AAW Pro Wrestling TV #2
Commentators: Phil Colvin & Dave Prazak.
Kung Fu Manchu("The 'Stache" Marion Fontaine & Louis Lyndon) vs. Zero Gravity(Brett Gakiya & C.J. Esparza): I prognosticate many FLIPPIES~! in this one. Both teams are fan favorites and it doesn't take long before the pace hits overdrive...yeahhhhh, don't think I'll be able to do this justice with a blow-by-blow. We reach a stalemate after all four men tangle...I guess with no disqualifications, there isn't much point in tagging. Gakiya & Esparza have only wrestled in my neck of the woods a handful of times and haven't been here in a few years. Fontaine worked one St. Louis Anarchy show...haven't seen Lyndon in this area. Lots of tandem offense from both sides in this one...with no DQs, why worry about the five-count? Esparza takes some abuse from Kung Fu Manchu but Gakiya finally gets a tag...he and Lyndon trade "unorthodox" offense from there. Fontaine and Esparza re-enter but Fontaine gets sent to the floor...C.J. hits the somersault plancha but Brett cuts off Lyndon's suicide dive attempt.
The Zero G members hit a double-team where Gakiya looks like he's giving Esparza a top-rope Frankensteiner, but instead C.J. boosts Brett up and over into a moonsault on Lyndon! Fontaine re-enters but gets sunset-flipped from the top rope by Esparza...Marion rolls through but takes stereo close-range superkicks from Zero G. They hit another ridiculous double-team where C.J. suplexes Brett up and over into a somersault splash on Fontaine...Lyndon saves. What's the ref gonna do, ask the illegal man nicely to leave the ring? Fancy footwork leads to Lyndon roundhouse-kicking Gakiya out of the ring...Esparza takes a boost-into-palm strike from Lyndon, a superkick from Fontaine, a dropkick from Lyndon, and a Lionsault from Fontaine for the pinfall! (Match time: 8:31)
Eddie Kingston vs. Jordan Francois McEntyre: Have seen McEntyre a few times in my area(mostly in MECW)...you might know Kingston from Ring Of Honor, among other places. McEntyre manages to not immediately die...but an overhead suplex into the turnbuckles trends things in the other direction in a hurry. One Backfist To The Future later, Eddie gets the win. (Match time: 1:23)
Eddie says he didn't travel all this way for a short match(though he admits that was a "lot of cardio" for him)...how about an encore? He makes fun of a few fans to kill some time...
Eddie Kingston vs. Markus Crane: Here's another guy I haven't seen in a while...but I don't know if he'll last much longer than McEntyre. Crane dares Kingston to CROSS THE LINE~!...he does so, much to Crane's chagrin. One quick backdrop driver ends it. (Match time: 0:44)
Eddie Kingston vs. Knight Wagner: Hey, another familiar face...and another likely victim. Knight decides to one-up Kingston in the colorful language department, then makes fun of New York. Kingston gets a good laugh out of this...but Wagner slaps him and the laughing is over. Wagner ducks the spinning backfist and hits a flying knee strike...for one. Eddie decides that playtime is over...Exploder suplex, clothesline, THE STRAPS COME DOWN...but Wagner throws Eddie out of the ring. Running no-hands plancha! Knight gets him back in the ring and goes to the top rope...but he jumps off right into the Backfist! Good night. (Match time: 1:27)
Eddie rightly makes fun of the fans for chanting "We Want Sea Man"...see, Sea Man is the resident masked lowcarder and his name sounds like...yeah.
Hellooooo, Scarlett Bordeaux. Redheads: One of my 746 weaknesses.
Samuray Del Sol vs. "The Last Real Man" Silas Young(w/ Val Malone): Samuray is the resident lucha superstar of the area...you may be seeing him in NXT soon under a different name. Silas has been making a name for himself in ROH lately and is a former two-time AAW Heavyweight Champion. The fans chant for "lucha" in support of Samuray. YAY WRESTLING~! FLIPPIES~! This is actually my first time seeing Del Sol in action. Young shows he can go flippy-for-flippy with the masked man...to a point. Del Sol avoids a basement dropkick and transitions straight into a half-crab...nicely done and Young has to go to the ropes for a break. Silas gets separation with a jawbreaker but can't keep the momentum for long...Val pulls Samuray's foot to stop a springboard move but the luchador lands on his feet on the floor. Del Sol avoids the incoming baseball slide and hits a modified 619, then nails the suicide dive!
Back in the ring, Young ducks the next springboard move attempt and drops the masked man with a Death Valley Driver onto the knee. That finally slows the pace to Silas' liking, so the commentary goes slightly off the rails to compensate. Del Sol finally fires back with Los Educated Feet, then hits a Code Red out of nowhere...for two. To the second rope for a blind cross-body...but Silas rolls through and picks him up into a backbreaker. Cover...gets two.
Young slows the pace anew and adds some trash-talk to the mix...but that fires up both the fans and the opposition. Rana attempt...is blocked into a fallaway Stungun, so much for that. Corner boot hits, but Del Sol monkeyflips Young into the turnbuckles out of nowhere...another comeback forthcoming? Samuray hits a twisting rana out of the corner, spinning heel kick, and Asai DDT...for 2 1/2. Second floor...third floor...Merosault whiffs but he lands on his feet, only to run right into a Blue Thunder Bomb onto the knee followed by a short-range clothesline! Cover...gets two.
Silas resorts to bootlace-raking the face...he goes to the second rope but Del Sol kicks him from his back! They fight on the turnbuckles...and Del Sol hits the Rising Sun(top-rope bodyscissors Victory Roll)...for 2 1/2! Young hits a Regal Roll out of nowhere but Samuray avoids the turnbuckle-headstand/ropeflip moonsault. Silas lands on his feet only for Del Sol to spike him with a Frankensteiner! Close-range superkick...for 2 1/2! Samuray goes for another blind move off the second rope and gets dumped face-first onto the top turnbuckle...Buh-Buh Bomb by Silas, transitioning straight into the Stock Lock(full nelson out of the Crippler Crossface position)! Samuray has nowhere to go but Tapout City. (Match time: 18:31)
Kingston is back out to talk...he congratulates Silas on his win, but turns on the fans and calls them fickle and ungrateful. He say they might as well be CZW fans and a bunch of "D.J. Hydes"...okay then. Kingston challenges Young, calling him a standard-bearer for the promotion...Silas agrees with him about the fans, but they're HIS "retard fans". Silas says that Kingston is a big deal elsewhere, but he beat three "goofs" tonight so he hasn't accomplished anything here yet. He'll have to earn a match...but he'll give him a fight if he wants one. Kingston suddenly says he's not getting paid to fight again and backs off. However, he goes after Young once he turns his back, only Silas sees it coming and fights back. Kingston cuts him off with a punt to the Universal Weak Point, then goes for a chair...but Val gets in the ring to cover up her man. Kingston throws the chair down...but then grabs Val by the hair and hits her! Kingston goes to leave, but goes back for the chair to nail Silas. He pulls him to the edge of the ring...sitout powerbomb off the apron through the timekeeper's table! Kingston has a seat in the ring and addresses the "retards" in the audience...this company is going to change.
