MECW Special Comment

Interesting show...watched the second half of it with Sean Vincent(insert your own opinions here, LOL).

They seemed to be shorthanded as a total of ten wrestlers worked the show and six of them worked twice(single matches plus the eight-man tag main event). The show had five matches total, which was on par with recent shows. Notable absences included Tag Team Champion Mike Anthony(said to be suspended), Evan Money, Jordan McEntyre, and Chris Logan.

It also seems like they've been short on referees lately...from looking at Youtube videos from the previous show, they were so short on refs that the other wrestlers had to fill in as officials. If any local refs are looking for a place to work, you might want to get in touch with these guys.

MECW only had one ref at the show this weekend and he seemed to be VERY new...in the first two matches, it seemed like DQs were called at odd times and the wrestlers seemed surprised by it when it happened. Set an odd trend for the first two matches of the show to be DQs and THEN a double countout in match three.

Not too familiar with the new crew from Chicago/Windy City other than a few Youtube clips from the previous MECW show. Don't know the name of Mizfitt Manners' valet...would LIKE to know who she is, yeah. *gets smacked* Sorry, redheads are one of my 746 weaknesses.

Unaware of the status of Jimmy Rockwell as he will apparently be absent from MECW long enough to warrant forfeiting the Independent Title. Shawn Santel defeated Mauler McDarby for the vacant belt last month in a match that I would have liked to have seen.

Odd main event with the face team including three guys who were previously major heels(all but Barry Ryte)...and after being the proverbial "bouncing babyface" all night, Allen double-crossed his team. Ouch.

Anywho, next week is Fourth Of July weekend so no one local is running. The rest of July looks like this:

7/8: Dynamo
7/9: SLA, MMWA
7/16: SICW
7/23: IHW, MECW, NMW
7/30: AAPW
