WWE NXT
After ArRIVAL went off the air: John Cena personally congratulated new NXT Champion Adrian Neville.
Commentators: Tom Phillips, S. William Regal, & Byron Saxton. Ring announcer: Brandi Rhodes.
NXT Champion Adrian Neville vs. Donny Camacho, non-title: Camacho turns down the Code Of Honor and kicks Neville in the gut instead...time for some FLIPPIES~! from the champ. Adrian outwrestles him early, but the commentators wonder if he's 100% so soon after the ladder match. Camacho beats Neville down in the corner, then plants him with a running powerslam...for two. Adrian goes aerial with flying forearms and dropkicks, then a huge dropkick off the second rope. Third floor...Red Arrow(corkscrew shooting star press) hits and that'll do it!
Renee Young interviews Neville...he's on cloud nine after his big win. He's not the biggest guy...he jokes about his look and his accent, but he gets it done in the ring. The best thing about last week...No More Bo! However, the former champion takes exception to that and he's not smiling right now. Bo congratulates him, but says Neville didn't pin him...he just climbed a ladder like a dad cleaning gutters. He hopes Adrian gets a lot of pictures taken with the title belt...he'll cash in his rematch clause soon.
Last week backstage: Renee caught up to Emma Tayla after her loss to NXT Women's Champion Paige Knight. Paige is tough and deserves to be the champion...but she hopes she earned Paige's respect. Emma says she'll be a champion someday...but she's interrupted by Ric Flair of all people. Flair says the next NXT Women's Champion will be his daughter Charlotte...and Charlotte adds her two cents. Emma doesn't say a word...she just smiles and dances off.
Also last week backstage: Paige is ready for all challengers, so the Flair family steps up to accept that offer.
Emma Tayla vs. Charlotte Flair(w/ Sasha Banks): Renee joins the broadcast team for this one...Regal's focus is thusly diverted. Regal and Renee join in the dance...heh. Sasha brings a picture of Summer Rae to the ring. They start out technical with neither women holding a clear advantage for long...Emma tries for an O'Connor Roll but tries to dance in mid-move and Charlotte kicks out. Emma rolls her up...for two. Charlotte tries a leapfrog out of the corner but tweaks her ankle on the landing...Emma quickly covers for two, but Charlotte may be hurt here. The referee checks on her and Emma turns to confront Sasha...but Charlotte was faking it and hits her forward-flip Diamond Cutter for the surprise win!
Last week backstage: Zayn got what he wanted out of the Cesaro match: Respect.
Yoshi Tatsu vs. Corey Graves: Haven't seen Yoshi in a while. Graves feels like he was snubbed as it relates to NXT ArRIVAL...and now he's dealing with inferior competition(in his eyes). Something else is bugging him...Sami Zayn's had some great matches but how much has he WON? Corey says he only needs one shot and he would beat Antonio Cesaro...as for Yoshi: "Let's just get this over with." Regal says you can't take Yoshi lightly, but that's exactly what Graves seems to be doing...in fact, he declares it a waste of time and thinks about taking a walk. Yoshi follows him out, but Graves clotheslines him and rams him into the ring steps. Graves re-enters the ring...and wins by countout? Um, okay. Graves abuses Yoshi some more and locks him in the Lucky 13(Fuller Leglock)...but that brings out Sami Zayn for the save! Corey was just leaving...OLE~! Zayn decides to challenge Graves to a match...tonight. Will we see that later?
Backstage: Devin Taylor attends a party thrown by Adam Rose...that guy bears a striking resemblance to Leo Kruger. He'll have a debut of "Jurassic proportions"...and he calls his fans "Rosebuds".
Xavier Woods wants another shot at Alexander Rusev...Rusev and Lana Perry are fine with that. That'll be next week.
Adam Rose vs. Wesley Blake: The dance party has migrated to the entrance ramp...Rose climbs to the ring apron, then Nestea-Plunges into the arms of his follows who carry him around the ring. The fans chant "That Was Awesome"...heh. Rose gets out of a wristlock and rolls around the ring a bit...err. Rose takes refuge in the ropes and swings around on them until kicking Blake down...nicely done. Lord Tensai seems to have replaced Regal on commentary for this one. Blake doesn't break clean and that ticks off Adam Rose..."YOU WANT TO FIGHT, HUH?" Rose rushes Blake and beats him down with elbows and knees...he follows up with a spinebuster and then grooves his way into a LARIATOOOOO~!(no longer the Slice, presumably) for the victory. All righty then...his followers return to the entranceway as Rose leaves the ring. Let the party resume!
Sami Zayn vs. Corey Graves: We're told that John Bradshaw Layfield ordered this matchup...Byron says that Graves got himself into the main event like he wanted. Corey roughhouses his way into an early advantage...like Neville, Zayn may not be 100% after ArRIVAL. On top of that, Zayn is coming off a knee injury and Graves' main finisher is a leglock. Zayn rallies with a series of armdrags to send Graves to the floor...Corey wisely evades the potential plancha but it's just a fakeout. (Think my version clipped out part of this match...)
Zayn stays on the offense, but Graves stops him with a fireman's-carry backbreaker...for two. Zayn elbows Graves out of a blind charge, then goes to the top for a cross-body...for two. Corner boot...no, he runs into a forearm from Graves. Graves goes for the Lucky 13 but Sami fights out of it, then hits the Blue Thunder Bomb...for two! Zayn looks to capitalize but Graves legdives him, then tries for the leglock again only to get small-packaged...for two. Zayn tries to set up his ropewalk tornado DDT but gets caught in fireman's-carry position...Corey tries for the backbreaker variant again and Zayn counters into an inside cradle for the three-count!
TNA Impact
-Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz.
-Montel Vontavious Porter announced that the fourth member of his Lethal Lockdown team would be Jeff Hardy...but Dixie Carter claimed she suspended Hardy's contract when he walked out of the company...
-Montel Vontavious Porter & The American Wolves(Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) fought Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, & Tag Team Champion Robbie Eckos to a no-contest in an elimination tag match. Eliminations: MVP pinned Robbie E after the Drive-By boot. Aries pinned Edwards after the brainbuster. Roode pinned MVP by rolling him up with feet on the ropes. Aries got disqualified when he broke up Davey's half-crab on Roode with a steel chair. The match was stopped due to Davey's shoulder injury, but it was ruled that the Davey-Roode match would restart later in the show to determine the man advantage in Lethal Lockdown.
-Eric Young vs. Samuel Shaw ended in a no-contest; Shaw threw Young into Ken Anderson at ringside and then took Anderson down in his standing head-and-arm guillotine hold.
-Women's Champion Madison Rayne, O.D.B., & Velvet Sky d. Gail Kim, Lei'D Tapa, & Alpha Female(w/ Chris Sabin) when Velvet pinned Alpha Female after the In Yo' Face(sitout Pedigree).
