Your hosts are Byron Saxton & S. William Regal, your ring announcer is Eden Stiles.
Percy Watson vs. Leo Kruger, Heavyweight Title Tournament: Doing the math, our final first-round tournament match will be another chapter in the ongoing Seth Rollins-Dean Ambrose series...woo. For reference, Damien Sandow and Husky Harris have already advanced to the four-corner tournament finals. Kruger pulls a page out of the Fit Finlay playbook, trapping Percy in the ring apron when he attempts a baseball slide. Watson rallies(OH YEAH~!) after Kruger misses a Stinger Splash, but Kruger raises the knees to block the Showtime Splash. That gives Leo the opening to lock on the sleeperhold and Percy has no choice but to tap out.
Backstage: General Manager Maxine Perez meets with Richie Steamboat...she'll grant him his grudge match with Brad Maddox tonight, but she says the superkick is banned and Steamboat will be suspended if he uses the move again. Aksana Raudoniene steps in to have a little talk with the younger Steamboat...hmm.
Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews Big E Langston. Big E recently set an American weightlifting record or two...so once this tournament is decided, he's looking for a shot at the winner.
Abraham Washington vs. Rick Victor: Regal jokes that he, Abe, and Byron "shut down ECW" when they were previously on the same show...heh. Solid matchup as Abe continues his recent comeback...Washington Flapjacks Victor and follows up with the In Yo Face Elbow to get the duke.
Ascension vignette...they're on their way.
Richie Steamboat vs. Brad Maddox, superkick banned: Regal notes that Steamboat has more weapons in his arsenal. For his part, Maddox comes out in boxing headgear with a "Kick Me" T-shirt...heh. Steamboat dishes out chops instead of kicks...but Maddox keeps daring Steamboat to kick him. Brad uses the mind games to his advantage and takes control of the matchup...Steamboat tries to go aerial but Maddox yanks him down off the top rope, causing him to painfully hit the ropes on the way down. Maddox brings out brass knuckles(Byron astutely notes that it's a page out of Regal's playbook) but the ref takes them away...then he sets up to use the headgear as a weapon and the ref takes THAT away. While the ref gets the headgear out of the ring, Richie decides "what the hell" and superkicks his lights out. Cover, ref turns around, 1-2-3. Once Brad recovers, he blows his top and charges at Steamboat only to eat a second superkick...bad night for him.
Briley Pierce still works here and he interviews new Women's Champion Audrey Marie. She's ecstatic over her title win and lets Briley try on her cowgirl hat.
Regal reports that Steamboat has been summoned to Maxine's office ASAP...he's in trouble.
Earlier this week, Matt Martlaro did a sitdown interview with the injured former Heavyweight Champion Bo Rotundo. Rotundo says he worked through pain for a while and finally had to get checked out, which was fortunate on his part as things could have gotten a lot worse(the injury was stated to be a lacerated kidney). Bo wishes his brother Husky the best of luck in the tournament...but once he returns, he'll be coming after the belt that he never truly lost.
FCW 15 Champion Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose, Heavyweight Title Tournament(n/t): Byron notes that Seth's left shoulder is taped up from a recent injury...we'll see if that affects the matchup. YAY WRESTLING~! to start as they feel each other out...then a shoving match ensues and they trade quick pinning combinations and near-falls...leading to a small package that keeps getting reversed and reversed on multiple occasions. They tease early finisher attempts but they keep evading each other...but Ambrose finally begins to target the injured arm. Ambrose does serious damage to the arm and gets him in a crossface chickenwing(!) but Rollins gets some separation with a jumping enzuigiri. One-armed comeback ensues...Dean tries to cut it off by going after the arm but Rollins keeps the momentum going. Advanced curbstomp hits but Ambrose rolls out of the ring to regroup...suicide dive connects but Seth hits the guardrail bad-shoulder first in the process! Back in, Ambrose cuts off a top-rope move but Rollins fights out of the superplex attempt...sunset bomb attempt is blocked as Seth can't keep him up with the bad arm. Dean lariats him, runs him shoulder-first into the ringpost, and finishes with the Midnight Special to advance in the tournament!
Next week: Damien Sandow vs. Husky Harris vs. Leo Kruger vs. Dean Ambrose for the vacant Heavyweight Title. So long from the Sunshine State!
