Triple Shot Special Comment

IHW

Waterloo draw was a bit lower than their previous show in the venue.

Sucks about Aarons' spinal problems, he was just starting to branch out to work in other parts of the country.

Okay, Espy's the face and Hawkins is the heel in IHW.  *marks scorecard*

Maybe they should have spaced out the McNeil-Hawkins and Espinosa-Karrington matches since they were kinda similar in overall style.

Haven't seen Neil Diamond Cutter at an area show in a while.

No Chris Logan, who was one of the announced tournament participants.

That's honestly the first time I can recall seeing Malaki win a match.

Good to see Justin Wade back in action.

Money-SSK didn't click as well as I thought it would.  Finish seemed to come out of nowhere.

So after Cage and his manager buried Kozina in the opening segment, he was tapping out clean(manager had the ref distracted) and needed to hit him with the belt to win...yeah.

Main event was kind of a schmozz when it was just the three heels in there since the fans didn't have anyone to support...McEntyre went out surprisingly quietly.  Good to see Billy win.

Dynamo

The show started late and went REALLY long...it was loaded with just the tournament but they kept adding to the show.  Time management and all that...

With the thunderstorms outside, I imagine some people were worried about the prospect of another power outage, but thankfully that didn't happen.

The tournament situation itself was funny since Wyatt had just won the vacant NWA Missouri Title after it was forfeited by Davey Vega...but then Wyatt won the NWA Central States Title from Sterling at a Metro Pro Wrestling show which left the Missouri belt vacant AGAIN.

Only missing person from the announced lineup was Cancun Kid...Sean Vincent took his place.

Cool to see Lyte and L.V.K. on the show...Lyte worked the HVW show in Caseyville a month or two ago and apparently both have started training at Dynamo.  They have impressive athleticism but need to learn to work the crowd a bit more.

Odd structure of the semifinals as it was face vs. face(Walsh-Cook) and heel vs. heel(Makaze-Karrington)...but Makaze sold the knee injury well enough to solidify himself as the face by default.

The tag match finish seems to set up Shorty as a potential challenger to Wyatt's title...we shall see.

The events of the night set up the formation of the newly-expanded Ego Express with Greg Jovi officially joining them as their manager and Adam Rich turning heel.  Okay, so THAT'S why they just happened to have two ring announcers(Jovi and Curtis Wylde split the duties for the evening).  I don't know if Sharona's new "commissioner" duties mean he's staying out of the ring for the moment but I guess we'll see.

As for what happened after the show...I was wary of the potential powderkeg with representatives of other area groups in attendance.  Unfortunately, issues surfaced between Wylde and Mephisto afterwards and I ended up in the middle of things.  Should have let other people handle it...and I let my own past issues with an individual escalate the situation.

Broadway

Another lengthy show...

Had seen a few instances in the past where a "larger" wrestler challenged for the Jr. Heavyweight Title...

Outstanding match once again between Espinosa and Vaughn...Espy's win was a bit surprising but fine by me.  Screwy finish...gosh darn it, they'll just have to wrestle each other again.

First time seeing Lucy Mendez live...she and Stacey have fought in Metro Pro though the face/heel roles are reversed.  Match seemed a bit longer than it should have been(more on that later), but the finish using the ropes leaves the door open for rematches.

No Phil E. Blunt(Missouri license?) so Sean Vincent challenged Gary Jackson instead...fine matchup with Jackson winning, after which he threw out a challenge to SICW Classic Champion Ron Powers.  Those two have been feuding for about, oh, a decade or so...

It was pretty late at this point and the fans were getting restless for Rhino's match, but instead got Ace Hawkins vs. Tony Raze.  Not a bad match by any means, of course.

Vaughn had a LONG night with two lengthy matches...the Espinosa match went close to twenty minutes and the Sterling match went at least ten.

No explanation was initially given for the substitution...but after the fact, we were told that Rhino twisted his ankle backstage.  A friend theorized that Rhino had licensing issues and they were trying to stall out the state official, but it didn't work.  Fans were leaving as the show ran later and later...sucks that had to happen.  :P

Anywho, that wraps up the last two weekends...next weekend is SICW with Ted DiBiase, then the week after that is MECW.
