NWA Anarchy #339

Commentators:  Tim E.D. & Bret Wolverton.

Dustin Knight vs. Adrian Hawkins:  Hawkins intends to send a message to Young Lions' Champion Anthony Henry through his former partner...not sure if this even qualifies as a match as Hawkins immediately cheapshots Knight and takes him down into the Sharpshooter.  It looks like a quickie submission, but Adrian won't release the hold and the referee reverses the decision...not that it matters to Mr. Hawkins.

Joey Rhymer vs. Brandon Parker:  Rhymer gets some good early near-falls but Parker cuts off his momentum in a hurry.  The underdog has one of his most competitive showings to date...but makes the mistake of going to the second rope and gets yanked to the mat by his leg.  Parker finishes with an elevated cradle DDT.

Seth Delay & Johnny Dangerous vs. Bobby Moore & Andrew Pendleton III:  The fans have taken to singing the entire Barney theme song to antagonize the purple-clad Moore...Delay doesn't help Moore's state of mind by bringing a Barney doll into the ring and attempting to tag Barney into the match.  This match is a pseudo-preview of the four-way Gold Rush Match at Hostile Environment as all but Moore are in that match...Moore will be in a bunkhouse match with Billy Buck.  Solid formula tag match...Seth gets a hot tag and cleans house only to be cut off by Moore...Dangerous takes out Pendleton with a missile dropkick and then dives onto Moore with a plancha off the top rope.  Delay goes to the top to finish but Mike Posey(the fourth man in the aforementioned Gold Rush Match) runs out and shoves Seth to the mat!  Referee Brent Wiley(dun dun DUN) was looking at the pileup on the floor and missed the interference, but he does see Pendleton hit an STO on Delay for the three-count.  Dangerous tries to avenge his partner's defeat but he's outnumbered and gets dumped to the floor.  AP3 celebrates...but Posey nails him with a low blow!  It's every man for himself in the Gold Rush match...Delay winds up with the brass knuckles but Posey bails out of the ring.  A dazed Moore re-enters the ring...so Seth decides to get SOME mileage out of those knucks for the evening.

Kameron Kade vs. John Skyler:  I believe this is Kade's NWA Anarchy debut.  Wolverton notes that it's easier to scout opponents in the era of social media and Youtube...Back In The Day(tm), you have to study videotapes or wrestling magazines.  Kade nearly scores the upset with a Northern Lights suplex, but Skyler lures him to the side of the ring and snaps the throat off the top rope.  Slingshot spear(called the "Love Gun" by Wolverton)...gets two.  Sliced Bread #2 is blocked and Kade hits a Blue Thunder Bomb...for two.  Skyler backflips out of another Blue Thunder Bomb attempt and thumbs him in the eye, then does hit the Sliced Bread #2(which Wolverton dubs the "Spoiler Alert") for the victory.

The NWA Elite(T.V. Champion Bo Newsom & Jacoby Boykins)(w/ Jerry Palmer) vs. Azrael & Slim J(w/ Brodie Ray Chase):  Palmer notes that this is NOT a Tag Team Title match, saying Azrael & Slim J don't deserve a shot.  However, Palmer says that they will get a shot if they win tonight...Palmer is fully expecting to be General Manager so he can make that ruling, of course.  Yeah, we're REALLY stretching the Freebird Rule these days...Se7en & Lane Vasser won the belts, but Vasser's out of the picture so the belts have been regularly defended by Se7en and Bryan Cassanova.  Tonight, though, BOTH Se7en & Cassanova are MIA...yet we still have to clarify that the belts aren't on the line in a match where neither "official" Tag Champ is participating.  Given their violent and bloody past, Azrael & Slim J actually work pretty well as a team.  Slim J takes some serious abuse and Azrael has to break up a pin attempt after Boykins' trademark powerslam.  Azrael finally tags into the match but the numbers quickly catch up to him...but Slim J blind-tags back into the match and nails Newsom with the flying inverted DDT off the top rope!  Azrael takes out Boykins with a flying boot as J covers Newsom for a near-fall so close that it even fooled the timekeeper and sound guy!  The ref waves it off and Slim hits the Screwdriver On The Rocks on Bo, but Boykins quickly breaks up that pin attempt...Azrael and Slim double-team Boykins out of the matchup as a result.  Newsom is left on his own and is subjected to a unique double-team Widow's Peak, followed by a double-team inverted DDT(with Azrael holding the legs as Slim J delivers the move)!  Yeah, I should HOPE that's enough to keep Bo down for Slim's pin cover.

THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN CORNELIA...they come back on and Jagged Edge is in the ring...but so is Mikael Judas!  The powerhouses have the big staredown and Judas draws the proverbial line in the sand, then shrugs off Jagged Edge's assault as the show fades out...
