WWE Raw

-Commentators:  Jerry Lawler & Michael Cole.
-Alberto Del Rio(w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) d. U.S. Champion Santino Marella(non-title) with the cross-armbreaker.
-Brodus Clay(w/ Funkadactyls) vs. Damien Sandow never officially started; Clay was occupied by Vickie Guerrero trying to one-up him in the dancing department, then Sandow just attacked Clay before the bell and left him laying.
-World Champion Sheamus O'Shaunessy d. Daniel Bryan in a non-title street fight after the Brogue Kick.
-Titus O'Neil(w/ Darren Young & Abraham Washington) d. Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston(w/ "R-Truth" Ron Killings) with the Clash Of The Titus after distraction by A.W(who throws a shoe?).
-Randy Orton d. Heath Slater with the RKO.
-Chris Jericho & Christian Cage d. Dolph Ziggler & Intercontinental Champion Mike Mizanin(w/ Vickie Guerrero) when Christian thumbed Miz in the eye(payback for Smackdown) and Jericho finished him with the Codebreaker.  Ziggler hit Jericho from behind with the Money-In-The-Bank briefcase after the match.
-Tyson Kidd d. Lord Tensai(w/ Adeshi Sakamoto) by reversed decision; Tensai initially won after the Baldo Bomb and senton, but Tensai kept attacking Kidd after the match so the ref overturned his initial decision.
-John Cena vs. The Big Show ended in a no-contest; Show threw Cena into WWE Champion C.M. Punk at the broadcast table, so Punk responded by breaking up Cena's F-U attempt on Show in the ring and then kicking Show in the head.  General Manager A.J. Lee had set up the match to determine Punk's SummerSlam challenger, so she made it a triple threat match as a result.

NWA Anarchy #339

Commentators:  Tim E.D. & Bret Wolverton.

Dustin Knight vs. Adrian Hawkins:  Hawkins intends to send a message to Young Lions' Champion Anthony Henry through his former partner...not sure if this even qualifies as a match as Hawkins immediately cheapshots Knight and takes him down into the Sharpshooter.  It looks like a quickie submission, but Adrian won't release the hold and the referee reverses the decision...not that it matters to Mr. Hawkins.

Joey Rhymer vs. Brandon Parker:  Rhymer gets some good early near-falls but Parker cuts off his momentum in a hurry.  The underdog has one of his most competitive showings to date...but makes the mistake of going to the second rope and gets yanked to the mat by his leg.  Parker finishes with an elevated cradle DDT.

Seth Delay & Johnny Dangerous vs. Bobby Moore & Andrew Pendleton III:  The fans have taken to singing the entire Barney theme song to antagonize the purple-clad Moore...Delay doesn't help Moore's state of mind by bringing a Barney doll into the ring and attempting to tag Barney into the match.  This match is a pseudo-preview of the four-way Gold Rush Match at Hostile Environment as all but Moore are in that match...Moore will be in a bunkhouse match with Billy Buck.  Solid formula tag match...Seth gets a hot tag and cleans house only to be cut off by Moore...Dangerous takes out Pendleton with a missile dropkick and then dives onto Moore with a plancha off the top rope.  Delay goes to the top to finish but Mike Posey(the fourth man in the aforementioned Gold Rush Match) runs out and shoves Seth to the mat!  Referee Brent Wiley(dun dun DUN) was looking at the pileup on the floor and missed the interference, but he does see Pendleton hit an STO on Delay for the three-count.  Dangerous tries to avenge his partner's defeat but he's outnumbered and gets dumped to the floor.  AP3 celebrates...but Posey nails him with a low blow!  It's every man for himself in the Gold Rush match...Delay winds up with the brass knuckles but Posey bails out of the ring.  A dazed Moore re-enters the ring...so Seth decides to get SOME mileage out of those knucks for the evening.

Kameron Kade vs. John Skyler:  I believe this is Kade's NWA Anarchy debut.  Wolverton notes that it's easier to scout opponents in the era of social media and Youtube...Back In The Day(tm), you have to study videotapes or wrestling magazines.  Kade nearly scores the upset with a Northern Lights suplex, but Skyler lures him to the side of the ring and snaps the throat off the top rope.  Slingshot spear(called the "Love Gun" by Wolverton)...gets two.  Sliced Bread #2 is blocked and Kade hits a Blue Thunder Bomb...for two.  Skyler backflips out of another Blue Thunder Bomb attempt and thumbs him in the eye, then does hit the Sliced Bread #2(which Wolverton dubs the "Spoiler Alert") for the victory.

The NWA Elite(T.V. Champion Bo Newsom & Jacoby Boykins)(w/ Jerry Palmer) vs. Azrael & Slim J(w/ Brodie Ray Chase):  Palmer notes that this is NOT a Tag Team Title match, saying Azrael & Slim J don't deserve a shot.  However, Palmer says that they will get a shot if they win tonight...Palmer is fully expecting to be General Manager so he can make that ruling, of course.  Yeah, we're REALLY stretching the Freebird Rule these days...Se7en & Lane Vasser won the belts, but Vasser's out of the picture so the belts have been regularly defended by Se7en and Bryan Cassanova.  Tonight, though, BOTH Se7en & Cassanova are MIA...yet we still have to clarify that the belts aren't on the line in a match where neither "official" Tag Champ is participating.  Given their violent and bloody past, Azrael & Slim J actually work pretty well as a team.  Slim J takes some serious abuse and Azrael has to break up a pin attempt after Boykins' trademark powerslam.  Azrael finally tags into the match but the numbers quickly catch up to him...but Slim J blind-tags back into the match and nails Newsom with the flying inverted DDT off the top rope!  Azrael takes out Boykins with a flying boot as J covers Newsom for a near-fall so close that it even fooled the timekeeper and sound guy!  The ref waves it off and Slim hits the Screwdriver On The Rocks on Bo, but Boykins quickly breaks up that pin attempt...Azrael and Slim double-team Boykins out of the matchup as a result.  Newsom is left on his own and is subjected to a unique double-team Widow's Peak, followed by a double-team inverted DDT(with Azrael holding the legs as Slim J delivers the move)!  Yeah, I should HOPE that's enough to keep Bo down for Slim's pin cover.

THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN CORNELIA...they come back on and Jagged Edge is in the ring...but so is Mikael Judas!  The powerhouses have the big staredown and Judas draws the proverbial line in the sand, then shrugs off Jagged Edge's assault as the show fades out...

ROH + SICW

ROH TV

-Commentators:  Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness.
-Rhino(w/ Truth Martini) d. Rocco Abruzzi with the Gore.
-Tommaso Ciampa dragged The Embassy out to the ring before the match and both Truth Martini and Evans blamed Prince Nana for Ciampa's recent troubles...that earned Nana an Air Raid Crash from Ciampa.
-Tommaso Ciampa(w/ R.D. Evans) d. Mike Sydal with Project Ciampa.
-Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas interrupted the victory promo by The All Night Express(new Tag Team Champions)...it looked like Benjamin & Haas would leave peacefully, but then they destroyed the new champs with a chair and laid out security officers and referees as well.
-Adam Cole d. Roderick Strong(w/ Truth Martini & Michael Elgin) with the Florida Key(crossed-arm German suplex) to win the T.V. Title.
-Next week:  Lance Storm vs. Mike Bennett plus Briscoe Brothers vs. Guardians Of Truth.

SICW Wrestling Explosion

-Commentator:  Larry Matysik.
-Classic Champion Ricky Cruz & Gary Jackson d. Dave Vaughn & Ken Kasa(w/ Travis Cook) by DQ when the referee caught Kasa with a chair that Jackson had thrown to him.  The match featured a scary moment when Cruz took a bad spill to the floor after the top rope snapped loose...yikes.
-Flashback to May 1981:  Ric Flair d. Pat O'Connor by countout after breaking out of a sleeperhold on the floor by ramming him backwards into the ringpost, then disabling him with the figure-four leglock before beating the twenty-count back into the ring.
-Next week:  Sean Vincent vs. Ron Powers.

-Ryback d. Jinder Mahal by countout when Mahal walked away from the match.
-World Champion Sheamus O'Shaunessy d. Midweek wrestling

TNA XPlosion

Commentators:  Jeremy Borash & Pat Kenney.

Tag Team Champion Christopher Daniels vs. Robbie Eckos(w/ Robbie Terry), Bound For Glory Series:  So who's the face in THIS matchup?  They try to one-up each other in the cheapshot department...I think Daniels may have the experience edge there.  Daniels goes for the Flair Pin with feet on the ropes but Robbie T swats his feet down.  Robbie E tries for his OWN cheap rollup with feet on the ropes(and Terry holding his feet there) but the referee catches Terry in the act.  Robbie argues with the ref and Daniels catches him with a uranagi...then nails the Best Moonsault Ever for the win and seven points.

WWE NXT6

Commentators:  Byron Saxton, S. William Regal, & Jim Ross.  Ring announcer:  Chris Russo.

Derrick Bateman & Bo Dallas vs. Johnny Curtis & Michael McGillicutty:  Regal heaps praise on the Curtis/McGillicutty duo...they have looked impressive in previous outings as a team.  Bo chases McGillicutty around the ring and is smart enough to cut off Curtis' attempted cheapshot, but he falls prey to a baseball slide by McGillicutty.  Dallas finally fights out of the predicament to make a tag to Bateman...the house is on fire!  He hits the flippy neckbreaker on Curtis but McGillicutty breaks up the pin attempt which brings in Bo.  The ref gets occupied with Bo and Curtis shoves Bateman away from a finisher attempt(I think the official name for that bulldog/DDT-ish maneuver is the "Sweet Meat Sizzler").  McGillicutty trips up Bateman and Curtis capitalizes...KICK WHAM FALCON ARROW and Curtis pins Derrick for the victory.

Alex Riley vs. Antonio Cesaro(w/ Aksana Raudoniene):  J.R. joins Byron & Regal in the broadcast booth for the remainder of the show...these two had a backstage altercation last week that led to this matchup.  Riley gains an early advantage but Cesaro cuts him off with an old-school Stungun.  Riley briefly fires up with a few quick pinning combinations, but Cesaro cuts him off with a knee to the gut.  Cesaro ties him up in some unique holds but Riley fights out with a backdrop...cue the comeback!  He goes for the Final Score(TKO) but Cesaro fights out, then Aksana distracts Riley and Cesaro plants him with the rushing spinebuster.  One Neutralizer later, Cesaro gets the three-count.

Briley Pierce still works here and he does a backstage interview with Kassius Ohno...that beard is getting quite formidable.

Matt Striker does a backstage interview with Drew McIntyre...has his time passed?  Drew says the time for talking is over...

Sofia Cortez vs. Natalya Neidhart:  Sofia is a bit more fan-friendly this time around.  YAY WRESTLING~!  Byron wonders if Natalya is taking Sofia lightly...wouldn't be a good idea as Sofia outmaneuvers her a few times in the early going.  Despite that, Nattie takes her down with an early discus lariat for a near-fall...then gets a surfboard hold with some hair-yanking for good measure.  Sofia tries to mount a comeback but Natalya gets a unique double-leg pin for two.  Sofia comes back with a rollup...for two.  Nattie gets an O'Connor Roll...for two.  The kickout sends Natalya completely out of the ring...and she decides to stay on the floor for whatever reason, giving Sofia a countout win!  Sofia invites Natalya back into the ring for more, but she quickly regrets that decision as Natalya beats her down and locks her in the Sharpshooter!

Dante Dash & Garrett Dylan vs. The Ascension(Conor O'Brian & Kenneth Cameron):  Dylan is the son of actor Kris Kristofferson.  O'Brien swats Dylan off the apron right away, leaving Dante to take the brunt of the punishment.  It doesn't take long for the Ascension to finish this matchup and they have a new double-team finisher for the occasion:  TOTAL ELIMINATION~!  Conor easily pins Dash after that.

Coming to NXT6 next week:  Big E Langston.

Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre:  YAY WRESTLING~!  Seth sends Drew to the floor with a pair of dropkicks, then follows him out with a major suicide dive.  McIntyre fights back but Rollins rams him back into the corner to stop a Future Shock attempt.  Mutual clotheslines leave both men down...who can capitalize?  Drew nips up to his feet, but so does Seth...sounds like a rally to me.  A corner Flatliner doesn't seem to do either man any favors as Rollins may have hit the back of his own head on the turnbuckles...but he still blocks another Future Shock attempt and gets a jackknife cradle...for two.  Rollup puts Drew in position for Avada Kedavra...but he only scores a glancing blow and gets 2 1/2 as a result.  Third floor...he misses the Phoenix Splash but rolls through to his feet...only to run into IT'S THE BIG FOOT from McIntyre.  The third time is the charm for the Future Shock as Drew finally hits his finisher for the hard-fought victory!

Next week:  General Manager Dusty Rhodes has a Major Announcement(tm) plus Big E Langston makes his NXT debut.

WWE Superstars.com

Commentators:  Josh Mathews, Matt Striker, & Scott Stanford.

Sin Cara vs. Drew McIntyre:  Hey, we just had this match LAST week.  Cara flippies into an advantage, but Drew catches a plancha attempt and gives him a shoulderbreaker into the ring frame...OW.  McIntyre targets the arm to control the pace...this severely limits Cara's attempts to fight back.  Cara tries a flying rana off the second rope and Drew blocks for a turnbuckle powerbomb...for two.  Cara finally tilt-a-whirls into a DDT out of nowhere(that won him the match last week)...but this time it only gets two.  Cara still goes into comeback mode and maneuvers into a Billy Kidman-style facebuster...for two.  Cara tries to springboard off the second rope but gets dropkicked out of the air...for two.  McIntyre is frustrated and sets up for a powerbomb...but Sin Cara counters into a snap rana pin for the quick three-count!

Have never seen No Holds Barred in its entirety, so yes, I saw the commercial and said "Hey, Stan Hansen".

Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel vs. Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins:  This was taped in St. Louis, yes.  YAY TAG TEAM WRESTLING~!  Reks & Hawkins have more experience as a unit and they're able to isolate Gabriel for a little while.  Gabriel tilt-a-whirls into an Eye Of The Hurricane on Reks out of nowhere...hot tag to Tyson Kidd!  Educated feet fly and Kidd pulls down the rope for Gabriel's somersault plancha on Hawkins...then Kidd nails the Buff Blockbuster on Reks for the win!

Zack Ryder vs. Michael McGillicutty:  Stanford wonders if Ryder's "Internet Championship" is on the line...seriously, anything on the Internet is worthless, AMIRIGHT?  Stanford says McGillicutty has his eye on the U.S. Title...between that and Heath Slater's interest in the belt, it doesn't say much for that particular championship's status.  Fine matchup between these two...Ryder nicely counters a suplex by landing on his feet and hitting a neckbreaker.  Cue the rally, Broski Boot included, but McGillicutty reverses into a Saito Suplex...for two.  Superplex is set up but Ryder fights MM off, then hits the Rough Ryder off the second rope for the win!

TNA Impact

Commentators:  Mike Tenay & Taz.

Gail Kim & Madison Rayne d. Mickie James & Tara Varon.  Mickie appeared to have Madison pinned with a bridging O'Connor Roll(even making sure to get a shoulder off the mat during the pin attempt)...however, referee Earl Hebner(recently kissed by Madison) still counted Mickie's shoulders down and awarded the fall to Madison(I guess Rayne got a shoulder up?).

Douglas Williams d. Sam Shaw via Chaos Theory; there was a slight disturbance in the audience as Joey Ryan caused a ruckus and agent Al Snow chased him off.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. made his debut appearance for TNA...but Kid Kash & Phil Gunner tried to ruin the party by trashing his family.  The insults went too far and Chavo belted Kash, sparking a double-team attack until Shawn Hernandez made the save to help Chavo clear the ring.

Bound For Glory Series:  James Storm vs. A.J. Styles ended in a no-contest when the Aces & 8s attacked Styles...they did NOT attack Storm, lending credence to Bobby Roode's theory earlier in the night that Storm was the mastermind behind the group.

Shiima Xion d. Kenny King(chosen by Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries out of a field including Sonjay Dutt, Dakota Darsow, and Rashad Cameron) to retain the X-Division Title; King had control but Bobby Roode attacked King at ringside.  That allowed Xion to capitalize with a moonsault off the middle turnbuckle for the win...and that brought out Aries to brawl with Roode.

Bound For Glory Series:  Kurt Angle d. Bully Ray after the second Olympic Slam of the match.  The Aces & 8s attacked Kurt after the match...Kurt got some help from Aries, Sting, and A.J., but then James Storm hit the ring and the masked men conveniently backed off.  Hmm...

Comedy Part 468: Wednesday Showcase

Location: Westport Funny Bone
Emcee: Sean O'Brien
After: Matt Conty
Before: Jeremy Essig

Was invited by Donna Dierker to perform at her 50th birthday show at the Funny Bone...most tremendous. Was part of a solid lineup that also included Ryan Ries, Steve Poggi, Andrew Topping, and Kevin Bunetic...Kevin and Matt's respective hairstyles are approaching epic levels of poofiness, I must say. Don't know if I was at my best...didn't prepare as well as I should have and had some rough moments. I have been thinking about taking a break from comedy for a bit...I've only been going to the Funny Bone open-mic shows anyway. Still thinking about the best course of action in that regard, especially since I've got a lot of other life stuff on my mind these days...

MECW Special Comment

It was a tough weekend for MECW...several wrestlers had travel problems and a few more were booked elsewhere(AAPW, SICW, Metro Pro), leaving them severely short-handed on this night.  They had a total of eight active wrestlers for the show and did four matches total with three guys working twice.

Shorty Biggs & Chris Logan won the Tag Team Titles at last month's show, but neither man was at this event.  Not sure why Shorty wasn't there, but Logan had a recent death in his family.

Had never seen Bazooka before...he seemed okay from what I saw of him.

Justin Reno had a legitimate beef against Bailey Mannix since he WAS screwed out of the title by Bailey's biased officiating...however, they seem to have common enemies now.

Always cringe when a guy with past injury issues takes a major beating...that was the case during Kharfu's chair beatdown of Brandon Aarons.

Lends some intrigue when heel-turning wrestlers have a legitimate gripe...Santel and McDarby really DIDN'T get many opportunities at the Heavyweight Title.

The opener wasn't that great but the other three matches were solid...they were just in a rough spot when it came to wrestler availability.  Hopefully the next show will work out a bit better for them.

Nothing in my immediate area next week...will need to check up on the August schedule.

WWE Raw 1000 in St. Louis, MO

Taped for Superstars.com:
-Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel d. Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins.
-Zack Ryder d. Michael McGillicutty.

Live show:
Commentators:  Jerry Lawler & Michael Cole.

Vince McMahon introduced DeGeneration X to start the show...we got Shawn Michaels and Triple H but also X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws!  Damien Sandow interrupted to protest the debauchery and ate a superkick and Pedigree.

World Champion Sheamus O'Shaunessy, Rey Misterio Jr., & Sin Cara d. Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, & Alberto Del Rio(w/ Vickie Guerrero & Ricardo Rodriguez) when Dolph gave his own partner Jericho a cheapshot, allowing Sheamus to finish off Jericho with the Brogue Kick.  Jim Ross did commentary for the match.

Cameos during a backstage segment with Women's Champion Layla El & A.J. Lee:  Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Mae Young(w/ her "son", a guy in a hand costume).

Brodus Clay(w/ Funkadactyls & Dude Love) d. Jack Swagger with the big splash.  Dude Love took out Swagger with a tie-dyed Mr. Socko after the match.

HHH hangs out with Trish Stratus backstage...the rest of the DX members get the wrong idea from her attempts to teach him yoga.

The Reverend Slick(JIVE SOUL BRO~!) presides over the Daniel Bryan/A.J. Lee wedding ceremony...but apparently Vince McMahon made her a business proposal and she's the new General Manager!  So A.J. leaves him at the proverbial altar...aww.

WWE Champion C.M. Punk was quick to rub the wedding failure in Bryan's face, but FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO ST. LOUIS~!  It turns out he has a WWE Title shot at the Royal Rumble(wow, that's long-term planning)...both Punk and Bryan seemed to think they would be in that spot at that time.  Bryan wouldn't stop interjecting himself into the conversation and finally took a Rock Bottom.

Mike Mizanin d. Christian Cage with the Skull-Crushing Finale to win the Intercontinental Title; Bret Hart was the special guest ring announcer.

Triple H called out Brock Lesnar but got Paul Heyman instead...the war of words brought family into things and that brought out Stephanie McMahon to confront Heyman.  Stephanie finally incited Heyman into accepting the SummerSlam match on Brock's behalf...but he kept running his mouth and she finally attacked him.  That brought out Lesnar, sparking a brief fight with H that ended with H clotheslining Brock out of the ring.

Lita d. Heath Slater in a no-countout-no-DQ match with some assistance from the APA and a bunch of legends(including Vader, Sid, Sgt. Slaughter, Animal, Doink, and Bob Backlund).  The legends kept Heath from running away and Lita delivered a Twist Of Fate, then Bradshaw delivered the LARIATOOOOO~! and Lita finished with the moonsault.

Sean Mooney~! did a quickie backstage interview with Daniel Bryan...he's not happy with Charlie Sheen(who's been Skype-ing his reactions to the show).

Kane's matchup never happened as several wrestlers(Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Hunico, Donny Camacho, Tyler Reks, & Curt Hawkins) attempted to take their TV time by force...BONG.  Enter The Undertaker.  The Brothers Of Destructions cleaned house...Hunico and Hawkins were the unlucky recipients of stereo chokeslams and stereo Tombstones.

John Cena d. C.M. Punk by DQ; Punk retained the WWE Title.  The referee was knocked down and Cena appeared to have the match won after the F-U but there was no official to make the count.  The Big Show ran into the ring to spear Cena and PUNCH him out.  Punk reluctantly revived the ref and went for the delayed cover but Cena kicked out at two.  Punk picked up Cena for the Go 2 Sleep but Cena countered and took him down into the STF...only for Show to re-enter and attack Cena for the disqualification.  The Rock made the save and gave Show the spinebuster, then set up for the People's Elbow...but Punk cut him off with a clothesline and then gave him the Go 2 Sleep!

NWA Anarchy TV #338

NWA Anarchy TV #338

Commentators:  Tim E.D. & Bret Wolverton.

Wolverton interviews promoter Franklin Dove & Commissioner Brodie Ray Chase to start the show...Brodie accepts the NWA Elite's challenge from last week.  Brodie says he has a team ready...Azrael, Slim J, Nemesis, and the Hate Junkies.  Chase assures Dove that he has a sixth man in the wings...Franklin hopes it isn't Brodie himself.  Is it Shadow Jackson?  We see some video footage of Nemesis meeting with his Urban Assault Squad partner...Shadow feels like he's ready to return, but he's still concerned about his well-being as it relates to his family.  Nemesis tells his partner to come back only when he's truly ready...so it won't be Shadow at Hostile Environment.  Chase promises that he will deliver the sixth member of his team and it'll be a nice little surprise for the Elite...

Dany Only vs. Jacoby Boykins:  Only is flying solo without his Hate Junkie tag partner Stryknyn on this night...he's at a severe power and size disadvantage against the Alabama Ambassador.  Only tries to go aerial but gets caught in a huge spinebuster...Boykins actually pulls Only up from the pin cover to dish out more punishment.  However, that comes back to bite him as Only small-packages him for the surprise pinfall!  THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN CORNELIA and the mysterious huge newcomer to the Elite appears in the ring to lay out Only with a running powerslam.  Jerry Palmer arrives to applaud the efforts of his newest ally...

Skirra Corvus vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Mike Posey vs. Corey Hollis, four-way dance Gold Rush Qualifier:  Posey lets everyone know that he isn't happy with wrestling three opponents instead of just one.  Posey says that if he wins the Gold Rush Match, he wants a match with promoter Franklin Dove instead of a championship opportunity...okay.  Alexander has made a few appearances in Ring Of Honor recently...also, Posey & Hollis have been regular tag partners in the past(Rave Approved).  Johnny Dangerous, Andrew Pendleton III, and Seth Delay have already qualified for the Gold Rush Match and this match will decide the final participant in that matchup.  Three wrestlers end up on the floor and Alexander picks up the proverbial 7-10 split with a huge somersault plancha!

Posey & Hollis double up on Alexander after Posey disposes of Corvus on the floor...but Alexander finally rallies against the Rave Approved duo.  Posey & Hollis keep saving each other from elimination as Corvus finally gets back into the fray...out of nowhere, Hollis levels Alexander with a spinning elbow strike and pins him!  Corvus springboards into a double clothesline on both Posey & Hollis, but the numbers quickly catch up to him as well.  Corvus finally fights out of a double-team maneuver and goes on offense...he teases a Graveyard Shift on Posey but Hollis stops that with an Olympic Slam.  They set up for another double-team move but Corvus catapults Hollis into Posey on the turnbuckles!  Corvus delivers the Graveyard Shift on Hollis and pins him...but Posey comes off the top rope with the guillotine legdrop before Corvus can get up from his pin cover!  Posey quickly covers Corvus for the three-count and he advances to the Gold Rush Match.

Jacob Ashworth vs. Tommy Daniels(w/ C.B. Gibson):  Daniels wastes no time in attacking Ashworth...sorry, no sale.  Ashworth controls a lot of the match, but Daniels finally gets a sustained advantage after dropkicking the knee.  FOOT DDT~!  Ashworth finally delivers a back suplex to gain some momentum, but pauses to swat Gibson off the apron.  Gibson keeps making a nuisance of himself and the referee somehow misses this interference, allowing Daniels to get the cheap rollup win with a handful of tights.  Ashworth mows down Daniels & Gibson with a double clothesline after the match, but Daniels clips the knee to cut him off...finally Skirra Corvus arrives to make the save.

Bo Newsom(w/ Jerry Palmer) vs. Nemesis for the T.V. Title:  Palmer enlightens us before the match...he identifies the Elite's newest monster as "Jagged Edge".  Nemesis overpowers Bo in the early minutes of the match...Newsom finally snaps his throat off the top rope to gain an opening.  Palmer gets in a cheapshot or two behind the referee's back...why not?  Nemesis finally mounts a comeback, delivering a barrel-roll into the corner and then a senton...but he can't make an immediate pin cover and Newsom kicks out of the pin at 2 1/2.  The two trade chops but Bo surprises him with a spinebuster...HIS delayed cover only gets 2 1/2.  Bo misses a high knee in the corner and Nemesis picks him up for a modified Dominator(!)...he covers and the referee counts three, but he waves it off as Bo got his foot on the bottom rope at the last second.  Oh hey, that's Brent Wiley, what a coincidence!  Bo quickly double-legs him into a Flair Pin with feet on the ropes and the referee doesn't see THAT, so Newsom gets the three-count to retain his title.  Post-match, THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN CORNELIA and Jagged Edge drops Nemesis with a huge chokeslam.  Jagged Edge, Newsom, and Palmer stand over the fallen Nemesis to close the show...

ROH + SICW

ROH TV

-Commentators:  Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness.
-Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole d. Mike Bennett & Brutal Bob Evans(w/ Maria Kanellis) when Cole pinned Evans with a Steamboat Press.  Maria slapped Cole after the match but was attacked by the returning Sara Del Rey.
-Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas d. Fusion D.S.(Damian Dragon & Matt Saigon) when Haas pinned Saigon after the Olympic Slam.
-Kevin Steen(w/ Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino) d. Mike Mondo with the F-Cinq to retain the Heavyweight Title; Steen & Jacobs attacked Mondo after the match but Eddie Kingston returned to ROH to brawl with Steen.
-Next week:  Roderick Strong vs. Adam Cole for the T.V. Title.  In two weeks:  Lance Storm vs. Mike Bennett.

SICW Wrestling Explosion

-Commentator:  Larry Matysik.
-Flashback to January 1982:  Ric Flair d. Dusty Rhodes in a best-of-three-falls match to retain the NWA World Title.  Flair won the first fall with a modified sunset flip after Dusty missed the big elbowdrop.  Dusty won the second fall with the big elbowdrop after slamming Flair off the top rope.  Flair won the third fall after working on Dusty's knee(figure-four included)...Dusty tried to slam him but his knee gave out and Flair fell on top for the three-count.

Saturday MECW Results From Wood River, IL

Mr. K started the show by announcing a few absences from the card:  Tag Team Champion Chris Logan(death in the family) and The Dragons(travel problems).

Joey d. Bazooka after a chokeslam and Vader Bomb in the battle of big masked men.

Heavyweight Champion Eric Allen(without an opponent for the night) threw out an open challenge and got three responses.  Justin Reno returned to MECW intent on getting his title rematch after being screwed out of the belt by Commissioner Bailey Mannix.  Great Plains Champion Mauler McDarby retorted that Reno was handed opportunities as soon as he walked on the door...meanwhile, he(McDarby) had been with the company since day one and could count his Heavyweight Title shots on one hand.  Shawn Santel one-upped McDarby's comment, noting he'd had ZERO Heavyweight Title shots.  Mannix announced a triple threat match with the winner to challenge Allen later in the night.

Great Plains Champion Mauler McDarby vs. Shawn Santel vs. Justin Reno(non-title) ended in a triple countout as all three men brawled outside the ring.  As a result, Mannix said that the Heavyweight Title match later in the night would be a four-corner matchup.

Count Kharfu d. Brandon Aarons by countout after a low blow outside the ring that the referee didn't see; Aarons retained the Independent Title.  Kharfu continued his assault after the match, abusing Aarons at ringside and throwing him into the chairs in the audience before bashing him repeatedly with one of the chairs!

Eric Allen won the four-corner matchup with Great Plains Champion Mauler McDarby, Shawn Santel, and Justin Reno to retain the Heavyweight Title, pinning Santel after a hanging DDT.  Bailey Mannix was the special guest referee for the matchup.  After the match, McDarby and Santel snapped and destroyed everyone in sight:  Allen, Mannix, Reno, and even Mr. K.  Attorney Vern Harlow appeared at ringside and seemed to be applauding the actions of McDarby and Santel, who said they wanted no part of an organization run by Bailey Mannix and walked out the front door...

MMWA Special Comment

Good turnout for MMWA at South Broadway...though traffic was a mess on the Poplar Street Bridge due to construction.

The scheduled main event was Gary Jackson defending the Heavyweight Title in a triple threat match with T.V. Champion Dave Vaughn and Brandon Espinosa...but Espy wasn't at the show.  Due to that development, a pair of mini-tournaments were held to decide who would advance to the triple threat title match later in the night.  Not sure why Vaughn had to re-earn his spot in that match...but re-earn it he did.

It seems to be a lost art in wrestling to sell a finisher after the match...props to Jimmy D for not only doing that but wearing a sling during intermission due to the effects of Vaughn's Fujiwara armbar in the opener.

Pleasant surprise to see Brian James...it had been quite a while since I'd last seen him at a show.  He has worked AAPW, RCW, and LWA in the past among other groups...he's a solid guy and hope to see him stick around.

No sign of the other half of the Tag Team Champions(Chase King) on this show.  LMC had beaten Osborne a time or two in the past but the Battle Royal Champ picked up the win here(and threw LMC over the top rope afterwards, of course).

Didn't get a chance to see the previous match between Ricky Cruz and Ken Kasa at MMWA so it was cool to see it this time around.  Call it a slight preview of the tag match at SICW this coming weekend...oh wait, that's tonight.  I'm a procrastinator...

Wish the tournament had been structured better so we didn't have a heel-vs.-heel match(Vaughn vs. Archer)...

Pretty good promo by Osborne after his loss to Cruz...established motivation and also plugged the second annual King Of St. Louis Cable Tournament in September.  Woo.  A little birdie told me that a long-time Midwest competitor will make his return to action at that show...will wait until there's official word before revealing who it is, though.

Ran into someone at the show that I hadn't seen in a LONG time:  Dan Velten, fka Ryan Ash.  As I always note, he's the guy who introduced me to the local independent wrestling scene.  Good to talk to him...he's doing well these days.

Cruz took a nasty bump to the floor and had to be helped back to the dressing room...hope he's doing okay.  The finish came out of nowhere after a rare ref bump and a false finish with Vaughn using a chain...I suspect this feud MUST CONTINUE~!

Anywho, since I slacked so much on this...tonight is MECW in Wood River and SICW in East Carondelet.  Don't think anyone in the immediate area is running next weekend.

In other local news, Dynamo is doing a "GCW Reunion" show in December...coolness, looking forward to that.

-Damien Sandow d. Zack Ryder with the Iron Lotus.

Midweek wrestling

TNA XPlosion

Commentators:  Jeremy Borash & Pat Kenney.

Brutus Magnus vs. Tag Team Champion Christopher Daniels, Bound For Glory Series:  So who's the face in THIS matchup?  I guess it'd be Magnus by default...minor history as Daniels & Frankie Kazarian won the tag belts from Magnus & Samoa Joe a few months ago.  I could go on for a while about the people who did and didn't rate spots in the BFS Series...Daniels but not Kazarian?  Robbie Eckos?  "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero(who hadn't been around in months) but not Crimson(who was undefeated until fairly recently)?  Magnus catches an aerial move and spinebusters Daniels to the mat, then nicely transitions into a Texas Cloverleaf(submissions = more points!)...Daniels reaches the ropes to escape.  To his credit, Kenney does note Kazarian's absence from ringside(as well as his absence from the BFG Series).  Magnus blocks Angel's Wings and delivers a backdrop...time for the comeback!  Magnus hits his unique vertical suplex variation followed by the elbowdrop off the second rope...for two.  Magnus looks to finish but Daniels hangs onto the ref to escape the Mag Daddy Driver...then slides down the back to get the cheap pin with a rollup and handful of tights.  Seven points!

WWE NXT6

Commentators:  Byron Saxton, S. William Regal, & Jim Ross.  Ring announcer:  Chris Russo.

Tamina Snuka vs. Kaitlyn Bonin:  So who's the heel in this matchup?  Tamina seems more cheerful than Kaitlyn during her entrance...then Kaitlyn stalls a bit and tries to hide behind the ref after taking an early chop.  Kaitlyn takes a few shots at the leg to keep Tamina down, then chokes her on the bottom rope before applying a bodyscissors.  A faceslam duel leaves both ladies down...but it's Tamina who takes advantage and slams Kaitlyn to the mat.  Kaitlyn hangs onto the leg to prevent a climb up the ropes, then hits a Russian Legsweep before locking on a headscissors/armbar combo!  Tamina shows her power by standing up with Kaitlyn on her shoulders, breaking out of the hold with a Samoan Drop.  Now it's time to go to the third floor...the Superfly Splash hits and that's the ballgame.

Coming to NXT6:  Big E Langston.  He's...big.

Percy Watson vs. Jinder Mahal:  Percy looks good early, but Mahal kicks him in the leg and capitalizes with a CRAVATE~! and knees to the head.  Regal comments that John Cena has been a behind-the-scenes mentor to Watson in recent months...interesting.  Jinder targets the back and neck to wear Percy down for his finisher...but Watson cuts him off with a jawbreaker to cue the comeback.  OH YEAH~! Showtime Splash gets two, but Mahal ducks a blind cross-body off the second rope and Percy hits the canvas.  Mahal connects with the high knee and the camel clutch is academic at that point.  The tapout isn't enough for Jinder as he reapplies the hold after the match...finally releasing it before the referee remembers anything about decision reversals.

Richie Steamboat vs. Leo Kruger:  These two had a backstage altercation recently so now they fight...WOO~!  A lot of the new guys have fairly generic music, but I'm digging Leo's new regal-sounding theme.  Regal claims that Kruger's sash was bestowed upon him by Nelson Mandela...okay then.  Leo warns Russo that if something happens to his sash, something's going to happen to him...oh wait, wrong guy.  The opening chop duel goes in Steamboat's favor(shock!)...but Kruger uses a well-placed rollup to send Richie backwards into the lower turnbuckles.  Leo stays on the neck(sleeperhold?) but gets small-packaged...for two.  Kruger spends a lot of time posting and posturing...then pays for it as Richie nails the enzuigiri.  Chops remain on the menu but Leo rolls out of the ring to regroup.  Richie chases him back into the ring and hits a cross-bodyblock, but Leo rolls through the move and gets the cheap pin with feet on the ropes.

Paige Knight vs. Raquel Diaz:  Raquel seems to have invested in one of Abraham Washington's headset microphones.  Paige does get an entrance this week...this makes her second NXT appearance in a row as a face.  Paige hits a nice superkick for a quick two-count...but Diaz stalls in the ropes to slow the momentum.  A modified legsweep by Raquel sends Paige face-first to the mat...then KICK WHAM GORY BOMB ends it.

Aksana Raudoniene flirts with Alex Riley backstage...then immediately changes her tune when Antonio Cesaro enters the picture, saying Riley was making a pass at her.  Sounds like a match for next week.

Justin Gabriel vs. Heath Slater:  Former WWE Tag Team Champions now face each other one-on-one...of course, they've had very different career paths in recent months.  Jim Ross joins the broadcast team for the main event...WOO~!  Regal wonders if there was always an underlying rivalry between the two even in the Nexus days...in fact, they tangled a few times in FCW over the Heavyweight Title.  J.R. astutely notes that Heath is NOT related to Dirty Dick Slater.  Gabriel's aerial game finally backfires in a major way as Slater breaks up a springboard move, causing Gabriel to take a NASTY spill to the ring apron en route to the floor.

The flying neckbreaker only gets a two-count because Gabriel's no clown, or something.  Heath works on the neck and Gabriel tries to return fire from the apron, only to take a swinging neckbreaker through the ropes...for two.  Gabriel finally gets an opening after a missed Stinger Splash...cue the educated feet!  Blue Thunder Bomb...gets two.  Heath counters into a spinebuster...for two.  A reversal sequence ends in an inverted suplex by Slater...for two.  Gabriel goes to the ropes again and gets caught again...hanging neckbreaker!  That somehow only gets 2 1/2.  Heath sets Gabriel back up on the turnbuckles but Justin elbows him to the mat, then kicks him away before Asai-moonsaulting into an inverted DDT!  That's enough for Gabriel to get the hard-fought victory...nicely done.

WWE Superstars.com

Commentators:  Josh Mathews, Scott Stanford, & Matt Striker.

U.S. Champion Santino Marella vs. Jinder Mahal, non-title:  Don't see Jinder's NXT success carrying over to this matchup.  Santino actually shows his technical skill for a little while...keep forgetting about that.  Fairly competitive matchup while it lasts...Santino gets the win with the Cobra.

Alex Riley vs. Cody Rhodes:  Riley throws Cody over the top rope and Cody "skins the cat" back into the ring...only for Riley to clothesline him right back to the floor.  A suplex battle on the apron leads to Cody kicking out Riley's knee, causing Riley to fall rather painfully to the floor.  It's all Rhodes for the next few minutes...he actually tries a full nelson but Riley fights out of the hold.  El Big Comeback ensues...then Riley goes to the top rope but gets dropkicked in mid-move.  Both men are slow to rise but Riley gets a surprise rollup for two.  Riley catches him on his shoulders for an attempted Final Score(TKO) but Cody slides down the back right into position for the Crossrhodes...bam, that'll do it.

Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. Johnny Curtis & Derrick Bateman:  Guess Bateman has nothing better to do than team with his recent rival.  Curtis & Bateman don't get an entrance...bad sign.  They replay the Usos' dance with their father Rikishi Phatu on Raw...yes, but can either of them do the Worm?  An early attempt at teamwork from Curtis & Bateman backfires in comical fashion, but Curtis still throws Jey out of the ring...and Bateman adds a dropkick off the apron for good measure.  These guys do have some experience as a team...they even held the FCW Tag Titles.  Bateman misses an elbowdrop off the second rope, then Curtis misses a guillotine legdrop for good measure...so Jimmy gets the hot tag!  Curtis gets hit with the Umaga Smash but Bateman breaks up the cover.  Jey low-bridges Bateman out, then Jimmy takes out Curtis with the Samoan Drop before finishing him off with the splash off the top.

Sin Cara vs. Drew McIntyre:  Cara takes to the air right away, but an attempted rana off the apron is blocked and McIntyre swings him into the ringside barricade(GCW~!).  Drew slows the pace, giving Striker time to plug his new Twitter account.  Sin Cara FLIPPIES~! his way into a comeback and stuns Drew with a kick from the apron, then hits a slingshot corkscrew splash...for two.  He goes aerial once too often and gets caught in a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker...for two.  McIntyre decides to try out the turnbuckles for size...then finds out why he shouldn't do that as Cara cuts him off.  Drew whiffs on the clothesline off the middle rope and Sin Cara tilt-a-whirls into a mid-air DDT to score the victory!

TNA Impact

Commentators:  Mike Tenay & Taz.

James Storm called out Kurt Angle, but Kurt was attacked backstage by the masked "Aces & Eights" group that laid out Hulk Hogan and Sting last week.

Bound For Glory Series:  Samoa Joe d. "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero with a juji gatame armbar(thanks Taz) out of nowhere.

Bound For Glory Series:  Robbie Eckos(w/ Robbie Terry) d. Jeff Hardy by countout.  Terry interfered repeatedly until Hardy finally snapped and attacked him outside the ring...leading to Robbie E getting the cheap victory after Jeff didn't beat the ten-count.

Bound For Glory Series:  Ken Anderson d. A.J. Styles with a pinning combination out of a reversal sequence.

Bound For Glory Series:  Christopher Daniels d. Rob Van Dam after RVD missed Rolling Thunder and Daniels pinned him with feet on the ropes.

Bound For Glory Series:  Bully Ray d. Brutus Magnus with the Bully Cutter.

Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries d. Bobby Roode(non-title) by DQ when the Aces & Eights attacked Aries.  The commentators had been speculating that Roode was behind the group...but they attacked HIM too.

SLA Special Comment

After the previous balmy outing in Granite City, St. Louis Anarchy found a new air-conditioned venue in Alton, IL.  They had a good line outside the building when I arrived...many of the fans had contributions for the fans-bring-the-weapons match.

In terms of in-ring action, SLA sets the bar very high with their mix of local talent, Texas(ACW) regulars, and national standouts.  They do a good job of catering to their particular audience as the fans were hyped up for most of the show.  "Finisher spam" occurs fairly often on these shows but I don't usually see the audience get burned out on it.  I realize I am becoming an old bitter rasslin fan, but I don't mind that sort of thing for the most part.

Didn't know anything about the two guys in the pre-show match that weren't Alexandre Rudolph.  Aaron Solo is from California(according to his Twitter) and Darren Dean is a trainee of Davey Richards(which I guessed from the kick combo finish).  The post-match events were...unusual.  No idea who the hypnotist manager was(Jacob Dangle?) but it gives Rudolph something to do in SLA.

Bolt Brady was clearly supposed to be the face in the "official" opener, but the fans like Corbin WAY too much...bwahahaha.  Al Canal and his daughter are big Darin Corbin fans.  We got a "Christian Values" chant...wow.

Good of them to acknowledge Mat Fitchett's injury, though this show went even longer due to the multiple talking segments.  The intermission ran fairly long as well due to the beer pong...they ARE never brief(RIP Adam Starr).

Yeah, I'd have to call it an upset that "Mojo Bravado" defeated the Hooligans.  I'd heard rumblings of SLA starting up their own Tag Team Titles so we'll see if that comes to fruition.

Speaking of championships, the scheduled Angel Blue vs. Serenity match for the ACW Joshi Title didn't take place...didn't see either lady at the show.

Johnny Gargano is one of several indy standouts rumored to be headed to WWE Land...if that's the case, good for him.  Have only seen a few of his matches but he's a talented guy from what I have witnessed.  Always cool to see Arik Cannon as well...he's been a regular for SLA in the past year and a half.

Lots of creative weaponry in Childs vs. Gelistico...a toy guitar, a plastic Ghostbusters lunchbox, a log, etc.  A tiki torch broke on impact and a piece of it hit me...ow.  At least two cheese graters were used with the expected results...though the blood didn't flow quite as much as it did in the main event.  Thumbtacks were involved in the finish...bad landing for Evan, who I agree is a bit underrated in these circles.

As the night continued, I almost forgot about Richards-Perkins being on the card.  I joked with friends about whether they had only booked Davey to kick a Crave Case out of Greg Jovi's hands.  :-D

Vega and O'Reilly have fought a few times in the past...they seem to match up well with each other.  Vega's another guy that's kinda underrated and will hopefully get some spotlight on a bigger stage soon.  He's come a long way from being "that guy who teams up with Johnny Vinyl".

Have missed seeing Dingo in the ring...he hasn't been wrestling as much but it sounds like he'll be returning to a more regular schedule in the near future.  Was psyched for the match with A.C.H. as soon as it was announced and it definitely delivered.  Cringed when A.C.H. hit that finishing cradle DDT(immediately thought about Dingo's old neck injury)...he seemed to be okay later.

More buildup to Richards vs. Vega...should be tremendous.  I suspect we'll hear a few "Let's Go Davey" chants.

The main event was insane...lots of plunder used including a few broken tables.  We finally saw a German suplex off the ring apron and through a table(Gerald James being the recipient) and I wasn't in a good spot to see it...AK~!  Both guys bled a ton...it took a few tries to break the final table and Walsh finally resorted to using the turnbuckle hook to get the win.  I don't know if they were trying to turn someone in the equation...but Dorian Victor wasn't too happy with "Gary's Mom" after the match.

At any rate, tremendous show...I believe they said the next event would be in September with Walsh vs. Corbin seemingly set up.  Of course, the weekend wasn't over...to be continued~!

Comedy Part 467: Long Layoff

Location: Westport Funny Bone
Emcee: Kenny Kinds
After: John Venegoni
Before: Greg Buchek

Wasn't originally on the list, but a bunch of audience members came in late so they extended the show. Didn't prepare very well...tried out a couple of new-ish jokes that still need work. First one went over fairly well, the other one did not...the crowd was getting a bit weary at that point in the night(three-hour show!). There's no open-mic next Tuesday because of a special engagement but I may be performing at a show next week Wednesday...more details as they become available. :-D

WWE Raw

-Commentators:  Jerry Lawler & Michael Cole.
-"R-Truth" Ron Killings & Kofi Kingston d. The Prime Time Players(w/ Abraham Washington) to retain the Tag Team Titles; Kofi hit Trouble In Paradise from the apron on Titus, setting up Truth's Paydirt for the win.
-Alberto Del Rio(w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) d. Zack Ryder with the cross-armbreaker.  Alberto continued to attack Ryder after the match but Rey Misterio Jr. returned to make the save.
-Rikishi Phatu d. Heath Slater after the Stinkface and Banzai Drop.  Jimmy & Jey Uso danced with their dad after the match.
-Daniel Bryan & A.J. Lee d. Mike Mizanin & Eve Torres; Eve got A.J. in a small package but Bryan turned it over behind the referee's back and A.J. got the pin.  After the match, Bryan finally tells A.J. that he loves her and proposes for real...he even has a ring this time.  She says YES~!
-Ryback vs. Jack Swagger never officially started as Swagger attacked before the bell...Swagger delivered a Doctor Bomb and Swagger Bomb, but Ryback kicked him away when he went for the anklelock.  Ryback delivered a triple powerbomb(!) before clearing Swagger out of the ring.
-Chris Jericho interrupted a promo by Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero...Ziggler mouthed off to Jericho for a bit too long and ate a Codebreaker as a result.
-Brodus Clay(w/ Funkadactyls) d. J.T.G. with the big splash.
-WWE Champion C.M. Punk d. The Big Show(non-title) by DQ when Show shoved the referee as he was pummeling Punk in the corner.  John Cena saved Punk from a post-match PUNCH and announced he was cashing in his Money-In-The-Bank contract...at Raw 1000 next week.

FCW TV

Commentators:  Jim Ross & Dusty Rhodes.  Ring announcer:  Caylee Turner.

Corey Graves & Jake Carter vs. Mike Dalton & C.J. Parker for the Tag Team Titles:  Dusty refers to someone named "Steven Regal" being in the main event...fire that man.  J.R. turns the tag team experience factor on its head, noting that the champs wouldn't have many Dalton/Parker tag matches to view for scouting purposes.  The challengers look good in the early going...the champs try to double up on Dalton but get sent to the floor by stereo dropkicks.  Stereo planchas hit...sounds like a good time for a commercial break.

A blind tag by Graves allows Carter to attack Parker from behind, finally putting the champs in command of the match.  C.J. escapes that predicament and makes the hot tag to Dalton...the house is on fire!  Dalton cleans house and hits Graves with a Lightning Spiral, but Carter pulls Dalton off the cover.  Parker baseball-slides Carter to take him out of the picture...but Graves catches a spinning heel kick to deliver a big sitout powerbomb!  Graves takes a second to cover...and only gets two.  Now it's Dalton in trouble...but dueling cross-bodyblocks leave both Dalton and Graves down.  Tags are made on both sides and C.J. Parker rallies, clotheslining Graves out of the ring.  He takes out Carter out with a huge jumping side kick and a double-knee in the corner...then a Strongbuster!  C.J. goes to the top rope...and nails the swandive headbutt!  Cover...only gets 2 1/2!  Dalton fends off Graves and Parker calls for the finish, but Carter shoves Parker into Dalton on the turnbuckles!  The referee occupies himself with untangling Dalton from the turnbuckles, allowing the champs to hit their Bottoms-Up finisher(double-team over-the-shoulder powerslam combo)...that gives Carter the three-count over Parker to retain the Tag Titles.

Audrey Marie vs. Paige Knight, no-DQ match:  J.R. jokes that he and Dusty have T-shirts larger than Caylee's dress...heh.  Audrey wastes no time in attacking...lots of hair-pulling(no-DQ!).  Paige takes advantage with her more aggressive style...Audrey fires up, but a missed dropkick puts a halt to that momentum.  Paige brings in a chair(no-DQ!) but Audrey kicks it away, then stands on the chair to stop her from using it...Marie catches Paige with a DDT out of nowhere and that's the ballgame.

S. William Regal vs. Dean Ambrose:  This main event gets a lot of buildup...Ambrose attacked Regal several months ago and the two clashed in the ring with Regal coming out on top.  Since that time, Ambrose continued to antagonize Regal...even adopting Regal's signature knee trembler and Regal Stretch to provoke him into a rematch.  Regal immediately targets the arm(an injury suffered in their previous encounter)...YAY WRESTLING~!  Dean tries to brawl his way into an advantage but Regal counters by getting a hold of the arm again...of course Regal has no problem with exchanging strikes.  Regal motions for Ambrose to get up...Dean responds that Regal would have to take the arm home with him to beat him.  Regal chickenwings him on the mat and Dean bites the arm(!) to escape...that fires up Regal as he delivers an exploder suplex.  The match spills out of the ring and Regal introduces the arm to the steel steps...Dusty notes that Regal hasn't really tried to pin Ambrose yet.  Regal traps the arm between the steps and the ringpost and kicks the steps, then steps on Dean's head as he climbs back up the steps...well done.  Regal responds to the official's protests by informing him that "I KNOW THE RULES!"  As the ref backs Regal off, Ambrose fiddles with one of the turnbuckle pads...

Regal continues his attack on the arm, but Ambrose finally gets a break by ramming him into the ringpost.  Regal is slow to re-enter the ring...meanwhile, Dean rams his own shoulder into the turnbuckle in an attempt to "fix" the damage.  Ambrose roughs up his veteran rival as J.R. notes that Regal has been an indirect mentor of sorts to Ambrose.  Regal still seems to be a bit dazed from the ringpost and Ambrose pummels him in the head...then Dean removes the bottom turnbuckle pad from earlier and knees him backwards into the exposed metal!  Regal is left with a bloody ear as the trainer checks on him...but Dean taunts him to keep fighting and Regal unloads with a forearm smash out of nowhere!  More refs enter the ring to check on BOTH men...the fans chant "let them fight" but the referee finally stops the match.  Ambrose flips out and abuses the referees...then some wrestlers try to restore order and Dean attacks them as well.  Ambrose attacks Regal again and locks him in the Regal Stretch...Dean appears to be lining him up for the knee trembler, but Regal rises slightly and applauds him!  Ambrose obliges and takes out Regal with the knee strike...finally the locker room empties to hold Ambrose back!  Dean breaks away from the crowd in an attempt to attack Regal again, but they finally escort him back to the dressing room...looks like that's how our final episode of FCW TV will end.

So long from the Sunshine State!

-John Cena won a Money-In-The-Bank Ladder Match with The Big Show, Kane, Chris Jericho, and Mike Mizanin.

NWA Anarchy TV #337

Commentators:  Tim E.D. & John Johnson.

Zach Daniels vs. Andrew Pendleton III:  Daniels has a good showing, but experience wins out as AP3 blocks a top-rope move to deliver a modified STO for the win.

Nemesis appears without Shadow Jackson...they play a video of a conversation between the tag partners.  Shadow's concerned about his injury status and mentions that he had trouble picking up his child recently.  Jackson wants to make a comeback...but he wants to be at full strength when he does.

Joey Rhymer vs. Adrian Hawkins:  Rhymer misses the swanton bomb by a mile...that's enough of an opening for Hawkins to lock on the Sharpshooter for the tapout.  Hawkins feels like hanging onto the hold...that brings out Young Lions' Champion Anthony Henry and Hawkins decides he was just leaving.  Henry turns to check on Rhymer and Hawkins clips him from behind...Hawkins attempts the Sharpshooter but Henry escapes the predicament.  Henry goes for his own hold, the Texas Cloverleaf, but Hawkins escapes the ring.

Seth Delay vs. John Skyler, Gold Rush Qualifier:  As a refresher, Johnny Dangerous and Andrew Pendleton III have already qualified for the Gold Rush Match at Hostile Environment...the winner gets a title shot of his choice with the stipulation of his choice.  Skyler takes a page out of the Fit Finlay playbook by pulling up the ring apron to block a baseball slide.  Seth rallies but misses the Macho Elbow...but Skyler's attempt at a move off the turnbuckles gets nothing but a fist to the gut.  Delay scores a few near-falls in a row from different pinning combinations but gets caught with a Flapjack.  Sliced Bread #2 is blocked and Delay hits a version of the old Kool Krusher(leapfrog out of the corner straight into an Edge-O-Matic) for the three-count.

Jeff G. Bailey & Jerry Palmer(w/ NWA Elite) issue a challenge to Commissioner/General Manager Brodie Ray Chase for a twelve-man elimination tag match at Hostile Environment.  Palmer proposes that Brodie put his control of the company on the line in that match...Palmer gains control if the NWA Elite win the match.

Azrael, Slim J, & Nemesis(w/ Dan Wilson) vs. Heavyweight Champion Shaun Tempers, T.V. Champion Bo Newsom, & Jacoby Boykins(w/ Jeff G. Bailey & Jerry Palmer):  Long-time rivals Azrael & Slim J show surprising teamwork to take out both Tempers and Newsom.  Johnson proclaims Boykins to be a former T.V. and Tag Champ since he defended those titles on behalf of other NWA Elite members.  Slim takes a beating but Nemesis finally gets a hot tag and cleans house.  Chaos breaks loose and Boykins pulls Nemesis to ringside, but Azrael boosts J into a springboard plancha onto Boykins and Newsom!  Tempers tries to take advantage, but Azrael springboards off the second rope into a huge forearm shot...and that gets the pin over the Heavyweight Champion!  Tag Team Champion Se7en quickly hits the ring, followed by the Hate Junkies...everyone's brawling!  We're left with Tempers and Azrael in the ring but THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN CORNELIA...they come back on and a mystery man is in the ring, delivering a huge running powerslam on Azrael!  Slim J tries to help and gets powerbombed.  The Junkies get laid out with massive chokeslams.  Nemesis squares off with the newcomer...but he gets a running powerslam a well!  Brodie Ray Chase watches from afar...things just keep going downhill for the Franklin Dove/Brodie Ray Chase administration.

TNA XPlosion

-Commentators:  Jeremy Borash & Pat Kenney.
-Bound For Glory Series:  A.J. Styles d. Robbie Eckos(w/ Robbie Terry) with the Styles Clash.

ROH + SICW

ROH TV

-Commentators:  Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness.
-Michael Elgin d. Fit Finlay with the spiral bomb.  Truth Martini celebrated his protege's win after the match but Elgin still accepted Finlay's handshake.
-Clips:  The Briscoe Brothers d. The Guardians Of Truth(w/ Truth Martini); a Guardian attempted to victory-roll his way out of a Doomsday Device attempt, but Jay blocked the move for his own pinning combination for the win.  The Briscoes nearly gave Martini the Doomsday Device but the Guardians saved their manager from that fate.
-Roderick Strong(w/ Truth Martini) won a three-way dance with Jay Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa(w/ Embassy) to retain the T.V. Title.  Lethal chased Prince Nana into the ring and Nana accidentally clipped Ciampa as he was setting up Strong for Project Ciampa...Strong fell on top for the pinfall to eliminate Ciampa.  Martini hit Lethal with the Book Of Truth as he attempted the Lethal Injection(rope-handspring cutter), giving Strong the opening to finish him off with the Falcon Arrow backbreaker.
-Clips:  Kevin Steen(w/ Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino) d. Davey Richards(w/ Jim Cornette) in an anything-goes match to retain the Heavyweight Title.  Kyle O'Reilly refused to be in Richards' corner as Richards objected to O'Reilly's poor sportsmanship against Adam Cole earlier in the night.  After a ton of plunder and carnage, Steen got the win after the package piledriver.
-Next week:  Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole vs. Mike Bennett & Brutal Bob Evans.

SICW Wrestling Explosion

-Commentator:  Larry Matysik.
-Ricky Cruz fought Gary Jackson to a no-contest to retain the Classic Title after Dave Vaughn & Ken Kasa(w/ Travis Cook) attacked Cruz.

FCW TV 7/8

Commentators:  Chris Russo & Byron Saxton.  Ring announcer:  Caylee Turner.

Richie Steamboat vs. Antonio Cesaro for the FCW 15 Title:  These two had some classic battles over the medallion...on the offhand chance that this match ends in a draw, there will be automatic sudden-death overtime to determine a winner.  Russo mistakenly notes that Steamboat is 3-0 against Cesaro...the first two matches were draws.  The tempo picks up right away...not much of a feeling-out process in this matchup.  They settle into a more technical exchange...ARMDRAGS~!  Cesaro cuts off Steamboat's momentum with the pop-up European uppercut, but Richie rolls out of the ring to avoid the pin attempt.  Cesaro has to throw him back in the ring before covering, only getting a two-count.  Richie rolls out again for a breather and Cesaro has to retrieve him again as we hit the five-minute mark.  Cesaro teases the Neutralizer...Richie backdrops him but Cesaro lands on the apron only to get clotheslined to the floor.  Steamboat goes to the top rope and nails a huge plancha!

Cesaro turns the tide during the commercial break(with the aid of the guardrail, sayeth Russo) and keeps the champion grounded...CRAVATE~!  Richie lands on top of a back suplex attempt...for two.  Backslide...for two.  Cesaro stops him in his tracks with a huge European uppercut...for two.  We hit the ten-minute mark with the score still 0-0...Steamboat dishes out some chops but Cesaro throws him hard into the turnbuckles.  Richie fights back from the apron and goes to the top...Steamboat Press hits but Cesaro rolls through...for 2 1/2!  Cesaro throws him over the top rope...Richie tries to skin-the-cat but Cesaro catches him, resulting in a reversal sequence and a Cesaro pin attempt...for two.  Three minutes to go...Steamboat rallies and hits the Slingblade...for 2 1/2.  Back to the third floor, missile dropkick connects...for 2 1/2.  Steamboat tilt-a-whirls into a DDT...for 2 1/2.  This time it's Cesaro seeking refuge on the floor with two minutes to go...Richie brings him back into the ring but Cesaro again goes to the ropes.  Cesaro snaps the throat off the top rope but he hasn't got much time left...Richie comes up with a victory roll out of nowhere for 2 1/2.  One minute to go...Cesaro ducks a superkick attempt and dumps Richie out of the ring.  Richie re-enters but runs into a deadlift gutwrench suplex...make it a chain of three!  Cover...for 2 1/2.  The time limit expires as Cesaro hits the Neutralizer...but the referee has to officially start the sudden-death overtime period so no pin is counted!

NOW we're into sudden-death...Cesaro goes for another Neutralizer but Steamboat reverses out of the predicament...SUPERKICK and that's the ballgame!

Benicio Salazar vs. Bray Wyatt:  For those keeping score, Salazar is now maskless.  Wyatt enlightens us on the way to the ring.  He loves us but he won't save our world...he'd rather watch it burn.  "Tiiiiime is on my side..."  Wyatt starts off fast with the HUNDRED HAND SLAP~! before simply pummeling Salazar in the corner...he delivers a suplex throw before avalanching Benicio in the corner.  Time for a dance, kiss on the forehead, and the Rapture...1-2-3.  Wyatt even shakes the hand of his dazed opponent after the match...

Women's Champion Raquel Diaz is sporting a platinum-blonde hairstyle...okay.

Aiden English vs. Colin Cassady:  Hey, one of these guys might just win a match!  Cassady definitely has the size advantage...he keeps going for a full nelson but English escapes the predicament on two occasions.  English gets in a few shots but IT'S THE BIG FOOT puts a stop to that.  Cassady finally finishes with the East River Crossing(full nelson slam).

Seth Rollins vs. Bo Dallas vs. Kassius Ohno vs. Leo Kruger for the Heavyweight Title:  All three challengers have opposed Seth in one-on-one competition in recent months...on top of that, Bo and Leo are former titleholders.  As is often noted, the champion doesn't have to be defeated to lose the title in this style of matchup.  Everyone goes for quick pins in the early going, leading to Leo ticking off everyone at once and getting triple-teamed for a short time.  Kruger pulls Ohno to the floor and whips him into the STEEL steps, then Seth baseball-slides Kruger only to take a flurry of offense from Bo.  Bo lines up for the spear but Leo trips him up and crotches him on the ringpost...ow.  In fact, the referee calls for a trainer to check on Bo...he may be out of commission.  Officials help Dallas to the back as Kruger takes control against Rollins(Ohno is still out on the floor)...

Kruger knocks Rollins to the floor but Ohno rejoins the match at that point...then Bo struggles back out to the ring!  Bo cleans house on all three opponents, delivering a bulldog on Kruger and clothesline on Ohno at the same time...then Seth springboards in with a clothesline to take out Dallas!  Now it's the champ's turn to clean house...but Bo levels him with a spear meant for Kruger!  Bo still covers Seth...but Ohno breaks up the pin.  Ohno gets Bo in a CRAVATE~! and turns it into a flippy neckbreaker...then nails Seth with the roaring elbow!  Before Ohno can cover, Kruger gets him in an O'Connor Roll...Bo saves.  Kruger tries to backslide Bo, then smartly turns around as Ohno loads up another roaring elbow, causing Ohno to hit Dallas!  Kruger completes the backslide but Ohno has the presence of mind to break it up!  Ohno takes out Kruger with one more roaring elbow but Rollins just barely breaks up that cover!

Kassius sets up the Ohno Blade on Seth but takes an enzuigiri instead...Rollins delivers two corner forearms on Ohno and tosses him to the floor, then sidesteps Bo's spear attempt to send HIM floorward as well.  Seth goes to the top rope, but Kruger catches him on his shoulders...leading to a reversal sequence that ends in Rollins delivering the Blackout for the win to retain the title!

Next week on the final episode of FCW TV:  S. William Regal vs. Dean Ambrose.  So long from the Sunshine State!
