NWA Anarchy TV #298

Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.

Damien Wayne vs. Ty Tyson for the NWA DAWG Title: DAWG is an NWA-affiliated promotion in New Jersey...Wayne has been to this particular arena before but this is his first visit in quite some time. He also shares a name with the current Robin in DC Comics(son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul). Wayne delivers an impressive Macho Elbow, but takes his time in making a pin cover and Tyson is able to kick out. Wayne goes to the well once too often and misses a corkscrew moonsault, giving Tyson the opening for a comeback. Ty gets a close near-fall after a bulldog, then delivers a sort of suplex/Stunner combination...Wayne rolls to the ropes to escape defeat after that. Ty makes the mistake of arguing with the referee and Wayne is able to attack from behind...however, a piledriver attempt is countered into an Alabama Slam into the turnbuckles. Ty tries to go on offense but runs into IT'S THE BIG FOOT and Wayne finally hits that piledriver to retain his title.

Mike West & Raymond King vs. The Hate Junkies(Dany Only & Stryknyn, w/ Dan Wilson): West & King actually do well in the early going...but King goes aerial and gets BOOTed out of the air by Only. King is able to break free and lunge for the tag to West out of nowhere...the house is afire and West gets some good offense going. King tags back in for a side backbreaker/top-rope kneedrop combo on Stryknyn, but Only breaks up the pin attempt and the Junkies decide to stop playing around. They dispose of West and Stryknyn pins King after the Hate Crime(assisted superbomb).

The celebration is short-lived as the Urban Assault Squad(Shadow Jackson & Nemesis) make their entrance to brawl with the Hate Junkies...they briefly tangle before The Reverend calls for a retreat. Nemesis gets the microphone and says he was contacted by the Hate Junkies to assist in the beatdown on Shadow Jackson...he wasn't too keen on a couple of "crackers" making such a request...

Seth Delay vs. Adrian Hawkins: These former tag team partners seem to be at career crossroads as Seth is looking to play it straight while Hawkins appears to be going back to the dark side. YAY WRESTLING~! to start...Seth dumps Hawkins out of the ring, but Adrian blocks a plancha attempt and rams him backwards into the guardrail. Delay mounts the comeback and hits a modified Kool Krusher for a two-count, but he misses the Macho Elbow. Extreme Makeover(Killswitch) is blocked and Seth ducks the middle-rope springboard elbow, then nails the missile dropkick. Delay goes back to the top and hits the Macho Elbow this time...for two. Seth goes back to the top rope for a moonsault...Hawkins moves and Seth tries to land on his feet, but he appears to hurt himself on the landing anyway. Adrian takes advantage by locking Delay in the Sharpshooter...Seth is close to tapping out, but finally reaches the ropes. However, Hawkins won't release the hold...a five-count later, Hawkins is disqualified and he STILL won't release the hold. T.V. Champion Steven Walters hits the ring and Hawkins decides that he was just leaving...

Mikael Judas & Jacob Ashworth vs. NWA North American Champion Shaun Tempers & Young Lions' Champion Bo Newsom: A lot of recent history here as Judas has been targeting Tempers' championship while Newsom recently won the Young Lions' Title from Ashworth. Ashworth holds his own against Newsom in the early going but appears to be favoring his knee...the commentators say he was injured in the matchup where he lost the belt to Newsom. Ashworth is able to make the tag to Judas, then Tempers very, very quickly makes the tag to Bo. Newsom shows his ring acumen by attempting to suplex Judas...um, no. Johnson stresses the importance of this matchup in the event that one of the champions suffers a loss...that sets the stage for a future matchup where the belt WILL be at stake. A cheapshot by Tempers allows Bo to dropkick Ashworth's knee, setting the tempo of the match for several minutes...Tim E.D. notes that Tempers and Newsome have the edge in experience together as a tag team. Even Johnson admits some grudging respect for Ashworth as he worked his way up from fan to referee to wrestler to Young Lions' Champion.

The heels target the bad wheel and Tempers locks on an STF, but Ashworth barely reaches the ropes. Johnson suggests an interesting bit of reverse psychology: DON'T tape up an injured body part because it would alert the opponent to the damaged limb...in fact, tape up the OPPOSITE arm or leg. Hmm. Tempers gets a bit too cocky and gets backdropped out of the ring, but Bo clips the knee before Ashworth can tag out. Jacob kicks Newsom away...and finally tags in Judas! Bo is on the receiving end of Judas' fury...looks like Chokeslam City, but Tempers is legal and jumps on Judas' back to attempt the cobra clutch. Judas overpowers him and runs him into Newsom, then delivers that chokeslam! Newsom tries to go to the top rope, but Ashworth shoves him off into Judas' grip and Judas chokeslams Newsom ONTO Tempers! Judas covers Tempers, ref counts three, and he's just pinned the North American Champion!
