-Takeover update: Ember Moon suffered a shoulder sprain at the hands of NXT Women's Champion Asuka Urai...she was interviewed with her arm in a sling and said she was out of Takeover Chicago. That meant it would be a triple threat match with Asuka defending against Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross.
-Takeover update: At WWE's United Kingdom events this past weekend, "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne earned an opportunity to challenge Tyler Bate for the U.K. Title at Takeover.
-Nikki Cross didn't feel much like doing a sitdown interview...
-Backstage: Drew Galloway was interviewed about his pursuit of the NXT Title...he was interrupted by Wesley Blake, who felt he was deserving of his own "second chance".
-Coming soon: "The Velveteen Dream" Patrick Clark.
-Do It Yourself(Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) said they wanted their fair two-on-two NXT Tag Team Title rematch with The Authors Of Pain(Akam Dhinsa & Rezar Selmani). They were interrupted by Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss, who were looking for their own opportunities...that triggered D.I.Y. into action and they cleared Sabbatelli & Moss out of the ring.
-Do It Yourself(Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) d. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss; Ciampa pinned Moss after the Meet In The Middle(close-range superkick/knee strike to the back of the head combo) (5:04). After the match, General Manager S. William Regal announced that D.I.Y. would face The Authors Of Pain at Takeover Chicago...that brought out The Authors and Paul Ellering vowed that they would end Ciampa & Gargano's careers. Regal then announced that the titles would be on the line in a ladder match!
-Backstage: Kassius Ohno came up short against NXT Champion Bobby Roode, so what's next? It was a bad night for uninterrupted interviewed as Andrade "Cien" Almas stepped into the picture...setting up a match for next week's show.
-Backstage: Roderick Strong and Hideo Itami were interviewed about their feature bout...the winner would go on to Takeover Chicago to challenge Bobby Roode for the NXT Title.
-Hideo Itami d. Roderick Strong with the Go 2 Sleep (15:46 aired).
