NXT + Impact

WWE NXT5.com

Your hosts are Jack Korpela & S. William Regal, your emcee is Matt Striker.

J.T.G. starts the show by introducing us to "Batemax"...see, famous couples have cutesy combined nicknames. Maxine whines about not getting a ring with the proposal, but Bateman has the ring for her this week. Titus O'Neil, Percy Watson, and A.J. Lee join the party...the usual war of words ensues. Bateman gets dumped out of the ring and the other heels retreat...so Striker makes a six-person tag for our main event.

Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. Tyson Kidd & Johnny Curtis: Curtis lives! With Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins still "suspended" from NXT, Kidd brings out the winner of NXT4 as his partner. Korpela alludes to the fact that Curtis never got his guaranteed Tag Team Title shot from winning NXT4...he had somewhat of a falling-out with his mentor "R-Truth" Ron Killings. The Usos actually debuted in WWE with a series of ambushes on Kidd and David Hart Smith, so there's a bit of history here. The commentators always refer to Jey having the chest tattoo, but I usually look for the large tattoo on the left shoulder of JIMMY Uso to tell them apart. Jey takes some abuse before making a hot tag to Jimmy...but Jimmy gets cut off fairly quickly and the heels work on the leg. Regal notes that Curtis was trained by Killer Kowalski...just like Triple H. That may be the ONLY comparison between those two. Anywho, Jey gets hot tag number two and nails the Umaga^H^H^HRikishi buttsmash in the corner but Kidd breaks up the pin. Kidd tries a somersault dive off the apron but the Usos catch him and dump him rather painfully onto the barricade. Jey catches Curtis in the Samoan Drop and Jimmy tags in to add the big splash off the top for the victory.

Kaitlyn Bonin vs. Tamina Snuka: Wonder if the Usos and Tamina ever cross paths backstage on this show? Regal notes how Kaitlyn has been basing her offense around her leg strength in recent weeks. Tamina dominates most of the matchup, but Kaitlyn hits a Side Effect out of nowhere for her third win in a row on NXT.

Titus O'Neil, Percy Watson, & A.J. Lee vs. J.T.G., Derrick Bateman, & Maxine Perez: The ladies can't wait to fight each other so they start the matchup. Once the guys get into the action, a distraction by Maxine allows Bateman to nail Percy with a corner dropkick. J.T.G. does a Union Jack neckbreaker and Regal notes that he once used that move himself, wondering if J.T.G.'s trying to tell him something. Hot tag O'Neil, but Bateman cuts him off with a huge dropkick and Watson has to save him from a pin attempt. It's breaking down in Greenville and Percy sends J.T.G. out with a Cactus Clothesline, then the girls catfight...Bateman gets occupied with that sight and walks right into the Clash Of The Titus. 1-2-3.

TNA Impact

-Gail Kim & Madison Rayne(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett & Traci Brooks) d. Tara Varon & Brooke Tessmacher to win the Women's Tag Team Titles. Tara hit the Widow's Peak on Rayne but Karen distracted the referee from seeing the pin attempt; Gail hit Eat-The-Feet on Tara and put Rayne on top for the three-count.
-Jesse Sorensen d. X-Division Champion Austin Aries(n/t) by countering a brainbuster attempt with a small package; Kid Kash did commentary for the match.
-Jeff Hardy & Ken Anderson d. Jeff Jarrett & Bully Ray(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett) by DQ when Scott Steiner interfered as the faces were setting up for stereo swanton bombs.
-Bobby Roode d. James Storm to win the Heavyweight Title; the referee tweaked his knee when he dove out of the ring to avoid a collision. While the official's attention wasn't on the match, Roode took the opportunity to hit Storm in the head with his own beer bottle and pinned him to win the belt.
