Your hosts are Tim E.D. and John Johnson.
Brodie Ray Chase vs. Jeff Lewis for the T.V. Title: Tough test for Brodie against a former multi-time titleholder. Lewis targets the arm for several minutes but the champ makes the one-armed comeback. THE STRAPS COME DOWN~! but Lewis counters out of a double-arm DDT attempt into a Russian legsweep...for two. Lewis sizes up the titleholder and looks to finish with the Roll Of The Credits, but Chase counters out of THAT. Lewis goes uncharacteristically aerial with a half-turn cross-body off the top, but Brodie rolls through to get the three-count and retain his title.
Shaun Tempers meets up with Bo Newsom backstage...talk of small packages abounds. Tempers proposes a "Small Package Challenge" with the lofty sum of $25 on the line. Hey, at least they're realistic...
Enter Youth Gone Wild(Tag Team Champions)...their scheduled challengers(The New Wave) are MIA, sorry to say. YGW are cool with facing Derrick Driver and Steven Walters whenever they return...they're fighting champions, so they issue an open challenge. That brings out Jacoby Boykins...and his new tag team partner Chris Mayne enters from the other side of the building and attacks from behind! They lay out Dustin Knight with a powerbomb/backcracker combo as manager John Johnson observes the proceedings...then take out Anthony Henry with a superplex/Macho Elbow combo. Looks like we have an answer to that challenge...Johnson introduces his new pairing as The Ambassadors.
Kimo vs. Azrael(w/ Dan Wilson): It doesn't take long for this one to get out of control as they brawl on the floor right away. Wilson grabs Kimo's foot to allow Azrael the opening for a cheapshot...thus is the official start of the matchup. Kimo turns it around with Eat-The-Feet and the fight spills out of the ring AGAIN. Azrael neutralizes Kimo with a drop-toehold on the concrete...the two trade chops on the floor and Azrael just barely remembers to break the ten-count. The ref finally leaves the ring to restore order and gets shoved by Kimo, resulting in a no-contest finish. Azrael and The Reverend retreat, leaving Kimo standing alone in the ring.
Ace Rockwell vs. Kyle Matthews: This is another match in the NWA North American Title tournament and Rockwell is the reigning NWA Southern Champion. Shaun Tempers(who defeated Caprice Coleman in an earlier tournament matchup) joins Johnson at the broadcast table...he faces the winner of this matchup in the finals. Haven't seen Matthews in a while...he entered Anarchy as one-half of the Hollywood Brunettes with Andrew Alexander and had a shot or two with Ring Of Honor. Of course the Rockwell-Tempers history is well documented as they started in NWA Wildside/Anarchy as the tag team Pomp & Circumstance and feuded after Tempers double-crossed Rockwell to join the Devil's Rejects.
Feeling-out to start(YAY WRESTLING~!)...Kyle gets a cool Indian Deathlock variant and rolls Ace over into an attempted pinning combination(Rockwell keeps his shoulders off the mat). Cool spot as they both go for armdrags at the same time and drop to the mat in realistic fashion without either man able to execute the move. Matthews opens up greater hostilities with a half-slingshot suplex to knock the wind out of his opponent, focusing his attack on the midsection. Catapult under the ropes does more damage to the gut...meanwhile, Johnson and Tempers wonder what would happen if the match ends in a draw of some sort...Tempers would be North American Champion via bye, would he not? Kyle chokes Ace on the ropes, milking the five-count and keeping the wind out of his opponent...Rockwell finally gets an opening by avoiding a Stinger Splash but can't capitalize as Matthews catches him in an abdominal stretch.
Ace hiptosses his way out of the predicament, but Kyle cuts him off with a jawbreaker and then a dropkick to the CHEST(staying on the midsection!). Just as I say that, he goes for a half-crab...oh well. Rockwell powers out of that and fires up, hitting the Stinger Splash(but not doing himself any favors). The bulldog followup is blocked, as is an attempted O'Connor Roll...and Rockwell eats a close-range superkick(a la Seth Rollins) for a near-fall! Kyle goes topside but Rockwell hits the pop-up superplex! Ace drapes an arm over Matthews...for two. Kyle reverses into a kick to the gut to send Ace through the ropes, but a suplex reversal spot from there sends both men tumbling to the floor!
Johnson and Tempers are psyched about the possibility of a double countout and a default title win for Tempers, but both re-enter at the nine-count. They slug it out and Rockwell clotheslines Matthews to the floor...but Kyle slides in as Ace attempts a plancha. Rockwell lands on his feet, but Matthews nails the Austin Aries-style low-altitude suicide dive! Kyle throws Ace back into the ring but runs into a spinebuster...for two. AIRPLANE SPIN~! by Ace leaves both men dizzy, but Kyle blocks Aces High and gets a bridging back suplex...for two! Rockwell fires back and goes to the top, but gets dropkicked coming down...for two, but the kickout allows Matthews to hook a Boston Crab!
Ace is in the middle of the ring, but he manages to power his way to the ropes. Matthews lines up Rockwell, but Ace collapses to the mat. Kyle makes the mistake of trying to pull him up and Ace grabs him in a jackknife pin attempt, kicking off a series of pin reversals...Matthews nearly gets a backslide, but Ace powers Matthews over and nails the Aces High! 1-2-3 and the tournament final will be Rockwell vs. Tempers! Mutual respect after the match...great showing for Matthews, but Ace is the winner on this night. Tempers approaches the ring to confront his old rival as we fade out.
Next week: Billy Buck & Andrew Alexander vs. The Hate Junkies, falls-count-anywhere.
