It was a tough weekend for MECW...several wrestlers had travel problems and a few more were booked elsewhere(AAPW, SICW, Metro Pro), leaving them severely short-handed on this night. They had a total of eight active wrestlers for the show and did four matches total with three guys working twice.
Shorty Biggs & Chris Logan won the Tag Team Titles at last month's show, but neither man was at this event. Not sure why Shorty wasn't there, but Logan had a recent death in his family.
Had never seen Bazooka before...he seemed okay from what I saw of him.
Justin Reno had a legitimate beef against Bailey Mannix since he WAS screwed out of the title by Bailey's biased officiating...however, they seem to have common enemies now.
Always cringe when a guy with past injury issues takes a major beating...that was the case during Kharfu's chair beatdown of Brandon Aarons.
Lends some intrigue when heel-turning wrestlers have a legitimate gripe...Santel and McDarby really DIDN'T get many opportunities at the Heavyweight Title.
The opener wasn't that great but the other three matches were solid...they were just in a rough spot when it came to wrestler availability. Hopefully the next show will work out a bit better for them.
Nothing in my immediate area next week...will need to check up on the August schedule.
