ROH TV

Your hosts are Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness.

Kyle O'Reilly vs. Roderick Strong(w/ Truth Martini): Strong's issues with Heavyweight Champion Davey Richards now extend to one of Davey's training partners. Martini is not satisfied with the ring introduction and provides his own pre-written intro for Bobby Cruise to read...then joins the broadcast team for the first part of the matchup. Truth hypes the fact that Strong is issuing an open challenge for Final Battle...that rarely ends well for a heel. Fine matchup, as you might expect...Strongbuster only gets a two-count but Roddy immediately goes into the Stronghold from there. O'Reilly barely reaches the ropes...then counters a half-nelson backbreaker into a crucifix pin for a close near-fall. Kyle tilt-a-whirls into a DDT and hangs on for a guillotine vice...Strong is able to maneuver O'Reilly's shoulders to the mat for a near-fall. Strong stuns O'Reilly with a jumping knee strike and a series of forearms, then hits the ropes to nail the Sick Kick(flying boot) and finally score the victory. Post-match, Truth tells O'Reilly to deliver a message to Richards...O'Reilly gets his hands on Martini but that brings out Michael Elgin for a double-team beatdown. Elgin and Strong deliver a killer Alabama Slam/backcracker double-team on O'Reilly...Tony Kozina tries to help but takes a beating as well. Finally Richards himself makes the save...Davey shrugs off a cheapshot from Martini but that distracts him enough for the House Of Truth members to dish out some abuse on the champion. Eddie Edwards joins the party and the American Wolves clean house, leaving Truth cornered in the ring. Security holds off the heels and the Wolves kick Martini clear out of the ring.

Jim Cornette arrives to restore order as Elgin had injured a member of ringside security in the chaos. Some ringsiders chant "We Want Steen" and Cornette goes on a rant about how Kevin Steen is more trouble than he's worth.

Inside Ring Of Honor: The hype is on for Final Battle...who gets the Heavyweight Title shot? The story is that the list of contenders has been narrowed to former champion Eddie Edwards and T.V. Champion Jay Lethal. We'll find out the final decision next week.

Also next week: Tag Team Champions Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander in a non-title "Proving Ground Match". If Coleman & Alexander can win or even manage a time-limit draw with the champs, they earn a title shot.

Alex Silva vs. Tommaso Ciampa(w/ Prince Nana & Ernesto Osiris): Steve Corino joins the broadcast team for this matchup...Ciampa responds to the handshake offer by spitting on Silva's hand...eww. Silva gets more offense than I would have expected...but Ciampa continues his winning streak with the Project Ciampa(powerbomb-into-a-backcracker).

The All Night Express vs. The Briscoe Brothers: The Briscoes won in controversial fashion in the previous encounter between these two teams...this will decide the Tag Team Title challengers for Final Battle. The teams start brawling before we can even get through the ring introductions...the ANX take control and isolate Jay Briscoe in the early going. The momentum swings several times, but a blind tag finally allows the Briscoes to double-team Kenny King. King backdrops out of a Jay-Driller attempt and nails Mark before finally maneuvering into a hot tag to Rhett Titus...the house is on fire! Jay takes a whooping from both members of the All Night Express but Mark gets involved again. The ANX set up for some kind of double-team but Mark again gets involved, stopping Titus from climbing the ropes while Jay plants King with a spinebuster. Jay attempts a top-rope Frankensteiner on Titus but gets dumped face-first onto the turnbuckles...Mark gets involved and hits a huge springboard Diamond Cutter on Rhett. However, Mark gets caught in a springboard Buff Blockbuster from King and then Jay DDTs King! The ANX set up for their powerbomb/Blockbuster combo, but Jay breaks up King's end of it and then dives off the top rope himself to give Mark some extra oomph to counter the powerbomb into a rana pin! Jay subtlely adds a slight assist to Mark's pinning combination out of the referee's line of sight and that's enough for Mark to pin Titus for the victory!
