WWE NXT

-Commentators:  Tom Phillips & Corey Graves.
-General Manager S. William Regal started the show by hyping the women's battle royal; the winner would get the next shot at Bayley Rose's NXT Women's Title.  After that, Regal introduced Sami Zayn in his return to Full Sail University...after the standard pleasantries, Zayn vowed to become the first two-time NXT Champion.  However, Samoa Joe took issue with that and reminded Sami that he had to save his rear end from Kevin Owens a while back.  Next out was Baron Corbin...he said Zayn should be at the back of the line of contention and he deserved a title shot on the heels of his win over Apollo Crews at Takeover.  Corbin also reminded Joe that he lost to champion Finn Bálor at Takeover and declared himself to be "more durable" than Zayn.  Joe, for his part, reminded Corbin that he choked him out in Brooklyn...then told Zayn to know his place before leaving the ring.  Corbin attacked Zayn from behind, but Zayn turned the tide and knocked Corbin out of the ring with the Helluva Kick.  Joe made a motion to re-enter the ring, but he thought better of it when Sami saw him coming.
-Backstage:  Rich Brennan interviewed Bayley about her title defense against Nia Jax at Takeover; she said she looked forward to seeing who would win the battle royal, then gave Rich a hug to close out the segment.
-Tommaso Ciampa d. Danny Burch with a bridging Fujiwara armbar (3:41).
-Backstage:  Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady vowed that they wouldn't forget about their issues with NXT Tag Team Champions Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder...their options were to win or to learn, and they learned a lot in London.
-Backstage:  Billie Kay, Deonna Purrazzo, and Emma Tayla gave their opinions on why they would be winning the battle royal.
-Backstage in Regal's office:  Regal announced that Zayn vs. Joe vs. Corbin would take place in two weeks with the winner getting the next shot at the NXT Title.
-NXT Tag Team Champions Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder d. The Ascension(Konnor O'Brian & Rick Viktor)(non-title) when Wilder pinned Konnor after the Shatter Machine(Flapjack-into-Codebreaker) (4:17).
-Backstage:  Regal checked with the trainer who wouldn't clear Nia Jax to compete in the battle royal...Eva Marie reassured Nia that she would win the battle royal for the two of them.
-Backstage:  Carmella Van Damme, Peyton Royce, and Alexa Bliss all gave their perspectives on the battle royal.
-"The Drifter" Elias Samson d. Corey Hollis after a snap neckbreaker (2:22).
-Backstage:  Alex Reyes interviewed NXT Champion Finn Bálor about the triple threat match in two weeks.
-Backstage:  More battle royal participants gave comments:  Cameron Lynn, the debuting Aliyah Areebi, Liv Morgan, and Asuka Urai.
-Carmella Van Damme won a women's battle royal to earn the next shot at NXT Women's Champion Bayley Rose.  Eliminations:  Aliyah Areebi by Cameron Lynn, Deonna Purrazzo by Cameron, Liv Morgan and Cameron Lynn by Alexa Bliss, Alexa by Emma Tayla, Emma by Asuka Urai, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce by Asuka.  Asuka thought she had won, but Eva Marie(who had slid under the bottom rope in the early minutes of the match) re-entered the ring to throw out Asuka from behind.  However, Carmella had ALSO rolled over the bottom rope during the bout and she tossed EVA out of the ring from behind for the win (8:00 aired).  Bayley congratulated her friend Carmella after the match.
