NXT, Superstars, Smackdown

WWE NXT

Commentators:  Tom Phillips, Alex Riley, & Lord Tensai^H^H^HJason Albert.  Ring announcer:  Brandi Rhodes(if not previously mentioned, the artist formerly known as Eden Stiles and the current Mrs. Cody Rhodes).

NXT Women's Champion Paige Knight vs. Sasha Banks(w/ Charlotte Flair & Summer-Rae-On-A-Stick), non-title:  Sasha swipes Paige's T-shirt and throws it away...yeah, that'll tick off the champ.  Paige throws Sasha around in the early moments of the bout, but Sasha turns it around and keeps Paige down with a straitjacket hold.  Paige backs Sasha into the corner and elbows her way out of the hold, then hits a chain of short-arm clotheslines followed by a dropkick.  Scorpion Crosslock is hooked and Sasha has nowhere to go but Tapout City!  Charlotte wastes no time in attacking Paige from behind...but Natalya Neidhart runs off the Beautiful Fierce Females.

Last week backstage:  Sami Zayn feels like he's done with Corey Graves...but if he wants to fight again, he's up for the challenge.

Backstage:  Mojo Rawley remains hyped...he made his WWE Network debut and he returns to action next week.

NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension(Konnor O'Brian & Rick Viktor) vs. Travis Tyler & Cal Bishop, non-title:  Yeahhhhh, don't see the champs' winning streak ending here.  Seriously, any tag teams out there?  Anyone?  Bueller?  Tyler & Bishop actually get some token offense against Viktor, but it doesn't last as Viktor takes down Bishop with a European uppercut and STO.  Tyler gets a somewhat-unwanted tag and that merely alters the target of abuse.  Konnor whips Tyler into a flying knee strike off the second rope from Viktor...then Konnor tags in for the Fall Of Man(legsweep/flying European uppercut combo).  1-2-3.

Mason Ryan vs. Wesley Blake:  Renee Young joins the broadcast team for this one because...um, I'll get back to you on that.  The fans assert that Ryan is Better Than Batista.  Blake gets the non-entrance, so that should tell you how this one will go.  The commentators amuse themselves by making fun of Tom Phillips...meanwhile, Blake puts up slightly more resistance than Tyler and Bishop in the previous bout.  Blake gets in a single-arm DDT, but Ryan powers out of the pin attempt with authority.  Ryan finally fires up with a Stungun, IT'S THE BIG FOOT, and cobra clutch slam for the victory.

Backstage, Devin Taylor interviews Bayley Rose...but Bayley's more occupied with watching the WWE NETWORK~! on her iPad.  She's friends with Nattie so she got to meet Bret Hart!  Sasha and Charlotte barge in to make fun of her...but Bayley retorts to Summer-On-A-Stick in response.  Natalya enters the picture...Charlotte says that Nattie was WWE Divas' Champion a LONG time ago and now she's famous for drunk-dialing Stephanie McMahon on Total Divas.  Nattie remembers how her uncle Bret beat Charlotte's dad Ric for the WWE Title and how that led to Ric leaving the company a few months later...hmm.

Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev(w/ Lana Perry):  Xavier is looking for payback after Rusev screwed up his match at ArRIVAL...he still has "Somebody Call My Mama" for his theme but no Funkadactyls(get well soon, Naomi Night!).  He's focused on the task at hand...but Tyler Breeze makes his big entrance instead of Rusev.  Brandi gets a bit mixed up and introduces Breeze as Woods' opponent...but Breeze is here to get a piece of Rusev as well.  He tells Xavier to step aside, but Lana interrupts before Woods can answer one way or the other.  As Rusev approaches the ring, Breeze nails Xavier from behind and puts the boots to him...guess they're NOT on the same page.  Woods still wants to fight so the referee calls for the bell...that may not be a wise decision.  Rusev dominates the action...Xavier finally fights back after a few minutes, but he gets caught in a major Samoan Drop.  Rusev hits his modified Rock Bottom and finishes with the Accolade(camel clutch) shortly thereafter...he doesn't release the hold until Lana signals for him to do so.

Next week:  Sheamus O'Shaunessy is in action.

Backstage:  Devin Taylor interviews NXT Champion Adrian Neville and Bo Dallas is quick to interrupt...the title rematch happens in two weeks.  The Bo-Lievers are sick of his face, his ears, and his flips...Neville retorts not with words but a slap in the face.

Colin Cassady vs. Bo Dallas:  God help me, I like the "BO-LIEVE" T-shirt.  The commentators say that Neville and Dallas are the only men to have held both the singles and tag titles in NXT...okay, Bo was a surrogate champion after Oliver Grey got hurt.  Cassady shows his power advantage and, along with the fans, deems the opposition to be S-A-W-F-T~!  Bo stalls outside the ring for a little while, then goes to the headlock and hangs onto it with a handful of hair(cheat to win~!).  Big Cass sends Dallas back to the floor with a single shoulderblock...so much for that strategy.

Okay, reset button...Bo rolls out of the ring again, then snaps Cassady's throat off the top rope when Cass grabs him by the hair.  Bo slows the pace and keeps the big man down...CRAVATE~!  Well, I guess it's fair game in WWE now that Kassius Ohno is gone.  The fans chant "boring"...Dallas replies "This IS 'Bo's Ring'!"  Okay, that's actually brilliant.  Cass reverses an Irish whip into the turnbuckles to start the comeback...high knee and S-A-W-F-T clubbing forearm get a two-count.  Bo escapes a slam attempt but IT'S THE BIG FOOT...for two.  Bo seeks refuge in the ropes and grabs Cassady by the hair for an eye rake, then drops him with a Mafia Kick before planting him with a Future Shock-style double-underhook DDT.  That'll do it...Drew McIntyre may not want to answer his phone for the time being.

Next week:  Sheamus, Bayley vs. Sasha, and Mojo Rawley in action.
