiBiase returned fire with a bridging back suplex and a second referee made the three-count. It looked like the title had changed hands, but the original referee had seen Race throw DiBiase over the top rope so the actual final decision was a DQ win for DiBiase.

Saturday MECW Results From Wood River, IL

-In the events that started off the show, Mr. K once again turned down Sarin Sinn's offer to buy the company...Leon Alexander resigned as Eric Allen's manager...and Allen asked that the Ironman Match be a no-countout-no-DQ affair(which Bailey Mannix accepted).
-"Unknown"(my interim name for the large masked man in black that has been getting involved in MECW issues lately) d. Justin Reno(w/ Myranda) after catching him in an attempted move off the second rope and delivering a chokeslam.
-Tag Team Champion Sarin Sinn(w/ Myranda) d. Aiden Young via El Cheapo De Rollup.
-Dave Osborne & Troy Seals d. Shorty Biggs & Chris Logan(w/ Eric Allen); Shorty and Logan didn't get along due to their history in other promotions. This finally led to an argument and Biggs decking his partner, allowing Seals to get the rollup pin on Logan.
-Count Kharfu(w/ Myranda) d. Mike Marvel after Myranda hit Marvel with Kharfu's briefcase behind the referee's back.
-Shawn Santel d. Tag Team Champion Mike Anthony(w/ Myranda) to retain the Independent Title; the match initially ended in a double countout after the two brawled outside the ring(including Anthony throwing Santel through the concession stand window!). However, MECW officials allowed the match to be restarted to get a decisive winner. Anthony nearly won with a sleeperhold but Santel kicked off the turnbuckles and flipped on top for the pinfall. Kharfu attacked Santel after the match, dropping him with the straitjacket backcracker.
-Mauler McDarby d. Mizfitt Manners(w/ Myranda) in a bullrope match; Myranda kept interfering and finally got a spanking for her efforts. McDarby was able to reverse Manners into a version of his signature heartpunch to get the three-count.
-Before the main event, Sinn Enterprises attacked Mr. K and forced his signature onto the contract that gave the company to Sarin Sinn. Sinn promptly fired the injured Evan Money(who was sitting in the audience).
-Heavyweight Champion Bailey Mannix d. Great Plains Champion Eric Allen(w/ Chris Logan) in a title vs. title, career vs. career no-countout-no-DQ 60-Minute Ironman Match. The fight went all over the building with Mannix destroying Allen's arm. He actually forced Allen to tap out to a cross-armbreaker, but the referee ruled that it didn't count since it was outside the ring. Mannix was able to get a modified cross-armbreaker in the ring for the tapout(and first fall) just past the twenty-minute mark. Allen brought a ladder into play and evened the score after a powerbomb variant onto the ladder as it was propped up in the corner. Not long after that, Allen got another fall after a low blow and the Shortcut. After the thirty-minute mark, Bailey rallied with a cobra clutch suplex followed by a Shining Wizard to make it 2-2. Around the 45-minute mark, Allen got a fall out of nowhere after a huge kick to the head. The clock ticked down to the time limit and Mannix got Allen in a reverse armbreaker in the final minute, finally forcing Allen to tap with seconds to go!
-That made it 3-3 and a draw, but Sarin Sinn ordered overtime...then Sinn Enterprises attacked BOTH men and even the referee. Leon Alexander tried to help only to get choked out by Anthony. Finally, the fan favorite locker room emptied to run off Sinn Enterprises...but the combatants recovered as the overtime was still officially in progress! Mannix finally got the decisive fall in sudden death after a sitout Tombstone onto a chair!
-Chaos ensued after the match as Justin Reno ran into the ring and hit a swinging fisherman buster on Mannix, then Sinn and company ordered the referee to make a three-count...making Reno the new Heavyweight Champion! Sinn continued his power trip by firing Mannix, who stayed true to his word by leaving his boots in the ring on his "retirement"...but Reno made off with the boots as well as his ill-begotten title.
