-World Champion Mark Henry d. C.M. Punk(n/t) by DQ when Alberto Del Rio sent Ricardo Rodriguez into the ring to attack Henry; Punk had to win to earn a title shot at Alberto. Ricardo took a World's Strongest Slam for his efforts.
-Guest stars for the night: The Muppets.
-Eve Torres won a Halloween costume battle royal; eliminations: Rosa Mendes, Aksana Raudoniene, A.J. Lee, Tamina Snuka, Kaitlyn Bonin, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Alicia Fox, Kelly K, Natalya Neidhart. Women's Champion Beth Phoenix did commentary.
-Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Wade Barrett d. Tag Team Champions Air Boom(n/t) when Barrett pinned Evan Bourne after the Wasteland.
-The Big Show d. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio(n/t) by countering a step-up enzuigiri in the corner with the PUNCH. General Manager Johnny Ace had told Punk that he could only get his title match if Alberto agreed to it, so Punk came down after the match and locked Alberto in the Anaconda Vice until Del Rio said he had his match.
-Santino Marella d. Jack Swagger(w/ Vickie Guerrero); Beaker provided an "energy drink" for Santino, but Santino spit it out...right in Swagger's face. That gave Santino the opening for the rollup pin.
-Zack Ryder d. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler(w/ Vickie Guerrero)(n/t) with the Rough Ryder.
-John Cena d. Mike Mizanin with the STF despite the interference of a "fan" in a Scream mask who turned out to be "R-Truth" Ron Killings in disguise.

NWA Anarchy TV #300
Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.
Steven Walters vs. John Skyler for the T.V. Title: Skyler pulls off a nice transition move as he turns a standard shoulder-to-the-gut-through-the-ropes into a full-fledged slingshot spear. Skyler focuses his attack on the midsection after that(PSYCHOLOGY~!)...the momentum shifts a few times and Skyler nearly wins after a Flying Chuck but Walters kicks out at two. Walters returns fire with a German suplex...for two. Walters blocks Sliced Bread #2 and hits his Codebreaker finisher to retain the title in a hard-fought match.
Billy Buck, Skirra Corvus, & Anthony Henry vs. Gil Quest, Bobby Moore, & J.C. Walker, elimination tag match: Interesting matchup here. Corvus blitzes the opponents with offense in the early going, culminating in a huge top-rope plancha. Graveyard Shift finishes off Quest, but Moore gets a cheap rollup on Corvus to eliminate him as well(a handful of tights may or may not have been involved). Johnson reminds me of the fact that Bobby Moore was in Anarchy before as one-half of the Technicians/Regular Guys. Things settle into a standard tag match after that...Moore & Walker isolate Henry for several minutes. Doesn't look like the Submission Squad's match with Brodie Ray Chase & Johnny Dangerous is making the cut for television airing, sorry to say...Johnson makes reference to the match on commentary though it didn't air. Buck gets a hot tag and cleans house, leveling Walker with the Buck Wild superkick...but Moore takes out Buck with a flying boot and gets the surprise pin. Henry re-enters in grand fashion with a missile dropkick on Moore and rallies, knowing he's in a two-on-one situation. Walker inserts himself by snapping Henry's throat off the top rope, putting Henry in a whole lot of trouble...
Henry gets an opening to deliver a double-stomp from the top rope to Walker's back, leaving both men down...he tries to keep Moore out of the ring, but a double-team backfires and Moore hits Walker with the flying boot by mistake. Henry takes out Walker with a buzzsaw kick and pins him, leaving Moore alone for his side. Nice exchange between the final two ends with Henry hitting a huge brainbuster for the victory.
Shaun Tempers vs. Mikael Judas, no-DQ match for the NWA North American Title: This one spills out of the ring quickly...a fan even holds up a chair and Judas rams Tempers' head into it. Judas chokes Tempers with a camera wire, then sets up for El Crucifijo on the entrance ramp but Bo Newsom runs interference. It's no-DQ so it's essentially a two-on-one situation...that finally gives the champion an edge. It settles back down into a one-on-one matchup with Newsom outside the ring...and Bo passes in a chair for the fun of it. Johnson announces that NWA World Champion Adam Pearce will appear at an Anarchy show in December...goodie. Tempers sets up the chair in the corner and whips Judas into it, but only gets a two-count after that.
Judas gets an opening by snapping Tempers' throat off the top rope, but Newsom goes on the attack to give his buddy a chance to recover. Tempers gets Judas in the cobra clutch but Judas backs him into the corner repeatedly to break free. Judas finally gets some momentum and nails the corner Mafia Kick but Newsom becomes a nuisance once again. Tempers misses a big swing with the chair and Judas gets the weapon, but Newsom stops him from using it..only for Judas to punch the chair back into his face! That takes Bo out of the matchup and Judas finally has Tempers one-on-one...he delivers a blatant stomp to the groin, but suddenly Se7en runs in to nail Judas! Jeff G. Bailey arrives as well...Se7en plants Judas with his version of the chokeslam, then puts Tempers on top of Judas for the three-count!
Bailey enters the ring to threaten his former protege Judas...General Manager J.T. Talent arrives to restore order but Bailey shoves him. Talent grabs Bailey and gets nailed by Se7en who delivers a sitout powerbomb! Talent had to retire due to back problems and that won't do him any favors...and suddenly Judas sits up. He throttles Se7en...but Bailey throws a fireball in Judas' face! Both Judas and Talent are in bad shape, leaving Se7en and Bailey to stand tall...the locker room empties but the damage has been done. Kimo squares off with Se7en but he's done his business for the night...

MMWA Special Comment
Decent-sized crowd for MMWA's debut in Lemay...the fans were kinda quiet for most of the show, though they got into the action by the final two matches.
I only have second-hand information on the Madison Rayne situation...from my understanding, she did arrive in the St. Louis area on the previous evening and spent the night at a local hotel, but checked out early the next morning and flew back home. No idea why she would have done that, but that's what happened from what I was told. I guess it COULD have been a Missouri licensing issue but, in that case, she could have at least appeared at the show...
The house mic wasn't too clear for most of the night so I didn't quite catch the exact reason why Phil E. Blunt "forfeited" his semifinal match to Brandon Espinosa...from what I gathered, it was a way to make amends for screwing up Espy's previous title match with Gary at South Broadway.
I noticed that the brackets were rearranged from the original graphic...if they had followed the original format, it would have been Jackson-Espy in the semifinals with Vaughn-Blunt on the other side. It turned out better this way, as it turned out...hey, card subject to change.
I think the wrestlers who cheated the most were the Lumberjacks(who are faces, by the way)...while Espinosa did get a break via Blunt's forfeit/countout, he ended up in an impromptu T.V. Title match with LMC which he WON CLEANLY. Espy did cheat to win the finals, at any rate.
The tag title match was not exactly a fast-paced opener to set the tone for the night. I didn't see all of what happened in the chaos at the end of the match, but I believe a fan actually grabbed Waco's mask at one point. Big Texan would later refer to an "imposter Waco" screwing him over, for what it's worth.
I guess one could call it a "rookie mistake" for Osborne to pull Espinosa up from a sure pin following a released dragon suplex...Osborne worked face in that match since Espy was the bigger heel for the night but Osborne has been a heel in recent months.
Feel bad for Courageous as he seems to have bad luck with injuries...he tweaked his knee in East Carondelet a few months ago. At this show, he was a bit too close to the ropes when executing his Asai DDT and caught his legs on the ropes coming down. Despite that, he did work his way to the finish shortly thereafter.
Had originally heard that Sean Vincent was cleared to compete, but I would imagine that you don't want to push the issue with any sort of neck problem. Archer did a fine job in his stead...no pun intended, though far be it from anyone in wrestling to misinterpret something(HA!).
The two face/face matches in the tournament didn't have much crowd reaction(Jackson-Hawkins and Jackson-Vaughn). Some hesitation on Vaughn's part on the post-match handshake, though...
Stacey O'Brien has been a heel for her entire MMWA run, but I imagine she would have been the face against Madison Rayne on that night. The match with Jimmy D was actually better than expected, though things were a little rough toward the end.
The tournament final was shorter than expected...Espy teased cashing in his title shot right away but then was all "I had four matches tonight!" and declined. Ha ha.
Next weekend will be MMWA at South Broadway as well as ROH's first Collinsville show in quite a while on Sunday. I heard that Al Snow cancelled his East Carondelet appearance for the 12th...aww. Hated to miss MECW as they've put on good shows lately...I definitely plan to be there for the anniversary show on the 12th as they've got a strong lineup already set.

ROH TV
Your hosts are Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness.
Kyle O'Reilly vs. Roderick Strong(w/ Truth Martini): Strong's issues with Heavyweight Champion Davey Richards now extend to one of Davey's training partners. Martini is not satisfied with the ring introduction and provides his own pre-written intro for Bobby Cruise to read...then joins the broadcast team for the first part of the matchup. Truth hypes the fact that Strong is issuing an open challenge for Final Battle...that rarely ends well for a heel. Fine matchup, as you might expect...Strongbuster only gets a two-count but Roddy immediately goes into the Stronghold from there. O'Reilly barely reaches the ropes...then counters a half-nelson backbreaker into a crucifix pin for a close near-fall. Kyle tilt-a-whirls into a DDT and hangs on for a guillotine vice...Strong is able to maneuver O'Reilly's shoulders to the mat for a near-fall. Strong stuns O'Reilly with a jumping knee strike and a series of forearms, then hits the ropes to nail the Sick Kick(flying boot) and finally score the victory. Post-match, Truth tells O'Reilly to deliver a message to Richards...O'Reilly gets his hands on Martini but that brings out Michael Elgin for a double-team beatdown. Elgin and Strong deliver a killer Alabama Slam/backcracker double-team on O'Reilly...Tony Kozina tries to help but takes a beating as well. Finally Richards himself makes the save...Davey shrugs off a cheapshot from Martini but that distracts him enough for the House Of Truth members to dish out some abuse on the champion. Eddie Edwards joins the party and the American Wolves clean house, leaving Truth cornered in the ring. Security holds off the heels and the Wolves kick Martini clear out of the ring.
Jim Cornette arrives to restore order as Elgin had injured a member of ringside security in the chaos. Some ringsiders chant "We Want Steen" and Cornette goes on a rant about how Kevin Steen is more trouble than he's worth.
Inside Ring Of Honor: The hype is on for Final Battle...who gets the Heavyweight Title shot? The story is that the list of contenders has been narrowed to former champion Eddie Edwards and T.V. Champion Jay Lethal. We'll find out the final decision next week.
Also next week: Tag Team Champions Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander in a non-title "Proving Ground Match". If Coleman & Alexander can win or even manage a time-limit draw with the champs, they earn a title shot.
Alex Silva vs. Tommaso Ciampa(w/ Prince Nana & Ernesto Osiris): Steve Corino joins the broadcast team for this matchup...Ciampa responds to the handshake offer by spitting on Silva's hand...eww. Silva gets more offense than I would have expected...but Ciampa continues his winning streak with the Project Ciampa(powerbomb-into-a-backcracker).
The All Night Express vs. The Briscoe Brothers: The Briscoes won in controversial fashion in the previous encounter between these two teams...this will decide the Tag Team Title challengers for Final Battle. The teams start brawling before we can even get through the ring introductions...the ANX take control and isolate Jay Briscoe in the early going. The momentum swings several times, but a blind tag finally allows the Briscoes to double-team Kenny King. King backdrops out of a Jay-Driller attempt and nails Mark before finally maneuvering into a hot tag to Rhett Titus...the house is on fire! Jay takes a whooping from both members of the All Night Express but Mark gets involved again. The ANX set up for some kind of double-team but Mark again gets involved, stopping Titus from climbing the ropes while Jay plants King with a spinebuster. Jay attempts a top-rope Frankensteiner on Titus but gets dumped face-first onto the turnbuckles...Mark gets involved and hits a huge springboard Diamond Cutter on Rhett. However, Mark gets caught in a springboard Buff Blockbuster from King and then Jay DDTs King! The ANX set up for their powerbomb/Blockbuster combo, but Jay breaks up King's end of it and then dives off the top rope himself to give Mark some extra oomph to counter the powerbomb into a rana pin! Jay subtlely adds a slight assist to Mark's pinning combination out of the referee's line of sight and that's enough for Mark to pin Titus for the victory!

SICW Wrestling Explosion
-Before the scheduled Classic Title matchup, both Gary Jackson and Chris Hargas came out to push for a title shot...Sean Vincent instigated the two into a fight before order was restored.
-Ron Powers(w/ Sean Vincent) d. Dave Vaughn by countout to retain the Classic Title; the two tumbled over the top rope in Powers' efforts to escape the sleeperhold. Powers rammed Vaughn into the ringpost and then piledrove him on the floor before beating the ten-count back into the ring. Powers looked to do more damage after the match but Ricky Cruz arrived to stand between the two.
-Flashback to October 1983: Spike Huber, Dominic DeNucci, & Tom Pritchard d. Tully Blanchard, Killer Karl Kox, & Eric Embry; Huber and Pritchard double-bodyslammed Embry to set up a big splash by DeNucci for the victory.
-Next week: Gary Jackson vs. Mark Sterling.

Saturday MMWA Results From Lemay, MO
-Stacey O'Brien kicked off the show by saying that Madison Rayne had taken a flight back home because she was scared to wrestle her, then issued an open challenge that was answered by Jimmy D.
-The Lumberjacks(w/ Dave Hebner) d. The Big Texan & Tony Raze(w/ Waco) to win the Tag Team Titles; chaos erupted at the end of the match and Abe pinned Raze after hitting him with his own nightstick.
-King Of St. Louis Cable Tournament: T.V. Champion Brandon Espinosa d. Dave Osborne(n/t). Osborne nearly scored the upset after hitting a released dragon suplex, but made the rookie mistake of pulling Espinosa up from the pin to dish out more punishment. Espy was able to recover and hit a flying roundhouse kick off the second rope to notch the victory.
-KOSLC Tournament: Phil E. Blunt(w/ Leo) d. Jr. Heavyweight Champion Johnny Courageous(n/t) after hitting him with Leo's briefcase as the referee was distracted by the parole officer.
-KOSLC Tournament: Battle Royal Champion Dave Vaughn d. Max Archer(substituting for the injured Sean Vincent) with the spear(n/t).
-KOSLC Tournament: Heavyweight Champion Gary Jackson d. Ace Hawkins via Texas Cloverleaf.
-KOSLC Tournament: T.V. Champion Brandon Espinosa d. Phil E. Blunt(w/ Leo) by countout(n/t). I didn't catch the gist of the earlier promo segment with the two(the house microphone wasn't the best) but I think Blunt did it to "apologize" for busting up Espinosa's previous title match with Gary(at the last South Broadway show). Espinosa was fine with getting a free ride to the finals, but received an impromptu challenge...
-Brandon Espinosa d. LaMarcus Clinton with the frog splash to retain the T.V. Title.
-KOSLC Tournament: Heavyweight Champion Gary Jackson d. Battle Royal Champion Dave Vaughn(n/t); Vaughn hit the spear and laid back for the cover, but Jackson crucifixed him for a quick pinfall.
-Stacey O'Brien d. Jimmy D; Jimmy attempted a powerbomb, but Stacey countered the move and fell on top for the three-count.
-KOSLC Tournament: T.V. Champion Brandon Espinosa d. Heavyweight Champion Gary Jackson(n/t); Jackson nearly got him in the Cloverleaf but Espy rolled him up with a handful of tights for the cheap victory.

Superstars & Smackdown
WWE Superstars.com
Your hosts are Jack Korpela, Matt Striker, Josh Mathews, & Scott Stanford.
Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase Jr., non-title: Odd match ordering with this on first and the divas' tag match in the main event slot. Of course, these guys are former Tag Team Champions as part of Legacy but times have changed to say the least. The fight spills out of the ring and Cody goes for a version of his step-up roundhouse kick, but DiBiase dropkicks him in mid-air. Korpela digs into the history books to note the old rivalry between Dusty Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Sr., a feud that included them as team captains at the 1990 Survivor Series. Ted Jr. rallies and gets a near-fall after a flying knee, then another after a modified Skyhigh. DiBiase teases ripping off the protective facemask, but that mini-distraction costs him as Rhodes delivers a quick mask-enhanced headbutt. Cody nails a moonsault press...for two! O'Connor Roll...for two. DiBiase goes for Dream Street out of nowhere but Cody unloads with another mask-enhanced headbutt...that stuns Ted long enough for Cody to hit the Crossrhodes. 1-2-3.
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Jinder Mahal: More competitive than you might think...in other words, competitive. However, the result is still inevitable as Big Zeke wins with the torture rack.
Tag Team Champions Air Boom vs. J.T.G. & Primo Colon, non-title: J.T.G. and Primo are both expert tag team competitors...Primo was a Tag Team Champion with his brother Carlito. Evan Bourne goes aerial against Primo but misses a jumping knee strike and ends up in trouble. Stanford notes that Primo is scouting for a new regular tag team partner...we'll see if that leads anywhere. Primo nearly gets the backcracker but Bourne drops down and victory-rolls his way into a tag to Kofi Kingston! J.T.G. runs interference but it's not enough to stop a springboard cross-body onto Primo...for two. Boom Drop hits but J.T.G. distracts him from a Trouble In Paradise attempt, allowing Primo to get an O'Connor Roll...for two. Kofi maneuvers into the S.O.S. and nails it but J.T.G. breaks up the pin attempt. Bourne gets rid of J.T.G. and stuns Primo with a roundhouse kick from the apron, allowing Kofi to hit the Trouble In Paradise! Tag to Bourne and he finishes the job with the shooting star press...nicely done.
Kelly K & Eve Torres vs. The Bella Twins: They're switching up the women's theme songs a lot lately as Eve has new music. Eve ends up on the wrong side of the ring in short order. I keep track of the twins because one of them usually helpfully shouts out the other's name during a match. The Bellas focus on Eve's arm, but she powers Brie(I think) up into a Samoan Drop before tagging in Kelly. Cue house afire...but Nikki snaps Kelly's throat off the top rope. Eve dropkicks Nikki out of the matchup and Brie goes for the kill, but KICK WHAM K-2(Rocker Dropper) and Kelly gets the pin.
WWE Smackdown
-Your hosts are Josh Mathews, Booker T, & Michael Cole.
-Awesome Truth d. Tag Team Champions Air Boom in a non-title match when "R-Truth" Ron Killings pinned Kofi Kingston after a combination Skull-Crushing Finale/Paydirt double-team.
-Wade Barrett d. Trent Baretta via Wasteland.
-Randy Orton d. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler(w/ Vickie Guerrero) in a non-title match after the RKO; Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes did commentary for the match.
-Daniel Bryan d. Tyson Kidd via LeBell Lock.
-C.M. Punk d. Christian Cage with the Go 2 Sleep; WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez ran interference a few times until Sheamus O'Shaunessy came out to even the odds, leading to Punk hitting his finisher for the victory.

NXT, XPlosion, Impact
WWE NXT5.com
Your hosts are Jack Korpela & S. William Regal, your emcee is Matt Striker.
Striker declares that only two rookies remain, so I guess Darren Young is unofficially eliminated. We're down to Titus O'Neil(w/ Percy Watson) and Derrick Bateman(w/ J.T.G. & Maxine Perez). Bateman cozies up to his girl and Titus settles for the cheap pop RIGHT HERE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS~! Okay, looks like an actual challenge, Talk The Talk...Titus notes that he's wearing pink tights for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shockingly enough, the dueling promo segment goes in favor of the good guy. At any rate, Percy throws a few harsh words in J.T.G.'s direction and gets a fist to the face in response...Striker announces O'Neil vs. Bateman for later as well as our opening match...
Percy Watson vs. J.T.G.: Everyone else is sent to the back as Regal trashes the entire promo segment...heh. J.T.G. takes control, but wastes time on the second rope and leaps off into a jumping facebuster from Percy. OH YEAH~! Showtime Splash only gets a two-count...but he finishes the job with the fireman's-carry Flapjack that Korpela dubs the "Percy-cution".
Jey Uso(w/ Jimmy Uso) vs. Tyson Kidd(w/ Curt Hawkins): The Usos have another new theme song but they still have their war dance entrance. I wish the commentary on Kidd would match his in-ring success as they talk him up all the time but he rarely wins. Haven't seen much of the Usos in singles competition, though Jimmy started off solo in FCW before his brother joined him. Here's an old wrestling fan comment...I wish they'd be consistent about who is and isn't allowed at ringside. Remember manager's licenses? :) Let's shill Twitter! Anywho, good wrestling match ongoing...Jey delivers a nice superkick to the gut and then another to the face, but goes to the top rope instead of going for the pin. Hawkins distracts Jey briefly, but it's enough to give Kidd an opportunity to raise the knees and block the solo Headshrinker Splash. Jimmy goes after Hawkins who begs off("I'm hurt!")...meanwhile, Kidd finishes with the swinging fisherman buster. Kidd teases a post-match Sharpshooter but Jimmy puts a stop to that which brings in Hawkins. Yoshi Tatsu hits the ring and the heels decide to take their leave...
Kaitlyn Bonin & A.J. Lee chat backstage...but another chick has decided to score some of the TV time they're just giving away around here. Hi Tamina!
Kaitlyn Bonin vs. Tamina Snuka: Tamina gets the jobber entrance, sorry to say...she throws a nice superkick, though. Short match...Tamina attempts the Samoan Drop but Kaitlyn slides down the back into a sunset flip pin. Regal puts over Kaitlyn using her leg strength to her advantage in the pinning combination...PSYCHOLOGY~!
Titus O'Neil vs. Derrick Bateman(w/ Maxine Perez): A.J. Lee joins the commentary team...and Maxine decides to grab a headset as well. Korpela asks about the issues between the two and A.J. speculates that Maxine feeds off the souls of babies. The fight briefly spills out of the ring...Bateman dropkicks Titus as he attempts to re-enter and then follows up with the running dropkick off the apron. The argument between the ladies nearly overshadows the action in the ring as Regal tries desperately to get everyone focused on the match. O'Neil makes the mistake of going high-risk and misses a flying shoulderblock off the second rope, allowing Bateman to capitalize with an Oklahoma roll for the flash pin.
Post-match, Bateman celebrates with Maxine in the ring...and Bateman proposes to her. Maxine seems a bit unsure...okay, REALLY unsure as she slaps him...but then they make out. Um, okay. Titus covers A.J.'s eyes at ringside...Bateman claims she said yes and I guess we'll take his word for it.
TNA XPlosion
Your hosts are Jeremy Borash & Taz.
Jesse Sorensen vs. Robbie Eckos(w/ Rob Terry): Robbie E's entrance now involves Terry opening up a velvet rope "entrance" for him, a la MVP's VIP Room. Terry stands in front of Robbie in the corner with his arms crossed, causing Taz to joke that it's gimmick infringement. Sorensen clotheslines Eckos out of the ring, but Terry stops him from pursuing his advantage and Robbie gets in the cheapshot over his bodyguard's shoulder. Jesse attempts his inverted swinging neckbreaker but Terry trips him up to stop him. However, Sorensen is able to maneuver into his finisher closer to the middle of the ring and hits it to pick up the win. Terry enters the ring but Sorensen was just leaving...
TNA Impact
-Rob Van Dam d. Christopher Daniels by DQ when Daniels hit RVD with a toolbox from under the ring. Daniels got a screwdriver out of the toolbox but A.J. Styles(who was doing commentary) ran him off.
-Gail Kim(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett, Traci Brooks, & Madison Rayne) d. Women's Tag Team Champion Tara Varon with the Eat-The-Feet.
-Eric Young d. Robbie Eckos(w/ Rob Terry) via crucifix pin to retain the T.V. Title.
-Jeff Hardy d. Bully Ray with the swanton bomb. Jeff Jarrett attacked Hardy after the match and the heels brought out a table, but Ken Anderson made the save.
-Bobby Roode d. Samoa Joe via Perfectplex to earn the first Heavyweight Title shot at James Storm.

Comedy Part 403: Rain Rain Stay For Now
Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Aaron Brooks
After: Aaron Brooks
Before: Nic Coambs
With World Series Game 6 postponed, we had a decent audience at Etc. Did a lot of the same material as I did on Tuesday night, but the audience wasn't reacting much to my set. Maybe they just weren't "warmed up" yet(I was on first after emcee Aaron) because they got better as the show progressed. Either way, got to try out my newer material. Talked to a few people about new shows starting up in the area...hope to check out some of those venues, but the personal budget is gonna be a bit tighter in the near future...

FCW TV
Your hosts are Matt Martlaro & S. William Regal, your ring announcer is...Howard Finkel!
Roman Leakee vs. Ricardo Rodriguez: Ricardo prefers to do his own ring introduction, gracias muy mucho. Ricardo pulls off a nice turnbuckle-walk into a flying enzuigiri at one point...dude's not just a ring announcer. Ricardo escapes a Samoan Drop attempt, but tries a middle-rope springboard and gets nailed with a Flying Jalapeno in mid-air! That's enough for Leakee to score the pinfall and Finkel is only too happy to announce the winner.
Kaitlyn Bonin & Caylee Turner vs. Naomi Night & Cameron Lynn(w/ Byron Saxton): Even Byron doesn't seem too sure of his girls' attitudes...heh. Regal notes that Saxton's arm injury has lasted quite a while. Kaitlyn yanks Cameron's blond wig off in the early going...Naomi puts a stop to her advantage by throwing her shoulder-first into the ringpost. Saxton's team focuses on the arm, but Kaitlyn is able to tag in Caylee who rallies against Naomi. However, a tripup by Cameron gives Naomi the opening to hit the Nightmare leg lariat for the victory.
Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews Richie Steamboat...he defends his actions, saying he was defending Aksana Raudoniene(even though it's debatable whether she was actually "struck" by Husky Harris off-camera). Aksana arrives and they leave without another word...
Big E Langston vs. Erick Rowan: So who's the face here? Martlaro all but mentions bowling shoes before the match begins. The two slug it out with neither man gaining a clear advantage in the early minutes...but a blind charge by Langston hits ringpost and Rowan takes over. Big E proves to be the more powerful of the two...he raises the knees to block a big splash and then picks up the victory with a huge belly-to-belly suplex.
On The Box w/ Briley Pierce: Briley shows footage from a recent FCW live event where Brad Maddox was punched out by a local mascot...ha ha. The mascot Buddy joins us, but it's actually Brad Maddox in the costume and he doesn't take kindly to being embarrassed. Maddox claims he found the costume with Pierce's belongings and says Briley will actually be wrestling next week...against him.
Mike Dalton vs. Mr. Antonio Cesaro: Haven't seen Dalton in a little while. Cesaro has Dean Malenko's old theme...Regal jokes that he may be the only thing to come out of Switzerland with any aggression. Cesaro uses the CRAVATE~! in honor of his recent tag team partner...Regal adds that his old partner Dave Taylor had a hand in training Claudio. HEYYYYY~! Dalton attempts a leapfrog and Cesaro catches him in mid-air for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker...very impressive. Dalton does manage to get in a few shots, but Cesaro tosses him into the air and blasts him with the pop-up European uppercut! Regal says that uppercut even made HIM jealous. He finishes the job with the RICOLA BOMB~! and Regal refers to it as such...nicely done.
Titus O'Neil & Percy Watson enlighten us...OH YEAH~! They're facing Jinder Mahal & Rick Victor next week in their first FCW outing as a tag team...and they're gunning for tag team gold down the line.
Leo Kruger vs. Husky Harris for the Heavyweight Title: General Manager Maxine Perez is watching the match from the "VIP Section" along with Richie Steamboat and Aksana...the last time Husky encountered them in that area, Steamboat kicked him in the face. Will history repeat itself? The fight quickly spills out of the ring and Husky avalanches Kruger against the ringpost and steps...ow. Leo fires back and attempts a suplex but Husky small-packages him for a quick two-count. After a quick look at Steamboat/Aksana, Regal notes that he would NEVER let a woman influence him...har har. Husky fires back with the Hundred Hand Slap and avalanche, but Kruger fights out of a uranagi and gets the sleeperhold. Husky backs him into the corner to escape, then snapmares him away and hits the uranagi on the second try...for 2 1/2. Leo tries to crawl out of the ring but Husky catches him, causing Leo to pull the ring apron into the ring. Husky knocks Kruger backwards...right into the referee who is trying to fix the apron. Of course, Harris decides it would be a good time to hit his Wave Of The Future finisher and go for the pin...whoops, no one to count. Steamboat comes to ringside to check on the official, putting him back in the ring and getting up on the apron. Husky sees Steamboat and grabs him, but the distraction is enough for Kruger to get the sleeperhold! Leo takes him down with the hold and Husky has no choice but to tap out...the champ retains, but what are Steamboat's motives?
So long from the Sunshine State!
Roman Leakee vs. Ricardo Rodriguez: Ricardo prefers to do his own ring introduction, gracias muy mucho. Ricardo pulls off a nice turnbuckle-walk into a flying enzuigiri at one point...dude's not just a ring announcer.

Comedy Part 402: Dance Your Cares Away
Location: Westport Funny Bone
Emcee: Keith Cissell
After: Joe Lehnig
Before: Tom Shelton
Got a joke idea on Sunday night while I was at the wrestling show at Pop's...and I came up with a great line for the joke on the drive to the Funny Bone last night, so I threw it in. It was a fun crowd and I felt like my set went REALLY well. I've been closing on the Bellevegas joke recently because it seems to work consistently well. I linked the new joke to a previous joke about how I don't fit in at night clubs...I also attached my phone game joke to my smart-phone joke. Segues rule~! Want to check out some of the newer shows in the area to see if I can do longer sets...still trying to balance the job, housework, and sleep schedule though. *is old*

NWA Anarchy TV #299
Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.
C.B. Gibson & Tommy Daniels vs. Davey Vega & Gary Jay(joined in progress): Hey, I know those guys! Of course, Vega and Jay are regulars for St. Louis Anarchy(formerly the Lethal Wrestling Alliance) as well as Anarchy Championship Wrestling in Texas. They only show the closing minute or so of the matchup as Daniels pins Jay after a fisherman buster as Gibson hits an Asai DDT on Vega.
Bo Newsom vs. Jacob Ashworth for the Young Lions' Title: This is a rematch as Newsom won the title from Ashworth a month or two ago. NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers arrives at ringside a few minutes into the matchup and wastes no time getting involved with a well-timed tripup. That brings out Brodie Ray Chase to even the odds a bit...Bo brings out the heavy artillery but Ashworth won't stay down. Bo cuts off a late rally but goes to the top and gets superplexed, leaving both men down. Tempers jumps up on the apron to distract the ref and throws the Temptation For Men cologne into the ring...Chase intercepts it, but the official turns around to see Newsom drop to the mat and scream, holding his eyes. Ha ha...ref DQs Ashworth, Newsom wins and retains his title.
For The Love Of Money vs. The Ambassadors(Jacoby Boykins & Chris Mayne)(w/ John Johnson) for the Tag Team Titles: Well, change of plans...Andrew Pendleton III doesn't appear to be in attendance this evening. Johnson offers Bryan Cassanova the opportunity to forfeit the match peacefully...then slaps him in the face, which doesn't seem like a good idea. Cassanova decks Johnson and immediately gets jumped by the Ambassadors, so it looks like a handicap match...meanwhile, Johnson slowly makes his way back to the broadcast position. Cassanova does his best to fight on his own...to his credit, he survives a great deal of punishment from both opponents. Cassanova fires off a double clothesline out of nowhere, leaving everyone down...suddenly, Slim J's music hits and he runs out to Cassanova's corner! Cassanova tags him into the match and the referee allows it...the house is on fire! We haven't seen Slim J in months...Boykins breaks up a Roach Clip on Mayne just in time, but Cassanova gets his second wind and enters the ring to deliver a TKO on Mayne. The referee is busy with Boykins, but turns around in time to count Slim J's three-count on Mayne! Slim J and Bryan Cassanova are the winners...but what does this mean for the Tag Team Titles? Notably, Cassanova hands Slim J the other title belt after the match and shakes his hand...hmm.
Donnie Steamboat vs. Drew Haskins: Tim E.D. tells Johnson that it was great to see Slim J's triumphant return...Johnson: "I hate you." Pretty sure Donnie is not related to Ricky, but he does ARMDRAGS~! Good outing between two Anarchy newcomers...Steamboat maneuvers into a unique leglock late in the match and Haskins barely reaches the ropes to escape. Haskins cuts off the offensive with a Stungun but Steamboat gets another innovative leglock in response. Haskins begs off a bit and the ref backs Steamboat off, but Haskins was playing possum and delivers a cheapshot. Haskins finishes with a snapmare driver for the victory.
Shadow Jackson vs. Stryknyn(w/ Dan Wilson): Shadow doesn't even wait for the introductions before going to town on Stryknyn...don't see this being a technical classic. Shadow delivers the 1031 Spinebuster in short order and Heavyweight Champion Azrael runs in for the DQ...so much for the big main event. Johnson notes that Nemesis and Dany Only are not in the house...but Kimo makes the save. General Manager J.T. Talent decides to try his hand at matchmaking and orders an impromptu tag team encounter...
Kimo & Shadow Jackson vs. Heavyweight Champion Azrael & Stryknyn(w/ Dan Wilson): Kimo is totally focused on Azrael...ditto for Shadow and Stryknyn. The commentators note that the heels are both aligned with The Reverend so they're more likely to be a solid team. Jackson takes abuse for his side but avoids Azrael's frog splash off the middle rope...tags on both sides! Kimo cleans house and pummels Azrael into the corner, then takes Stryknyn down with some sort of nervehold before tagging Shadow back into the match. Jackson delivers the Stunner but Azrael breaks up the pin, triggering another wild brawl between Azrael and Kimo. Shadow goes for the kill, but Wilson trips up Jackson during a re-entry suplex and holds his foot to give Stryknyn the tainted three-count! Azrael and Kimo re-enter the scene as everyone continues to fight...the locker room empties to restore order but don't do a very good job of it...
Next week: Shaun Tempers vs. Mikael Judas in a no-DQ match for the NWA North American Title.
Azrael and Kimo re-enter the scene as everyone continues to fight...the locker room empties to restore order but don't do a very good job of it...
Next week: Shaun Tempers vs. Mikael Judas in a no-DQ match for the NWA North American Title.

UGW Special Comment
Interesting environment for a show...Pop's had hosted some JCW shows in the past but I hadn't been there very often in the past. The only other time I was at Pop's was when Chris Jericho was there with Fozzy several years ago.
Knew pretty much the entire card ahead of time, amazingly enough...when Mephisto did a promo and complained about arriving to find out he'd be working the opener against two comedy characters, I joked that he didn't see the event flyers. :)
My friend Drew and I had a good lengthy conversation with Gary Jackson...the guy's been in wrestling for almost as long as I've been alive. Cool guy to talk to, hadn't really interacted with him much in the past.
Solid tag match to open the show...kind of a surprise result. It brings to mind the adage about burying your opponents in promos...if you make your opponents out to be nothing and then you lose, what does that make you? Even if you win, what does it mean since you just beat opponents that suck?
Kurt Styles hadn't wrestled in several months, good to see him back in action.
Can't say much about the positioning of the first and second matches without giving away trade secrets...heh. Don't know anything at all about either Sensei Almighty or his entourage.
Gordon Pumpernickle did some post-match interviews...don't know if he has a bigger role in the promotion or not.
Okay, the six-man tag...from the sound of things, the "I.C.U." group was a bunch of backyarders. The three active competitors had close to a dozen people in their corner(including the valet) and apparently most of them are part of their group as well. I honestly don't know the whole situation and the match was fine enough...things broke down at the end when Neil Cutter appeared to have the win(after hitting his Diamond Cutter twice) and the other guys stormed the ring for the DQ. One of the Hooligans looked seriously ticked off and got on the microphone to threaten the promoter over putting them in with "untrained" opponents...I guess it's up for debate whether he should have done that in front of the audience or dealt with it backstage.
A lot of the fans were there for the I.C.U. guys...I had a flashback to times when new open-mic comedians brought a ton of friends who were there JUST to cheer for their friend. The fans were into the show from top to bottom, I will say that...I've seen times where the audience members go out of their way to NOT react positively to anyone else.
Espinosa-Sydal seemed out of place in the nature of the show but it was a good matchup...pretty sure I saw Mike & Matt's dad in attendance(he had a cameo on an episode of The Dirt Sheet way back when).
The main event was as chaotic as you might expect..."Amanda" is apparently a transvestite wrestler, which sucks because you get preoccupied with just LOOKING for signs that this person is...what he/she is, I guess. :) It was a hardcore-style match and I felt like a bitter old wrestling fan in noting that people got up too fast after pretty big moves(like a DDT on the floor and a pumphandle powerbomb onto thumbtacks)...guess that's how I am nowadays.
Okay...I need to check on the November schedule because it's loaded up. MECW has the Ironman Match, SICW has Al Snow, etc. Next weekend is MMWA and MECW, so two good choices for fans in this area...
Elsewhere, WLW had a big show in Eldon with Ricky Steamboat, Kevin Von Erich, and S. William Regal in attendance...Regal even wrestled against the returning Ace Steel. I heard the triple threat Women's Title match with Lucy Mendez(C), Stacey O'Brien, and Ms. Natural was really good. Wish they ran closer to here because, out of the groups that run in the Midwest, I have not yet been to a WLW show.

-Brandon Espinosa d. Mike Sydal; Sydal appeared to have the match won after a superkick and standing moonsault, but referee Dave Hebner stopped to tie his shoe instead of counting the pin. Sydal argued with Hebner and Espy took the opportunity to roll him up with a handful of tights for a fast three-count from Hebner.
-Amanda d. Mickie Knuckles in a hardcore casket match where the two brawled all over the building and used weapons such as mousetraps, thumbtacks, and a large plastic Barbie doll(no, really)...

Comedy Part 401: Late Order
Location: Grove Deli
Emcee: Frankie Chubb
After: Marquise Moore
Before: H.D. Reeves
Last night was a doubleheader of comedy with the traditional weekly show at the Grove Deli followed by J.C. Sibala's show at the Tin Can Tavern. Was planning on just being a spectator but Ben Flug was able to add me to the Deli show since J.C. wasn't going to start until the baseball game wrapped up. As it turned out, the ballgame went longer than expected(are we still underdogs?). Anywho, most of the audience was a singles group that was a bit stingy with the laughs...a few people did well but I don't feel like I did. Oh well...better luck next time, I guess.

Your hosts are Jack Korpela, Matt Striker, Josh Mathews, & Scott Stanford.
Ted DiBiase Jr. vs. Jinder Mahal: One of these guys has to turn his luck around...right? Fine matchup between these two...Dream Street is countered and Mahal connects with a pair of high knees, scoring a close near-fall. DiBiase gets off a dropkick and goes to the top rope, but Mahal crotches him on the turnbuckle and hits the full nelson slam for the upset win. Korpela correctly refers to the finisher as the "Sands Of Time"(v2.0), good for him.
Santino Marella vs. Heath Slater: Hey, Heath can hang out with D-Young and talk about the glory days of the Nexus for a month or so. Stanford goes above and beyond the call of duty, noting that Santino(partner Vladimir Kozlov not mentioned) ended Heath's Tag Team Title reign with Justin Gabriel...CONTINUITY~! Slater has a good showing but badly misses a splash off the top...cue El Big Comeback, punctuated by the Cobra for the victory.
Tag Team Champions Air Boom(Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne) vs. Drew McIntyre & Michael McGillicutty, non-title: Interesting pairing on the heel side...both are former Tag Team Champions with different partners(Cody Rhodes and David Otunga, respectively). Being the dork I am, I also note that both were Tag Champs in FCW(Drew with Wade Barrett, McGillicutty with Heath Slater and Brett DiBiase). Nice double-team by the champs as Bourne hangs Drew up on the ropes for a top-rope double-stomp to the gut by Kofi. Kofi and Drew are no strangers to each other...as I say that, Stanford notes that Kofi won the Intercontinental Title from Drew. Kudos, Scott! Drew rather suddenly tags out...wonder if they're truly on the same page? Nice combo by the champs on McGillicutty, ending in Kofi assisting Bourne in his signature standing moonsault off an opponent's back. (Yes, I'm biased, shut up.) QUICK TAGS~! allow the titleholders to dish out some punishment on Michael-Mac...the champs clean house and hit stereo suicide dives!
McIntyre & McGillicutty turn it around and isolate Kingston...but he slides into a tag to Bourne. Bourne hits a huge crucifix bomb on McGillicutty...for two. Bourne goes topside, but the ref is occupied with Kofi and Drew trips up Evan on the ropes. Now it's Bourne on the receiving end of abuse as the heels start to work better as a unit...Evan gets a bridging rollup on Drew out of nowhere, but it's only good for a two-count and Drew takes the abuse to the arena floor. McGillicutty takes too long on a suplex setup and Bourne needs his way out of it, then backdrops McGillicutty and tags are made on both sides! Casa en fuego...SOS on Drew is blocked but the Superman Punch and Boom Drop are not. Trouble In Paradise? No, Drew backs into the corner but gets caught in a half-turn cross-body off the top...McGillicutty breaks up that pin attempt and nails Bourne. Kofi's left alone in the ring, but Drew BOOTs his partner by mistake! Trouble In Paradise connects on McIntyre...tag to Bourne and he hits the shooting star press for the victory!
TNA Impact
Extended yapping to start the show with Sting, Hulk Hogan, and Dixie Carter...then Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle. Bobby Roode wants a rematch after the screwy finish at the PPV and Sting's ready to book the rematch with Dixie's blessing, but Angle and Eric Bischoff snuck a no-rematch clause into the contract so it's not happening. That brings out James Storm who wants a piece of Kurt himself...so Sting makes the main event for tonight: Angle vs. Storm for the Heavyweight Title.
Tara Varon & Brooke Tessmacher vs. Winter Lea & Angelina Love for the Women's Tag Team Titles: Hey, wrestling! I remember this! Decent little TV match with Brooke getting the surprise pin on Winter after a Steamboat Press.
More sportz entertainment...this time, it's an encounter between Jeff Jarrett(w/ Karen Angle-Jarrett) and Jeff Hardy stemming from their altercation at Bound For Glory.
Abyss vs. Phil Gunner: Guess Abyss is back to face-dom...Gunner takes a beating for about a minute before taking a walk for the countout.
Time to hear from the new Women's Champion Velvet Sky...of course, leave it to Karen to rain on her parade. Karen has a beef since she was the referee and didn't count the deciding fall, plus Velvet didn't pin previous champion Winter to win that belt...at least Traci Brooks is there to stand by Velvet, but Karen has her escorted from the ring by security. Karen calls Madison Rayne to the ring to deal with Velvet...but it's a feint as Velvet is attacked from behind by the returning Gail Kim!
More yapping as Eric Bischoff(w/ Immortal) calls out Hulk...Hulk nearly gets surrounded but Sting arrives with baseball bats to spare. In the middle of it all, Bischoff gets into a confrontation with his son Garrett(who had refereed as "Jackson James" in recent months and officiated the Sting-Hogan match at the PPV) and Garrett decks his father.
Kurt Angle vs. James Storm for the Heavyweight Title: Angle brawls his way into an advantage, backing Storm into a corner...the ref has to get Kurt out of the corner and Kurt keeps brushing him off. However, Kurt proceeds to walk right into a huge superkick from Storm...and Storm gets the pin to win the Heavyweight Title?!? Wow. Roode, Frankie Kazarian, and A.J. Styles are all out for the big celebration(beer bash~!). Storm feels like it's bittersweet and wants to hand the belt to Roode...but Roode agrees with the fans that Storm deserves it, even personally putting the belt around his partner's waist.

Comedy Part 400: Set 400 vs. Game 1
Location: Comedy Etc. II
Emcee: Aaron Brooks
After: Landon Meyer
Before: Matt Idoux
Audience was a bit better than expected going up against the baseball game...I was a last-minute addition to the lineup, partially thanks to getting a few friends to come to last weekend's shows with David Koechner(Champ Kind!). Didn't have much new material to try out and the audience was all over the place as far as reactions went...so my set wasn't that great, in my own personal opinion. Hope to write some more in the near future once I have some downtime...mind has been on other things. Going to Etc. again tonight for Godfrey...may even go on Friday as well, I've heard he has a ton of material and can do a whole weekend of shows with all different jokes. Sounds tremendous to me...

TNA XPlosion
Your hosts are Jeremy Borash & Taz.
Ink Inc. vs. The British Invasion: Will Brutus Magnus ever cash in his XPlosion tournament title shot? Jesse Neal has control against Magnus, but Douglas Williams trips him up and pulls him to the floor to introduce him to the ring steps. Shannon Moore finally gets back into the action and chaos breaks loose, then Magnus throws Neal to the floor and the Brits double-team Moore into oblivion. However, Magnus BOOTs Williams by mistake and Neal GOREs Magnus...then Moore hits a solo Mooregasm(somersault neckbreaker off the second rope) to pin Williams.
WWE NXT5.com
Your hosts are Jack Korpela & S. William Regal, your emcee is Matt Striker.
Striker introduces a capture-the-flag challenge...of course, we're down to two competitors at the moment since Mr. No-Days-Off Darren Young is taking about thirty days off. Titus O'Neil is seconded by Percy Watson while Derrick Bateman is hanging out with Maxine Perez. The challenge is worth fifteen redemption points, in case anyone's still keeping track...so even though O'Neil is way ahead, Bateman can get within striking distance by winning here. Of course, Titus can put it out of reach if HE wins...but Bateman just cheapshots Titus pretty quickly while Maxine grabs Percy's foot to keep him from getting involved. Striker declares O'Neil the winner by disqualification...and announces O'Neil & Percy vs. Bateman and a partner of his choice for the main event. Surprised it took me this long to figure out that Bateman is essentially in Lucky Cannon's old role(including the relationship with Maxine)...
Yoshi Tatsu vs. Tyler Reks(w/ Curt Hawkins): Hawkins limps to ringside on a walking stick...Regal says that he suffered a fractured ankle in last week's match with Jimmy & Jey Uso. We get a replay of a backfired double-team that led to Hawkins taking a bad spill to the floor...Reks wonders if they can get away with such tactics because their father Rikishi Phatu used to work for the company. Regal drops the name of Jushin Liger as one of Yoshi's trainers...was not aware of that. Wish Eldon wasn't such a long drive as it would be cool to see Regal in person at WLW this Saturday night. Yoshi fires off a huge roundhouse kick and then avoids a blind charge, causing Reks to hit the ringpost shoulder-first. Tatsu follows up with the spinning heel kick off the top rope for the victory...but he suffers a double-team assault from Reks & Hawkins after the match. The Usos hit the ring and Hawkins bails, leaving Reks to eat a double superkick from the Samoan brothers. Hmm, looks like a six-man tag in the making, we just need an extra heel...
Kaitlyn Bonin(w/ A.J. Lee) vs. Maxine Perez: A.J.'s friend Kaitlyn is lending a hand in her recent rivalry...and also returning to the show where she won Season 3. This almost HAS to be better than some of their previous encounters...I recall referring to them as some of the worst matches I had witnessed in recent memory and I'm about as forgiving as it gets. Maxine actually counters a slam attempt into a modified dragon clutch...wow. Kaitlyn delivers a Buh-Buh Bomb and transitions into a leg-applied full nelson(a la Pierre Abernathy), putting that leg strength to good use...and she gets the submission, nicely done.
Bateman can't recruit Tyson Kidd for tonight, but he finds another ally despite fumbling on the handshake...
Titus O'Neil & Percy Watson vs. J.T.G. & Derrick Bateman: O'Neil & Watson are the more experienced tag team, but the heels have their share of tag team experience with different partners. Some teamwork by the heels puts Percy at a disadvantage and Bateman delivers a nice missile dropkick off the apron. Watson powers out of a camel clutch and makes the hot tag to Titus...casa en fuego(we're still in Mexico)! Bateman disposes of Percy and J.T.G. takes out O'Neil's leg, but Bateman tags in and misses the Steamboat Press by a mile. O'Neil capitalizes with the Clash Of The Titus on Bateman and that's the ballgame!

FCW TV
Your hosts are Matt Martlaro & S. William Regal.
Donny Marlow & C.J. Parker vs. Calvin Raines & James Bronson for the Tag Team Titles: Odd set of challengers as Raines and Big E Langston lost the belts to the current champs while Bronson scored a non-title victory over the titleholders along with Eric Rowan...not sure what happened to those particular duos, but here we are. Martlaro notes that Raines & Langston had their rematches at non-televised effects but were unable to recapture the belts, so they speculate that Raines is looking for a new partner to regain championship status. Raines and Bronson actually pull out a Doomsday Device on Parker but Marlow breaks up Raines' pin attempt after that. C.J. finally makes the tag after flipping out of a double back suplex attempt...the grass hut is afire! Marlow backdrops Bronson out of the ring immediately on entry and goes to town on Raines...he wraps things up in surprisingly quick fashion with the Samoan Drop on Raines to retain the Tag Team Titles.
Time for a word with our new Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger...he takes a passing shot at Justin Gabriel, saying he's the greatest South African to hold the title. He's also perfectly fine with taking credit for Bo Rotundo's injury, though he adds that it was unintentional. He has his new championship banner brought out and wants it to go in the spot where Bo's banner currently hangs...but Husky Harris takes exception to that. Before anything can escalate, General Manager Maxine Perez comes out and says SHE dictates how the banners will be hung. She also announces tonight's main event: Husky vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Damien Sandow...and the winner gets the first shot at Kruger next week.
Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews Husky backstage...Richie Steamboat interrupts and apologizes for last week's accidental superkick. Husky leaves and suddenly we hear Aksana Raudoniene screaming...Richie leaves the interview area and sees Husky standing in front of a fallen Aksana. Aksana screams that Husky shoved her down...and Steamboat immediately superkicks Harris! Steamboat hugs Aksana to comfort her and we see a DEVIOUS~! look on her face...
Audrey Marie vs. Leah West for the Women's Title: Regal notes that Leah was initially trained by Lance Storm...he also comments that Lance is always "a laugh a minute". :) The match is...about what you'd expect between two fairly new ladies...Audrey gets the win by reversing Leah into the Roundup(Eye Of The Hurricane).
Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews newcomer Antonio Cesaro...HEYYYYY~! Some of you may know him better as Claudio Castagnoli. He throws some foreign words out so he can note that us stupid Americans can only speak one language. His in-ring debut is next week...and he's still very European.
Abraham Washington vs. Peter Orlov: Okay, Orlov was a face last week but he seems to be a heel again this week. Orlov escapes an early slam attempt and clips the knee, focusing his attack on the leg after that. Abe recovers enough to kick Orlov out of the ring...he tries to rally and hits the Flapjack, but Orlov grabs his bad leg to keep him from hitting the ropes. However, Washington stomps him in the face to break away before dropping a standard elbow for the victory.
Briley Pierce STILL works here and he interviews Byron Saxton, Naomi Night, and Cameron Lynn. Naomi and Cameron issue an open challenge for a tag match next week...that was some interesting verbage.
Husky Harris vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Damien Sandow: These three men were in the finals of the Super 8 Tournament for the vacant Heavyweight Title that Leo Kruger won...the winner gets the first shot at the new champ. Husky's had some time to recover from that Steamboat superkick earlier in the show but he's in a tough spot against two heels. Ambrose and Sandow target the head and neck after the earlier superkick...but as you'd expect, the alliance falls apart over who gets to pin Harris for the win. Sandow gets the advantage with a swinging neckbreaker, but Husky recovers in time to break up that pin attempt. Husky goes after Sandow but misses an avalance and gets rolled up...for two.
Ambrose re-enters the fray as everyone goes for pins on everyone...Husky rams Sandow back into the corner to block an M-14(snap neckbreaker) attempt...then Ambrose pulls himself up on the ropes to avoid a baseball slide from Sandow. That leaves Husky with Dean...Husky delivers the uranagi but Sandow surprises him with an O'Connor Roll...for two, but the kickout lands Sandow on top of Ambrose...for two as Husky breaks it up. Husky avalanches both men repeatedly but runs into a boot from Ambrose...Midnight Special is attempted but Husky fights out of it, then Sandow clotheslines Ambrose out of the ring. Husky takes advantage and plants Sandow with the Wave Of The Future...and gets the pin to earn his title shot!
Next week: Leo Kruger vs. Husky Harris for the Heavyweight Title. So long from the Sunshine State!
NWA Anarchy TV #298
Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.
Damien Wayne vs. Ty Tyson for the NWA DAWG Title: DAWG is an NWA-affiliated promotion in New Jersey...Wayne has been to this particular arena before but this is his first visit in quite some time. He also shares a name with the current Robin in DC Comics(son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul). Wayne delivers an impressive Macho Elbow, but takes his time in making a pin cover and Tyson is able to kick out. Wayne goes to the well once too often and misses a corkscrew moonsault, giving Tyson the opening for a comeback. Ty gets a close near-fall after a bulldog, then delivers a sort of suplex/Stunner combination...Wayne rolls to the ropes to escape defeat after that. Ty makes the mistake of arguing with the referee and Wayne is able to attack from behind...however, a piledriver attempt is countered into an Alabama Slam into the turnbuckles. Ty tries to go on offense but runs into IT'S THE BIG FOOT and Wayne finally hits that piledriver to retain his title.
Mike West & Raymond King vs. The Hate Junkies(Dany Only & Stryknyn, w/ Dan Wilson): West & King actually do well in the early going...but King goes aerial and gets BOOTed out of the air by Only. King is able to break free and lunge for the tag to West out of nowhere...the house is afire and West gets some good offense going. King tags back in for a side backbreaker/top-rope kneedrop combo on Stryknyn, but Only breaks up the pin attempt and the Junkies decide to stop playing around. They dispose of West and Stryknyn pins King after the Hate Crime(assisted superbomb).
The celebration is short-lived as the Urban Assault Squad(Shadow Jackson & Nemesis) make their entrance to brawl with the Hate Junkies...they briefly tangle before The Reverend calls for a retreat. Nemesis gets the microphone and says he was contacted by the Hate Junkies to assist in the beatdown on Shadow Jackson...he wasn't too keen on a couple of "crackers" making such a request...
Seth Delay vs. Adrian Hawkins: These former tag team partners seem to be at career crossroads as Seth is looking to play it straight while Hawkins appears to be going back to the dark side. YAY WRESTLING~! to start...Seth dumps Hawkins out of the ring, but Adrian blocks a plancha attempt and rams him backwards into the guardrail. Delay mounts the comeback and hits a modified Kool Krusher for a two-count, but he misses the Macho Elbow. Extreme Makeover(Killswitch) is blocked and Seth ducks the middle-rope springboard elbow, then nails the missile dropkick. Delay goes back to the top and hits the Macho Elbow this time...for two. Seth goes back to the top rope for a moonsault...Hawkins moves and Seth tries to land on his feet, but he appears to hurt himself on the landing anyway. Adrian takes advantage by locking Delay in the Sharpshooter...Seth is close to tapping out, but finally reaches the ropes. However, Hawkins won't release the hold...a five-count later, Hawkins is disqualified and he STILL won't release the hold. T.V. Champion Steven Walters hits the ring and Hawkins decides that he was just leaving...
Mikael Judas & Jacob Ashworth vs. NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers & Young Lions' Champion Bo Newsom: A lot of recent history here as Judas has been targeting Tempers' championship while Newsom recently won the Young Lions' Title from Ashworth. Ashworth holds his own against Newsom in the early going but appears to be favoring his knee...the commentators say he was injured in the matchup where he lost the belt to Newsom. Ashworth is able to make the tag to Judas, then Tempers very, very quickly makes the tag to Bo. Newsom shows his ring acumen by attempting to suplex Judas...um, no. Johnson stresses the importance of this matchup in the event that one of the champions suffers a loss...that sets the stage for a future matchup where the belt WILL be at stake. A cheapshot by Tempers allows Bo to dropkick Ashworth's knee, setting the tempo of the match for several minutes...Tim E.D. notes that Tempers and Newsome have the edge in experience together as a tag team. Even Johnson admits some grudging respect for Ashworth as he worked his way up from fan to referee to wrestler to Young Lions' Champion.
The heels target the bad wheel and Tempers locks on an STF, but Ashworth barely reaches the ropes. Johnson suggests an interesting bit of reverse psychology: DON'T tape up an injured body part because it would alert the opponent to the damaged limb...in fact, tape up the OPPOSITE arm or leg. Hmm. Tempers gets a bit too cocky and gets backdropped out of the ring, but Bo clips the knee before Ashworth can tag out. Jacob kicks Newsom away...and finally tags in Judas! Bo is on the receiving end of Judas' fury...looks like Chokeslam City, but Tempers is legal and jumps on Judas' back to attempt the cobra clutch. Judas overpowers him and runs him into Newsom, then delivers that chokeslam! Newsom tries to go to the top rope, but Ashworth shoves him off into Judas' grip and Judas chokeslams Newsom ONTO Tempers! Judas covers Tempers, ref counts three, and he's just pinned the North American Champion!

FCW TV 10/9
Your hosts are Matt Martlaro & S. William Regal.
Johnny Curtis & Tag Team Champions Donny Marlow & C.J. Parker vs. The Ascension(Conor O'Brian, Tito Colon, & Kenneth Cameron)(w/ Raquel Diaz): Suitably CREEPY~! entrance for the debuting Ascension...let's see how they do as an in-ring team. Parker is caught in the wrong corner and gets stomped down in succession by each member of the Ascension trio. C.J. just barely gets out of dodge and makes the hot tag to Marlow...the grass hut is afire! Marlow surprises me with a Frankensteiner of sorts on Cameron, but Cameron escapes a Samoan Drop attempt. Blind charge into the corner by Marlow hits only ringpost and Cameron capitalizes with a sitout jawbreaker...for the pin?!? Well, that was sudden...
Leah West vs. Naomi Night(w/ Byron Saxton & Cameron Lynn): A.J. Lee(w/ Pikachu T-shirt~! and glasses) joins the broadcast team for this matchup. The Australian newcomer was on Tough Enough and is making her FCW debut against the former FCW Women's Champion and NXT competitor...A.J. adds that West was trained by Lance Storm. That was not a misprint up there...Naomi and Cameron come out dancing alongside Byron. Guess that makes a heel turn for Naomi...and Cameron is making her first appearance in the role of an active competitor(she was also on Tough Enough, I believe). Naomi also got the hair cut short...definitely a different look for her. The match is fairly quick...Naomi picks up the win with a modified Buff Blockbuster off the top rope. A lot of makeovers in FCW these days.
Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews Brad Maddox...Briley asks him about the feud with Richie Steamboat and they have different perspectives on who came out on top of that one. The two end up in an argument and trade insults...sounds like a match and Briley's actually gonna be wrestling again in the near future.
Peter Orlov vs. Calvin Raines: A.J. sticks around on commentary...fine by me. Martlaro talks up a change of attitude on the part of Orlov as he's in the face role here. He's also in the role of a distinct size disadvantage...but a blind charge into the corner gives Orlov the opening for a springboard forearm. Orlov's been MIA for a movie filming and the commentators wonder about the possibility of ring rust...Raines cuts off the rally by swatting aside a missile dropkick, then finishes with the fireman's-carry spinebuster(previously called the Raines Of Fire but Martlaro refers to it as the Relapse here).
Husky Harris vs. Damien Sandow vs. Leo Kruger vs. Dean Ambrose for the vacant Heavyweight Title: As previously reported, Bo Rotundo had to forfeit the title due to a lacerated kidney. These four won qualifying matches to reach this point(in order: Big E Langston, Roman Leakee, Percy Watson, and Seth Rollins). General Manager Maxine Perez sits at ringside with the belt alongside Richie Steamboat and Queen Aksana Raudoniene. Husky's got an uphill battle in this one as he's in the ring with three heels...things get chaotic early as Husky pairs off with his brother's rival Kruger while Ambrose battles Sandow. Husky and Ambrose clothesline their opponents out of the ring, then Dean immediately turns on Husky. Don't trust anyone~! Husky takes a page out of the Samoa Joe playbook by catching a charging Ambrose with a mid-air uranagi, then double-clotheslines Kruger and Sandow as they re-enter the fray.
The fight spills out of the ring as Sandow sends Ambrose into the steps as Harris pummels Kruger...that leads to a double-team attack on Husky. That partnership dissolves in a hurry when Sandow has the gall to attempt a pin on Harris and Kruger takes exception. Kruger and Sandow trade pinning combinations for a moment as they try to settle things between themselves while keeping Husky and Ambrose down. Martlaro notes that the referee is in for a long night as he has to keep track of four different competitors, accentuated by the fact that he nearly misses a pin attempt by Kruger on Husky. Ambrose is notably biding his time outside the ring as the other three battle it out...he finally gets back into the fight but no man has the edge for very long. Ambrose dumps Sandow out of the ring and targets Husky, who retaliates with the HUNDRED HAND SLAP~! and an avalanche. Kruger cuts off a top-rope move by Dean and it looks like superplex time...Husky looks to powerbomb them down from the perch but Sandow trips up Husky and crotches him on the ringpost! Kruger completes the superplex and Sandow jumps in to cover Leo...for two. Covers Ambrose...for two. Sandow attempts a re-entry sunset flip on Kruger, but Husky improvises by catching Sandow in a catapult move...sending him headfirst into Kruger's groin. OW.
Husky cleans house with inverted atomic drops, then nails all three at once with his War Pounce spear! We're left with EVERYONE outside the ring and Husky brawls with Ambrose toward the VIP section occupied by Maxine, Steamboat, and Aksana...they evacuate and Ambrose grabs a chair since it's essentially no-DQ. Steamboat grabs the chair away and unloads with a superkick, but Dean ducks and Richie coldcocks Husky! Steamboat doesn't seem too upset about how things turned out...in the meantime, Dean jumps back in the ring to target Sandow. Kruger high-knees Sandow into Ambrose, sending Dean out of the ring...sleeperhold on Sandow! Leo takes him down to the mat with the bodyscissors and Sandow is finally forced to tap out...Leo Kruger is your newwwww FCW Heavyweight Champion! Maxine leaves with Steamboat and Aksana, but Aksana casts an eye toward the new champion as she departs...
So long from the Sunshine State!
