Commentators: Tim E.D. & John Johnson.
Billy Buck & Johnny Dangerous vs. Tommy Daniels & C.B. Gibson: Solid opener here...Buck gets the pin on Gibson after the Buck Wild superkick.
Jeff G. Bailey enlightens us with Heavyweight Champion Shaun Tempers, T.V. Champion Bo Newsom, Jacoby Boykins(carrying both Tag Team Title belts), Jagged Edge, and John Johnson in tow. He introduces the newest members of the NWA Elite: The Urban Assault Squad. Shadow Jackson is upset that the fans elected to cheer for the Hate Junkies in their previous feud with the Urban Assault Squad after all the times they fought the "villains" in the company. They pulled a ruse to make people believe the NWA Elite members had attacked Jackson backstage...but we never actually saw that attack take place. Shadow gives a glowing intro to the new General Manager Jerry Palmer. Palmer demands that the entire roster come out to ringside to hear his inaugural edict...he immediately appoints Brent Wiley as the new senior official and declares that all referee decisions will now be final. He announces that Brodie Ray Chase has been reinstated as an active wrestler...so he'll return to action against Jagged Edge. Palmer says that a Tag Title defense was advertised but Se7en & Bryan Cassanova were "given the night off" so it's not happening. NWA Representative Bill Behrens(w/ promoter Franklin Dove) comes out to retort...he reminds Palmer that Azrael & Slim J were guaranteed a tag title shot a few weeks ago so they WILL get it. Tempers was scheduled to have the night off, but Palmer decides that Tempers should defend his North American Title tonight...against Joey Rhymer. Ha ha.
Heavyweight Champion Shaun Tempers(w/ Jeff G. Bailey & Jerry Palmer) vs. Joey Rhymer for the NWA North American Title: Rhymer actually connectes with the swanton bomb for a surprise near-fall, but Tempers declares playtime over and finishes with the Rude Awakening.
Bo Newsom vs. Seth Delay for the T.V. Title, ladder match: Instead of the belt, the brass knuckles are hung above the ring; once the knucks are retrieved, the match can end by pinfall or submission. Delay earned this title shot by winning the Gold Rush Match at Hostile Environment and also got to choose the stipulation. It takes several minutes before the ladder is introduced to the matchup...meanwhile, Johnson refers to Palmer as the Fox News of NWA Anarchy(since he's fair and balanced). To his credit, no NWA Elite members are at ringside for this matchup as it's one-on-one for the moment.
Bo finally goes for the ladder after a major tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, but Seth gets some time to recover and turns the ladder on Newsom. Seth gets really creative with his ladder abuse...but then Newsom uses the ladder to block a plancha off the top rope. Neither man has even attempted to go for the brass knuckles at this point as they're just destroying each other with or without the ladder. Delay tries to monkeyflip the ladder into Newsom but Bo catches it...only for Seth to dropkick the ladder back into his face. Tim E.D. notes the presence of Brent Wiley as the official on the arena floor...uh-oh. Delay gets a bigger ladder that might work better to retrive the knucks...Bo cuts him off at the last second and pulls him off the ladder straight into his over-the-shoulder swinging uranagi finisher!
Newsom throws Delay out of the ring before attempting his climb...Seth re-enters via the top rope and missile-dropkicks him off the ladder! Both ladders are set up with Seth on the taller ladder...they fight on the rungs and Delay delivers a top-LADDER Frankensteiner! Seth tries to jump off the top rope only to get caught in a spinebuster onto the smaller ladder...ow. Bo is able to retrieve the brass knuckles after that, thus prompting Wiley to enter the ring...Bo winds up with the knucks but Seth stops him with a punt to the groin(no-DQ!). Seth gets the knucks and coldcocks Newsom...but Bobby Moore runs in to level Delay with a forearm smash! Not sure about Moore's exact business with Seth Delay, but Moore pulls Newsom on top of Delay and Brent Wiley gladly makes the three-count for Bo to retain his title.
Next week: The NWA Elite vs. Azrael & Slim J for the Tag Team Titles plus Brodie Ray Chase vs. Jagged Edge.
